Came in on a wednesday afternoon and it was kind of busy. The wait for oysters was about 25-30 minutes long which wasn't too bad for the $1 oysters. But unfortunately the oysters tasted bland and did not taste fresh and they were mushy. I had to put sauce on all of them to add some flavor to the oysters because they didn't have any. I was really disappointed because I waited and read so many good reviews but there are better oysters at other restaurants

It's impossible these days to find $1 oysters, let alone during non-work hours! We came on Saturday late afternoon, and there wasn't a line. We got 3 dozen oysters and some poke chips to share! The oysters were fat, and not extremely salty/briny - very creamy! Only downside is that because they're busy shucking, there's some grit/shell shards inside. Love how they're generous with the lemon/hot sauce at each table.

oysters and beer hit the spot HARD after an intense workout. poke bowl was nice. not much protein.....small portions of hamachi and tuna. the taro chips with truffle aioli were nice. service is polite and the ambiance well lit and clean. oysters are only $1 each !! bargain for sure and super fresh. fanny bays when I went last Saturday. oyster happy hour $1 each

Drove an hour to get here from the South Bay after seeing a reel on Instagram advertising their $1 oysters happy hour on Wednesdays. I believe it begins at 3 and ends around 9 o'clock? Come early, because it truly becomes a madhouse! I actually came here twice. The first time, we came at 8 PM and they were sold out. The cashier told us they were sold out around 6 PM. We came back again two weeks later at 5 PM, and there were luckily minimal people in line so we got our oysters. We ordered 3 dozen. They said the wait would be around 10 minutes, but we ended up waiting 35 minutes. If it was that long of a wait without many people in the store, I wonder how hectic it would be when people started flooding in. When we left at 6:30, the line was out the door. So again, COME EARLY! The oysters were medium-small and very fresh. Some of the oysters had chunks of ice on it from the ice layer. It came with cocktail sauce, mignonette, and a soy sauce with green onions. You can grab Tapatio and Tabasco on the counter. Personally, I didn't like the soy sauce because it amplified the fishy taste of the oysters. I enjoyed the cocktail sauce with a hint of horseradish, as well as the mignonette with the crunchy onions. Lemon squeezes are a must although I wish they gave us more. I ate a dozen while my friend ate two dozen. I was very satisfied with this happy hour. The cleanliness of the store was good although sometimes trays of oysters would be left out for a long time. The customer service was super friendly. It seems like a decent place for poke as well beyond their oysters. The taro chips looked really good; I almost got one. The decor was quirky and overall, it was a casual vibe inside this shop. I feel like you can't beat $1 oysters (that were fresh and perfectly sized). I'd make the trek here again.

We came here for the $1 oysters (available Wednesdays and Saturdays), and we were not disappointed!! The oysters were so sweet and fresh and came with an assortment of sauces, though my favorite was a dash of Tabasco and a squeeze of lemon. We also ordered a couple of poke bowls to share and they were tasty. I love that you can go half and half in choosing the base (like half brown sushi rice and mixed greens), and that you can add in as many toppings as you'd like. We will definitely be back!

Everything was excellent--from the taro chips, Chips on Deck, and spicy crab to the beautiful interior and overall atmosphere. The vibes were great, the staff were incredibly friendly, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. I wish I ate oysters because they offer $1 oysters on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The place was packed, and it was clear that a lot of people came specifically for that deal. The high turnout definitely added to the lively energy of the restaurant. Definitely a place I'd come back to!

Truffle Poke Bar in Burlingame is honestly such a good deal if you like oysters like me. They have $1 oysters all day every Wednesday and Saturday, no limit (insane deal). The place does get really crowded at 6pm, but it wasn't too bad we only waited like 5 minutes to get a table. The oysters took longer though, they told us maybe 35 mins wait but it ended up being around for only 20 mins, so not too bad honestly. The oysters were great quality for the price, I ate so many lol no regrets. While waiting for the oysters, you can still order poke and beer with no wait time, which is actually really good too. The poke was just like any other poke place, but it served its purpose. They also have taro chips, saw a lot of people ordering it but I was already too full to try. Maybe next time. Overall def worth it if you're an oyster lover and don't mind a bit of waiting.

