Not cheap but the fish was super fresh and it was good to try a variety of their appetizers and hand rolls. Enjoyed the Chu toro roll the most but all the others were good also - salmon, salmon belly, tuna, hamachi, avocado cucumber, Ikura salmon roe, and the shrimp tempura and sukiyaki rolls too. Soft shell crab, cold tofu, and calamari were very good. Will be back - very clean and sleek modern design inside.

This place has no line on a Sat night so decided to eat here. They were accommodating. Place is small but clean. The rolls are just okay. Pretty expensive for what you get. I left still hungry...the rice is just regular sushi rice and the seaweed is soggy. The rolls also tend to just lose all its contents as you eat them. Combo C 3.5/5 Scallop was worth it but the other raw ones weren't that good. Unagi and shrimp tempura were my faves of the night just cause of the sauce. Chu toro 3/5 Just ok. Flavoring was not that good and it was diced into cubes which I didn't care for. Spicy tuna 2.5/5 Flavoring again was off and was way too spicy. Cold tofu 3/5 Standard nothing special Gyoza 4/5 These were pretty tasty but the sauce to dip wasn't good (too sweet). Overall it was worth trying once but I'll have to wait until I'm back in LA for hand roll bars.

We went the night before Valentine's Day, and thank goodness my boyfriend booked in advance they were only accepting reservations that night, which was totally understandable for Valentine's weekend. The place is small with an intimate vibe. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, which always adds to a great overall experience. We started with salmon and hamachi sashimi, and both were incredibly fresh and creamy. Then we had the takoyaki, an absolute must-try. We were seriously considering ordering another round lol For hand rolls, we ordered: * O'Toro * Soft Shell Crab * Wagyu Beef * Salmon Belly * Uni Every single hand roll was perfect!! Everything tasted fresh and absolutely delicious. We also got two orders of oyster half shells (three per order, so we had three each. We love oysters OK). We ordered the oyster and uni shots as well, and they were so good! I must say this isn't a place you go to when you're super hungry, because you'll want to order everything and it can get pricey. Our total bill for two was over $300. Was it worth it? Absolutely. But we'll probably need to wait a while before going back HAHA

First time going to Taki Nori HandRoll Bar! I went on a Saturday afternoon. I was able to get set B, which came with 4 rolls. I think the set is about $2 cheaper than getting the same rolls individually. You're given a menu and dry erase marker to fill out. The rolls came out fast and were great! Staff was friendly. The inside is clean. Will be back!

You can order hand rolls one by one here, which is great if you want to try a variety. Everything was very fresh and delicious, though it is on the pricier side. Their Taki special was my favorite -- This hand roll filled generously with thick cuts of fatty toro (tuna), uni, and caviar, and sprinkled with golden leaf. The textures balance beautifully. Iwas amazing and priced at $25. Overall, great food and great service. I would absolutely come back next time I'm craving something light and high-quality Japanese food.

We came on Friday night before 6pm and sat at the bar. I wish the bar stool had some sort of back support for people with back issues like myself. They deliver the hand roll one at a time. I learned from a prior visit that you cannot let the hand roll sit for more than a minute otherwise, the roll will get soggy and it will be hard to chew. I enjoyed the shrimp tempura special, salmon and sushi tacos. The servers were attentive.

Big fan of this spot! Loved the bar layout and the servers were really nice. We only ordered a few apps for a snack but they were outstanding. The tempura was unlike your usual tempora, it was super crispy and had a great taste. The sushi tacos were so crunch and yummy. Didn't even get hand rolls so I'm excited to go back!

Stopped by for a quick dinner before a movie with my two kids after our original plan fell through since that place was closed on January 2nd. We joined the waitlist and were number one, but when we arrived the restaurant was completely empty. We sat at the counter and ordered Combo C, five hand rolls for $35. The ingredients were fresh and watching the chef make the rolls one by one was fine. No conversation, no show, which I did not mind. The hand rolls were good but nothing memorable. Definitely not wow. For the price, they were not worth it at all. Seven dollars per hand roll is a stretch, and these were just okay. I had high expectations for the scallop hand roll after reading other reviews, but it was disappointing. It looked great but tasted meh. The only one that stood out slightly was the salmon belly. We also ordered chicken karaage, which tasted like heavily breaded popcorn chicken from a bubble tea shop. Too much breading and not something I would order again. With tax and tip, the bill came out to $180 for three people. For that price, this was a one time visit for us.

