My family decided to give Tumble22 a try when they first opened a few weeks ago - we have been back 6 times since...We have picked up curbside each time but once - you order and pay online and then pull into one of their numbered parking sports at the appointed time, call the restaurant and they will run it to your car. Once I have had them get the order wrong (nuggets instead of tenders) and they bent over backwards when I called them by saying 'keep the nuggets to snack on and we will have you a fresh box waiting when you return' - they also through extra sides and desserts that we had not ordered into the pickup as an apology; excellent response by management. We all tried the Og Crispy Sandwich it was delicious. We expected the drive-through to take a little while based on the fact that the chicken is hot and fresh. However that wasn't the case. The food was not only hot and fresh it came quite quickly. We tried a few of the sides. The macaroni and cheese. The coleslaw. And the fries.All of which were good but there was no stand out. I generally make Nashville Hot Chicken at home as I haven't found a place that gets it anywhere near acceptable heat. I ordered the Lil' Chicken Sandwich, (slaw on the side) fries and a drink through the drive-thru. The food was brought to my car hot and fresh. For the record, I ordered 'Stupid Hot' for the chicken. When it comes to spicy/heat, some places talk the talk, others walk the walk. Tumble 22 walks the walk. Everyone's heat tolerance is different. But the Stupid Hot is close, or even slightly hotter, than what I've made at home. The heat was giving warning signals. But the flavor was so good, I couldn't help but finish the sandwich. I ordered the slaw on the side as I was concerned it might be an overly-goopy mayo version. But the slaw was perfect for me and an excellent companion for the sandwich. I went to this place 2 days in a row that's how good it is- the first time I went I unfortunately lost my rings and the staff did not hesitate to get on the floor and look for it! The customer service there is phenomenal! The second time I went was in the drive thru and the lady was so funny and honest when I ordered the 'cluckin hot' she looked at me like I was crazy haha! This place is AMAZING. We were greeted and seated by Nisha (the manager) and had our food brought to us by Suzanne and they both were the sweetest people to me and my partner. They made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food came out so quickly and was DELICIOUS. Felt like eating a hot, home cooked meal. This is usually one of my favorite spots but unfortunately yesterday was marked by some extremely disappointing service. Typically we like to eat at the restaurant but yesterday I tried to get take out (I figured I could order one of the family packs in the drive thru). Well as it turns out the family packs aren't listed on the drive through board and so I had to ask the person on the other end about them. I have gotten a family pack before and it was an excellent option that included sides and cookies. Well the options I was given on the intercom were not that and led to the price being twice as much!!!!! So I could've gotten the same if not more food for a better price but I wasn't even given the option, and when I paid there was a tip on there (for the drive through?????) for 20% which honestly should not have been there!!!!!! So I ended up paying double for something that is offered for much less. I feel like I was scammed. I usually love this place but I sure got ripped off. read more

We really like the new and improved Tumble 22. We had fried chicken and a hot chicken sandwich and everything was delicious, along with the deviled eggs. It is now a sit down restaurant with full time servers and the service was prompt and on point. They've also added a full bar with a solid craft beer and cocktail selection, at least I think it's new. Some of the best chicken in Houston, hands down. But they lose a few points on a couple of key aspects of a restaurant. Drive through: unique but somewhat effective. Order your food at the window and then park in the designated area until they bring your order out to you. It might be faster to just have a speaker system setup like all fast food places so that they can que orders, but I suspect that the reason they choose to not do this is that they use more authentic and fresher ingredients that makes it impossible to prepare an order from the time you place it at a speaker box to the time that you arrive at the payment window, but I can't help to think that there might be some other efficient way to run a drive through than have employees run back and fourth to the parking lot. The next part is where they lose most of thier points. They recently changed thier "dine in" experience from "order and pay at the register then find a table and get your own drink" to "we will seat you, staff will take your order and bring you your food and drink." In my personal opinion they way they do things now is far inferior. While in the past I could have qued in line and made my order immediately, I now had to wait until a member of the staff was available to take my order, which took some time. I was also discouraged from refilling my own drink, and so I had to wait approximately 8-9minutes until I could get a refill. I dont believe that this was due to staff members being slow, they appeared busy, so it seems like a staffing and training issue. Needless to say, my most recent visit was not as enjoyable as my previous visits. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt though, maybe this was thier first day with the new policy and they have some kinks to work out. I definitely appreciate how much this restaurant is setup to be as "covid aware" as possible. I would still recommend going to this restaurant any day to have some of the best tasting fried chicken in Houston. I would just not delay in eating your order too long (for those of you curbsideing or drive through) as the fried chicken is best enjoyed straight out of the fryer. Great food and service! The greens were delicious! All the sides were very good. The chicken was so yummy. I got hit and it was a perfect mild heat. The sandwich was great. The sides were pretty good. I should have read the menu before ordering. I placed my order on the website and the order there didn't specify that the OG was gigantic. I assumed OG just had all the fixings (slaw, pickles, etc.). I thought that must be why it was more expensive. I know to read no lol because, as good as it was, it was so big it is easily enough for two people. I would definitelt recommend trying the place. Waited for 20 minutes in the drive thru line just to place my order (only 5 cars in front of me) and then waited another 15 minutes in a stall for them to bring out my order. This starts simply based on what i started observing. Food server has mask under his nose while bringing out food. Somehow our order is skipped and people that were dining in while we were in line in drive through have come and gone. Finally our food is brought by same food server. We get home and we settle down to eat. Grab a piece got the dang hot half mix. Drumstick was incredible and I immediately jump into thigh to realize I'm about to eat bloody uncooked chicken. Was it because we were skipped accidentally and they rushed to make ours and didn't properly cook the chicken? I'll never know because I'm now changing to a star only because I can't give a zero.
