So I decided to come here on a off time and the bartender was extremely rude. Sherrie(sp) had an attitude to start. This is the second time I've been at this bar where it seems like she doesn't want to work. I simply asked for the gluten free menu and she gets a pissed off like I wasn't supposed to ask. As soon as I wanted her name she proceeded to than ask me if I wanted water Then she runs over to tell her manager like we're in grade school because I asked for a menu??? He comes over and introduces himself and proceeded to tell me she told him there was some confusion bout the menu? I didn't think asking for the gluten free menu was an issue. Are YOU SERIOUS. Stop it with the pettiness. If she doesn't want to work on Sunday and the bar she shouldn't be here. My money is green and spends like the rest of the customers stop with playing victim. read more

I found this place because I was trying to find a restaurant between my friend and I to grab dinner and the reviews here were good! First, I have to say I liked their wine selection and it was affordable. I had one of the pinor noirs and their glasses were a very nice pour (more than I've received at other restaurants) so I felt like I definitely got my money's worth. We decided to eat appetizers for dinner and we chose a sampler platter with hummus and veggies and bread. It was big and perfect for sharing between two people, and we also got a flatbread that had shrimp on it (I wish I could remember the name of it because it was delicious). Other people have mentioned poor service, but I had my two year old with me (who acted crazy) and we had great service and the waiter was really patient with my toddler. He and others even helped me pick up her sippy cup approximately a billion times, and they always did it with a smile! As a parent I definitely appreciate people not treating me like I'm a horrible person for going out to dinner with a kid. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu as everything looked great and had nice portions! read more

However, listening to what I assume is the manager yell at the servers in the back for seemingly no reason was disgusting. As a relatively regular eater here, I'm considering stopping completely. We were there last night. Waitress wouldn't turn down music in back room where we were seated. Said it was a policy of the owner. We couldn't even hear each other. My husband then asked the manager and the music was turned down. The service was okay but our food orders got messed up and the food was poorly cooked. We ordered a burger and got a dish with 4 hard, over seasoned meatballs on small pieces of bread. The meat was inedible. Mom ordered chicken parm and it was so over cooked and burnt she didn't eat it. Then when we got home my husband had a stomach ache. That was around 7pm. He was sick all night with heavy vomiting. He was food poisoned. We will never eat at TruFire again. read more

Not my favorite restaurant although my better half likes it much better than I do. Whenever I go there I have a hard time finding something that I want on the menu. I have ordered a couple of things and never really been happy with my meal. In contrast I have to say that my better half loves their chicken sandwich and thinks the place is great! They have a lovely patio that is private and away from the street. I guess it all depends on your taste which is why I am giving it three stars which is I combination between how I feel and how my other half feels about this restaurant. The experience at TruFire is definitely one to remember! While our food took over an hour to receive and was cold when presented, the General Manager Eric immediately handled our entire meal and provided us with fresh entrees. The food was absolutely delicious and well worth the wait. Although we had a rough start to our experience, their customer service and satisfaction much amounted to the wait that we had. Came here after trying the TruFire in Southlake. It was just as great as the other location!! My boyfriend thought that feta on top of hummus was genius (like he couldn't stop eating it). The fig salad was so good. It wasn't drenched in dressing and had the right amount of pecans. My boyfriend said that the Kobe beef burger was cooked well and tender, but there was something missing in the seasoning. Guess for burgers we'll stick with Haystacks in Richardson or Hopdoddy in Addison. Drinks are great and many ingredients are made in house. Still wish there was a location closer to the city center or in Addison. Like off of Beltline Rd. in Addison. They would fit perfectly in Village Parkway and be awesome!! But if I'm headed to Ikea or really craving a fig salad, I'll make the trip. read more

