Very unprofessional experience. I placed an order and then called back shortly after to cancel one of the pizzas. The person who answered told me to hold, and I was left on hold for about 10-12 minutes. By that point, I was already on my way to the shop. When I got there, the older man working was on the phone. I let him know I had tried to call to cancel one of my pizzas. He asked for my name, then told me the pizzas were already done. I explained that I didn't need both anymore and only wanted one since I wasn't serving as many people as I originally thought. Instead of trying to help, he responded in a rude tone saying they were already made. I asked if I was still expected to pay for both, and he replied with something along the lines of whether he was supposed to just throw them away. I made it clear I was paying for a pizza, I just didn't need the extra one & that I been coming here for years. He then gave me a sarcastic look and walked off. I had my baby with me, and she just wanted pizza, the fact that he walked off without serving me the pizza is just evil. Definitely not a place I'd return to based on how I was treated. read more

My parents live like 10 minutes from Tumby's and in a pinch, when more people showed up than were invited to their house, we ordered some pizza to subsidize the meal. King used to be our go to but their quality lacks lately so I was happy to check this place out. The ordering was simple and prices were reasonable so we took a shot. Pizza arrived hot and on time. Delivery was friendly. The pizza itself was the okayest pizza ever. Wasn't as bad as Chuck E. Cheese or shakeys. It wasn't as good as good pizza. It was ok. It fed people. I ordered a family deal with two extra large specialty pizzas and a 2 liter with lemon pepper wings. With an order of Buffalo wings on the side. DoorDash brought my meal and the food was hot. However the lemon pepper wings were burnt, the BBQ Chicken Pizza had no BBQ sauce in it at all and instead of them bringing my Starry that was ordered they sent me a Pepsi. I was disappointed that most of my order was a problem. I reached out to DoorDash and they offered no type of credit or refund after I submitted the pictures. So I proceeded and called Tumby's and they had no consideration or customer service and told me they were unable to offer me anything. I even asked if they can remake it and I would come and pick it up and the Manager told me no. I actually like Tumbys and never had a problem before but they for sure lost me as a customer. So I've never had Tumby's but I've heard good things about it. I was looking for some pizza on postmates and they popped up, so I went for it. I was pleasantly surprised it was pretty good I ordered a pepperoni, chicken and pineapple pizza, pepperoni and bacon pizza and hot wings. The pizza was delicious, shamelessly almost ate half of the box lol the wings we good too however I do prefer my wings fried hard these were baked I would say. I ordered online for pickup at the location on 83rd and they called to make sure I didn't need my order closer to another location I usually order from. That's great customer service! This pizza never fails to please, it is full bodied and full flavored. The toppings are the perfect ratio to cheese sauce and crust. This has a real pizza crust not a cracker, pizza dough is important. If you don't want to sit and eat it like a breadstick after you pass all the toppings, then what's the point? I got the cheapest pizza they had (3 topping large or something like $7 or $8). Picked up my pie in-store through the plexiglass. Think about those ready pizzas from Lil Ceaser's, only fresher and slightly better flavor. Get the chili flakes, get the parm; throw whatever spices you can at it because it does need help when you get home. I ordered some Tumby's via Postmates and had mixed feelings about the quality of the food. I ordered a large vegetarian pizza and a garden salad. The salad was extremely subpar and less than mediocre. Whoever made it did not take care when making it because their was a lot of dead lettuce in the salad. It was served with mushrooms, cucumber, cheese, tomato, onion and croutons on top which was covering the iceberg lettuce. It didn't look pretty, and it just tasted okay but I ate it anyway. The only redeeming factor about my Tumby's experience was of course, the pizza! The pizza was great! The crust, sauce, cheese and vegetables all paired well together to make a yummy, delicious pizza. I will order food from them again but I will not order the garden salad ever again. read more

