OK - found myself a mile and a half away from this place again - so how could I not pay another visit? Had another Coconut Cloud Martini - YUM!!! I also had the seitan in thai peanut sauce over coconut rice. I almost substituted something else for the rice - not a huge fan of a huge plate of rice like most places pile on. I am so glad I did not. The rice was AMAZING. So full of coconutty goodness - YUM! The seitan was also good and the peanut sauce was decent. I am not a big fan of any spicy or heat laden dish. This was not too terribly spicey but for me - I would have preferred even less. Even then it was quite a atasty dish. Someone else had the crusted tofu. The veggies and rice were good - but the tofu was barely crusted and lacking a lot of flavor - very bland and sad. If I just had that dish - this place would have gotten 2 stars. Hopefully they will either improve this or trash the dish all together. The other stuff - still Rocks. They once again made me a soy cappuchino - YUMMY!!!! Came here for the first time last night. I was meeting a friend who was staying in Nassau for the weekend and I was coming from the north shore in Suffolk county, so I wanted to pick a meeting place that was easy for the both of us. We decided to eat here and absolutely loved it. We made a 7pm reservation, but got there a half hour early, so we sat at the bar to have a glass of wine. Before we know it, our table was ready right on time. For dinner we practically licked our plates and loved our food so much we ordered dessert. I can't say one bad thing about this place. Great place and a great atmosphere. I ate so many things. The menu was great... if I came back I would get a different thing every time! Had the Greek board and Mexican pizza which were great! In addition I tried my first poke bowl which was good, I also had the vegetarian burrito which was good. But my favorite thing was the Pecan Crusted Chicken salad. It was sweet and savory! I didn't expect the Parmesan cheese, the pecan chicken and the balsamic dressing to work so well together. Tula is probably one of the best restaurants on Long Island. I say this because the menu items are healthy and pretty much guilt-free, so I don't feel bad indulging here like I do at most other restaurants. If you're veg or vegan or just someone who eats consciously, it would be worth it to drive out to Bay Shore and make a night out of it just to go to Tula. It is seriously that good. The menu is beyond extensive -- I could see myself coming back here again and again just to try all the different assortments they have. From chicken, to salmon, to veggie items like a lentil burger (which is amazing, by the way) your bases are covered here. The waitress was unbelievably gorgeous and very kind and attentive. The host and bus staff were also kind and nice. If you are threatened by beautiful, hippie chick goddesses maybe this isn't the place for you :) There aren't really any caveats, but I just felt compelled to share that I gave this place 5 stars despite a couple things that were slightly not amazing, but in no way Tula's fault. One, we sat outside cause it was full inside (word of advice: make a reservation!) and it was pretty chilly and their heat lamp had broken. Not amazing, but I won't hold it against them. Two, this weird drug dealer dude kept walking up and down the block repeatedly but it didn't really bother us that much cause he was just trying to make a sale I guess? That didn't deter any of the patrons here cause the restaurant was super, super busy, so make a reservation if you don't want to eat outside or at the bar. Oh, also the cocktail menu is amazing. I unfortunately didn't get to dine in the beautiful restaurant, but I did order for pick up. I had the couscous salad, delicious! Although the serving was a bit small, and it was a $17 salad. That's pretty steep. However, I inhaled it in minutes + was pleasantly surprised at how yummy it was. Love that it's vegan, organic and vegetarian friendly. Not many nice restaurants on the island that have healthy options! I will be back! I can't wait to come back with my boyfriend and really get to have the dining in experience. I love everything about this place, except they are extremely pricey. You can't share plates without a fee. A bit over the top in my opinion, which limits how often I go there. However, the appetizers melt in your mouth and the entrees are generally amazing. My favorite thing about this place though: the coconut mixed drink I had - BEST mixed drink I've ever had hands down. read more

Brought the kids the wife the mother the sister and her husband and children. Very pretty place very good food. I had the vegan ruben which was great. The edamame was cooked fresh and delicious. Everyone enjoyed the food and though we came with a small army of kids to a fairly romantic small restaurant the hostess were accommodating and the chef made a huge bowl of pasta for the kids to eat. I will definitely go back and I think the adamant carnivores would too. LI should have more vegan friendly restaurants like this. read more

I got the tempeh rueben with vegan mozzarella and it was incredible. I've missed reubens since going vegan. My friend also enjoyed his food--- he got a falafel sandwich and said it was delicious. We both got cocktails and they were great. The only qualm I have is the misspelling of Virginia Woolf's name on the back of the menu! I recently came for dinner with my wife this past Friday and boy let me tell you, this did not disappoint. We parked in the rear (paid meters) and walked along side the place which had outdoor seating on the side and in front of the location. Entryway was nice and once you walk in you're introduced to a long sleek bar with smooth concrete floors and tables to the right of bar which has a lot of natural light from the garage doors (which open on nice weather) but today was too darn hot for it. Glad we came a bit early bc this place started to pack out soon as we were seated. Waitress was very nice, i ordered the "meatball and spaghetti" which is actually a vegetarian plate of 3 large lentil "balls" and "zoodles", the sauce and grated cheese were to perfection, now i been vegetarian since the beginning of the year and this is by far the best plate i've had in any vegetarian establishment. My wife ordered the lentil "meatloaf" which came with salad and mashed cauliflower, she too loved her dish. I did notice there was another room which i didn't get to peek into but all in all i would return here without a doubt. read more

Tula's is one of our favorite restaurants in town! We often go here if we are celebrating something and the menu has a lot of options for anyone with a restricted diet - vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. We've ordered the feta spinach pie and moussaka a number of times (so good and it's a huge portion). We've also ordered the Earth Moving Dream Bar, of course, and the bread puddin' - both we'd recommend. The atmosphere is pretty and intimate. Waiters and waitresses have always been very kind and informative. Knocked off a star since service (particularly getting the check) can sometimes feel slow, even when the restaurant doesn't seem that busy. read more

