Everything on the menu looked good and the space itself seemed fun. We decided on the gumbo (extremely flavorful), I had a hurricane which was good, and jambalaya (wish it had a little more sausage). My wife had a ch sandwich which she enjoyed. Overall the food is very good, the service was excellent, portions are strong at a fair price point. The food was good! nice portions size, I had softshell poboy with sweet potato fries and side of okra. The service was mediocre. It was cold outside but the wind kept cutting in anytime someone entered. I wish the heat was on but again the food was good and worth it on that behalf. I will also say outside of the servers obtaining tips I didn't like that the kitchen received such a small amount as shown. This restaurant wouldn't survive without the cooks! Come on yall! Nola Jane truly hit the spot when needing a Cajun/creole fix! I grew up going to New Orleans multiple times a year to visit family, so from time to time I just need those comforting flavors. I, of course, needed to get my shrimp po boy while my husband needed his crawfish étouffée. My po boy was just what I needed and I of course had to sample my husband's crawfish étouffée which was perfectly spiced. I came in on a Monday around 2pm and it was pretty empty and I just wanted a small snack while I waited for my friend. I got a cup of gumbo and it was super flavorful and had a little kick. It was nice and hot and honestly some of the best gumbo I've had. The server was friendly and came over a couple times to check on me. What a fantastic restaurant. Nola Jane where have you been? Such great service from the second I walked in. It was just after an avalanche game and I didn't particularly plan nor did we call ahead. A fitting stop for my wife and my honeymoon trip due to the fact our first major vacation outside of family visiting was to the great old NOLA. I always have an appreciation for places outside of their that do their take on Cajun food. We walked in and grabbed two bar seats and were greeted by the friendly bartender who brought us water and menu was through a QR code. No drinks for us during this night but I am sure they do some tasty cocktails and may be a reason to return. Besides bar they have some higher tops and some low tops available as well. If you have experienced the food scene of NOLA you know it has so many word class spots and such a rich history as well. Truly such a renowned cuisine I am not sure places outside of the area for the most part can live up to the same quality. This was a solid attempt, my wife got a fried chicken sandwich and I got a fried catfish poboy with some collard greens! My wife enjoyed the chicken but wished it was a little more crispy. The catfish was good as well but there is just something special about a poboy in actual NOLA! I will say though despite that if you are in the Denver area and have a craving for Cajun food this seems to be the top notch spot. The reason for a 4 rating and not a 5 is my catfish po boy , not gonna lie it was good but I feel like my catfish could have been a bit meatier 8.3/10 , red beans and rice 8/10 and that corn bread 9.2/10 ,French fries when they are hot 8.7/10 do not let them get cold and try to eat them again later unless you got a fryer of some sort . The wife had Jambalaya I didn't taste it cause I was crazy full but she loved it 8.6/10 per her taste buds . This was a quick pick for our late lunch while in Denver. It wasn't on our radar but it popped up while we were out and about. My friend suggested it and I let her pick. I wasn't overly excited about it but it turned out to be a fantastic meal. The service was awesome. Friendly, prompt (not too prompt if you know what I mean) and helpful with making our choices. The food here is always so good. From the gumbo to the jambalaya to the etouffee. I've only grabbed drinks from here once and they were great. However, speaking of drinks, I have to give it a -1 star for being a Louisiana restaurant and not having sweet tea. First time dining here with my husband as we were in town on a business trip. Food: 10/10 in taste. Louisiana/ Cajun inspired dishes. Red beans and rice didn't have the best aesthetic, but they were good in taste. My husband and I ordered a cup of gumbo to share just so we could taste it and we found it to be very rich in flavor. We both ordered catfish and rice as our main entrees. Husband ordered his catfish blackened (which was a slight up-charge) with white rice and a side of mac and cheese. I chose to order my catfish grilled on a bed of dirty rice. Service: Could be improved. We dined here on a Saturday night in August. We were asked at the door if we wanted to sit downstairs or go up to the rooftop area and we chose the rooftop. Upstairs there is a rooftop bar, a front end outdoor seating area where you can see the street and people watch, or you can sit in the back patio area where there is outdoor furniture more for lounging. Like other people who had never dined here, we didn't notice that we had to order at the bar with the bar tender, so we sat a while waiting before we noticed. My husband asked the bartender for cups of water and she yelled 'it's over there' and pointed to a water cooler with a spout that had plastic cups next to it. There was only one bartender working that night and there were a couple of tables/outdoor seating areas occupied, so imagine the slight rush when we all wanted to pay for our food at the same time. Value: Expect to pay $20-$30 per person. They also serve craft cocktails, but we didn't order any. My husband ordered one glass of wine for himself which was $10. I felt like there was an upcharge for a lot of things (example: we ordered catfish plates at the rate of $17 but blackened catfish is $1 extra and dirty rice is $2 extra). I didn't see a mention in the menu of there also being a 'kitchen appreciation fee.' It may be there but I didn't see it so just be mindful of that. Ambiance: establishment is pretty big in size. Downstairs area was playing pop music and the rooftop area seemed to play R&B or rap music that night. String lighting on the rooftop and some artwork aligning the walls.