Called to place an order for pickup because they stop delivering after 8 or 9pm, no biggie. 10:07pm is when i called. The woman on the phone was sweet and said it'd be 15 mins. Great. I waited 15-20 mins, then called my Uber. I arrived at 10:42pm, and was told "it's in the oven right now." Ok, so the pizza's taken MORE THAN DOUBLE the time they told me. Normally I wouldn't really mind, but this time I ubered, and therefore didn't have much time--driver was waiting. Then, I saw the manager walking around behind the counter with no mask on. So, I took the opportunity to provide the manager with some honest feedback. I told him that even though my order took over two times the time I was told, I wasn't too upset, but seeing the GM walking around the kitchen and back areas without a mask was "a bit alarming." These were my exact words, because I didn't want to come off as being rude or a bad customer. I didn't ask for anything, wasn't accusatory, etc., just providing calm, honest feedback. Miguel, the general manager of this location, immediately scoffed and essentially tried to get me to fuck off. He quickly replied, "I was on break. If you have a problem with me not having my mask on during break then I will give you your money back!" Not sure if he meant that he'd give me my order with a refund, or whether he was going to cancel it, and shocked by his quickness to hostility, I just said "sure." So he quickly gave me my money back and pretty much dismissed me. I asked, "So, you just canceled my order?" And he said yes, because apparently you're not comfortable with our food and service because I had my mask on during break!" Now I was pissed. My Uber canceled on me because of the wait, so this order had now cost me extra Uber money and an hour of my time, and I had a GM getting mad at me for giving honest feedback. So I said, "Well yeah I am uncomfortable when the GENERAL MANAGER OF A FOOD SERVICE BUSINESS IS KNOWINGLY WALKING AROUND THE KITCHEN AND BACK AREAS OF THE RESTAURANT WITHOUT A MASK DURING A PANDEMIC! Your employees wear masks, why wouldn't you, the GENERAL MANAGER? And then you go and CANCEL my order after you make me wait an HOUR and get my Uber canceled, costing me even MORE MONEY?! So now I have to go home hungry, out $15 Uber money, having lost an hour of my time, for NOTHING?!" So then he offered to give me my pizza at regular cost. I paid, took it, and left. I will never visit this location again. The general manager demonstrates a gross negligence in food safety by walking around maskless in the back areas. He is supposed to lead by example, but his employees wear masks while he doesn't. Next, he CANNOT accept honest feedback like a good manager does. He quickly jumps to hostility, escalating the situation, embarrassing his employees, and making the customers feel uncomfortable/unwelcome. Finally, he's just plain rude and careless--why the hell would he just cancel my order when I told him that I had an Uber waiting? Just fucked up man. What a crappy manager. read more

I have spent hundreds of dollars at this location since I moved to this neighborhood 18 months ago (mostly because I really try to support neighborhood restaurants rather than big chains). I recently made a large order for two neighbors who were laid off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I felt bad for them and wanted to surprise them with a nice treat. I made my order online and it included two orders of the dessert breadsticks. I even tipped the restaurant employees 20% on my order as a thank you for working during this difficult time. When I arrived, they said they only received one order. I took their word for it. However, I looked at my receipt and realized that no - they charged me for two even though they only gave me one. Tonight I called to see if this pizza place would make their mistake right and spoke to a man named "Juan". I'm fairly certain he's lying about his name. He cut me off every chance he got, refusing to let me finish a sentence to explain what happened. You'd think I was insulting his mother just by explaining the mistake was on behalf of the restaurant. This dude lacks not just customer service skills, but people skills. Restaurants are going out of business left and right. You'd think they'd at least try to keep the loyal customers they have in the midst of this pandemic. And it's $7. Would someone really try to scam a mediocre pizza joint out of $7? I make more money in the 10 minutes I took to call them and write this review. The reality is, their food is meh, but it's close and cheap. And plus, I'm really trying to put my money where my mouth is by supporting local. But the more I order from crap holes in this neighborhood, the more I realize, workers and management in 90047 generally suck, have low to no work ethic and don't value the people who spend money in their shops. Soon, gentrifications will take out this spot and it'll be replaced with a more upscale joint without burglar bars on the door and bulletproof glass between the cashier and the customer. Until then, I'll file a dispute with my credit card and buy my pizza from the South Bay or Culver City where people have basic respect for other humans. read more

I stumbled on Tumby's on yelp earlier today as I was having a mad pizza craving. The pizzeria was underwhelming aestetically, but that's unimportant. My Dad and I ordered two large 3 topping pizzas for about 18.00. Which is significantly cheap, compared to Domino's and Pizza Hut. The cashier that took our order said it would take 15 mins, and she was right. I timed the order on my phone. Upon tasting the pizzas, I was pleasantly surprised! The pizza was delicious!!
