I had high hopes arriving to a smoker out back it had a nice smell as I approached the building. Staff were nice and I did not have to wait very long for my food which was a pulled pork sandwich with a side of tater tots. I was very disappointed when I bit into a cold, tough, gritty pulled pork sandwich. It did not have much flavor besides the sauce they put on it. Onto the tater tots they came out hot but again lacking flavor almost like they didn't even put salt on it. Im not one to waste food being on a tight budget but I couldn't finish the meal due to it being cold and flavorless. Second, I tried to eat it and as I swallowed something was scratching me at the top of my throat so I gagged it back up. A whole piece of broken glass. Decided to try this establishment today. Love supporting my people. The gentleman who helped me was friendly and smiled. They have a good vibe and definitely work the space they are in. The pulled chicken sandwich (misspelled on the menu) was good. The bread was fresh, and they did not drown it in bbq sauce, just enough. The green beans were canned beans and not fresh and could have used seasoning. (Just opened can and heated.) I had 2 orders of green beans one was fresh out the can and the other seemed to be fresh out a glass of water one was dark skinned and one was light skinned. Thus, it makes me feel they are not consistent or big on quality. I would never give a customer food that looked old to the point that they would have to question if its edible. Mac and cheese was okay. They put sugar in it. I don't think sugar has to be everything. The brisket was not brisket. It's sliced ham. Brisket is cow. This was pig. Shameful that they served that under the name brisket. The pulled pork sandwich was ok, nothing special. And the souther punch was good. All in all, I respect their hustle and credit them for creating jobs in their community. However, I would just say that quality needs to be higher on their vision board. I noticed this place opened up near me so I was excited to try. Especially since it was a local business. I decided on the pulled pork BBQ sandwich and french fries. It took awhile for my food to be prepared but I patiently waited until the pager went off to let me know my food was ready. The BBQ sandwich was soggy and the bottom bun was soaked. This was rather disappointing. There was also sauce on the sandwich which was ok. They also charge an additional .59 for cole slaw that most restaurants include as a topping for a BBQ sandwich. The French Fries were also soggy and weren't crispy as you would expect Fries to be. Hopefully the food improves. Honestly I have had better BBQ and Fries from other places. read more

Chuck who claimed to be the owner had a very negative attitude when I notified him my order wasn't correct. He argued with me for close to 10 minutes about crinkled French fries. I ordered over 30$ worth of food and he argues over 2.49$ fries. Does not understand his own system. He said I only ordered 1 fry kept adding it up then sat but it only says 1 fry. I explained to him he could potentially lose customers with such a negative attitude he still couldn't understand. He stated you said the food was good. Bad attitude is the reason many African American businesses don't last. No matter the taste of the food. Despite all the negative backlash this place gets, I thoroughly enjoyed my food. I ordered the turkey leg, hot honey wings, ribs, greens, corn on the cob, funnel cake fries and fried Oreos. Everything was absolutely flavorful, the only downfall was the wings were drizzled in sauce instead of tossed. Other than that I didn't have any issues with freshness or customer service. There was a bit of a wait because turkey legs were still smoking but I'm patient, I don't mind waiting. I feel like it could have been smoked a little longer but still tasty nonetheless. The ribs and the greens were my absolute favorite part. The sweet and smoky bbq sauce was a really nice touch and the greens were packed with flavor. I ordered $50 worth of food and the only thing remotely good was the mac and cheese. Let's start with the brisket sandwich, dry and very unenthusiastic, almost sure the smoked beef sausage was a prepackaged, processed sausage I could have gotten from food lion, order 10 wings, garlic parmesan, the sauce was bitter, the wings were soggy and greasy, I only ate 2 of those rest went into the trash, the cookies and cream milk shake, just trash. My wife noticed Tucker's the other day and being drawn by the wonderful smells and line for food, knew this was a great new local place to try. We stopped today and ordered the "gotta have" Smoked Turkey Leg and Spicy Chicken Wings. The flavor of the Turkey Leg was fantastic with a perfect amount of smoke. The Chicken Wings were flavorful and plentiful, no scrawny wing here. We also grabbed two large water drinks (peach and coconut) which were like a perfect Hawaiian Shave Ice or Slushie. Service was as expected (not slow) since it seemed everything was made to order. We are looking forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. read more

