Between how this part of South SF has been getting completely made over (or, in a lot of cases, newly built) and how poke bowls are like the perfect workday lunch (for me, at least), it's not all that surprising for a poke joint open up around here. However, even though I've passed by this office park numerous times, I never would've guessed there was one here! Not that I'm unappreciative, mind you - while I imagine this place can get pretty busy during the day time, I love how quiet and chill it was on a Saturday night! Located within The Cove at Oyster Point, Truffle Poke Bar is one of just a handful of retail businesses surrounded by several large office buildings (there's also a few other eateries, a Starbucks, a yoga studio, and an Orange Theory). As such, there's not much foot traffic at night, except for the waves of food delivery couriers that I saw walking in to pick up orders. However, there's a reason why so many folks order from here - the menu (and the food) look terrific! While the range of options here isn't as extensive as at other places, you'll still find all of the usual offerings, along with their signature truffle aiolis and even raw oysters! For my bowl, I opted to get their REGULAR POKE BOWL (Four Proteins, $18.95) with Ahi Tuna, Salmon, Hamachi, and Crab Salad with Scallions, Crispy Onions, Ginger, Sliced Jalapeno, Tobiko, Wasabi, Seaweed Salad, Ponzu Cucumber, Original and Ponzu Sauces, Furikake, and Truffle Aioli over Mixed Greens and White Sushi Rice. All together, unlike their menu, this thing was HUGE! All four of the proteins were terrific, the seaweed salad, ponzu cucumbers, and crispy onions, in particular, were great, and the aioli wasn't super heavy on truffle either! Plus, I liked that there was a balanced ratio of rice to proteins to toppings. While I can't say I had any major issues with my bowl, I do wish a couple of things about it were different. For one, it was a bummer to see the crab salad listed as a protein instead of a topping like at other places (though, to be fair, you get a lot of it). Also, it felt a little light on both of the sauces, as well as the truffle aioli, which I got a small dollop of. Even with those minor complaints, neither are anywhere near enough to deter me from coming back again. With all of the available parking and the wealth of seating both inside and out (on a Saturday night anyways), Truffle Poke Bar is such a convenient spot around here to stop in for a quick and easy bite. There are some seats on the outdoor patio. Couple of misses, no cocktail sauce, horseradish or condiments for the oysters only soy sauce and vinegar. Besides the cashier English is not used. My poke was soupy and it spilled on me. The woman who was there on Friday night had her airpods in. We ordered at the kiosk and wanted to customize our order, but couldn't talk to the woman making the food. I've always thought this place was mediocre, but come here because we like the taro chips with aioli. The taro chips were burnt today and have had minimal aioli for the last 2x we've been. For $8, I'm happy to skip it and make our own or patron some other place that respects us as customers. My husband vomited up the food. For a $20 bowl, this was such a lackluster experience. They do have a happy hour special of $1.50 raw oysters which we enjoyed. The poke bowl is a bit messy with different kinds of add ons . I prefer poke and rice as the main ingredients. I usually receive good service everywhere I go but this place treated me like I was wearing the wrong gang colors in their territory. My bowl had chunks of old hard rice which showed they didn't like me as their attitude was also bad. Door dash so we didn't even see the inside of the establishment, but I would like to try it in person some time. Was very efficient even with delivery. Delivered sooner than expected. On DD they had an offer on the chips and dip, but one get one free, so of course we ordered those. Chips were good, not as thin as we're used to but good nonetheless. I ordered the small BYO: rice, glass noodles, crab, tuna, scallions, mango, kimchee, pickled cucumber, and crispy onions, ponzu and original sauce, w spicy aioli top on the side. I know for sure I won't order the glass noodles- unless that's the only base I'm ordering. I didn't see fit mixing everything together, the noodles were cold and hard. The ponzu and original sauce were no where to be found so the proteins weren't flavored at all. The ratio of Kim chee and cucumbers overpowered everything. Had a great time at this location. It was my first time coming here and it was a really good experience. The