    Burned Chimichanga Kids Meal

We ordered carryout for a late dinner. The kids meal Chimichanga was burned. #disappointed

I personally love Tumbleweed however my kids do not. If Tracey is working the bar, I know I'll have excellent service, otherwise it's hit or miss.

This is the Jr. Burrito, kids Cheeseburger and Taco Salad. Margarita, sweet tea, and sprite.

Well we have lived here for a year and we finally made it over here to Tumbleweeds. This is an awesome place for lunch. Omg I can't say enough. We had a Jr. Burrito, Taco salad, and a kid's cheeseburger. Andrew was the best waiter, he was in top of everything and made sure that we had everything. He recommended the good stuff. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. The host was very attentive and sat us quickly. Thanks for the grub.

Tumbleweed has always been at the top of my list for TexMex. I'm in love with their Beef Burrito Deluxes. They always have the perfect amount of beef to cheese ratio and the sauce is to die for. It's definitely something you can eat and open your sinuses up at the same time. That's why I usually order a frozen strawberry margarita on the side. Cools down the mouth. My absolute favorite part of every stop here is the chips and queso. Do yourself a favor and order the salsa with it and dip your chips into the queso and then into the salsa before chowing down. The combo is amazing. It's the only place I mix like that. The service here is amazing. The waitress we had was completely attentive and super friendly. She even brought us over a ton of extra salsa that didn't get eaten and didn't get mad when I told her my date was allergic to peppers and couldn't eat it. (Probably should have mentioned that before hand but we didn't think about it until after she had set it all down and left).

    Chile Mango salmon

Every time I go to tumbleweed, I always get the Chile Mango Salmon along with the rice and veggies. The salmon sits on potato Planks , which I think are very delicious. I've been getting the same thing for a while now and they haven't disappointed me yet. If you love salmon, you can't go wrong with this meal.

Our chips, salsa and creamy jalapeño dip arrived quickly and we dug right in. I've missed the creamy jalapeño dip so much, it's lite but also so satisfying. I wouldn't classify it as spicy but a welcome treat with chips. I love their chips too - so lite and crispy, easy to eat a basket. For lunch we ordered the chicken fajitas tacos, combo platter with chili and kids burger. The food came out pretty quickly but not before a chip refill. My tacos were good - slightly bland but I was able to build my own taco since it just arrived with meat with the toppings on the side. The chili relleno was fried and crispy and oh so delicious. We usually order it at another chain but it's not crispy on the outside. The kids burger was good - though he never got the push pop and we forgot to ask about it. Overall a good chain with amazing chips and dip!

If someone had told me a few years ago that one of the most culturally immersive, electrifying, and…read moreculinary-forward ethnic dining experiences in the United States would be found in Louisville, Kentucky, I might have been highly skeptical. But La Bodeguita De Mima (at 725 E Market St) completely shatters any preconceptions. Chefs Fernando and Yaniel Martinez have created more than just a restaurant; they have built a lasting highlight to Cuba that captivates from the moment you approach the building. The ambiance here is an absolute masterclass in restaurant design. The exterior--painted in eye-catching, vibrant tropical hues--hints at the escape inside. The moment you walk in, you are instantly transported back in time to 1950s Havana. The air is thick with the rich, intoxicating aromas of garlic, citrus, and roasting pork, underscored by the lively rhythms of classic salsa music. The Appetizers (Aperitivos): We kicked off the meal with the Papas Rellenas and Empanadas Cubanas. The papas--crispy, golden-breaded potato balls stuffed with a savory, deeply seasoned beef picadillo--were perfect. When paired with the house cilantro aioli, it's pure magic. The empanadas feature a remarkably flaky crust packed with perfectly spiced filling that sets a benchmark for what Latin street food can elevate to when handled by master chefs. The Main Course (Fuertes): For the entrees, the Lechón Asado is mandatory. As the undisputed king of Cuban pork, this dish features marinated, incredibly tender, slow-roasted pork that melts in your mouth, brightened by a sharp, garlicky mojo sauce. It is served alongside exceptional congris (black beans and rice cooked together) and sweet, caramelized maduros (fried plantains). We also tried the Ropa Vieja, a flawlessly executed Cuban classic of braised, shredded beef simmered in a rich tomato-wine sauce with sweet peppers and onions. The balance of acidity, savory depth, and melt-in-your-mouth texture was a triumph. The Drinks & Dessert: You cannot leave without ordering a cocktail. Their Mojito is easily the best in the city--crisp, perfectly muddled, and dangerously refreshing. To close out the night, we ordered the Habano de Chocolate, a stunningly creative dessert shaped exactly like a Cuban cigar, complete with an almond cake and Nutella core, served alongside a flawless, velvety Café Cubano (espresso shot). La Bodeguita De Mima honors the soul of Cuban home cooking while presenting it in a world-class, vibrant venue. For those searching for authentic, high-quality ethnic food, impeccable hospitality, and an unforgettable atmosphere in Louisville, look no further. Mima's house is open, and you absolutely need to visit. We will return; it is a must-stop.

