We weren't crazy hungry so we came to Tupelo Honey for a few appetizers on NYE. It was still early but they had a 2 hour wait, so we sat at the bar. We decided on the Biscuits for a Cause, Crispy Brussels, and Famous Fried Green Tomatoes. The biscuits are HUGE - so big we probably could have only ordered one other appetizer because they were so filling. I enjoyed the whipped butter and blueberry jam spread, but I think it would be better if the jam was blended a little more. There were several full blueberries in the jam, which made it difficult to scoop onto the knife and then spread evenly on the biscuits. The Crispy Brussels had great flavor. I only had a couple of bites of the Fried Green Tomatoes, but my husband said they weren't his favorite. He thought the breading was too thick and wasn't crazy about the red pepper sauce. read more

Came here with family on a Friday around 1:30. Really wanted to try their rosemary potato cracklins and was also here to try the highly praised blueberry jam...... They were out of both!! On a Friday afternoon? How could that be ?? Bad planning IMHO. Had to settle for the biscuits, gravy, and fried chicken. The biscuits were cooked fresh to order and the gravy was good, but not great. Could have used a little more flavor/spice. The fried chicken was also good, but not great like Hattie B's. read more

The service here is wonderful so you'll love the food all the more And spaced apart, mask wearing- we felt very safe If you visit during happy hour, there are some great deals on some of their best menu items: cauli/peppers tacos, potato cracklins, & the Tupelo cocktail (like a grapefruit margarita) We also had the burger, pecan/beet salad and biscuits. Everything was great. Easy parking at this location as well. They take reservations, which I'd recommend at all times while capacity is limited. We came at 4:15 Friday with a 4:30 rez .. didn't need it but it started to get busier before we left. read more

Stay away. I was by there with some friends for a get together, I had eaten there several years back and was not impressed. I thought if I got chicken tenders/onion rings that would be a safe bet for an OK meal. What a disappointment. The tenders were very dry and burned on the outside with no flavor, the onion rings looked and tasted as if they were 3 days old. Never again. read more

Food was pretty good, but the service was slow. Food took around 45 mins " I know they were busy" so can't complain too much. Prices were decent too. Came by here for dinner after getting into town due to the great recommendations here on Yelp. It's just on the corner of a little strip mall type area, nothing to look at, but everyone was really conscientious about wearing masks, spacing out guests, and feeling safe. Plus, it was gorgeous to sit outside and enjoy the evening, so it was really a nice win all around. I had a burger topped with pimento cheese, and my parents were both excited to try the fried chicken sandwiches. Absolutely delicious all around, five stars! My father was so excited that he claimed he wanted to come back here for breakfast (or brunch) again before we left. So we did. This time was a total let down. The French toast was just okay. The half and half sandwich and salad, upgraded for beet salad, was fine, but it wasn't bowl me over fantastic, just run of the mill lunch food. Overall, I'll give them the four stars because they were both solid, all around meals, but I would've preferred if that breakfast/brunch brought it as hard core as the dinner did. read more

Passing thru TN and had to make a stop at Tupelo Honey. It was pretty close to our hotel and I heard they were going to be putting one in my hometown so even more reason to go. I made a reservation online, although we would have been fine to just walk in. The bar area looked cute and it had high top tables but we sat in the main areas which had plenty of seating and they were low tops. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We started with the fried pickles, they were so good! Thin slices of pickle with nice crispy breading and ranch for dipping sauce. For my entree I had the sriracha honey chicken and waffles and the Hubs had the cast iron pork. Both were excellent. The sauce on the chicken was so flavorful and not too spicy, the waffle was light and fluffy but could have been crisper (that's just my preference). The cast iron pork was delicious as well. At first glance it didn't look like a lot but it fell apart and ended up being a nice portion. The Mac and cheese was also good and the goat cheese grits were an amazing burst of umami. I love grits, I love cheesy grits, but it was my first time having grits with goat cheese and I have to say it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. We took dessert to go but went with the mini duo so that we could taste both the banana pudding and pecan pie. I enjoyed both but pecan pie is always too sweet for me and this was no different. The crust was nice and flaky and the pie was very rich. The banana pudding was so soo good. It had actual slices of banana and it reminded me of home. Honestly this is a great restaurant choice and I'm so excited for the location coming to my hometown. Also I'm obsessed with the glasses here! read more

Good spot. Chicken and waffles were good as was the old Skool scramble. Very tasty and service was top notch. Our party of 4 was delighted. The food took some time to arrive at 11:15 brunch. The biscuits were great but be sure to ask for more blueberry butter. read more

