We arrived on a busy Saturday night and were greeted be a delightful woman who assured us that our wait time would be enjoyable despite the 45 minute estimated time. SHE WAS RIGHT!! Great music, comfortable couches and quick drink service. The lodge style woodwork and locally inspired decor (mounted moose head ) was inspired. Let me just say our food was amazing. Two of our party had the hearty Shepard's Pie...both gave it high marks for portion & flavor. The meatloaf & a burger were the other meals and both were devoured to "clean plate" status Our waitress Abby was super attentive despite the full house. For a party of 10 with lots of kids they told us 45 minutes- no big deal- and then when we checked in the hostess went to her manager and said we were "harassing" her. You are in the hospitality industry. The manage was then insanely rude and then 10 minutes later they sent their "big guy" out to tell us we're off the list and could not even wait for the table we'd already been waiting for. read more

The Cajun chicken Alfredo was absolutely delicious. Also tasty: blueberry lemonade and the buffalo wings (that bleu cheese is dayummmm good). Service was exceptionally friendly. We finished up with a Belgian waffle sundae special that was monstrous and could feed a family of four. Excellent food for the area and a nice woody, cozy restaurant too. This review is for the service, not the food (which was quite good). I work in a service business which is why I find it particularly offensive when someone fails miserably and makes no attempt to recover or compensate in any way. And I tried to be positive... I really really did. My wife and I went Tuckerman's tonight with our two young kids, which is always a dicey endeavor, but today they were actually pretty cooperative. Seated right away @ 7:15. Awesome! First beer I ordered, "we're out of that," second beer "we're out of that too." Luckily they had one more IPA on the menu (I don't count Harpoon), so I wasn't totally out of luck. And I'm still feeling good since this place was highly recommended by a friend. The problems came after we ordered our meals. Because we NEVER saw our server again until after we were finished (Someone else came and dropped our entrees off). The biggest problem was that I had also ordered a salad which never showed up. The second issue was that I would have loved to order another beer had I been given the chance. After everything was eaten and the window for a second beer had long closed, the server appeared and simply stated "I'm sorry I never checked on you" with no additional explanation. My wife asked for the check and, predicatably, we were charged for the no-show salad. When my wife pointed out that we had never gotten it, the young woman said "oh, I can just take that off." No apology, no explanation. The real lesson here (if anyone at Tuckerman's cares) is that there was still a chance to turn this around. Any gesture that acknowledged this service was not up to their standards would have gone a long way. Comping a beer? A small desert? Even a coupon for future use? But to provide such inadequate service, not deliver the full meal that was ordered, never check in once, and then not even apologize for the error, is just so tone deaf. One ounce of thoughtfulness toward service recovery would have created a very different ending to my night, and left a completely different impression of this place. I wish I had the nerve to leave a less-than-20% tip when service deserves it, but I can't, so sadly the server probably will learn nothing from this round of mistakes. Plus, the establishment is ultimately responsible for the training, culture, and attitude of their staff, so maybe this is just the way they do business. There are many options for dining in the area. Despite having a DELICIOUS meatloaf, I wouldn't recommend wasting an evening here. read more

We were staying just down the street at an air B&B and this spot was recommended by our host. Upon arriving, we were impressed by the local beer menu and the attention paid to us by the bartenders. However, as it got busy their attention waned. It also become apparent that the staff was not knowledgeable of the beer list. hubby's clam chowder, flavored with Bacon was a highlight of our meal. The smoky flavor was excellent. However, the marinara sauce on his margarita pizza was more spaghetti-like than pizza in consistency and flavor. The fish and chips special, featuring haddock was tasty. Not overly battered and fairly crisp. Dessert was the downfall of our evening. There were many good options, however we had questions due to my nut allergy. We attempted to order three times. When we did get the bartender's attention, she did not seem to take our ingredient question seriously. This was incredibly clear when we ordered one item which we were assured was pecan-free and another item was presented to us. While it was pecan-free it was not what we ordered. Despite the mix-up we accepted the item, when it was clear that it was pecan-free, because we did not want it to go to waste. We were still charged full price despite The bartender messing up our order, which could have led to a life-threatening allergic reaction. read more

