Like most customers we decided to check out Tuff Shed alternatives. We live in Livermore and drove out to the Concord Tuff Shed facility. There we were greeted by Nathan who showed us the various sizes and options. We decided on the 8x15 Pro Tall. Being a cautious couple we wanted to make sure we had the proper location. Nathan, it should be noted was an installer for Tuff Shed before going into sales, so he really knows what he is talking about. He offered to come by our residence and verified the location was suitable. Nathan came by the following week. This eased our minds and we ordered the shed. Tuff Shed contacted us and the shed was delivered and constructed the same week!!!! The crew of two were courteous and efficient, unfortunately I do not have their names, but they were out of the San Jose area. To date we are very satisfied with our purchase and plan on purchasing another shed for pool/yard equipment on the other side of our yard (after a new fence is in place). He came out to check the spot in my backyard to make sure the shed would fit and work in that location. We went PAST shed #1 as it was NOT a TALL as Ordered (we priced out TWO sheds, but are SEVERELY put off by the problems w/ shed #1 alone). #1 came WRONG size! #2 was WRONG framing & the doors would not fit.... Needed a shed so called what I assumed was a good place to start. The sales person came out and was great - sent me a quote for the shed with all the options. Gave them the go ahead. The install team arrived and told me that the pad was not level which I agreed and said the salesman advised that it would be leveled during installation. The 2 man crew was awesome and did all they could with material they had to buy from Home Depot. They said it should have been leveled with larger materials that Home Depot did not have. 2 years later, an Inspector was in our yard for another reason and saw the levelling and advised that he had never seen such a poor attempt and that he may even tag it as unsafe. Bringing this to the attention of the factory in Stockton, their response was they would address it if/when it was tagged - or maybe not even then. Maybe I will have a contractor fix it and address it in Small Claims Court at this point. read more

We got our new shed installed a week ago and the whole process was easy and what one would expect. We worked with Bill who was super patient with our changing needs. My husband and I learned that we are terrible at measuring spaces, so when we got cement poured for our 8x12 shed (cement was our choosing, not Tuff Shed's recommendation), we saw how the unit would actually sit in our backyard. We called Bill up to see if we could change the door placement even though it was 3 days until delivery. He handled the change like a pro and with no extra charge. I purchased (07/2020) 2# Tuff Sheds this summer (10x12 & 8x12). They delivered the second d unit with a broken window and door handle. I was informed by the delivery man if I accepted the delivery they would send out a service tech and fix it. U waited a couple of weeks for them to call and schedule a time to come fix the damage. They never called. I have been leaving messages for them every couple of weeks and they have NEVER even bothered to respond. So far, customer service has been awful and I can not in good conscience recommend this company. read more

I had gone here three times to look at the sheds to make sure which one I wanted and to see if there were any deals. Then I read the yelp reviews when I was ready to buy and OMG glad I read it first. It was not til I dealt with and went to the Stockton location that I realized how truly terrible the customer service was even before visiting and doing my research. Not once did the man show us the individual sheds and he left us to our own. Maybe he did not think we were serious about buying it? He did answer a few questions for us when we went to ask him, but that was it. When we went to the Stockton office, I liked how the gentleman showed us each shed he thought would suit what we were looking for based on questions he asked us. He went over different details and scenarios giving us analogies, info, etc. He was very thorough and knew his stuff. It showed he appreciated our business! I told him the Concord store never did any of this stuff and just left us by ourselves to look around and like a true gentleman he was being good about it and did not say anything bad about the other store. Now I know why there was a difference in the yelps! So yes, I bought right away from this store even though further from us, but with such a big amount you are paying, you want it done right! Too bad the Concord guy did not give us a tour or anything, we bought their biggest one on site and no financing so easy sale! Don't judge a book by its cover- even the Stockton one was thinking we should or would buy the smaller shed bc we drive a regular basic car-yes, it is bc we are frugal but wise with our money. Should have consulted with Yelp before engaging at all with this place. Heed everyone's warning!! What really sucks about working with Tuff Shed, is that I expected exceptional customer service. They have great products, beautiful sheds. What we got was two months of us chasing down our customer service representative to get the damn shed delivered and built. Their business model is take money and screw customers. Initially we were promised the delivery and construction of a tough shed two weeks after our purchase. It took us about a month and a half just to get a set date. While they were apologetic I never felt like they were making their best attempt to remediate the situation. It almost feels fitting that the contractor that Tuff Shed hired to build our shed also saw little value in customer satisfaction and communication. I found out from our neighbor after the contractors finished and left that they stacked the building material against our shared fence, causing it to lose structure and fold over on their side. Tuff Shed was, of course, hard to get in contact with after the construction of our shed, and put all responsibility on the contractors, who shared the same sentiment of it not being their responsibility. I would not recommend this branch of Tuff Shed to anyone. I might even go as far as to say I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, but two rotten apples shouldn't spoil everything. There were times when I wanted to cancel our entire transaction just to rid myself of this toxic one sided relationship. Best of luck to anyone bold enough to tangle with this beast. read more

