It was a beautiful day out and I didn't wanna go home to figure out dinner. I wanted to be out and about amongst the peoples! Picked my sons up....they didn't wanna hang with me, even a little. SOOOO I went to dinner at Tulsi. BY MYSELF The place would be great for a date or a little romance. The ambiance was a lil sultry as the sun went down. The amount of food they give you is substantial. I had the lamb tandoori it came out sizzling like fajitas or the east(I'm sorry if that was racist) The naan was delish But the STAR was the lemon-drop martini I had. Bartender must have saw, me a solo diner that had been abandoned by her own younglings and felt for me because that thang was STRONG and I appreciated it. I was a little tipsy(I don't usually drink so it did not take a lot) it was cool because my big one will drive. At the end I had plenty of leftovers that my sons will get NONE of. It was enjoyable. Will recommend

Excellent Palak Paneer. Extremely creamy, mild flavor, delicious cheese. One of my favorite dishes and this did not disappoint. I love to add Mint Chutney to my meal, unfortunately, the mint chutney was nothing like I've had before... this was "creamy?" Almost as if it has a milk/yogurt base? The rice was a delicious treat! Hot, tender and flavorful. In spite of the mint chutney, I will return.

Absolutely delicious. We got takeout: * tofu curry (hot) * veggie pakora * aloo paratha * tadka dal (cobra hot) * aloo baingan (hot) The cobra hot (level above "Indian hot") was indeed hot and I had some sweat and tears by the end of my bowl. Generous portions (especially of rice). I bet the pakora are better when fresh instead of takeout but they were still good. They had MANY clearly marked vegan options which was very helpful. The food was ready quickly after ordering. It looks like a nice place for a date too. In a nice walkable area of Carytown too.

We visited Tulsi for our Valentine's Day Dinner and were seated right away despite showing up 10 min prior to our reservation time. That was lovely! We were fully prepared to wait. The service was okay. Our waiter was precise and checked on us every so often. Though not rude, he was particularly unfriendly, which was a little uncomfortable. The food was delicious! Fantastic portions and amazing flavor. Even the mild dishes had a lovely level of spice to them! I just wish my butter chicken had come with more of their amazing sauce, but I loved the amount of protein I got. The garlic naan was amazing and it was the perfect amount for our meal! All in all, it was a good dining experience. Not sure I'd visit again anytime soon, but I would recommend to others!

Our favorite Indian food spot in Richmond! --------------------------------- Food: we were impressed by the quality of the food that was also well-priced, our favorite thing to get here are the tandoori dishes which come out on a hot cast iron skillet; you can tell it's freshly made. I have not had great experiences with meat/fish dishes at Indian restaurants however the meat and fish (salmon/shrimp) here was very well done Recommendations: tandoori combo, salmon/shrimp tandoori Affordability: well priced, large portions Ambiance: warm inviting interior Service: attentive, good, complimentary appetizers to start Good for: casual or fancy dinners, group events/celebrations

    Love the packaging!

This is my go-to restaurant in RVA for Indian food. I usually opt for their chicken tikka masala but also love everything I take a chance on as well. Parking is challenging but they offer delivery which I usually take advantage of. Either way, online ordering is always seamless. Unfortunately, in my experience, they tend to forget items more often than not, but it's always taken care of very professionally. It's just inconvenient since I was unable to drive this particular night and had to get someone else to go pick up my missing item, but the food is good enough to offer a little extra forgiveness.

If you're looking for an authentic Indian restaurant, this is the spot to go! It is super cute inside with elegant decor, and the food is outstanding! They give you poppadom as a little appetizer. Their cocktails are delicious. I got the Alfonso, which is a mango coconut turmeric cocktail. I swapped gin for rum and it was perfection. My friend got a lychee martini which was also good. The food is the true highlight of the place. Every single meal was outstanding. I am Indian and haven't had this good of Indian cuisine in a while! The Konkani was extremely tasty. I got medium-to-hot spice level and it was the perfect spice level. If you like spice, go for the hot, though. I tried all of my friends' dishes too and everything was truly incredible. I recommend getting the tandoori, as it comes with a side of curry too. Special thanks to our server Ali! We had a great time and ate so well! The portions were perfect, leaving us full at the end. There was also no wait, even on a Friday night. The place was decently full but they still had space.

My favorite Indian restaurant just got a renovation and let me tell you, it is so much cuter now! I'm a regular at Tulsi and here's why. Tulsi is in the heart of Cary town and it offers an upscale experience to enjoy Indian cuisine. My recent visit I was greeted by the incredibly polite and friendly staff. I ordered the goat curry, the mango curry and butter chicken. All of these were phenomenal. Spice was on point and exceptional. The flavors were bursting. The portions were so generous. Pricing is also at a good price point for the portions you get. Honestly, this is the best indian restaurant in RVA.

The gorgeous interior drew me and the bf into this place and we have no regrets. the inside is dark and romantic, and the food was delicious. i will advise however that you pick the level BELOW what you think you can handle with spice, because we got "medium to hot" which was level 3/6 and we were struggling man besides that everything was so good and the service was great.

I normally don't like to go to Indian restaurants cu I feel like I am a better cook LOL. But glad my cousin decided for us - we ordered appetizers and drinks. And OMG!!! This place did not disappoint!!! Samosa chaat Paapri chaat Paneer tikka Lychee Martinis The place was packed! Definitely need to go back!!