Well it was the first time we made it here (kinda the first time since it was just a take out order). The Shepard's pie was very good and the family went crazy over the cornbread. Seriously crazy. The Inferno Burger and Cobb Salad were bit hits. The Poutine and traditional burger were favorites as well. My wife and I went on our yearly trip to North Conway. We always try new places based on yelp reviews and we were so happy we chose to go to Tuckerman's. We had poutine and the artichoke dip for appetizers and then had buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and short rib Marsala for dinner. Don't judge us we were on vacation. All of the food was delicious! Service was also great. Our waitress Niki was very attentive and made sure our experience was great. We almost never go back to the same spot but we will definitely be back to Tuckermans!! After peak bagging the Carter Mountains we decided to head out for dindin. Twas an absolutely beautiful summer night so we thought having an early-ish dinner would be smart so we got to Tuckermans at around 545. Walked and boom, got the high top near the bar I requested. Our server was fine. Friendly and checked on us just maybe enough. From the hike and heat we did need more water, but when asked he delivered and that's good enough. Next was our app and drink order. We ordered the poutine and I got a dirty vodka martini and my brother ordered a Switchback brew. The poutine...was not poutine. It had onions rings, fries, and pulled pork. It had some sort of white sauce on some of the fries - I guess it was gravy. It just straight up wasn't poutine. Which I believe is fries, cheese curd and gravy. We scarfed it anyways. We were hungry. My drink while fine was supposed to come with blue cheese olives. And...it came with big empty olives. Instantly a downer. For you martini people you know how much those baby blues pull the martini together. C'est la vie. My brother enjoyed the beer. Whatever. Dindin time. I ordered some spicy penne meal that came with chicken and vegetables. Nice heat and decent veggies, but the chicken was quite weak. Sinewy bites and to make it even worse, it was initially breaded, but since they must have most likely just microwaved it all together to heat it up, the breaded chicken was now soft and thus, stupid. Make the pasta dinner, make the chicken and place the chicken on top. Tough stuff. My brother got the Inferno burger. My brother likes anything and everything, so he thought the burger was fine. He just thought it was too big height wise. You have to squeeze the burger (which is never a good thing for a slew of reasons) and then chomp down. He also thought the buns, which was naan bread, was a choice that was basically just trying to be original. So yeah, with all said and done, this was a super typical experience. Would I go back? We just love Tuckerman's!! Families are welcome and there is a really great bar area. Big parties do not seem to be a problem. They have set up a tent for social distancing while diners wait during busy times. Delicious food, terrific potato skins, really good choices for entrees, dessert choices are awesome. Cocktails were very good and they have a nice selection of beers on tap and bottled. We will definitely be back!! Ps. The cornbread is to die for. read more

I am 67 years old. I have eaten thousands of burgers. Tuckerman's BBQ Burger, which I had last night, made it to the top 10 before I wiped the sticky juice from my fingers. Perfectly done 8 oz patty, cheese, bacon, barbecue sauce, topped with lettuce, tomato and an onion ring. Yum! Our server, Dara, was excellent, attentive and good humored. She didn't call us "guys" once. When traveling, we typically don't return to restaurants, preferring to try something new. But next time we're in the area, we'll be back at Tuckerman's for a BBQ Burger. read more

This place was awesome! We haven't been here in over 5+ years. The food was outstanding , we had the meatloaf and prime rib, as well as several other dishes. They have a great draft beer list with awesome prices. At the request of our server, we tried the "Bear Balls" which were so mouthwatering and delicious!! Our server Marieta was off the hook and was so energetic. Amazing Food, wonderful service. Wish this restaurant was back home. Six of us had dinner here tonight. Three of us opted for the Shepherds Pie. None of us were starving when we got there and it was a good size portion. I thought it was fantastic. My mom thought it could use 'more taste' and all my aunt would say was "it's different" ( she's never had shepherds pie before). All three plates were empty and every saying how they were so stuffed they couldn't move. Therefore I'm thinking everyone really agreed with me that it was fantastic but the others didn't want to admit it The other three ate pot roast, chicken park, onion soup, and Kung Pau chicken. Has expanded since we were last here! We were told a 30 min wait but they seated us in about 15 minutes. Waitress was good, not overly waitressy but good. We had the baked haddock and the ribeye special. Food was so A-mazing!!! Atmosphere is a lot more noisy than I had expected, but the restaurant is so good, I overlooked that. It used to be cozy and quiet but it has such a good reputation I am sure they expanded to accommodate their fans. Overall a great meal!! read more

