Quick service and fantastic subs. Today was my first visit and I couldn't recommend them enough!

If I had to review the food alone this is a sold 5 star sub shop. I had the gourmet Italian and it was great. The meats and bread were very tasty. I haven't been to this location in years and the vibe inside has not changed one bit.....reminds of an old school sub shop I would frequent while a youth growing up on the East coast. I will definitely stop again the next time I am in the area. Why deduct a star? A small cup for a fountain drink is $3.25. A small snack size bag of chips is $2.50. I asked for extra peppers and I was charged $.75. Come on man. All added together after tax I was charged $7.00 outside of my sandwich price. I will come back for the sandwich and take it to go or just skip the chips and drink water, unless water is a charge also. I hate to whine because the sandwich is actually really great but these other prices are ridiculous and may keep others from coming back. read more

Nothing better than a local shop doing things right for a very long time! Lots of option and a must try! Italian is my fave but everything is good here, soups wraps,salads! They take great pride in making it the way you like it! Main root soda and great chip options! One of the best sandwiches I've had. It's hard to find spots like this. I tried the Classic Italian sub, it was filled wish fresh veggies and deli meat. Due to COVID, they keep guests outside of the shop and brought the food to the car. The process felt safe and helped limit interaction. I appreciate the extra caution. I'd highly recommend stopping by for lunch. It is pricey, but in my opinion it's worth it for what you get. read more

Yes, this place is awesome! I walked in and the place smelled great. The gentleman at the counter informed me that it was the smell of cookies that just came out of the oven. Ok. Feed me. I ordered a cold Austin club sandwich since it's my first time eating here. I'm not a fan of the oil & vinegar treatment but everything else on it worked perfectly. The bread is perfect people. I scanned the menu while waiting outside for the grub and they have some pretty good looking subs here. My sandwich was excellent, the staff was cool and I'll be back. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading all the praise. I got an excellent Philly Cheesesteak and a delightful black and white cookie. I'm not an authority on cheesesteak but this one seemed about the same as other excellent cheesesteaks I've eaten. Quite literally the best sub I've ever had*. The gourmet Italian is probably their most popular sub (and for good reason...). Cold cuts sliced to thin perfection, veggies and accoutrement always cold, crisp and fresh. The key to a GREAT sandwich, tho? The bread!! and whomever is responsible for makin the bread that Tucci uses deserves a paid vacation, frfr. Service is always great and your sub always comes with a smile. I usually manage to complicate things a bit by getting a lot of the sauces on side, modifications, etc, but it never seems to faze 'em. Pro tip: get the garlic aioli on whatever you order. First time trying this place, which makes me sad knowing how much I've missed out on since moving to Austin. I ordered a build your own half sub on wheat bread with turkey, onions, pepper jack cheese, sweet peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, oils, vinegar, and oregano. The ingredients were so fresh and made for an incredibly tasty sandwich. I just wish the half sandwich was a little bigger for the price. I had chips as well and still felt a little hungry after finishing my meal. Overall, I would highly recommend trying this place if you're in the mood for a sub sandwich. Just gauge your hunger and go for the whole sandwich if you're anywhere over the "I'm not starving, but I could eat" mark. Tucci's was a good find for us. Looking for somewhere new to try, we checked Yelp and saw the reviews, and decided to give them a try. The subs are great. Prices are fair, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They will ask you what you like, and will customize your sandwich for you, and make suggestions of what to add to it. The prep table has five different peppers to choose from. This was a sign that Tucci's knows what they are doing. The high energy staff knows how to balance all the meats and the condiments. They use only Boars Head meats and really fresh condiments and bread. The flavor combinations are off the charts. We've enjoyed the Classic Italian, the Gourmet Italian, the Cajun Turkey Breast, PawPaw's Grilled Cheese with Jalapenos, and their Philly Cheesesteak. All have been delicious, and there are even more on the menu to try next time! read more

Getting right to the point, other local sandwich spots are much better. Honestly, there was nothing special about my sandwich. Annoyingly, I ordered the whole Gourmet Italian which had "Prosciutto, Capicollo, Black Pepper Ham, Genoa Salami" but asked for it without the Salami. The guy immediately and condescendingly replied that it would no longer be a Gourmet Italian and that it would be a Build Your Own. Okay fine, I don't care what you call it just make my sandwich. Then when I am charged, instead of being charged less because it had one less meat I'm charged $0.50 more (making my sandwich $17 instead of, at least, the $16.50 that is the Gourmet Italian with 4 meats). So ridiculous. But, again, on top of that the sandwich was mediocre at best. I wouldn't recommend. read more

I enjoyed what I got which was the Italian beef. It says to be patient because everything is made fresh but mine definitely came out within 60 seconds of my order being placed. The person I was with had to wait about 15 minutes for a Philly cheesesteak. We both enjoyed our sandwiches though and i love the laid back vibe. No table service you order at the counter and they call you when your order is ready. Very friendly stafff. read more

I arrived at Southside Subs so hungry that I forgot to take a shot of the superbly crafted Philly cheesesteak before it went down the hatch! That minor Yelp glitch aside, I have to recommend this place. Fast, friendly service in an old-school style sandwich shop that focuses on the basics: turning out really good food. I can't really call it more than 'Philly style' as it uses a different kind of bread, and one that is open on both sides so that more than a careful, measured bite leads to the hot filling flopping out. But said filling is delicious, and I'll definitely be back to try their meatball sub, or one of their cold Italian ones. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Randomly stopped by Tucci's when leaving Austin for a road trip and oh. my. god. I got the Meatball Sub and it was probably the best sub I've ever had!! Words just can't even describe the perfection that was served to me. My boyfriend got the Pastrami Sub and had to pull over to "fully enjoy the experience". I've been here a couple of times. The atmosphere is laid back and the service is always spot on. The staff seems to be a fan of the sandwiches themselves and take care when putting them together. I've ordered a couple of cold subs (been too hot to order a hot sub) and they did not disappoint. The garlic mayo is awesome and I love that they have a variety of peppers and pepper relish to choose from. I believe the meat is all boar's head and is pretty tasty. The construction method is unique, with the meat going on last. It makes for a sandwich where each bite gives you meat, veggies and sauce. Overall, a good sub for a good price. read more

First time here, Coty is working,just rode 20 miles on my bicycle and in the mood for a chicken Philly. 1. You can have the sub made to order. I opted for the jalapeño & banana pepper topped with provolone...the way I like. 2. Peppers were cooked in with the meat to soak flavor...the way I like. 3. Bread is fresh...SUPER IMPORTANT. 4. Sandwich is perfect size with regular meat. Not a bite too much, just enough to fill me up and get me back on the road. The only bad thing is they use the Steak'em style chicken and not chicken breast. All in all, good sandwich. I recommend it for a quick bite or a casual dine in to get out of the sun. read more
