After having an amazing experience at Tupelo Honey in Charlotte, we figured we'd run a little experiment: Was that location just unusually good, or is the whole brand this consistent? Turns out... they're showing off. We ordered the exact same dishes--the Sweet & Spicy Chicken and the Shrimp & Grits--and somehow they were just as ridiculously good as we remembered. I honestly can't remember the last time I cleaned an entire plate at a restaurant without eventually saying, "I'm full." Apparently, Tupelo Honey doesn't recognize those words. The cocktails were fantastic, the food was outstanding, and then we noticed something that probably should come with a warning label: a table with self-serve champagne on tap. Thankfully, we exercised the rarest form of adult self-control and didn't sit there. The Hangover Gods nodded in approval. But then we saw the $3 mimosas... so naturally we made a couple of questionable--but delicious--life decisions. As if that wasn't enough, they also have daily drink specials. Three-dollar martinis? That's the kind of math I can get behind. Do yourself a favor and give Tupelo Honey a try. The food is consistently excellent, the drinks are dangerously affordable, and you'll probably leave wondering why you ever eat anywhere else. Tupelo Honey is one of my favorite spots, especially because of the people who work there. The bartenders and servers have always been so friendly and are a big part of why I enjoy coming back. Their spiked strawberry lemonade is my go-to drink, and the fact that it's currently only $6 makes it even better. They also often have great food deals, which makes it an easy choice when you're looking for good food and drinks without spending a ton. Sometimes the best places are near the hotel... this is one. Southern style breakfast/lunch meals are in full effect here. You'll find inside & patio seating(dogs welcome on the patio), full bar and full menu. Clean, bright lighting and plenty of seating. We beat the rush so seating was easy. I chose the Shrimp & Grits - excellent flavor, not too spicy, creamy & cheesy grits with a nice portion of shrimp. Chorizo was a nice touch. For my wife it was the Bourbon and Peppercorn Glazed Meatloaf with Mac & Cheese and Green Beans. The meat loaf was a little hard in the outside. Inside it was tender and delicious. Whenever I can find a restaurant that has a nice strawberry salad like I had here, I always jump at the chance. Today was the exception in terms of how good this salad was. It had lots of strawberries with sliced candied walnuts, red onion and a very good selection of greens as well. I probably missed some ingredients but I was eating so fast. I ordered tupelo shrimp & grits, american white gulf shrimp with smoky chorizo sausage, peperonata, and creole sauce over creamy stone-ground goat cheese grits, topped with scallions & griddled lemon. I was in hog heaven the food was so good! I ordered a coffee and was amazed by the presentation of my coffee. I thought it would be a cup of coffee, cream and sugar. But the presentation on a little plate had me smiling from ear to ear. My daughter ordered the salmon with cream potatoes. She said it was delicious! Our Server was Awesome!!! Chose this place on a whim because this location was close to the station and I just really wanted some brunch. Honestly, at first I was let down by the fact that my meal, the morning mountain bowl, was mostly a soup. The potatoes were a very nice addition but in my opinion too little for how big the serving was. However the BLT was delicious, and the fries that came with it were spectacular. The actual amount of food that we got for the price was great, and our server was friendly. I had high hopes for Tupelo Honey based on reviews. We came as a group, I know they were probably understaffed that day so it took a bit to get seated/service but the staff was very nice. We came for brunch and overall food was okay. I think the best thing we ate was the shrimp and grits. The fried pickles were very salty. The Honey pecan chicken salad sandwich with Brussels sprouts was good but felt there could have been more filling. Their mimosa flight is fun! We enjoyed that. Stopped here on a visit to Denver. Parking was a bit tedious but that's expected downtown. At the time we arrived they weren't too busy. I ordered a meal special that included fried chicken, pancakes, eggs and bacon. I was a little sad that it wasn't specified that I would get boneless chicken versus bone in. Overall it was a good meal. My pancakes were fluffy! I ordered a side of toast that didn't come out and I had to remind the waitress twice to get it. I also ordered the mimosa flight. I came on a Sunday morning and was seated quickly upon arrival. The menu is quite extensive with plenty of variety, but I definitely had my eye on the chicken since that's what they are known for. Here's what I ordered: 1. The biscuits for a cause were delicious, and I love that the proceeds go to charity. 2. The fried pickles had a thicker batter than I usually prefer, but they were still tasty, especially paired with the ranch. 3. The buttermilk fried chicken tenders were outstanding and the three sauces they came with were all equally amazing. 4. The honey dusted fried chicken was perfectly crispy and full of flavor. Every dish exceeded my expectations, but the real surprise was the side of potatoes. I have never had potatoes like these; they were the crispiest and most flavorful I have ever tasted. Yum! Cute place right next to Union Station. Parking is a bit difficult to find a spot, but TH makes up for it. Adorable decor abounds TH. They went with the bee theme and committed, as one should. Brunch looked tasty but I went for a lunch menu item of grilled cheese and tomato soup- yum! The grilled cheese was well prepared with a couple of cheese thrown in the mix, all grilled to perfection on Texas toast. The tomato soup was divine. It was clearly homemade with added spices and bits of fresh tomatoes. In staying with the tomato theme, I also had a Bloody Mary- spiced up. It was very tasty. Our server was friendly. Went there for drinks on Valentines. The bar had 6 people at it. The barstools were cracked in the seats and the bar had not been wiped down. The bartenders were not engaging and I took a bit to get drinks. The martinis were watered down. At one point the bartender walks up and opens up the glass washer and says "I hate this place,there is broken glass in here." The back bar had bar towels and an open bag of Doritos on it. Located conveniently near the Union Station this restaurant had a lot to offer. My friend and I went