Service wasn't good and if they would ever consider, I wish they could use better bun for sandwiches because it reminds me of most creepers and smallest hamburger bun you could find if you could define it as a hamburger bun. There is a small staff which is not a problem but when you have large orders they should let other customers know theirs a wait. like the others I definitely had high hopes for this establishment. after watching a review from a food blogger "yummo bucco" I packed up my kids n headed over. now it's definely located in a "area" but the establishment was fairly nice. upon walking up to the window I was not acknowledged though the cashier was at the window I had to ring the doorbell. the cashier was definitely the worse day of her life but I proceeded to order because I have teenage daughters so I get this trendy tune. We ordered online at 2:00 and it said the order would be done at 2:35. When we went to Tucker's around 2:40, they claimed that they just received the order so we had to wait even longer. We ordered 3 things of honey garlic wings, 1 thing of lemon pepper wings, mac and cheese as the side, banana pudding, and fried oreos. We didn't receive our order until after 3 o'clock. When we got home, we noticed that they messed up our order. They gave us 2 things of lemon pepper wings, and 1 thing of the honey garlic wings. The honey garlic wings didnt even have honey on them like they did from another time we went there. The mac and cheese was so dry and it looked like it had been sitting in the corner for days. The fried oreos didn't even have the oreos inside and we never received the banana pudding. We called up there and they told us to bring the food back. My grandfather had a conversation with the owner, Chuck, and he claimed that you're supposed to ask for honey on top of the wings but that wasn't an option on the website and we didn't have to do that the first time. He claimed to have fired the cook that made the wings the first time, but he made them right. We then changed our mac and cheese sides to fries because the mac and cheese was horrible. We finally got our food again but by that time, it was after 4 o'clock. When we arrived home, we realized that they once again messed up our order. They gave us 2 things of honey garlic wings, which still did not have the honey on them, and one thing of lemon pepper wings, but we were supposed to get 3 things of honey garlic wings. The wings were too big and soggy. They gave us the banana pudding the second time and it looked really nasty. The fries were really soggy and tasted like straight oil. We spent over $60 just for our order to be wrong multiple times. Chuck is very unprofessional and got disrespectful with us when we called up there to let them know that they once again, got our order wrong. My daughter and I wanted to try this place out since it was a black owned establishment. Upon arrival we felt it had a very nice vibe, and since it's an outside eating spot I loved the fact that it was very clean and well kept. However, when we got to the window to place our order we weren't greeted with a hello, not even a welcome to Tuckers how can I help you or anything, she just literally just looked at us like yeah what do yall want....which unfortunately seems to be the way of the world these days especially dealing with these young black ladies..yes I'm gonna say it these young black ladies.. and for the record I'm a black woman myself and quite frankly I'm just embarrassed by the customer service that we give one another....but anyway we proceeded with our order. We ended up ordering 2 orders of their naked wings, garlic parmesan and sweet and spicy and we also order two sweet teas.....when we received our food it smelled pretty good and it also look pretty pleasing to the eye but once we got home and actually tasted the food it was very disappointing.....first of all the wings are too big for my liking, but more importantly they were so tasteless I mean just really bland....the actually wing itself has not flavor like it doesn't taste like they season the wing at all..the only thing that somewhat saves it is the sauce which by the way doesn't hold well to the actual wing so you have to constantly dip the wing in the sauce so you can get some taste out of it...SAUCE DOES NOT STICK WELL ON THE CHICKEN PERIOD and chicken is not seasoned AT ALL....I also would like to say with them being a new establishment give the people more of what their looking for...everything they offer is al la carte...none of their entrees come with a side...they dont have combos nor do they have a lunch special menu but any howser this was my experience cant say for sure if I'll come back cause I also feel like their alittle overpriced and cant say if I'll even want to try anything else on their menu! read more