Lunch was a great deal and absolutely delicious. I had the fried green tomato sandwich with a side salad and Mac n cheese. Everything was full of flavor. The salad dressing was made in house and extra creamy. Don't forget to order the pickle chips - they are crunchy and come with a side of their ranch! They get extra points from me for the fun glassware. We checked in on Yelp and got a free slice of pecan pie. The pie was one of the best I've had in a while. We really liked all of our food from Tupelo Honey in Franklin! They have an expansive appetizer menu, packed with tasty bites! We had the spicy cauliflower bites that were crispy and bursting with flavor. We also had the fried green tomatoes, served with goat cheese grits. Breading was great and tomatoes were big. I don't even like grits, but these were rich and creamy. We also had the biscuits, which flakes apart easily and were not dry. They also had a richness, an almost savoriness, to them, and we liked them a lot. They had a ton of other appetizers that looked delicious, including spicy cauliflower tacos and pimento cheese dip. I'll definitely try them next time around. For the entree, I had the bourbon peppercorn glazed meatloaf, made with beef and chorizo. It was moist and mouthwateringly good! It came with two sides--I chose the baked Mac n cheese and the potato cracklins, which is a like a smashed baked potato fried. The sides were a little cold, but still tasted great. Maybe just a timing issue with the sides being done before my main course. They do have lighter fare--my husband had the mountain harvest bowl, packed with sweet potatoes, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, rice, pecans, mixed greens, and avocado. He loved it. For desert, we got a mini desert flight that had small portions of their flagship deserts--perfect portion for an end of meal sweet tooth. There was a tasty banana pudding, a type of pie, and a chocolate dish with pretzels. All were great! I did have the margarita and their version of the Paloma, both made with in house liquors. They were ok, the food was much better. Service was good. COVID measures were in place, which we appreciate. There were so many other dishes--chicken, salmon, catfish, and more. We would definitely eat here again. read more

Went to Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar for Sunday brunch. It was nice to be able to be seated right away. Location had good parking, lots of space inside and very clean. I ordered the 1/2 fried chicken with collard green. I thought about the salmon with grit but the grits were cooked with goat cheese (not a fan of goat cheese). However, my wife did have the goat cheese grits and I had a taste of them and they were pretty good and did not have that string goat cheese taste. The wait was a bit long but our server, Nicholas did a great job of communicating to us concerning the wait, but overall, he was very knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful. My food was hot when it came out and close to good; both the chicken and collards had a little to much salt. I compensated this my using spicy/sweet hot sauce on the chicken which improved the taste. Definitely a place that we would come to again. read more

The ambience of this place is quite weird. It's almost like a Cracker Barrel but nicer. Definitely a southern vibe. Mac & cheese missed mark Brussels sprouts - five stars Milo - juice too sweet & salty. Definitely missing something Yeah the fried chicken was amazing. That's literally the only thing I would ever order again. Oh and the biscuits. And the fries. He really why 3 2 stars though...The service was HORRIBLE. At one point after they dropped our food, we didn't see a server again until they dropped the check. It was quite odd. No checking on us if everything was OK, not asking if we needed more sauces or utensils or drinks... Nothing. After confronting the manager, his excuse was that they were short staffed, but there were like four people in the front of the restaurant, sweeping floors and washing the counters, etc. quite a weird experience. read more

Brunch anyone? From the food options to the drinks, my experience was fantastic! Although my party included a vegan and vegetarian, everyone loved their options, and had a great time. My second time here I got the honey dusted fried chicken. So delicious. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The sriracha honey was also delicious. I love the added flavour the cilantro brings. For appetizer, I got the biscuits for a cause. Delicious also. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing . Instagrammable for the instagrammers lol. We were in Franklin and found this place and could be happier. The service was top notch but not too needy. The fried pickles are perfectly thin and crunchy. We had chicken and Mac and cheese waffles, vegetable bowl and a chicken sandwich. The food is solid and well done. We were able to get a seat within 30 minutes without a reservation in the lunch rush. It's a nice and clean place and the people are friendly read more

Solid 4 experience - flavor was a 5 tho! Fast and friendly service. $3 Mimosas and Bloody Mary's got us in the door - that and this had been in my must eat list for a while. Very flavorful- the jam was blueberry (allergic) so no report back there! The biscuit were good the honey was fantastic! The Southern Shakshuka was VERY tasty, the flavor was very memorable. My biggest complaint is it needed a crunch of some kind. I had a few fries for taste testing purposes very nicely done! And the Southern Chicken BLT was also layered with flavors. I was excited to finally try this place after not being able to get into the one in Chattanooga. We had a reservation and got there about 25 minutes early to see if we could get in sooner. They told us they couldn't seat us until closer to our reservation which is fine so we sat and waited. However a walk in the same size as us came in and they were going to sit then right away until someone in our party said something. They then sat us and then sat them directly after (15 minutes before or reservation time). Then to top it off the food was lacking. The chicken was dry and the waffles were dense. At this moment I'm not even sure if I want to try the new one that's suppose to open near us this fall. We contacted the email they said to when they responded to our review and they didn't reply to us. It's been over 2 weeks since I reached out to them. read more