I wanted to order most of what was on the menu! Everything looked great! And there are so many vegetarian options. You can also substitute tempeh for chicken in any dish. We just went today for lunch and the food was delicious. Plus all of the servers as well as the guy who filled the water glasses were so nice and very friendly. There is a real attempt here to provide quality food. For the most part, they really don't succeed. I asked for a side of olive oil, it was pure, not extra virgin. There is a cost for quality. Cutting corners is a shame and contradictory. Its also hard to justify $11.00 for a draft beer, craftsmanship aside. Very pricey entrees, paying for the fillers. Went here on a hot summer evening. We had an outside table. The decor here is really cool and unique. Great spot for a date :) Food was fresh and delicious. We got a small salad that had goat cheese, and a really yummy maple dressing. The warm pita and chickpea salad is free and is also very good. For the entrees, we had the shrimp with bokchoy & mashed and the tilapia with a mango salsa and potatoes. Both were really flavorful, and good portions. This review is from a couple weeks ago. Only reason it's not 1 star is cause the food is always great. However we had the same waitress as the last tome we dined here, and she is absolutely nasty. Don't know her name, but I'd say late 40s, dark hair. They cooked my gfs food wrong and the woman got nasty. She argued about fixing their mistake, and made some nasty remarks. This after she was inattentive and rude to begin with. If it weren't for her we'd definitely gback but two times in a row with her nasty attitude make it unlikely. read more

Unbelievably delicious! We were a party of 6 and everyone loved the food! I had the Balsamic Salmon and it was amazing. The cauliflower mash was ridiculous!! So creamy and better than mashed potatoes (yes, SERIOUSLY! and no dairy)!!! The rest of our party had the Turkey Meat-a-balls, Dos Amigos, Panzanella Branzino, Burrito, and Chicken Bowl. The table was quiet the whole time we were eating! Everyone loved it and kept saying over and over how great everything was! My girlfriend and I went to Tula for dinner Saturday night and if was packed! We arrived early but only waited 15 minutes past our reservation time. Our waiter was very friendly and we both took his recommendations on the specials. The food is terrific, they give you a pita and bean plate to share before your actual orders come out. This was a nice surprise and it was delicious to boot. Our apps were well built, and displayed in a very appetizing way. The entrees were excellent however we were both full from the food brought previously and our Tula punch drinks. The food here is amazing and it's one of my favorite restaurants. The reason for the 2 stars is because I didn't feel safe during my recent visit. I called in advance to ask how many they allow in the restaurant and they told me 50% capacity. Well that wasn't true. When I arrived I was horrified to see that the restaurant looked exactly as it did pre-Covid. Parties were not sitting 6 feet apart from other parties. People waiting for tables were allowed to wait inside at the bar and many weren't wearing a mask while they waited. We had a group of 6 women standing right next to our table for 30 minutes. When we were finishing up a customer who was waiting for a table approached us without a mask and told us we needed to get up so he could have the table. People should be required to wait outside. I was uneasy the entire time I was there and I won't return during Covid. read more

They are extremely accommodating, once my favorite item was switched off the menu, when I inquired about it the waitress took the time to check and see if it could still be made, and it could! Although it's not bad to branch out and try something different there, I have never been disappointed with anything, but have my favorites of course! One of the few places where I make sure I order an appetizer and a dessert because it's all so good! read more

Amazing food! This is one of our favorite spots! The Rueban sandwich and the chicken skewer dish are bomb.

Hate to tread the same ground as everybody before, but this is a restaurant I can't shut up about. The owner Jackie goes to the same hair salon as I do and every time she's there when I am I have to stop myself from telling her for the 50th time that if she ever takes the Mediterranean Spread off the menu, I am going to throw myself out a window. Seriously. The Mediterranean Spread For Two with its hearty Spanakopita, spiced kalamata olives, breads, feta and greek salad with the lightest lemon-based dressing you've ever tasted is the best appetizer on the menu. As everyone else has said, there is a wonderful variety, and every dish mentioned is stellar. I will make a note of saying that anytime I've gotten the special, particularly whatever the fish selection is for that day, those have been some of the best meals at Tula. The fish is always fresh, never too dressed to make you forget you're eating the fruit of the sea. This place is a winner all-around in decor, service and wine selection, too. I would call the atmosphere a kind of vegetarian Turkish bathhouse chic. And the vaguely hippie wait staff is a lot of fun. read more

Start with the sun dried tomato hummus which is insanely fresh or the light spinach pie. Drinks are really tasty too - the old fashioned is huge and the green tea martini is a hit. Salads are delicious - either the shrimp avocado couscous or the Asian salad. Skip anything with seared tuna because it was rather fishy. Everything about this place is special. The ambiance is Moroccan-inspired, which is warm and inviting. There is a good deal of seating and about a dozen bar stools. Even so, make a reservation for the weekend. The bartenders and bus staff are wonderful. The waitresses are pretty good. Drinks- I don't typically drink alcohol, but I love the creative and seasonal cocktails. They also make a mean dark and stormy with some spicy ginger beer. Great wine selection, but no tap beer. Food- everything is cooked fresh, so be patient. There is an emphasis on homemade, healthy, and organic ingredients. They even purchase local produce. There is special attention paid to feeling all types of eaters- vegans, omnivores, and gluten-free. The soups are lovely; I particularly like the mildly spicy sweet potato and pumpkin soup. I like the cous cous salad and vegan walnut burger. And dessert! Definitely try the chocolate peanut butter pie; you would never know its vegan with the creamy cheesecake texture. read more
