Tupelo Honey has an incredible brunch menu. I could not recommend their chicken and waffles highly enough. The environment is also wonderful. The restaurant is very lively and fun, even in the mornings! The chefs at this place definitely know what they are doing and I have never ordered anything that was less than a 10/10. They are truly creating culinary masterpieces! The service is also always wonderful. The servers are incredibly helpful and know their way around the menu. read more

Yummy the fried green tomatoes deliciously crunchy and juicy! The biscuits are the best we have had out here in Middle TN taste between a buttery fluffy biscuit and a semi sweet cornbread the jam and butter was heaven on those biscuits! I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and although the grits with the chorizo was tasty the shrimp was not it needs seasoning and grilling the shrimp would help elevate the dish. My hubby had the chicken and waffles said it had a good combination of sweet and savory plus spice but waffles was a little soggy he likes his more crispy. The service was great! We will definitely be returning to try the other items on the menu! read more

I came over to this location when I saw 4.5 stars review in google maps . I ordered the fried chicken plate with gravy. I was disappointed with this option. The chicken was burnt and dry. The mac and cheese were decent. The best thing was the biscuits with the homemade blueberry jam. The biscuits were amazing Delicious with a Capital D.... Jay enjoyed his Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and Gab said his Tupola Shrimp Grits was decent. read more

We had the pleasure of dining at Tupelo Honey for brunch. We had reservations and were seated right away. There were about 9 in our party and initially we figured that there would be a delay with service. However, our server (Asia) was great! She was very thorough, polite and offered quite a few suggestions. She did an amazing job handling our group. I ordered the Sriracha Honey Chicken & Waffles and Brussels Sprouts...The chicken and waffles were a little on the spicy side, but that was to be expected. They were soooo good!! The brussels sprouts were perfect as well. We ordered mimosas and signed up for emails on their site where we were able to claim a free glass. Everyone appeared to be pleased with their selections as well as the service. I highly recommend!! read more

Fabulous service by Gillian. Love that the servers get to rock their own looks and aren't nailed to a corporate uniform. Enjoyed the Argentinian Malbec with fried pickles, shrimp and grits, half fried chicken with fries, and the Yelp Check-In dessert (half banana pudding and half pecan pie). First time visiting and I must say, everything was wonderful! The mimosas were tasty, and so was the food. We had a party of 10, and everyone was able to be seated comfortably. We made a reservation at Tupelo Honey tonight to see some family before they move out of town! We absolutely love Tupelo, but have only had a couple chances to go. I got The Debutante to drink. This was a little over $10, but so worth it! It was a mixed drink with their signature lavender lemonade with vodka! So refreshing and tasty! We started with some of their Biscuits for a Cause! These massive fluffy biscuits come with whipped butter and blueberry jam. They are so good! For dinner, I got the Sweet & Spicy Chicken Sandwich with their Parmesan and Rosemary Potato Cracklins! This was around $15! The sandwich was smothered in sriracha honey and was much spicier than I thought it would be, but still delicious. My husband got the Farm Fresh Burger with Mac and Cheese. That was delish as well! Ended our dinner with free dessert! When checking in on Yelp, we got a free dessert that we could claim! Another Yelper at the table did the same, so I got the Banana Pudding and he got the Pecan Pie for the whole table to split. The Banana Pudding was one of the best I have ever had!! Came for lunch without reservation, seated next to the window. The place is quite full around noon, but not crowded. The sandwich combo is delicious, the broccoli on the harvest bowl is quite bland and not very tender. The waitress is friendly and helpful. The food took a little longer to come out. read more

I had never heard of this spot and did not know what to expect when my co worker suggested that we go. I thought it would be southern food ( which it was), but with a twist! I truly enjoyed my experience here. We started out with the fried green tomatoes. They were so good. They were served on a bed of goat cheese grits and marinara sauce. I would have never thought that this combination together would be good, but it was. The tomatoes were fried to perfection. For my meal, I have the buffalo cauliflower. I heard of many people having these as replacements for hot wings. That was my goal until I decided I wanted some actually hot wings (yeah that lil healthy food went right out of the door)! The cauliflower wings were delicious. They had just the right amount of crisp and sauce. If I would've known that they give a generous helping I would have only gotten them. However, I don't regret getting the wings. I planned on taking them to eat for later, but it happened again...the healthy eating thing went right out of the window, ha! I love the complimentary homemade biscuits that they have waiting hot and fresh served with molasses and home made jam. I am hoping for the day Memphis gets one. Until then, I think I will take a 3 hour drive just for fun to visit with my family. Great food, great service, give it a try! read more