The food was fantastic, and the service was just as impressive. I tried a few things for the first time, and nothing disappointed. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was full of flavor, and started with the house salad, a bit spicy, but really good. I also ordered a margarita, which was strong but still very enjoyable. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout the entire visit. Highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite places in Richmond to get Indian food! The employees are always so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is warm! The food is out of this world, I would recommend going with multiple people and getting multiple entrées to split, because everything is too good on the menu to just pick one!

New Fav!!! When you first walk in, you're treated to beautiful decor and a lovely waitstaff. We sat at a booth by the windows, which was great for people watching. We are also both vegan and we really appreciated that the menu clearly labels what can and can't be made vegan (lots of options btw!). We went with the Aloo Gobi, Vegetable Mango Curry, and the Roti (all vegan ofc). Absolutely delicious, the aloo gobi was perfectly spiced and salted, the mango curry was a great blend of sweetness and twang, and the roti was just delicious. Honestly, probably our new favorite restaurant in the area - definitely recommend!!

Reservations made well in advance is a must unless you're going at less popular times. Unfortunately parking is always a challenge because of reserved parking so plan ahead and come early if I have a reservation. Lots of steps leading up into the building but there is a ramp for handicap access. Kids were in town so we were visiting all our favorite places. Blue Atlas tapas style variety is always a hit with us. The only disappointment this time was the Elote dumplings. They were basically just corn gnocchi. Not a terrible flavor, but wouldn't bother ordering again. We started with some pretty fun cocktails, and a highlighted wine which I wish I could remember the name of...i think it started with N...It was a light bodied wine with mild floral notes, and a Prosecco feel without the bubbly that went perfect with all the plates. For cocktails, we got tea ceremony, la Siesta, Nicolada. I loved la Siesta and Tea ceremony for their uniqueness and smooth delivery. My son has a sweet tooth for cocktails, which the Nicolada fit but probably a little too sweet for me. For food we got the ever reliable pork belly Bao buns -a bit on the pricey side when you have to order extra to serve a table of four at $6 each, Next the aforementioned elote dumplings, -tacos de trucha which was good but not my favorite, -hanger steak, -Malaysian fried chicken - delicious and a good deal, -shish Barak; unique, and very tasty, -Vietnamese prawn toast, which was delicious , - -steamed mussels- good and enjoyed by most, and the -tortilla Española; solid but underwhelming compared to everything else. Also ordered the Brie special with toast that I loved but some of us got part of the rind which there was a lot of so wasn't as enjoyable for them but the flavors were there. Would've liked a few more heavy protein options but this did not affect our enjoyment of the meal. The hanger steak exceeded my expectations. I'm not always up for steak, but this was done perfectly and well accompanied with a marinated summer squash, cherry tomatoes, and pickled peppers. For dessert we got the ice cream sandwich and the chocolate banoffee budino. They were all out of the Black Forest meringue, so unfortunately, we could not try that. The ice cream sandwiches were a hearty serving and enjoyed by everyone at the table, but I thought the banoffee budino was the best. Unique and very tasty. Would have ordered one to have by myself if I wasn't so full lol.

The place had such a great, relaxed but upbeat vibe, making it a perfect pre-show stop. Happy hour was in full swing (Wednesday-Friday, 4-6pm), so we started with the Fries and a dip deal ($4). We chose three dips: Calabrian chile mayo, house ranch, and roasted garlic aioli. The garlic aioli stole the show for me--creamy, punchy, just amazing! The fries themselves were perfectly crisp and piping hot. For drinks, my friend loved her "Secret Garden" tito's vodka, strawberry, basil, and lime, super refreshing and lightly sweet. I went bolder with the "Caffe Trieste," a dangerously good combo of Belle Isle Cold Brew Coffee Moonshine, Kahlua, Tito's, Amaro Averna, almond, cinnamon, vanilla bitters, and a coffee rinse. If you like dessert in a glass, you need to try this! Dinner did not disappoint. I had the Pesto Chicken Panino: char-grilled chicken, basil pesto, sun-dried tomato, aged balsamic, red onion, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and a zippy red wine vinaigrette, all on fresh, pressed bread with a vibrant arugula salad. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I loved the balance of the peppery salad on the side. My friend ordered the rockfish special and was gracious enough to share a bite, so flaky and perfectly seasoned! All in all, Pinky's hits every note: quick and friendly service, creative cocktails, and food that's both comforting and elevated. Some very tender octopus, the fries are perfect for dipping more on that later. And the meatballs were great, but that Caesar salad salad is truly amazing with all of the seasonings and their homemade Caesar dressing. The fact that they make all of their sauces in house, I give a nod to the chef for that because they have some incredible sauces. One of the things that really impressed me was the fact that I ordered the fries and the waitress asked if I wanted the sampler sauces. I was thinking that that was going to be an additional charge, but I was wrong. The sampler was included with the fries and that came with about five or so of their homemade sauces. The Caribbean bean chili was my favorite, but I also enjoyed their ranch and lemon aïoli as well. They were really all great. I just want to give a shout out to pinkies for not nickel and diming the consumer when so many other restaurants and chains do that. I will be back off of that level of Customer Service service alone. I was also very impressed with the portion sizes. When you hear Tapas that typically means high price, low quantity of food. But here I feel like you actually get what you pay for. I was very impressed. A place with amazing food and a good bang for your buck is five stars any day from me. Thank you for an amazing dinner.
