I don't understand how this place has such high reviews. It's really pretty inside but they really had the audacity to charge me $27 for frozen store-bought salmon, frozen pre packaged microwaved asparagus, and instant potatoes.I didn't want to cause a scene so I just didn't finish it and gave it back and they really wanted to know why I didn't eat all of my food so I told them, "okay I'm sorry but I know this is frozen and I know these are instant potatoes" (also I ordered the rice in the first place) and they said "no no it's all fresh we're always fresh." But honey real potatoes are not that powdery. And they don't come out in 5 minutes. Also it was "strawberry salmon" which I've had before at Hemenway's where they roasted the strawberries, it was delicious. But here, they served raw sliced strawberries doused in a balsamic reduction that was so sweet it tasted like chocolate. It was like a salmon Sunday. Even the asparagus had a weird smell, it smelled like fried food it was so weird and they were super professed in color even. Trust me-I cook- and I know when something is frozen and not fresh. The only thing that might have been fresh was the enormous amount of parsley all over the dish. Also the water was warm they kept serving us...which was weird. Had a baby shower yesterday for my daughter-in-law couldn't have been any happier with the carousel room it was beautiful all the wait staff were outstanding very attentive very professional both Eddie and Bruce were fabulous the food was absolutely delicious I'm gluten-free and called ahead to request the Chicken piccata with gluten-free penne pasta it was one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten I can't speak highly enough for the waitstaff the room the food everything just perfect read more

So I brought the whole family to give this restaurant a try. As we entered we heard live music playing that was just the right tempo. At first glance you will notice the amazing unique architecture. This place is beautiful, comfortable, and totally relaxing. The wait staff immediately greeted us. We ordered several of the appetizers and entrées and were totally blown away with the quality. The wait staff was attentive and and provided just the right amount of service. By dessert time we were singing along with live Music by Steve Burke. My wife is now wearing a Burke Button. Nice cute place. The food was pretty good. My table shared the nacho appetizer, the pulled pork on it was fantastic. For my entree I got the spinach pear salad which I enjoyed, vinaigrette was a bit too strong for me. One of my friends got the chicken gnocchi which I tried a bite of and it was amazing. Her boyfriend got the burger (not sure which one). He enjoyed it except the onion rings came out looking half fried. They were still limp. The bun was also flattened as if someone had sat on it. The service needs serious work though. We never seemed to see our waitress. And when she did come check on us, getting something we asked for (like ketchup for the burger which didn't arrive till the food was half gone or a refill on water) took a 15 minute wait each time. Maybe she was overwhelmed with tables I'm not sure but she didn't seem to care much either way. Overall nice place and I would return for the food. Outside area looked nice (we sat inside). Visited for lunch today have.. been several times for breakfast but was never impressed. So decided to try to lunch orderd the French onion soup which lacked flavor. The Italian panini which is made with prosciutto roasted red peppers salami cheese was very disappointed it was on white thin bread not buttered didn't even look grills definitely not a panini!!! That I am usually used of having. It was cold the food was cold my food came out right after the French onion soup was served I had two bites of my soup in the food was there.. so didn't even have time to enjoy my soup. because then my lunch was cold.. my husband ordered the French dip the meat was very dry!!! We decided to try this place out after reading the positive reviews. We sat at the bar downstairs, while we were there the bartenders were pulled outside and fired ( who fires bartenders on a Sat night at 6:30?) They did not have a replacement. I finally made it here for breakfast with my dad yesterday. We both enjoyed the steak and eggs. It was cooked perfectly. Kathy was our waitress and she was so sweet and informative. Big points for ambience and personality. The layout of this restaurant is very cool and unusual. Lots of seating options including a nice outdoor courtyard with live acoustic music on the weekend. We found this place to be a lovely surprise. Located on busy mineral spring street, we had our doubts. Once inside we decided to tour the space and it was creative, classy, and cute all at the same time. They have and old school tavern, more formal dining space, out door dining, out door bar area and function room. It way larger than its view from the street. To add to the creativity, there are two unique gift shops that adjoin the facility. We found the services slow, but not for lack of effort. Servers seemed to need to cover more tables than they can handle. The food was delivered slower that expected and we wonder once again if it was an under staffing problem. There was only 1 other group in the restaurant with us that had there food already. Service was AWFUL. Asked the waitress who was not where to be found what was taking so long. Been here twice so far. Came once and had great food & service. Restaurant is nice looking, clean, and neat. Food with a great presentation, and friendly waitstaff. Came the 2nd time a half-hour before close and got the feeling they were done for the night with the "only apps and burgers" direction. Terrible ownership, weak management, and the worst Easter brunch I've ever had. Christine, the owner, swiped my credit card without my authorization, after I was told by management I wouldn't be charged for the awful buffet they served on Easter. There is a receipt lying around Tumblesalts with my credit card number charging my bank account without my signed authorization! The owner nor management ever bothered to inform me I was being charged for the awful food and terrible management myself and my family experienced that day. The buffet didn't have enough serving utensils, so the same utensil you served yourself ham or roast beef with was the same utensil used for the fish. Gross! The overcooked eggs benedict was served over stale English muffins, and the hollandaise sauce was not thoroughly cooked. It looked like curdled cheddar cheese. The chicken marsala sauce was gelatinous. Scrambled eggs are never good at a buffet, and these did not disappoint, and the list just goes on and on. If the buffet was advertised on their website, I would not have made the reservation, as I do not do buffets after COVID, and neither do my guests that came from out of town. I should have considered a recent visitor's opinion to Tumblesalts who said the place was just "all right". I don't believe any of the good reviews they get on their website or anywhere else. When my party arrived for the reservation we had made in advance, the restaurant got our party number wrong, when I asked if they could still accommodate, the manager was extremely rude. It took 30 minutes for our waitress to take a drink order and 40 minutes for them to arrive. When it was time to order, the manager came and said we could no longer have breakfast from the menus that we were given. We were given lunch menus after looking and breakfast menus for 40 minutes. When our food finally arrived most of the orders had substituted items that we had not asked for. When asked why our meals were different from what we ordered we were informed the kitchen had run out of items. Throughout this entire process, no one came over to apologize. Overall, the service was terrible, the food was overpriced, and most tasted like it had been frozen. read more

