Came here at the recommendation of our vet due to our dog vomiting and not able to hold food or water down. It probably was more of a panic visit and preemptive. It is that awful choice of waiting to see, which may make it worse or going in and testing and finding nothing. Luckily, it was the later. Nothing was found after blood work, IV, and xray. They saw us within an hour, after doing online checkin. We discussed and agreed on a plan. It was over $1000, ugh. but that is what it is now. We never got the actual results, but I will be requesting later. the discharge just said to monitor, but we were told all was fine in all the expensive exams. People were friendly and helpful. No issues, I would come back here if I had a pet issue. Hopefully not. read more

I was told Tucson Vet Urgent Care gave my dog a 2 week injectable antibiotic along with eye drops and an NSAID for conjunctivitis. 5 days later, symptoms are much worse. I don't believe they administered the antibiotic. There was no tenderness or nodule at the site of injection. 5 days later symptoms are much worse. I've already paid 459 dollars. I believe they are just setting us up for a bigger payday. I hope my Puddin' lives and outlasts their greed. read more

This was my second time coming to Pima Pet Clinic for my dog Peaches. The first visit was on a Saturday four years ago after she was bit by a rattlesnake on her face. They took great care of her and she fully recovered. Peaches was going on 15 years this April. She suddenly started losing weight at a rapid pace even though she was still eating and drinking like she always did, she started to walk slowly, couldn't run anymore and slept pretty much all day. I knew something was wrong and brought her here again. They ran tests on her and unfortunately my baby girl was very sick. Her kidneys were failing, she was in pain and only had about a week left to live. The vet recommended euthanizing her because she was in a lot of pain but I was very sad and couldn't let her go at that moment (I wasn't prepared). They gave me pain medication for her. I brought her home and spent one more night with her and went back the next morning and had her euthanized / cremated with ashes in an urn and paw print in clay. When I went to pick up her ashes she was in a very beautiful wooden urn and her paw print was in this beautiful red clay (I think). It was just so beautiful what they did. The staff was so amazing and caring. I really love what they did for her. I highly recommend this vet. read more

My puppy Skippy and I were thankful to find this clinic open on Sunday when Skippy had a terrible night suffering with painful ears. I could offer the little precious guy no relief and I was so worried. I called this emergency clinic when their phone answered for my regular vet's office, which was closed on a Sunday. Everyone was wonderful to us from the great front desk to the technical staff and the doctor. Skippy had some serious problems. I'm so grateful I could get him this help in time. He went home with medicine for a month for the ears and pain medicine for as long as his ears hurt him, and with notes available for our regular great vet to review for our regular follow-up visit in a month. First, you may have to wait. Know this going in. That being said, the staff is lovely. They really are. My pittie is super high strung but the atmosphere had him fairly calm, at least until the doctor tried to touch him lol. They showed genuine care and concern my my pup's issues and was very thorough in their instructions. I also appreciated the follow up phone call. Pima Pet Clinic is a great option for those in-between issues that aren't emergent or life-threatening enough for the emergency vet, but require treatment soon. With the vet shortage, same-day appointments are next to impossible to get at regular vet offices and emergency vets have narrowed their scope and often won't see an animal for non life-threatening issues. Pima Pet Clinic has now been able to get us in twice in two weeks for a torn dewclaw, with no significant wait time on either visit. Like human urgent cares or ERs, it's obviously harder to get in or a longer wait later in the day, but if your crisis occurs in the morning or you can wait until the morning to go in (they open at 8) you will likely be seen. The staff has been friendly both visits and the lone vet on-duty was knowledgeable and efficient. read more

I called at 3 on a Saturday due to my furry buddy having blood tinged watery stools. They advised to bring him in before 4 as they were extremely busy. I dropped off my buddy at 3:45, got an update by Dr. Bejarano at 6 and had my Luka back home with some oral antibiotics by 7. I've read most reviews which are mainly complaints on the wait. I believe ratings are important but not just for the wait, it should include the quality care they offer as your pet is being cared for which is why I am giving this place 5 stars. Even after the full physical examination, the doctor did not have the decency to communicate to us about the results. I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience here. My poor black lab had very bad diarrhea and vomiting and there appeared to be blood. I'd never been to this location before but I took her right in based on a recommendation from my vet. The wait wasn't long and the tech and vet were super sweet and my girl loved them. I appreciate how they don't try to oversell treatments and seem to offer various approaches. My nine year old Airedale stepped on a cactus thorn causing her paw to abscess. I brought her by the clinic at 8 AM, and was seen by the vet tech and vet within minutes, and the problem accurately diagnosed. After minor surgical intervention, she was back home in just a couple of hours and is as good a new. All staff members were gracious and professional. It's been months since I had to euthanize my kitty here. Unfortunately he was very sick and most likely wouldn't have made it even with treatment. They are quite pricey and I couldn't afford it out of pocket so I had to euthanize my kitty Kiki. They were so understanding and they got him in quickly! They gave me a lot of time with him in a room and they allowed me to wait until I was ready. A couple weeks after they sent me a thoughtful letter. Costs aside they are amazing people! I took my pet to be evaluated for diahrrea at that time in the 3-4th day. It was liquid- and is destroying my house as the poor dog cant make it to the door. I took a sample in and checked him in. The vet came in very unconcerned about my pet. The techs were ok- nothing special. She said he needed 'clay' and probiotics. Both over the counter and inflated at prices 66% higher than Petco!!! I was going to get a heart worm check- $80 ($25 at ABC). I asked her for metronidazole and she REFUSED to treat my dog- who is destroying my house and feeling poorly. She REfUSeD to give me prescription medications to treat this issue. I had to REQUEST they send a stool sample. She never told me it would go out to a lab the next day (old specimen over 24 hrs) for evaluation. Said results would be back next day- never happened. When I called back she said "oh it takes 3 days to get better"- 3 DAYs!!!!!! If they can't treat dog diahrrea I'd be afraid to take a sicker pet in! I will NOT refer anyone there. Extremely over priced and they do a poor job helping your pet. I definitely think they are about the money- not you and your pet! My recommendation- go somewhere else! read more