My husband and I had an old 28 year old shed. The roof leaked and the floor was collaspsing. I called Tuff Shed and they put me in touch with Quentin. He helped me design the right shed for the space and customize it to our liking. He let me know about a free shelf promotion which was helpful. I don't live very close to where they build the sheds. My HOA requires that my shed match my house. Quentin was super helpful in assisting so that paint could be bought from Kelly Moore and used on the shed. On the day of delivery, the installation went smoothly. We love our new shed! I would recommend Tuff Shed to anyone. read more

Another example of extraordinary poor service. I had an appointment yesterday for the second time to have somebody repair my doors and not only did no one show up but I never got a phone call. I truly wish that I never purchased anything from this company which is shown nothing but the worst of customer service. I truly believe if I had an independent contractor build this shed it would've been a better quality shed with more care to the customer addressing issues if there were any. We ordered and put a down on a Tuff Shed several years ago while putting in pavers. We ended up in a lawsuit with the paver company. Tuff Shed said that they would hold our deposit and since the Sales Quote had no expiration date, we were good. At the end of 2022, we were ready to install the shed. Tuff Shed couldn't find our deposit or Sales Quote. After contacting the Corporate Office, they found our deposit and Sales Order and I was told that all was good and we could proceed. Then suddenly, I receive a new Sales Quote that was over double the amount. Bill Storey said there wasn't anything he could do. So, I contacted the Corporate Office. I received a call from Brian Hunter, the Northern California District Manager, stating that he wouldn't negotiate and would consult with his legal department. I didn't hear back for a month, so, I contacted the Better Business Bureau(BBB). The BBB reached out twice and Tuff Shed never responded. Tuff Shed now has a F Rating with the BBB. I again contacted Tuff Shed and without ever contacting me, I get an email that they are returning my deposit. Tuff Shed has no ethics or integrity and should not be in business. Use them at your own risk as they don't care about their customers nor their own business standing. read more

Paint that is nonexistent - you can see the Sharpie writing from the lumber yard on the trim of the front door. Still have nails sticking out like a medieval torture device. I call and call, but my calls are not returned. Post sales support is nonexistent, even for warranty claims. Downgrading this review to 1 star. Buying from Tuff Shed was the worst decision I ever made. Please don't make my same mistake! read more

There were two salesman, one was quiet and didn't interact much at all, but he pointed us to the other guy who was very helpful! We decided to give them a try and picked out a shed. The salesman went over the options/modifications, and it was installed a few weeks later. There were two installers, both were very nice and worked efficiently. I bought a tuff shed from Bill Story at the Concord store. The installation crew did a good job but I should have inspected the shed closer. After they left I noticed that the paint was scratched and several "Holidays". It needed a second coat and was not what I had paid for. I called Bill and his solution was to give me the paint number and have me go and get the paint at my expense and time. I got a call from the main office to see if I was happy and after telling the representative the story he promised to send me some paint to fix the problem. Two weeks later, no paint and overtime I try to call I am transferred to a voice mail. This companies follow up is terrible, I wouldn't buy from them again.
