I love a chicken joint and that's exactly what this is. I placed a to go order just to try out the sandwich and heavenly eggs but if you sign up to be a member they gave me free fries which was great and brought my price down to just $15. I give the eggs 4/10 seems like they're missing something. Fries are good maybe a tad season salt would make them pop. And the sandwich with coleslaw is different. I just got the hot flavor and it's not spicy at all. Just right for me. My order was ready for pick up. You do have to get out and go to the window to pick up your food. If it is your first time they give you a complimentary tiny bites of their 3 chicken flavors and sides. This really helped me decide the spice level I wanted to order. I came here for lunch on a whim, and was so happy that I did. The location is where the Old Ave., Café used to be many years ago. I ordered a Cobb salad that came with two chicken strips, what I should say were very large chicken strips. The salad bowl was simply huge, and had such an array of offerings on it that I was very pleased with the portion size, as well as the quality of the food. While we were looking over the menus, I presume a manager, who is named David, came over and asked us if we had any questions on the menu asked us if we had been there before, and engaged in the general conversation about the Restaurants concept. This was real pleasing to all of us diners because he was real helpful and explaining some of the history behind the restaurant. In conclusion, I would certainly come here again. So, I went to the location over in Austin years ago and I LOVED the chicken that they serve here. I finally was able to take my boyfriend here, as I always raved about how delicious their chicken was, plus I was craving chicken. We were immediately greeted with THE coolest & chillest dude ever, who ended up being our server and taking care of us. (For the life of me, I really cannot remember his name right now as I'm typing this out, but he was a super cool dude and I loved him!) We were seated right away and our server was super helpful and gave some of his personal recommendations. I decided to opt in for a chicken sandwich, since I had chicken tenders just the other night. I ordered the Tupelo Hot Honey Sandwich because I love me some hot honey and fried chicken together. My boyfriend got the 3-piece chicken tenders and he got them at the "Mo'Hot" spice level, which wasn't too terribly spicy, but there was definitely a kick there. Our food came out promptly and our server was very attentive (and even told me and my boyfriend that we were fabulous!) The chicken was juicy and spiced perfectly, just how I remembered it and they pair their chicken with bread and butter pickles which are my absolute favorite, so everything was just a delicious bite right after the other. I ordered the 1/4 white chicken for my main dish. I like that you can select the level of spiciness of the chicken. I decided to play it safe and order it hot (2nd level) but I could have ordered the next level. One thing I wish I knew before placing my order was how big the chicken would be! I still can't believe I only ordered the 1/4 size. The chicken skin was so crispy and I like that you get the spice not just from the skin but from the meat as well. Some items listed on the salad description seemed weird to me but once I bit into it all the combinations really do work together so give it a try without substituting anything first. The skin was crispy & the chicken was moist & actually has flavor. It did not rely on the skin for flavor. My Mac & cheese was creamy & had a nice al dente. I didn't enjoy my collard greens because it was too vinegary and overpowering with pickled flavored. It was also a bit watery for my liking, but it was not bad I just wouldn't order it again. My friend chicken sandwich was juicy and the sauce was spot on. His French fries reminds me of Mc Donald's fries, nothing bad about it I just wouldn't order it. At the end I had some room for their dessert. The buttermilk pie was good. It was creamy & had a custard like taste to it. It was sweet & had some zest; I think they added lemon extract to it as well. The crust was a little raw but I can look past that. I will say that it's a bit too sweet for my liking, so one slice and I'm good. Overall it was an awesome experience, from the service to the food and even the decor. I definitely left satisfied. We were looking for a place to eat and Tumble 22 came up as a suggestion. I've had the Austin OG bookmarked for awhile and knew they had put one up near Tomball as well. I didn't know this location was even a thing until now! Apparently it's been open for a month as of yesterday. We came early evening and parking was plentiful. We were seating right away and the great service started right away. Channing was our waitress and she was outstanding from start to finish. An added bonus was manager Shane who was constantly checking up on us and made sure we had an above average experience. We were in no rush and was there not only to eat, but to hang and chill. Never did we feel rushed. We started off with Deviled Eggs and Szechuan Fries. They asked if we wanted a little spice in the eggs and we said absolutely. The Deviled Eggs were made perfectly. The crisp bacon and added spice made for a delightful bite. The Szechuan Fries were good, but that spicy mustard on it was potent. I would suggest something a little more Szechuan style flavored. This was more like a horseradish or spicy honey mustard sauce. We were saying how good everything looked so we got something in every major category as far as entrees go. I personally went with the Chicken Bites with fries. I got it at the Dang Hot level which was a Serrano heat level. The food came out piping hot and fresh. The chicken was basically nuggets in steroids. The cook was perfect and crispy and the dry seasoning was delicious. It packed some heat which had me sweating, but nothing I couldn't handle. The fries were great, almost identical to McD's fries which are the best fries around. I also got a side of Mac&Cheese. I loved this side. It was my made the way I liked. Nice and creamy without any toppings. We also had the bone in chicken and a couple of chicken sandwiches. Everyone loved their food. They specially made us a Buttermilk Pie shake and we also got an Oreo shake. Someone in the back came and asked if I liked coffee and they specially made me an espresso Oreo Cream Shake. Good Lord! If you sign up for a rewards account, you get a free Sichuan fries! These are amazing fries if you like cilantro, and you can order them as a side of the combo too! As someone who was fond of the original food truck back in Downtown Austin, this was not as good as I had remembered. First off... I was disappointed to find that the chicken oysters were no longer on the menu. I assumed this could be due to difficulty sourcing them with the pains of scaling up. Our waiter mentioned they hadn't "Grand Opened" and could still be tweaking the menu. However, it looks like they've been open and dishing out food for more than a month at this point. Another odd moment was when neither the waiter or manager could identify their own spice seasonings. We had a potential mix up where they could not differentiate between the "Stupid Hot" and "Dang Hot." They couldn't read their own handwriting and had to send both items back to the kitchen to figure out what was what. It turns out the Dang Hot is visually much darker and almost black in color compared to the reddish tint of the Stupid Hot. Other than that, the food was decent. The tenders leaned towards towards dryer side and somewhat bland. As for the Szechuan Fries, they could use less hot honey and more of that spicy Szechuan kick. It was a nice size, much bigger than a typical slider. enough to fill me up. The taste was spectacular! The coleslaw was amazing! I'd order some as a side on its own.