It could just be mediocre pub food, but the food here is very, very good. I don't know why, but when I'm in the south, I get the hankering for a deviled egg. So we started with the deviled eggs (Los Huevos El Diablo), which, despite the name, were not super spicy. They had just the right amount of spice. One thing to know about me is: If I see a patty melt on the menu, I will order that. So I got the Merle's Melt, which is a burger patty with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, plus bacon and special sauce on buttered toast. It was sublimely tasty! It comes with house-made chips, which were good. They also offer tacos on the menu. One of my children got one steak taco and one chicken taco. The tacos are topped with tomato, lettuce and cojita cheese. I was told that these were very good! My kid eats like a bird, but ate one and a half tacos, so that must say something, right? The Lip Smack'n Mac & Cheese was also ordered, as well as the fried chicken, because the menu says that the fried chicken is award-winning, so how could we not? The fried chicken was super crispy and tasty, and the mac and cheese was creamy and made with large shells, which is the best kind of pasta to use for mac and cheese (in my opinion). The service was great, the lighting was great, and we were seated quickly, even though they seemed busy. It was a good place to have a family dinner in Louisville.

We then moved onto the cochinita and the mushroom based tortilla. The cochinita was a good sized serving topped with an orange sauce. I enjoyed it pretty thoroughly and it was a pleasant surprise. My wife had the mushroom tortilla dish which the mushrooms themselves were good, but we noticed the tortilla felt as if it wasn't cooked all the way through and had a doughy taste to it still. The tortilla may have been too thick but either way it was slightly off putting. To drink we split a Jamaica with mint which was delicious and hydrating. It was mainly a mint leaf that added the slight mint flavor so it didn't over power the hibiscus. Would highly recommend. For a desert we had a Mexican tiramisu which was overall a great end to the overall food. Only negative was the mandarins slice on the top of the dessert was very tart which clashed with the sweetness of the dessert. The ambiance was decent and had low light setting which was nice, we personally did not like how close together the seats were as it made it seem like the just wanted to cram as many people into the area to maximize profits. Would be nice to have a bit more space. Speaking of profit, I do believe the dishes were solid but I truthfully don't think the prices are worth it. I understand the farm fresh is a huge part of it, but when you're selling 3 tacos for 25$ it's clear there's a specific group of people this is geared towards in addition to the part of town. This is the main reason I am giving it a 4/5. The service was exemplary and our server was on time, very polite and was amazing at giving recommendations. She was the one that recommended the starter. Overall would come here sporadically or for special occasions but would not make it a regular occurrence due to pricing.

It was a group of elders who sang 1960's songs like Roy Orbison and Herman's Hermits. Sadly, they were also...not great. But there were tables full of white people of the same age group who went wild for it, so I guess thats on me. It reminded me of a celebration in a senior living facility but maybe this restaurant has tapped into a secret money making trick? White people rejoice! Anyway, we started off with the Chorizo Queso Fundido appetizer. It came bubbling on a cast iron plate but was so hot the cheese solidified to the pan and really all you could scoop up was the meat. Which is fine but not a cheese dip? My entree was the Chile Colorado (Grilled steak strips on hot salsa. Served with rice, beans and 3 tortillas.). Steak was tough and had a lot of gristle. Sauce was OK, but not spicy (although maybe it is for this area, idk) Honestly the beans and rice were the best part and when have you EVER said that about a dish from a Mexican restaurant? My friend got a steak burrito which he said was very lettuce heavy and not large at all. Service was OK for the amount of people inside and time of day.