in for brunch. The restaurant was quite busy but we were able to get a spot at the communal table right away. It's a gorgeous restaurant with a lot of space and beautifully decorated. For drinks, my friend got the Iced Dirty Chai and based on our server's recommendation, I got the Shaken Iced Matcha Latte. The Dirty Chai was delicious (a little on the sweeter side but still good). At first they gave me the wrong drink (coffee instead of the matcha) but when they brought me the right drink (Matcha Latte) I wished I had kept the coffee. The matcha drink was awful. Purely sugar and it kinda tasted like a soda? If you love matcha I would advise against this item. As for food, I ordered the Sriracha Honey Chicken & Waffles while my friend got the vegetarian version which was chicken replaced with Cauliflower. I loved my Sriracha Honey, it was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, the chicken was tender and the waffles were crispy on the outside. My friend thought her's was mid and could've used a bit more seasoning. This meal was a bit on the heavier side for me, 1,000 cals is a lot for brunch. read more

I had the chicken and waffles with a mimosa flight - the chicken brine is amazing, the breading not so much. I could use half the breading- there's also something sweet about the seasoning that I could also do without. The eggs (ordered on the side) were flavorful but scorched, the waffle was cooked well and had great flavor. The peach compote was awesome - not super sweet and a lil tart. The mimosa flight was good, could use a lil less syrup. My partner had the Asheville Melt and Old Fashioned flight- again could do with just half the breading on the chicken and the flight was an interesting dynamic of rye and bourbon tasting. I came here for a business lunch and would love to come again! I ordered the house salad and added grilled chicken. It was fantastic attic. I saw lots of dishes come out of the kitchen and they all looked really good. My colleague got the Cobb with fried chicken and that looked amazing. The service was great. There's a Tupelo Honey near my home that's been on my bucket list for years, so I was excited when I learned I'd be going to another location. We started with an order of the buttermilk biscuits (I had to order a second for the table because I failed to read the menu closely). The biscuits were tasty but on the crumbly side, so they were slightly difficult to eat. Although we had both the blueberry and peach jam, I opted for a drizzle of honey which paired well with the savory biscuit. For my entree, I ordered the sweet potato pancake with a side of soy sausage. The pancake was so, so good -- probably one of the best pancakes I've had in my life. Had I been eating it blindfolded, I wouldn't have been able to tell you it was the sweet potato variety. But it didn't matter. It was large (they weren't lying when they called it oversized!), sweet, fluffy with slightly crispy edges. The spiced pecans, powdered sugar and whipped butter elevated the dish to another level few pancakes can reach. The soy sausage was good. Obviously, it isn't the real deal. But I found the texture and seasoning to be very close to the pork sausage patties I used to eat before becoming a vegetarian. I liked the laid back atmosphere of the interior. There were multiple items on the menu that enticed me. Going to the one close to home is even more of a priority now. read more

My slightly dirty vodka martini was just right. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy off the Mile-High menu. It was lightly battered shrimp in a hoagie roll with shredded lettuce, tomato, and a remoulade sauce. It came with a choice of side, and I picked the crispy fries which were as advertised. My only issue with my food was that one of the shrimp was not deveined. I am sure it was just an oversight since the rest of the shrimp were fine. Came for brunch on a Tuesday, seated quickly, our server savanna was very nice, food was a bit of a wait but to expected when it's made fresh to order. I had the fried green tomatoes with goat cheese grits, wow to say the least. Tomatoes were fried perfectly and the grits were super creamy and the red aioli was tangy and paired perfectly. My wife got the sweet and spicy half chicken, came out pipping hot, sauce was delicious and chicken was crispy and juicy! Lastly the sweet potato pancake, not too sweet but didn't really taste like sweet potato more like spices you would find in a pie. Over all I would recommend coming here & giving a try! I grabbed a seat at the bar and the harried barman took my order of coffee and chicken and biscuits. The coffee was good (although I would have loved a refill) and the chicken and biscuits was great. It also came with some crispy bacon which was exceptional. Since I wasn't going to eat until much later that night, I had a small banana pudding which was also incredible. Where do I begin. Our first time eating there was a very good experience. My husband and I both ordered chicken and waffles and while we waited, we ordered the biscuits with blueberry jam. I really hope that's true. The Bloody Mary was out of this world! The pickled veges in it were delicious. It was so large, my husband couldn't finish it. When our chicken and waffles arrived, we chowed down on them. Although the dish is very good, I will say that the chicken had a little too much batter and not enough meat esp for its price point. However, when I mentioned it to the manager, he brought another piece. I believe they serve strips and not a breast or thighs. The combination of the spicy Bloody Mary and spicy chicken was a little too much for my husband's pallet, though he enjoyed both. The jam is available for purchase so I took a jar home. On our next visit, I ordered the fried chicken and potatoes and my husband ordered the tomato soup and pancakes and bacon. Both were okay although I would not write home about them or get it again. I didn't like the texture of the pancake and the fried chicken was more suitable for another pallet. He said the tomato soup was absolutely delicious! The manager remembered us from our first visit and he stopped by and chatted. We ended up getting a delicious dessert to go on the house. It was very good too. The restaurant is very nice and they have great artwork hanging by a local artist. You need a key to get into the bathrooms. I love a bathroom that has a foot door opener esp when hand towels are not provided like in this one. However, the foot door opener is pointless bc you have to turn the door knob to get out, I assume due to the lock. Defeats the whole purpose.
