This review is for take-out only. I ordered the Salmon Citrus Roll and the Veggie Tempura Appetizer, which were both excellent. The roll had a lot of fresh, high quality salmon. I appreciated the separately packed sauce, so I was able to control how much to add. The sauce was a rich mayo-teriyaki combo. The Veggie Tempura was great, too, but I would've preferred a little more variety. It was mostly potato, eggplant, and Kabocha squash. I wish it had broccoli and string beans for more fiber and texture. There is metered parking only, which can be a gamble. The side street parking is limited to permit restrictions, so make sure to read the signs. I live closeby, and parking enforcement circles often. The ambiance looked relatively casual--perfect for a 2nd date or group hangout. Overall, I would come again. read more

If I'm ever in the area, I try to pop into here because the vibes and sushi are immaculate. I feel like Wendy treats everyone like they're her favorite guest - which speaks to the good service and attention to detail. Some of my favorite bites here are the: Hye 2, Salmon belly, and scallops. There is a variety of things you can order from sashimi to special rolls and maki. If you're dining with sushi lovers, there is definitely something for everyone. Now, parking is not great because it's all street parking. Service was outstanding; the owner was welcoming and attentive, even as the place began to fill with other customers. The highlight was Chef. I ordered a lovely miso soup and cucumber salad to start. Then the sushi started to arrive: pink scallop, halibut, and albacore. The sushi was served simply with just the fish, rice, and a splash of sauce to complement each bite. First time trying Tsuri. Heads up, the only parking available is street parking. I got there as soon as it was opening, so I didn't have any problem with finding parking. It was really nice being there as soon as it open because the host and chefs were able to focus on us and kept the food coming. My favorite thing on the menu was the Hye II. I believe I spelled it correct. The ambiance of the place was really nice. I like to rate my places from 1 to 10. 1 through 3 - will never comeback 4 through 5.8 - will come back if someone I'm with wants to try the spot 5.9 though 7.0 -will come back 7.1 through 9.9 will make an effort to come back and I would recommend the spot 10.0 is the best place! (Haven't had a 10 because there is always a better place out there. My rating for this place is 7.2 (Will you come back? I usually never give a sushi place a 10/10 but honestly this place has the best hostess, service, and food. I am so grateful to have this as my go to la sushi spot. They use super fresh fish and done overload it with sauce. Wendy, the owner, really does an amazing job welcoming her guests and giving recommendations. Also the sushi is not overloaded with sauces. I feel like Tsuri really values keeping the taste of fish the star. They pair with really grate ingredients and don't make it too heavy. Ordered from Grubhub and my order arrived in a timely fashion. Originally, I wanted to order the Chirashi Donburi with a side of oshinko, a few different kinds of nigiri, a handroll, and some mixed tempura; however, I'm soo glad I reeled myself in because I don't know if I could have eaten everything I originally wanted all in one sitting, and also, not guna lie, I simply can't afford to go all out like that right now. Although I thought I was being modest and fiscally responsible by ordering less food, my total still came out to $60 for just myself, and I feel like I didn't even really order that much food. I ordered 1 eel avocado handroll; nigiri: 1 salmon belly, 1 amberjack, and 1 sea bream; and a green tea matcha lemonade. I always forget that most sushi chefs include shiso leaves with amberjack, and I really dislike the taste of shiso. Sadly, the taste of the shiso rubbed off onto one piece of the salmon belly, which was still tasty regardless. I appreciated the generous cuts of fish. Pretty delectable overall. The eel and avocado handroll was the highlight of my meal; the portion of eel was quite generous for only $8.50 and the avocado was perfectly ripe. I've had issues with other sushi places using cement hard avocados or creepy greyish-green zombie avocados, but this one was just right! Sadly, the matcha lemonade was a let down. It tasted so much better in my head. If I decide to dine here again, I think I'll skip Grubhub and eat at the actual restaurant. I have a feeling that would make my experience a 5-star! read more

It's been a long time since I've been here- pre-Covid days and I was excited to try it again. My friend and I ordered the sushi omakase and we were disappointed when we ate the first tray of four that came out. The rice felt old and dry, and the sushi tasted thin and rubbery. The second tray had two that tasted fresher and more moist, but overall we were disappointed especially because we love sushi. We also both had abnormal bowel movements afterwards and didn't feel the best after dinner. Unfortunately probably won't come back, but glad everyone else likes it. read more