service was great and the food was fresh and really good. There was a good amount of seating inside as well as some seating outdoors. The ambiance was very inviting and filled with color. Just ordered a poke bowl for dinner tonight through Uber Eats and drove there to pick it up. It was wrapped nicely in a plastic bag. When I got home to open it and eat it, I saw these tiny flies over the bowl, there was 4 in total as shown in the photos and I even took a video of them crawling around. I was afraid to eat the food with the bugs crawling around even thought it was outside the bowl. But knowing this is poke and raw, you don't know how sanitary the kitchen is. So I contacted Uber Eats for a refund since I was afraid to eat the bowl. I asked for a delivery fee waiver but they wouldn't do anything extra. I will not go back to this location. read more

Upon entering the restaurant, it appeared very clean and neat and one side is cashier/food preparation site. If you look to the left when you first enter, you will see a self serve, ordering kiosk. It's very easy to order. It's like looking at a huge iPad. For the first time it may take a little longer because you were reviewing all the items on the screen. But by my second time, it was easy to navigate. I have been here twice and have not been disappointed. The first time was enough to have my taste buds crave it. The second time I went, I brought a dining partner of which they ordered oysters, along with a poke bowl too. I do not eat oysters, so I am glad my dining partner could enjoy all the oysters to themselves. We came on the weekend and ordered a dozen oysters, but they ran out so we only got eight oysters (and since we paid at the kiosk, they offered to pick 2 beverages). I heard it was fresh tasting and yummy. They gave the chosen oysters a thumbs up. My poke bowl had a lot of different ingredients that I do not get here in the Silicon Valley or South Bay, so I definitely ordered the more unique items, but it was all good. I can remember I ordered shrimp tempura, glass noodles, truffle aioli, spicy shrimp, spicy tuna, and I think spicy crab at the very least. You're getting whatever arbitrary gram they have on their little scale. They use tongs to grab a lil bit of fish (2-3 pieces) for each of your "scoop". So 4 scoops will, if you're lucky, get you 6-8 pieces of fish. Visited Truffle Poke Bar last week with my friend and I enjoyed it a lot! There's a good amount of parking in the area which I appreciate a lot. I went with the regular bowl and created my own! I like to load up on proteins, veggies and toppings usually. It's always nice to put what you want vs already set menu honestly. I mean don't get me wrong if you're unsure what you want then you can definitely just choose that preset one! All their dishes and ingredients are fresh and tasty! I appreciate how quickly everything in from the moment you walk in and out within minutes! Overall the poke was good but I don't think anything really stood out to me to be honest. I was not pleased with the customer service at all. I came here for lunch as I was staying at the hotel nearby. I have never been here before but seems to be like any other build your own poke. I did notice they offer many different options of protein and even the base has more options that the average spot I've been too. I liked that but it took me a little bit to see all the options. As I was ordering we got to step number 3 (add scallions or not) and the worker who was building my bowl asked about scallions after saying something about Tuna. I really like the unique toppings for the bowl, which include the glass noodles, pickled peppers, onions, and radishes. I can tell this is a Korean fashion poke place. She just went back to her phone after telling me, no apologies. The Manager or whoever it was straight gaslit me about these 4.25 "White Truffle Taro Chips" with ZERO TRUFFLE OIL. Tasteless, no Truffle taste whatsoever. This was not what we had in San Mateo. I asked her about it and she pointed to the Truffle Aioli options on the menu. Dude. The literal order item on the kiosk is called "White Truffle Taro Chips" and the description said they were "topped with Truffle Oil". Mine came topped with bullshit and gaslighting. A small Build-Your-Own bowl is $14.95, with a TOTAL of 3 oz of protein (with your choice of two proteins). In general, a typical serving size of any protein is 4-6 oz. They weigh it out in front of you to make sure it's exactly the amount you're supposed to get, which is fair since that's their business model. But again, 3 oz isn't even a full serving of