Wow, I must admit I am bummed out about this one. The service was okay and the atmosphere was what you would expect for the "vibe". That's where the interest in this place stops. I had heard good things ( and I guess I must go back and consider the source, which was international, not very cultured and also thinking that it was a "4 to 5 star"----and in the timeless words of Randy from American Idol " That's a NO from me dawg") but I digress.... the menu for dinner had more sandwiches that were appealing than the main courses. Sandwich's for dinner ???? I at first thought the hostess had given me a "lunch menu" . I want you to think of tables of wine drinking late 40s and early 50s couples, possibly sharing plates, long conversations where they are catching up with friends from up North or friends that they haven't seen in a while are still doing the "once a year ---story-a-thon" ( I say this as reservation times are "a best guess on if anything will be ready at that time, but the attempt was nice" sort of thing). Now to the dated and limited menu design. This menu was assembled either by a " culinary show binge watcher or reality tv chef wanna be's " or by someone who is designing food/ingredient pairings from what ever the Cysco or US FOODS sales rep has "deals on that week". It left a lot to really dig your fork into if you are a foodie, or even a hungry "normie". The recipes are forced, drowning in heavy and off set cheese choices or "things that are kitchen staff favorites and no one else's" I know this because as I looked at the plates coming back to the kitchen/dishwasher from pre bussing, there were large amounts of uneaten and or pushed around the plate have eaten dishes. I counted 26 plates in row from 5 tables (that were cleared) with LARGE left portions of food. That is real menu review right there. Again, thank heavens for the wine selection, that HAS to be what is making the money. I mean google them and look at the current menu, you will see what I mean. So ... two stars on menu, I was so bummed as I had really high hopes. Now to pricing, it's in the higher end and for the money you would think ( in Texas) there would be more steak or strong fish dishes. Side were also really " pubic TV-ish" ( you find some surprises once and awhile, but for the most boring and only exciting for a few people). This place was packed, and as I heard from the table next to us " why are there so many people in here? ( literal eye roll and head shake) as they sent back their food for the second time ( both plates) . So In short if you are meeting friends for drinks and want to dust a couple bottles of vino with a hummus appetizer ( carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, pita slices and sprinkled feta cheese with parsley ) then "book it Dano", but if you are hungry with a family and don't feel like spending 140 bucks on "basic" tasting fails, may I suggest anyone of a number of places. When the Andes mints at the front door on your way out are the best part of the meal, well maybe a re-exam of the current menu is In order. So bummed this was not anywhere to the level of what we had heard. read more

Tried this place out for lunch today after reviewing other yelp reviews. Chose the avocado salad and added grilled chicken. It was flavorful, light but filling. Didn't try the pita bread but it looked good. Would come back just for this salad alone. Service was good, the staff was friendly. All servers were wearing masks. We loved the drinks and dessert!!! We got there in time for happy hour and were very pleased to see that there was a special on all cocktails. The crab dip was a little bit too salty but the pita bread was amazing. I loved my artichokes. I took a star off because the lighting is incredibly dark in the main dining room and the noise level was much higher than we had anticipated. The patio looks so inviting and will be lovely to revisit in the fall. The section between the very large bar and patio is nice for a little more of a family friendly setting. Overall, I would say that the atmosphere is geared more towards date night and social get-togethers. The staff was incredibly friendly and management made sure to stop by our table and welcome us as first-time guests. read more

It was a cold night and we were in a hurry. They came to us and asked if we wanted to eat out on the patio for faster service. I said yes and off we went. They had heaters but I was cold because I was in shorts. The owner/manager who came to check on us (realizing we were hesitant to go outside) asked how we were doing and I told him I'm cold because of my shorts and he legit took off his jacket and insisted I put on my legs for warmth. Atmosphere: 5/5. I love the area, the decor is nice, a bit dim inside but has a good relaxed feel to it. The chairs were mainly wooden, kind of a rustic feel but still trendy, noticed customers who dressed both casual and dressy/business Food: 4/5. My boyfriend's meatball pasta was pretty good with a poached egg on top, meatballs were flavorful but pasta was a wee bit dry. I ordered the smaller portion of the naked avocado salad, threw me off that the salad was $8 but to add shrimp is $4.. But I needed something to go with the plain avocado, tomato, and red onion on flatbread. To order the small one is half of the amount they would've given you for the bigger sized ($12) so I'm not sure why they charge the same for the meat even when I assume that they add a smaller portion for the smaller salad, oh well. Drink: 4/5 Blackberry smash, well blended, the way I like my vodka/fruit drinks, not a very strong one though, still tasty! Been here a few more times since my first review and I'm upping it to 4 stars. Each time has been better than the last and the food has been great each time. My last visit I had the Akaushi Burger and that is what did it. That is one of the best burgers I've had in awhile. My wife and I had the Crab Dip for a app snack and it is very rich but it is damn good. The times before last we each ordered a few of the pizzas with a group and all of them were good and tasted different. Wash it down with a glass of vino and you're good. Week nights seem to be chill and a good place to relax for dinner. We will be back. read more

I have always loved TruFire, but after the recent experience I had there, I love them even more. The other day after a long, tiring day at work I called in an order for pick-up. I informed them that I would just grab my food curbside instead of coming in to grab it since I am a nurse and was in my scrubs and didn't want to risk exposing anyone to anything in the midst of this pandemic. When I got there the lady who brought my food out informed me that my food was covered compliments of the manager and thanked me for my service. I was so shocked by this random act of kindness that it brought me to tears. I will never forget this unexpected blessing I received from TruFire in the middle of all this craziness and uncertainty, and I will forever be a loyal and thankful customer. read more