Came here when they were doing their promotion on oysters for $1. Went on a Saturday afternoon, and there was no line. There was a good amount of seating. I don't remember how many oysters we got..but it was a lot. I like how they were small and they gave us 3 different sauce options. We also got some poke chips where you get the option of what kind of fish you would like and it is served with taro chips which I liked. The fish and oysters were fresh. I'll be coming back here whenever I am in the area.

Oysters 20 and we did another 12 after. So good!

Great place for the oyster happy hours. We went there on Wednesday and did a 32 count. Service was simple and quick, just go to the front and order, then they gave you a tag. The place is spacious, they have another spot at the back. Will be back soon!

First time trying this location and came specifically for their Wednesday&Saturdays $1 happy hour oysters. Overall the food is good, downside is the service. There was a good amount of people ordering & waiting, but not enough room inside to accommodate what they're trying to sell. No outdoor heaters for their back patio & we had to sit in the cold weather just to eat the oysters.

    Michelle C.

$1 oyster HH was amazing! Went around 8pm. Seating can be difficult since it does get busy. They have a small patio in the back with a few tables, but it was cold and I don't think I saw any heaters, so it wasn't really an option for me. Got lucky finding a two person table right after ordering two dozen oysters and a couple pints of beer. It did take 20-25 min for our oysters to come out, which gave us enough time to eat them before they closed. Oysters came out on ice with lemons, 3 different sauces + small bottle of Tabasco. Noticed there were two different types of oysters but we weren't too fond of the bigger, creamier kind. Will definitely be back!

Service 5/5 Workers are always smiling and friendly Ambiance 4/5 Clean little spot. Decent amount of seating. They do change the wall decor depending on holidays (ie Valentines Day oer my photo) Food 5/5 Regular bowl gets you 4 selections (small bowl gets you 3 selections) of protein. Wide variety of add-ons to your poke bowl at a decent price $18.95 Fish and ingredients are all fresh.

Cool interior. Lots of places to sit. Solid poke bar. Came for the dollar oysters and wasnt disappointed. Service was a little slow but I came right when they opened,so there was one person taking orders and one person in the back shocking, so no biggy. Maybe waited 15 mins cuz alot of people ahead of me got oysters too. I got the tuna lovers and it was big enough for me and my husband to share. Def get the taro chips on the side to eat with you poke ^_^

One of the things that happened when I visited this bar was I asked for a simple lemonade. The reason was because I had a soccer game the next day and I didn't want to drink alcohol and I wanted to get some electrolytes in me. It would have been very simple for the bartender to just say, "I'm sorry we don't serve lemonade." Instead what he did is say I worked here 20 years and he never served lemonade and then kept scoffing at me. He kept saying this three times, walking back and forth, up until the point the patron next to me even said, "Don't worry about him." After that without even me talking to him, he said, "Who orders lemonade at an Irish pub?" Then without me saying anything, he said, "No one orders lemonade at an Irish pub." I was honestly just trying to get a drink and he made me feel very dumb. Overall if a patron asks you for a drink, it's very easy just to say, "I'm sorry we can't do that," but he kept making me feel like an idiot. I was also surprised they did not serve lemonade; that's a very simple request. He didn't offer any alternatives except for 7-Up, which I didn't really want but paid for anyway. I ended up not drinking it even after I paid for it and leaving the bar. I guess the bartender got what he wanted. He gave me a drink that was other than lemonade; he made me pay for it and I just left the bar unhappy. I would highly recommend against visiting this establishment, especially with the grumpy bartender. He is an older white Irish guy. I understand they might have your own customers at the bar but I think it costs nothing to treat patrons with respect and not tell them that they're stupid for asking for a drink. Overall I would not recommend this place at all. Very enforced error. Sad!

