Made a reservation on open table and definitely recommend having a reservation. Very small and quaint sushi place. Love the quality. Amazing service. Will be back.

Felt the need to update my review given the last one was 2 years ago! Happy to say the place still does not disappoint. I ordered some salmon peaces to go and it was so fresh and delicious! It was about an hour from closing time but they were still busy and accepting more orders and even had a few people dining in. I'm glad to know the food is still delicious. Wish I was closer to it I would've frequented it more often.

Cute spot! Food was good, but nothing too special. Our server was very kind and paced everything well. Overall good experience!

STAY AWAY. Worst service! Very disappointed . What I ordered is not what I got I asked for cucumber wrap no rice which they did but the yellowtail roll is not like photo it's giant very oddly cut chunks As u see the photo is minced I called to to let them know if issue and they could care less First time trying I won't be going here anymore Staff was very rude Didn't take any responsibility and blamed it on Uber eats Obv Uber eats said they can't do anything and store needs to take care of it Horrible service!!! And misrepresenting

Tucked away and right off Melrose, this is spot is one of LA's true sushi treasures. The Owner Wendy is the heart and soul of the restaurant - a force of good energy who makes every guest feel like a regular. The sushi is always insanely fresh, the hand rolls are perfection, the Shishido peppers never miss and the agetashi tofu is my personal fav along with any crispy rice. The vibe is intimate but still fun - truly perfect for date night. Always sit at the sushi bar if you can! Watching the chefs work is part of the magic.

Food: Very good sushi. The baked crab. The crispy rice...all of it. I especially appreciate the soy paper option. Perfect, after a rainy shopping day on Melrose. Service: Professional, friendly and efficient. We were seated quickly...it was a quiet Tuesday night. Ambiance: Kind of dark and relaxing. Not very busy when we visited so it was nice and quiet. Getting more and more difficult to find quiet spots in the city. Enjoy this one while you can.

Too Long;Didn't Read - I love this place and highly recommend it. I've been going to Tsuri for a few years now. The staff are super nice and they remember people that come back. Some of the newer wait-staff can be a little inattentive at times, but this happening everywhere. The food is fantastic and there are some great original rolls. I recommend trying the Hye or Hye 2 as a starter while you decide on what rolls to get. I haven't had a bad roll yet. The restaurant is a bit small, but is very cozy. There isn't a bad place to sit in the whole place. On nights where it may be crowded, make a reservation in advance so you don't have to wait. Parking is scarce. The chefs wear cool hats and this adds to the cool-factor.

Came here on Valentine's Day and the food and service were superb. This was our first time here and we will definitely coming back. Everything we ordered was soooo good. Started with the Toro sashimi which was so fresh and buttery. Next a few orders of saba and hirame sushi and then a hot dish the miso cod. Portion size for the cod was very generous. Every bite was mouth watering. I also ordered the udon as I was craving soup on a cold night and the flavors and noodles hit the spot. Only downside is parking but it's expected for this area. If you can find street parking on Melrose you are a winner!

Sashimi were very delicious and high quality. )-/ thick cut and no weird fishy smell. Skewers were also very thick and way bigger than i expected. Love the beef tongue the most. The shrimp and cauliflower tempura basically taste the same (sweet and sour). Def disappointed at this bc we expected the typical tempura without being soaked in the red sauce. Agedashi tofu was also just ok. It was kinda soggy even though we ate it immediately. The wasabi is good though and parking is $8 in the personal lot (more expensive bc we paid with card). I give it 5 stars because: - The generous portion and yummy sashimi and skewers. - Service is also fast and the waitress serving us was very friendly! - We brought few slices of cakes and there is no cake fee. Even if don't like seabass, you must try this one! it's buttery, perfectly charred and melts in your mouth. It's so rich and comforting, the fish is always perfectly cooked, and it's more than enough food for two people. Be sure to order a side of seaweed and make your own hand rolls at the table. The kabocha salad is also unexpectedly delicious and pairs well with the other indulgent items in this order. They recently moved next door and they may be overbooking themselves so expect to wait quite a while- even if you have reservations.

There are many more flavorful authentic options throughout LA. The service was, well, nonexistent. The server never checked up on our table after the food was served. There's a strong possibility we would've ordered more food, definitely more beverages, had he checked on our table. At one point, a woman who appeared to be manager/owner walked into the restaurant, and her and server went to a booth at the back of the restaurant, closed the curtains and left the restaurant with no discernible servers for the duration of their "meeting". It took over 20 mins to simply pay for the meal. Overheard a table over confronting the server over a discrepancy over the tip amount, the 20% amount on the pay machine actually being more than 20% of the bill. This tracks with what others have cautioned. Location and ambiance is lovely, but not enough to warrant a revisit.

Seasonal ingredients from Japan and California are used to curate the finest delicacies. Therefore you're likely to try various specials with the changing seasons. I loved the Zensai which presented 7 small palate warming appetizer bites. Comes in a cute bento box like format. The creamy potato puree and tempura bites were my favorites. For the main course, I absolutely loved the Uni and Dungeness crab....so exceptional. Served in an actual Uni shell and filled with warm Dungeness crab meat and broth, egg white soufflé, and topped with a whole Uni. This should be their top dish. Another phenomenal course was the Rockfish. The fish complimented very well with the snap peas and kelp which brought out the flavor of the rockfish. Perfect!!! We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!