I tried a couple things and they were all good, plus the space is cute. But it is confusing inside, because there are essentially multiple restaurants in the one building, but there are people there to help you figure it out. Dinner wasn't as big a hit for me, I didn't really care for the taste of my pasta, and I found a clam shell in it (it was a chicken pasta) I would probably come back for dinner anyway though, I'll just be ordering something different. read more

The interior and exterior remind me of a vineyard tasting room. Mineral Spring Avenue is like in another time zone once inside the compound of buildings. For all the money and effort the Pinos have put into creating a very sophisticated but homey place, sadly all the previous reviews about the food are true. I was there last month for breakfast. I was served watermelon that was at least 3-5 days old. The fruit in the mimosa was in better shape. My husband had the eggs and steak tips. By definition steak tips are tips, bite size. These were not bite size. The steak was tough to cut and chew-beware if you have TMJ issues-you're jaw will get a real work out. The butter for the pancakes was cold. We requested water and never received a glass. We were only one of four tables occupied so it's not like the kitchen and wait staffs were overwhelmed. The front of the house is friendly...and tries so hard. A real good energy they all possess. My husband and I especially giggled when we asked for a refill that one of the servers took our cups and two steps away from the table and bent over the floor so as to not spill a drop of coffee on the table. The back of the house-I suggest the next round of interviews for a chef include cooking an egg. I truly don't want to see this restaurant fail...but I can't see how it can succeed with the current management in place. These concerns about the food are months old...and again all true. read more

I love what they've done with this little corner of Centerdale. The gift shops and restaurant are a great addition. It is confusing which entrance to go in. There is no right door and there is no host station. You walk in and stand there until someone notices you. All rooms share the same menu. The service is great and the food is good. We've been here three or four times. I think our favorite room to dine in is the pub. Best dish is the meatloaf for sure. read more