protein. They're generous with the bases and toppings, but skimpy with protein - aka what is supposed to be the main star of the dish. I had so much rice and salad that I actually ended up bringing the rice home to eat with leftovers later. I ordered the Original sauce, which basically just tasted like soy sauce, tbh. It's on me that I didn't try to order something more interesting, but I guess I was wrong to assume "Original" would be similar to "House Special". I didn't add any aioli sauces because I didn't want the extra calories, but maybe adding it may have given my bowl a bit more of an oomph? Variety of toppings offered was fine - I appreciated that seaweed salad wasn't an extra cost like some other places I've been to. But again, it's like they're over compensating on the bases and toppings to distract you from the fact that you didn't get much protein. Truffle poke bar is located in South San Francisco. It has some indoor and outdoor seating options. The interior is clean and has cool pop art on the walls. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and ordered my food on the self ordering kiosk. I didn't have to wait long to get my food. I built my own poke bowl and I was impressed with the portion size. They were really generous with the toppings and fish which I really appreciated. In the regular poke bowl you can pick up to 4 proteins. I chose the spicy crab salad, salmon, tuna, and shrimp tempura. There are a lot of protein and topping options to choose from such as mango, seaweed salad, spam, and kimchi. There are a couple of sauce options and one of them was a truffle aioli which I got on top of my crab salad. I think this place is a good place to grab lunch especially if you work in one of the biotech companies near by! I come here a lot more than I would like just because it's so close to my workplace. Overall, the poke bowls are pretty hit or miss, but this is still a decent spot if you're looking for a quick bite to eat or a quick drink after work. Poke bowls - Sometimes I choose my own and sometimes I pick the curated bowls. They have a lot of different protein options including less common ones like tempura shrimp and seared spam, and they have a good assortment of toppings as well. My favorite topping is definitely the taro chips which I always get on the side. These are usually the perfect crunch but sometimes they come out overdone and slightly burnt. The bowls are a hit and miss for me, mainly due to the quality of the fish which is sometimes not that fresh. I think the flavor also depends a lot on who is mixing your bowl as sometimes I feel it's really missing seasoning/sauce, despite the fact that I always choose two sauces. Happy hour - They have a small happy hour menu including wine and oysters, which is a fun treat. The oysters here were pretty good on the couple of occasions I've had them. Ambiance - They have some seats at the counter and a few tables inside, but they have plenty of tables outside. The outdoor tables are a nice option as well if you're dining with a group because it allows people to choose options from other neighboring restaurants and still eat together. I love this place! I'm local to South city and this is one of my go to poke spots! Super casual. Sometimes I do dine in, but many times I just order for takeout. I usually make my own bowl with white rice, salmon, shrimp, crab, tobiko, seaweed salad, and fried onion. Then I also get an order of the truffle chips. This place is well kept, and the items are fresh. Service is great, always pretty quick. My only complaint is that sometimes they do go too light on the sauce. read more

Def one of the WORST places for poke in the Bay Area. I HATE the kiosks with no directions especially since the place wasn't close to being busy and someone could have just as easily taken my order. Folks seemed pretty nice who were working. Inside the place is nice, but not spectacular or anything. Food was definitely subpar. As stated before by others, the ingredients were NOT fresh and quite frankly I didn't finish the bowl because it didn't smell right. Not sure if I would trust getting oysters from this place because the fish in my bowl was DEFINITELY not fresh. Wouldn't waste my time coming here with Nick the Greek right next door. read more

I ordered through DoorDash a build your own Regular bowl. Food was delivered fresh and fast. I ordered the ahi tuna, 2 scoops of salmon sashimi and shrimp tempura. Everything was really good. I loved the habanero onions, the sauces: spicy aioli, sweet guajillo aioli and miso habanero were all really good. I would order again. read more