Good spot for hand rolls in San Mateo. Went right at opening and got seated immediately. Got the O - Toro / Fatty Tuna, shrimp tempura, scallop, unagi rolls along with the miso soup. I sat right at the bar and so I could see the rolls being made. Service was great and so was the ambiance.

Food was great! Very cute spot! I got the salmon and roe box. With an appetizer(not pictured) of truffle hamachi.

Clean, affordable, and yummy. This place was empty other than one other table on a Tuesday night. It seems like they have a lot of takeout orders. Crispy chicken was great - not dry at all and good flavor. The rolls had a healthy portion of fish and came out at a good pace!

First time visiting this spot, which focuses mainly on sushi hand rolls. The décor is pretty nice, and most of the seating is sushi-bar style, which makes it fun to watch the chefs at work. Menu selection is a bit limited--there aren't too many rolls to choose from. I tried six different rolls. The Ama Ebi (raw shrimp) was fresh and tasty, but it didn't come with the deep-fried shrimp head. For $15, I was expecting that, so it felt a little pricey. The soft-shell crab roll was solid, though honestly the soft-shell crab appetizer is the better deal since it comes with the whole crab. Overall, the fish was fresh, the atmosphere was good, and it's definitely a place I'd come back to revisit.

I love a good handroll place and this one didn't disappoint. Great service and fresh ingredients! I don't recall which set I got but I enjoyed every handroll and the fish was so fresh, melt in your mouth type. We also enjoyed some sake. Id recommend going early since it isn't a very big restaurant. It was quite busy by the time we left on a Friday evening. I will definitely be back!

The person who answered the phone was incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming. They happily answered all of my (probably silly!) questions and even asked whether we preferred to sit indoors or outdoors. The day before our reservation, I received a confirmation message, which was a thoughtful touch. When we arrived, we were greeted with genuine warmth. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, and what stood out most was how sincere it felt. These weren't just professional smiles--they made us feel like truly welcomed guests. Our server, Stefania (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly!), was absolutely wonderful. She was warm, funny, attentive, and made our evening even more enjoyable. She asked whether we'd like to watch the game, whether we preferred a table in the shade, and even offered to bring a heater later in the evening if it became chilly. It was clear that everyone genuinely wanted us to have the best possible experience. The food was outstanding. Our group had very different tastes, yet every single person found something they loved, and everyone left happy. Every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Overall, Bahche exceeded our expectations in every way. We left feeling appreciated rather than just served, and that makes all the difference. Would I come back? Without a second thought. Would I recommend Bahche to my friends? I already have! Thank you to the entire team for making our celebration so special. We can't wait to return!

I honestly don't understand all the glowing reviews for B Street & Vine. Our experience was…read moredisappointing from start to finish. We sat outside, and the atmosphere felt tired and uninspired. There was nothing particularly inviting or memorable about the space. We ordered the bruschetta sampler ($24), choosing the mango, salmon, mushroom with prosciutto, and tomato mozzarella varieties. Surprisingly, they all tasted almost exactly the same. Nothing tasted fresh or vibrant. The bread was especially disappointing--bland, lacking texture, and seemingly devoid of flavor. The mango wasn't sweet, the tomatoes tasted like nothing, and even the mozzarella lacked freshness and character. The wine was equally underwhelming. My husband ordered the Tempranillo and I had the Albariño. Neither was enjoyable; both tasted harsh and overly alcoholic rather than balanced or flavorful. Even the presentation missed the mark. The glassware felt dated and unattractive, which only added to the overall feeling that the restaurant is past its prime. Unfortunately, this was not a memorable meal for the right reasons. With so many great dining options available, we won't be returning.