We had to bring our very ill cat Princess in on May 4th. She seemed fine until the the day before when we noticed she was not eating or drinking water.The lab tests showed that she suffered from diabetic ketoacidosis and severe liver failure. To our extreme dismay, we had no choice but to have her euthanized. We still have a hard time dealing with her getting so sick and not showing any symptoms until it was too late to help her. First of all, I have been taking my pets here for 15 years, not just one time so I feel I know what type of place Pima Pet is. I have 5 animals and I want them to have the best. We are not rich so the last surgery we saved months for. I talked to other clinics, and they don't have state of the art equipment like Pima. It would be less expensive but the have no blood pressure monitors and I was told they actually count heart beats by touching the animal, during a surgical procedure,no thank you, .Dr Scott, Dr Parker and my new favorite Dr Blumenthal are awesome. They care about my pets who mean the world to me. I would pay whatever to get the best for my pets.And they are AHAA certified which means they are always updating their skills so that your pet gets the latest and greatest technology. They charge more because they have better equipment and many of these cheaper clinics actually recommend Pima for harder surgery on older animals because they can not do what Pima can. As for the front desk staff, I have not had any issues, but my concern is who is operating on my pet and what their skill set is. read more

Ms. Trish and Dr. Blumefled saved my older shepard mix. My dog was treated initially during an urgent care visit @ Pima for a growth on his leg that had ripped open and was infected. staff was great, initial vet was great and helped my dog through the weekend with pain meds and meds for the infection. The next couple of days superhumans Trish and Dr. B. performed a miracle surgery to remove the mass, but they were not able to close the wound due to the size of the mass and the fact that the mass was ruptured and complicated. Dr.B said no worries, we will take care of him and they did!! the wound is healing fast and nice after 3-4 weeks and will soon have a closed surgical site. Thanks to this team!!! read more

The medicine they gave us is very runny and not working. After the medical assistant evaluated the cat they tried to get me to pay $442 before the vet would even come in to see him after I said that I could not afford that even with the extra help that I was getting they then said well we can do a black light to look at the wound and that's about. It will do that for the hundred dollar initial cost and then we will see what kind of medication we can give you that you can afford. I told them we could only afford 160 and like I said the initial visit was $99 so I could've potentially afford $61 for a medication they tried getting me to spend $70 on a medication that was oral they said or we can do a $36 medication that is topical. I don't understand why they're such a big difference between the two pricewise but the medication that they gave us for $36 like I said is very runny. It looks like they added a bunch of water to it to be honest and it is not helping it looks like it's actually making it worse. They were not nice. They were not pleasant. They were not understanding about the fact that we could only afford so much that seem to really bother them and I don't feel like we got adequate treatment because we couldn't afford the $442 that they originally wanted to charge and I honestly felt like they were looking down on me before that read more

(Unfortunately) my dog has had to be seen by Pima a few times. Once during curbside/pandemic, and now twice in the past month. All of the staff I've encountered have been very courteous and caring. After working as a vet tech for 10 years, I can tell they have a high standard of care. It is pricey, but it is an ER/urgent care. Wait times can be long, but it's super easy to drop off and get a call later. The only thing I'd mention is that you may want to go somewhere else if you suspect your pet may require hospitalization, since they're not a 24hr facility. This review is based solely on the front desk interaction I had today via phone call. To say that the receptionist had bad etiquette and phone skills would be an understatement. I called to follow up on my dog who had been sick on Wednesday. I start giving her the details and she starts speaking to someone else in the background while I'm still talking. Then she says, "I'll need you to hold." Gets back on the phone, doesn't apologize or explain anything. Then she goes on to state she can't find my dog in the system (they spelled his name wrong), I find his paperwork for his Rx and then she immediately finds him. It was like she was intentionally being difficult. I then ask what I should do if xyz happens and she gives a recommendation. I state that I'd prefer the vets opinion before moving forward either way. She stated "the vet will give the exact same recommendation and she's busy so you'll have to wait so you can either do x or y." I say again, can you please run it by the vet first and have her give the recommendation. SHE SAYS THE EXACT SAME THING TO ME. If I wanted the medical opinion of a receptionist, I wouldn't pay 900 dollars to go to the vet. The vets here are excellent. They need a better receptionist with manners and compassion. I don't need an attitude or to jump through hoops for anyone when my dog is sick, thanks. read more