Wonderful addition to the Franklin/Cool Springs dining options! I love a place where you can go have a nice relaxing drink at the bar before/after dinner or while you wait for your table. The bar staff is super friendly and helpful...and very attentive. The tap beer options are many and great! You can sit at the bar or choose a table in the bar area. The jury is out on the Hostess stand; sometimes they are on top of things and very friendly, and other times they seem a little overwhelmed and distracted, They DO have a big job trying to accommodate a huge crowd of people, but still.... Not a deal breaker by any means; just an observation. I'm sure they will get the kinks worked out. Their menu is both simple and fun, with an eclectic flair; makes you want to read it in entirety. After the server takes your drink order, they bring you a delicious, warm biscuit with a side of blueberry jam and a tub of honey. Superb! I am a vegetarian and it can be challenging to find a restaurant that has more to offer me than just a salad and a side of vegetables, Tupelo Honey has an AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS black bean burger. It comes with a dairy-based aioli sauce, so if you are vegan, be sure to ask them to omit that. There are several side items to choose from, which is nice if you are looking for a healthy alternative to french fries (although their fries are pretty good!). They serve Hunts catsup, and that's a downer for me; I'm a Heinz girl, but I'll survive. I also adore the County Fair Avocado; it is deep fried. Enough said, On my first visit there, Josh was our server. He looked like a young version of a rat-pack member with his perfect hair, and he had the perfect personality to go along with it. Super friendly and very attentive. My second visit, although another great experience, was met with a female server who seemed more annoyed with having to wait on us than she was happy to serve. But everyone has their bad days, so I'm not judging. My third visit made up for the prior disappointment, with a different server and a fantastic attitude. As a side note....They say that it is the little things that count, so I give Tupelo Honey kudos for the little, individually-wrapped chocolate mints at the hostess stand; love them! A HUGE plus to this restaurant, other than the awesome food and fantastic service, is that you can make a reservation on their website; even if you only have two in your party. If you don't like waiting, then I strongly recommend that you take advantage of the online reservation option; the restaurant is very popular and there is usually a wait (which is a sign of a great restaurant!). I don't utilize the reservation option, because I find it very fun and relaxing to sit in the bar area while we wait for a table. Their website is extremely user friendly and provides ALL the information you need to gain knowledge about this wonderful restaurant. Sarah was excellent and the only reason our visit did not completely fall apart. She was professional, attentive, and respectful, and she deserves to be recognized for how she handled our group. The manager, Natalie, on the other hand, demonstrated behavior that was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. She was openly rude, dismissive, and handled food and drinks in an aggressive manner--throwing items down and slamming drinks in front of customers. Her tone and body language made it clear she did not want to be there, and it created a hostile and uncomfortable environment for everyone in our group. This is especially concerning because this behavior is coming from a manager. Leadership sets the tone, and in this case, the tone was disrespectful and unwelcoming. This is not a minor issue--it reflects poorly on your entire operation. This situation warrants immediate attention and accountability. No customer should be treated this way, especially by someone in a management role. If this is not addressed, it will continue to damage your business and drive customers away. read more

The honey dusted chicken and waffles were great. My husband had a skillet and was not impressed. Another in our party had the hot chicken and liked it. Another had a bowl and said it was good. Also ordered was a ginger and turmeric tonic. It was hard to tell there was any ginger in the drink. Biscuit with blueberry compote was heavenly. The reason for 3 stars was the slooooow delivery of our meals. We were told the kitchen was backed up. We waited at least 20 minutes from the time we ordered until our meals came. Did someone not show up for work, understaffed for another reason. This was on a Sunday for brunch which is a busy time. Our server kept informing us that the orders were being worked on. I would be willing to try another location since there are restaurants in many places. Also, we paid via the QR code on the receipt. This is our preferred way of paying. Well, it didn't work. The restaurant was able to track us down through the person who made the reservation. Seems like iT has some work to do. read more