Walked into what is clearly a local institution - the kind of place where regulars know the staff's kids' names. Weekday evening crowd skewed silver-haired, which in my experience is always a good omen. These people have been eating out for decades - they know where the bodies are buried and where the good food is. Server was legitimately excellent. Paced the order so apps didn't collide with entrees - a simple move that most places fumble. Checked in without hovering. Knew the menu cold. Then this happened: I asked for a Pliney. He asked, "Elder or Younger?" That's when I had to pause. In all my years of ordering Plineys, no one has ever asked me that. Because no one has ever randomly had Pliney the Younger on tap. These guys did - apparently a locally advertised special that had been going on that day. They had a Keg of this rare stuff, and it was depleting quickly. I got the Younger on repeat till I was barely stumbling out of the place. Life is good. Ordered the Cheesesteak and it was legit - not playing around. The family went burgers, hot dogs, and wings. Zero complaints across the board. Bar fare done right, priced right, with zero pretension. Sometimes the best finds are the ones you didn't plan for.

This recent trip…read morewas actually my second time here, though the first time feels like forever ago (some time pre-pandemic). LOCATION: Its home is within the Burlingame Plaza, next door to a Lunardi's grocery store. It's located directly across from the Mills-Peninsula Medical Center on the corners of Trousdale and El Camino Real. PARKING: There generally is enough parking, though you may have to walk a bit further depending on the time of day and how busy it is. The lot and area seem safe, even at night when other things in the shopping center have closed down. INSIDE: We went on a Sunday evening, around 6pm to watch the Sunday Night Football game. It was actually pretty busy, though there was some bar and highboy seating as well as a couple tables still available. We went with the traditional table because the older we get, the more we appreciate back support. There are TVs EVERYWHERE. Most of the walls are lined with TVs, playing a variety of sports, but mostly whatever's local or the "main game". It's also pretty loud-you're still able to have a conversation amongst a smaller group of people, but you definitely have to be listening intently. There is a lot of cool, mostly local, sports memorabilia. They have a whole Giants corner, in addition to lots of Niners autographed jerseys, helmets, and footballs. There's also a wall with dozens of autographed baseballs. We took some time to look at the names, and noticed the likes of Mickey Mantle, Willie McCovey, and plenty of other Hall of Famers! DRINKS: Their drink menu consists of 10+ white wine, 6 red wine, and 2 sparkling wine options available by the glass or the bottle. They have bottled beer (domestic, imports, and microbrew) and cans (White Claw, High Noon, Wyder's Pear Cider, Ace Joker apple cider, and Guinness). They also have a couple non-alcoholic beer options, and other non-alcoholic options (coffee, tea, Pepsi products, juice, and Arnold Palmers). They also have over a dozen beers on tap, as well as a full bar that can provide shots and likely make most cocktails. Prices for most drinks are actually quite reasonable for the area--on par with a sports bar more than a fancy restaurant. FOOD: Their menu is surprisingly big for what seems to be a shopping center sports bar. For apps, they have a lot of typical bar food options (fries, onion rings, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, wings, chicken tenders, sliders, quesadillas, tacos, and even Lumpia). There is a section with half a dozen tasty sounding salads, available in full or half sized portions. There is also a separate section for their chili, which is served in a cup or bowl, with shredded cheese, chopped onion, sour cream, and fresh jalapenos. The sandwich portion of the menu runs 10+ deep with options such as burgers, a patty melt, Philly cheese steak, grilled and Buffalo fried chicken, salmon, BLT, and even a hotdog or polish dog (technically not a sandwich)! The entree section has some bangers too, with items like BBQ ribs, NY steak, grilled or blackened salmon, linguini, chicken parm, ravioli, and meatballs. I love that this section has an Italian flair, and want to come back to try things like the chicken parm! This most recent trip we went with friends and split a few things amongst the groups. I got the patty melt, with a side of chili. The melt was solid, not spectacular. I would have liked the grilled onions cooked a little more. The chili was also good, not great. We got all the accoutrements on the side, which allowed us to try it on its own first, then add as we go. Our friends ordered a Chinese chicken salad, and a burger basket with onion rings. They both finished their meals and noted that they enjoyed them! OVERALL: While this is basically a bar, it's also a restaurant. There were several children under the age of 10 running around screaming that were part of larger groups. Not sure if there's a specific time when minors are no longer allowed? The service was friendly enough, and the bathrooms were clean when we went. This is for sure a great spot to grab a drink, bite to eat, and watch a sports game or 3! IG: @bbnem.eats