This was the best shepherds pie I have ever eaten (the secret seems to be adding corn, among other things), and I can't recommend it enough. It was so memorable that a year after happening upon it by accident, we were in the area again and frantically googling restaurants in the area with phenomenal meat loaf and shepherds pie. (That was enough to find it. I heard from several people that their lobster rolls are also the best, and if I'd had time and capacity I would have tested that out.) The attached inn is also excellent. If you're in the area for Story Land or hiking or foliage, this restaurant and accommodations are the best around. read more

Enjoyed an excellent dinner this evening at this establishment. We went at about 5:30 on a Sunday and we were able to sit outside. Which always adds points for my girlfriend. The menu isn't the biggest but it has enough for every pallet and a good choice of daily specials. They also have a descent beer selection. We had the prime rib sandwich and the pot roast sandwich. My girlfriend really enjoyed her sandwich. However it was supposed to come with Swiss cheese, and it was definitely not in the sandwich. It was still good enough not to complain however. Her side was the green beans with red peppers. Which seemed crisp and fresh. I had the small house salad with ranch dressing. The size of the salad was perfect and the dressing was to die for. Next for me came the pot roast sandwich. Which had some cranberry mixes in with a heavy like sauce. The meat was pulled as if it were pulled pork. I had a side of fried which were excellent. The sandwich came with a side of gravy which really brought the meal together. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area. read more

I ordered a takeout meal on Thanksgiving day. It was ready for pickup precisely when I was told it would be. And my 3 course meal was wonderful! I chose a Caesar salad, the turkey dinner, and chocolate silk pie for dessert. Everything was perfect, nicely flavored, warm enough to eat right away and generous portion. I have eaten here often. Went to tuckermans restaurant last night for dinner... what a great experience from the hostess at the front to our amazing waitress Lindsey and the food was AMAZING!!! We were greeted with a friendly smile from the start and Lindsey our waitress was right on ... she was friendly attentive great st her job ... then the food and drinks everything was top notch we had great margaritas to start and the salad were fresh with homemade salad dressing ... Our entrees were prime rib and meatloaf the flavor for both were outstanding... then we topped it off with a delicious warm brownie sundae... the whole experience was amazing ... so don't miss out on this great restaurant you will not be disappointed!!!!! read more

Hands down the BEST food in the area. It was our second time staying in the North Conway area and a good majority of the restaurants have been sub par boring bar food. The menu, staff, and food at Tuckerman's was nothing short of great. The hostess was a vibrant woman who made you not mind waiting. Our waitress Lindsey was awesome! Answered every question we had, checked in on us at the right times, and gave her honest opinion with selections. She was on point to say the least. We shared the cornbread skillet which was tasty. The veal porterhouse was cooked perfect! Again, best dish in the area. The drinks we on point too! Especially the Habanero Margarita. All in all it was a great experience which we'll be doing again. This was on my list of restaurants to visit during our stay in the White Mountain Region in NH.. We were glad we went!!! On our first visit we were not looking for a hefty meal but for lighter choices; we both started with a cup of their delicious New England clam chowder.. the day was cold and dreary and it was just what we needed!!! The soups were steamy hot, creamy full of clams with a slight hint of bacon, absolutely wholesome!!! My husband ordered a Caesar Salad with salmon and I ordered one of their specialty sandwiches, the Prime Rib Telera, both choices were well presented and prepared. On our second visit we took advantage of their Tuesday Prime Rib Meal Special, two 12oz prime rib meals with a shared dessert for $28! This restaurant as many others we encountered in the area is a farm to table kind of place and the meat was one of the best tasting we had in a while!! Not sure what happened to this place, but down hill since the renovations. This was always a go to place- warm, comforting environment, good food. Well they have lost one of the most important features that makes a restaurant and that's the good food! Portions have gotten smaller, which isn't a big loss in most cases. The seasoning is lacking or non existent. Literally no salt and pepper on anything! The kids didn't even like the battered chicken tenders- which was quite the bummer. The 22oz prime rib ( looked more like a 12-16oz) was overpriced at $40! The waitress was fantastic and more than accommodating. She was the reason I gave the 2 stars instead of less. Very disappointing. Seems as though we pay for the renovations in more than one way. read more

The place was very busy on a Monday night; but that is expected in the summer. Our drinks and appetizers arrived and were delicious! For my entree I selected the cranberry pot roast the flavor was superb. Hubby got the chicken sandwich and indicated it was very good. Our friends got the meatloaf and found it to be moist and tasty.