What a horrible place. I took my dog who was in distress to Pima Pet. They did 1000s of dollars of tests and scheduled a follow up. Over the weekend she had a breathing episode and I took her to a difference clinic, they were able to tell me she had a terminal condition and we made the very sad choice to end her suffering. Pima pet are greedy thieves who extend suffering to line their pockets. I would never go there again!!!! read more

My dog had a growth on her head that had recently started to become an issue. I had to work so gave my dog to my father to take to VCA. They told me since it was not life threatening that they would not see her. This growth had started to bleed and break open and was a serious issue for infection. After calling around he found Pima Pet and they said to bring her in right away. They got her in immediately and scheduled a surgery for her. This was at about 1030am. By 630pm she had the surgery and was ready to come home. The staff was super friendly and helped me with everything. Wish this was a normal vet that I could keep bringing her. The first time I brought a pet here, they were awesome and inexpensive and they were like a regular vet, but that was when you still had to park along Speedway, before they added a right turn into a new parking lot and also moved the entrance to the side. Now they are no longer that kind of place. They are spectacularly overpriced and recommended I euthanize my dog because it was going to be two days before I would have the money for the bladder surgery to remove the stones that were blocking his urethrae and preventing him from urinating. Using a catheter, they had completely emptied his bladder so no way was I going to let them kill my 4 year old. They made me sign a paper stating that I was taking my dog home against the doctor's recommendations, and two days later I took my dog to one of the hospitals they had recommended, fully thinking my dog needed immediate surgery, but THOSE doctors said no, you can take him home until you notice him straining to pee again. It was several weeks before we actually needed the surgery, and the bill was so much lower than the amount Pima Pet Clinic wanted to kill my dog over. They even pressured me to apply for two different lines of credit, both of which declined my application, and then they told me to call friends and relatives to borrow the money from. They wanted to kill my dog because of the two days it took for me to have what they asked for. read more

We took our dog in to get checked because she was scratching like crazy to the point where her fur was coming off so we rushed her in and this is the clinic that told us there should be no wait if we go right at opening at 8am so that's what we did , but we were still stuck there until 3pm because they did not inform us there was only 1 doctor in today . After they tried to offer us over $2000 of tests they want to run , we discussed it with some of our vet friends and they told us what was necessary and what was a rip off , but we still ended it up paying over $500 for 1 visit , so I called again after my dog was finished with the meds and the shampoo they prescribed because my dogs is still scratching like crazy , they rudely told me over the phone that there is nothing they can do for me because I didn't call after 24 hrs if something was still wrong , but I am trying to explain to them how would I know the result after just 24 hrs, when the meds they prescribed was for 3 weeks !!! Then she said if I want to see the doctor again I will have to pay extra fee . I would not recommend ANYONE going there ! I took my baby Wishbone here because he was having an eye irritation that just wasn't going away. I called 6 different clinics and a emergency before I was recommended to check Pima clinic. The wait wasn't too bad at the time I came 9:45/10am. The staff was very friendly, one even cleaned up the food my dog threw up, in the parking lot after I alerted them he yakked. The Dr thoroughly cleaned Wishbone's eyes and ran test to make sure his eye wasn't injured or still had something stuck in it. I was very satisfied when I got him back. The dr said they didn't find any scar or anything in his eye. They told me to keep the appointment I had for his regular vet that is a couple weeks away for him to get a check up. Very happy with my choice to go here. I brought in my dog who had started limping the night before as an emergency case when no one else could take us after calling 7 different veterinary offices. Got in there right at 8 and were seen within 20 minutes. The people who work there are very nice and knowledgeable and figured out the issue quickly, gave me lots of information, and recommended us to a surgeon. Pima Pet Clinic is now the second Veterinary Hospital that I would never recommend to anyone not even my worst enemy.. I was sitting on the exam room for an hour and a half before my dog and I were even seen by the vet. They took X-rays and then made me sit in the exam room for another hour before coming to tell me the results. It turned out my dog was constipated and they told me not to give him sodium and told me to change his diet. I brought him home for him to only get worse in pain. We decided to give him a pill for constapation and it worked later to find out it had sodium in it. Theu were trying to make it so i would have to bring my dog back in to spend more money. They are all about the money in my opinion. read more