After church, we sought a delightful brunch spot with visiting friends, and we found just that at, Tupelo Honey. The homemade biscuits were a must-try, especially paired with the delightful jam compote and honey. We enjoyed them so much we ordered two batches! The coffee was another highlight, definitely something I'd reorder. Our server was not only responsive but energetically attentive, setting a lively tone for our brunch gathering. The ambiance was light and perfect, enhancing our time together with friends. I opted for the shrimp and grits, which transported me back to the streets of Louisiana, reminiscent of family-owned hole-in-the-wall spots I adore. We took several of our employees from Universal Music and an outside marketing company there last night. They accommodated our party perfectly, checking with me on several occasions before the evening to make sure we had all we needed. We all had food, drinks and dessert. Everything was fantastic and the environment was great. Everyone had an awesome time. Sam was our waiter and couldn't have been anymore professional and helpful. We all absolutely loved the cauliflower! The okra was good, but not as amazing as the cauliflower. Entrees chosen were honey-dusted fried chicken, breakfast bowl and avocado toast and a side of creamy tomato soup. All were DELICIOUS! The only hiccup was a one-piece side of chicken ordered. First time visit with the family and my parents. Wanted to try something different. We tried apps and several entrees and the food was very good. Our only issue was service was poor and we were there early in the evening and the restaurant was half empty. Slow on refills and took multiple requests to even get water. We had to stack our own dishes because they were not clearing the table after the appetizers were finished. Just made for an uncomfortable and long evening when you have 3 kids along. This ever growing community of Nashville has made eating out on the weekends a bit of a gamble between the wait times, the quality service and comfortable atmospheres, yet Tupelo Honey nailed all three Denise was our server and she was so kind and attentive in both detail and hospitality. My daughter and I came here for brunch on a Sunday. We were seated right away and met our server, Zac. He was so sweet and so helpful. I love to be able to talk and cut up with servers and he was such fun person! He recommended some fabulous meals and very attentive. The food was excellent, I had the Banana Pancakes and they were HUGE. I wasn't able to finish them all but I took them home to enjoy another time. We will definitely be back for the food. It was my first visit here, but everything is just quality! I got the fried pickles appetizer, honey dusted fried chicken entree, and mini mason jars for dessert. The chicken was done perfect, juicy and super tasty. Dessert was rich and amazing, definitely don't need a huge portion. A nice southern menu with an upscale twist to it. Our server, Denise, was outstanding as well. She was so kind, and on top of her stuff. She took care of what we needed before we realized we needed it. I have been here for business lunches a couple of times and finally got a chance to go for brunch for my birthday. My only complaint is that I have a hard time deciding what to order! Recently diagnosed with hosimotio's and on AIP diet. Tupelo Honey is one of the few restaurants that are AIP/paleo friendly. Oh yes, yum, doesn't begin to describe the taste. I had the beet salad, and my friend has a sweet potato bowl. Both were amazing. Now the service: Our waiter, Lawson, was very knowledgeable about items on the menu. Came here with my family a little while ago after hearing from some friends in the area that it was the place to go. I told our server Bekah to just surprise me with my dinner. She asked me for a few likes and dislikes, I ended up with their signature fried chicken with a side of potato hash browns and the best grits I've ever had. Drinks were refilled the entire night and everybody was over the moon with their food. We will be back for sure, great service and amazing food. read more

Extremely delicious food. OG Brett was our server, he was super great! Had the smokehouse bbq burger and the hot chicken dip. Was both really great and would recommend for sure! Everything inside was awesome looking as well, bees and honeycombs decorating in surprising areas, gotta love it! Don't knock the sweet potato pancakes till you try them either. They were great! We've had consistently good food when visiting. They, like all restaurants in the area, occasionally struggle with staffing once kids return to college in the fall. I'm not sure I can hold that against them as it's a universal issue. They do a good job of seating only the number of tables they can serve during these times, so that helps a lot. Overall very happy with the quality of the food and speed of orders. Hope they are here for years to come. read more

Greeted upon entrance, there was a wait for the table so we decided to sit at the bar. Chris was so helpful and friendly that we decided to stay at the bar for dinner. He explained the the menu choices to us with great detail as the restaurant is a little different then what we are used to. He asked what brought us here and helped us decide some things to do while we were in town. Would visit the restaurant again on our next visit to Nashville. read more

Went for dinner and got the honey bee dusted fried chicken. The menu says 1/2 chicken with their famous honey bee dust. They should rename it the 4 piece combo. It's just 4 pieces of fried chicken, which is indeed half a chicken but the quality of the chicken was poor at best. Flavorless and lukewarm. Places with better fried chicken. The atmosphere is nice--dim lighting and an open kitchen. The staff helps each other out, so our glasses never ran dry and we didn't have to ask for anything. I got the Steak Maui--a marinated ribeye with pineapple teriyaki--and it came with mashed potatoes that were really good too. My daughter and I shared the house salad with their vinaigrette dressing, which we both liked. My husband and daughter both ordered the New York Strip and were happy with their meals as well.

The biscuits were soft, pillowy, perfection. I imagine the closest Italian equivalent would be someone's Nonna's centuries-old secret gnocchi recipe. We scarfed everything down while stealing glances at each other which wordlessly spoke, "Where are we? Is this where Waffle House got its inspiration? Wait staff seemed to be missing completely. Some thoughts I had were "well there has to be wait staff because all these people have their food" but still I waited. There's a reason why its called BIG BAD BREAKFAST: BIG because they don't skimp on quality or portions. Bad as I probably eat too much because it's so good! Don't forget to sign up for reward points online. Write your phone # on receipts before paying with cash or check to earn the rewards. It's so worth it!
