Pad See Ei (Mild)
Brian J.

I've been meaning to try this place as it's been recommended to me by coworkers. Sat in on a Friday afternoon and ordered the tom yum soup, imperial rolls, iced coffee, and pad see ew. Overall a pretty good experience and my favorite would be the soup. Price wise you get a lot of food and it's valued well. I think the pad see ew needed a bit more flavor but overall a recommended spot for your Thai food needs.

First time here and the place was welcoming and got my party of 3 seated and served with drinks right away. I appreciated how our server refilled our drinks and checked in once the food was served to make sure everything was ok. As a vegetarian, they had many options. I ordered the pad thai. It was decent. It lacked a lot of flavor and the noodles had a sort of rubbery texture and they clumped together. The dish could use some sort of garlic or peanut sauce. I think they could also add more vegetables in the dish itself to make it more complete. The Eggplant dish and the Yellow Curry dish was well flavored. I like how it came with rice at no additional charge. The mango sweet rice dish could use more coconut sauce. Overall, the place was not bad, but there are definitely other Thai places to check out.

We were glad that we're able to dine here. We were happy with the food and service overall The price was reasonable too.

I told him I had plenty of cash, but he didn't want to take my order until I showed him my money. I ordered a fresh roll, a chicken satay, and a pad Thai. He told me the same and I paid him plus a 25% tip. I asked for chop sticks. No response. I returned on time and the order was ready. The fresh rolls were nothing but brown shredded iceberg lettuce with slivers of shrimp in a rice paper roll. It was difficult to eat and not worth the effort. The pad Thai was okay, but nothing special. The peanut sauce was very good. The cucumber salad was abundant! I think he charged me for a separate order and included a full salad. It was good, but not that fresh. The chicken satay was okay, but a little dry. Again, the peanut sauce was helpful. The tables were full when I ordered and when I picked up my food. I think it is more a matter of my preference and expectations, perhaps. Although, brown, wilted iceberg lettuce as the only thing in a fresh roll is not acceptable.

The papaya salad, and the tofu satay are our favorites. The main entrees are so so, and I agree with other reviews saying the flavors sometimes are bland and not seasoned authentically. The real problem, though, is that the employees are just plain mean. I mean straight up like you are bothering them if you ask for anything. And, like another person said in their review, they literally throw the plates on your table and walk away. This has happened to us with multiple servers. They don't ask if you need anything else or how is everything ...they literally do a drive by to drop the food and keep going. I have seen servers drop off food to a table with a smile, and then the moment they turn their head from the seated party, they roll their eyes and rush back to the kitchen. It feels kind of cringe, you know, to feel like these people hate us. So weird. Last night, I wanted to ask that the seasonings were for the tofu satay. and I had to flag down a server, to which he seemed like I was bothering him with my question. I tried to warm him up by sharing how much we like that dish. He did a quick smile, then took a deep, exasperated breath as he turned and rushed off immediately after answering the question. There is no warmth here. I get that they are busy, but this is something I haven't experienced anywhere else, and to this degree. Yikes.

It was not busy at all on a Sunday so we were seated right away. We ordered the fresh rolls and the crab rangoons for starters and I ordered the wonton soup for my main. The fresh rolls were indeed fresh, filled with carrots, cucumbers, avocados, and apple. The peanut sauce it came with was warm and savory, it paired well with the rolls. The crab rangoons were good too, smaller than what I was expecting, but it was executed well. The filling of cream cheese and imitation crab was rich and creamy, which went well with the sweet chili sauce it came with. The outer shell was fried and crispy, and the filling was generous for the small outer wrapper. The wonton soup is definitely large enough for a main, it had maybe 8-10 wontons, slices of bbq pork, 2 pieces of whole shrimp, and some type of spinachy vegetable. The broth was light yet flavorful, and I added some chili flake to make it spicy. The wonton wrappers were nice, but I found the filling to be dry and rough. It didn't have any larger pieces of snappy shrimp that I was looking for, it was all minced small with the pork and the filling itself was small compared to the wonton wrapper. Besides that, I liked everything else in the soup, the bbq pork, the whole shrimp, and the veggies were all good quality and cooked well. My bf got the tofu kra-prow krob, and the tofu was fried really well and covered in a nice sweet and spicy sauce. He had this with rice, but his only critique is he wished there were veggies or something else in the dish besides fried tofu and cashews. The other 2 people at our table ordered noodles, and they enjoyed both their pad kee mao and the pad see ew. Service was pretty attentive, our small water glasses were refilled a good amount, and the food was good overall. This is a solid place for yummy Thai food, with ample parking close by and a nice staff.

The flavors were authentic and flavorful without being overly Americanized. The pork curry was absolutely delicious and is definitely a must-order. I also got the tea leaf salad and immediately wished I had ordered the large because you can never have enough tea leaf salad. The palata was a great starter -- flaky, warm, and exactly what you'd want. The miso black cod was another standout. The broth it was simmered in was incredibly flavorful, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The garlic noodles were also done really well with the right noodles and great flavor -- honestly better than some places known specifically for garlic noodles. And of course, the coconut rice is always worth ordering. We skipped dessert since nothing really stood out, but I would love to see them add more traditional Burmese desserts like faluda in the future. Parking wasn't too difficult, especially if you circle around the back neighborhood area. The wait was reasonable, the outdoor patio seating was nice, and the service was attentive throughout the meal. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when craving Burmese food.

Ordering online is super easy and smooth, which makes grabbing food on the go really convenient. Ambiance & Interior Design What really stood out to me is how thoughtfully the space is designed. The lighting creates a warm, romantic vibe without feeling overdone. It's not a huge place, but that actually works in its favor--it feels cozy and comfortable. There are two distinct dining areas: one with standard tables and chairs, and another with built-in benches and tables that adds an extra layer of intimacy. Food Quality The food is incredible. The yellow curry with chicken was rich and flavorful, and the pad see ew was just as satisfying--perfectly cooked with great balance. Service The service is very attentive, and everyone there is genuinely kind and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better.