I was visiting Franklin, TN from out of state for a wedding, and came across Tupelo Honey on Yelp. The menu immediately came off as unique with a Southern twist and, just as important, affordable. While we waited around 20 minutes for our table, outside the restaurant was a little play area where you could play corn hole and ring toss. That's exactly what we did, I thought that was a great touch! Once we sat down, I immediately checked in on Yelp. I was really surprised to find out that I received a free dessert because of it! You get to decide between the banana pudding, the pecan pie, or mini versions of both! I REALLY enjoyed the banana pudding. The butter pecan pie was a bit chewy and hard to scoop out of the bowl it was in. Just noticed I'm doing this review backwards, my bad... While we were checking out their menu, I peaked at their Bloody Mary variations, and I had to try a Bloody Maria. What was different about this is that instead of vodka, it was tequila. I thought it tasted great, and packed a punch. Came with bacon! We ordered the fried pickles which were amazing! They were lightly fried, so you could actually still taste the pickle! Honestly one of the best fried pickles I've had. I ate here a week ago and still think about these fried pickles sometimes. I had a hard time deciding on the main course because of all the choices I wanted to try, but I leaned towards with Cast Iron Pork. I got to decide on my 2 sides, so I picked thee really crispy Brussels and the potato cracklins (first time having these actually, had to ask what they were, pretty much potato skins). This dish was really tasty, especially the sides, but I wish I went the chicken route instead. My girlfriend had a chicken sandwich and I got a bite, and it was delish! Really happy we came here, definitely recommend especially if you're out of town and want to try something new! read more

The old school grit bowl was the most delicious all day breakfast item I have tasted in years! It's my new favorite but everything here is worth trying! Covid safely and protocols are in place! The restaurant seating is spaced out; customer service is excellent and timely! Prices are competitive.... This place is a must try if you live in or travel to or around Franklin, TN! I can't stop raving about the bowl but the turmeric and ginger tonic was a nice and spicy non alcoholic beverage.... Very refreshing against the bowl's bold flavors! read more

I love this place. TIP- get a reservation on Open Table or you won't get a seat. I got reservations the morning of for 12:30 on a Sunday no problem. Chicken and waffles with added blueberry compote is the best. All the food is good though- you can't go wrong. read more

We came at an awkward time, 3:30. Dead time for a restaurant where it's hard for the server to either be too attentive or not attentive at all lol. Ours was VERY attentive. We ordered and shared the meatloaf with grits and Mac and cheese. Meatloaf was super good. Almost teriyaki like in taste but I duuuug. Neither of us is a true grits fan but tried it anyway and still not fans lol. Husband though the Mac was ok but I wasn't a fan at all. It was like melted cheese on dry noodles. One bite and it wasn't worth it to continue. For dessert, we got mini bread pudding and mini pecan pie. Both were good, but the pecan came with a chocolate sauce that I preferred without. read more

Everything was amazing here. We chose this restaurant based on reviews and are so happy we did. The menu has so many options that's its hard to choose. The Brussel sproutes were crispy and rhe dipping sauce was a nice additon. The biscuits and jam was divine. I selected the shoo mercy but customized it with blueberry Pancakes. I also had the Southern Hospitality mimosa. My food was sooooo good. Very well seasoned and it was a large portion that I had some left over. Prices were very reasonable. Tupelo Honey has a wide and delicious menu full of divine dishes made to order. As a Tennessean, I can confirm that this is some of the most delicious and authentic Southern food you'll ever have. It's a great restaurant with a charming country feel, but it's very expensive and the service can sometimes take a while. We made a reservation through OpenTable but arrived much earlier than we expected on a Wednesday evening. We were offered a table right away and the hostess mentioned that it would start to get busy by 6:00 pm. She was right as the restaurant was full with a wait by the time we left. The restaurant had plenty of parking. Our group started with the Brussels sprouts and the fried pickles. Both were delicious. For dinner, two of us ordered the shrimp and grits and the other the beef debris. We all enjoyed the food. The chorizo in the shrimp and grits is mild and not the traditional Mexican variety, but tasty. My friends ended with the banana pudding and loved it. read more

Best lunch spot in Franklin. Ambiance and decor: A+ Food: A Service: A Definitely some gourmet chefs in the back of the house. The type of place where I order something different every time because every dish has been solid. Smothered Fried Chicken is my favorite so far, with brussels and grits. From the moment we walked in just 10 minutes before closing. the manager Madi was the 1st with her hospitality & allowing us to order dinner so close to closing time. she was so warm & welcoming & our server Heather was helping us with the menu, i had the chicken & waffles with mac & cheese in the middle...omg! it was delicious! their sweet tea was purrrfect! everything was so delicious that the next day we went back again! thats when we met another server Dalton. talk about knowledgeable with the dishes & remembering everything for all three of us!! we literally had so many choices for meals in nashville & franklin & we chose to come back to the tupelo honey cafe everyday! we met the GM Fami on the last day & shared with him our experiences & then we realized why his restaurant & the people & the food was so good!! One of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. Their brussel sprouts were okay, but their fried pickles were delicious and crispy. Also, the banana pudding was soooo good and their sweet tea was one of the best I've ever had. Our server Aspen was very attentive, really sweet and went above and beyond. Well, I came for gumbo but they don't have it anymore, I had their fried chicken....omg! Very very tasty, brined first which held the juices and flavor nicely, had the tortilla soup, damn! Also had the rosemary potatoes, they had a light crisp to them and I'd come back for those alone...im a fair evaluator but this place is a come back to spot for sure! IMHO read more

They offered a $55 couple's deal with an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. They did not have silverware on the table and I had to go to another one and get some. The waitress never brought our drinks and when we asked her about it, she said they lost the ticket and had to ask again what we ordered. Someone besides our waitress had to bring our food out. This place is supposed to be known for their chicken. But they were out of chicken. Crazy. The steak was room temperature. They never even brought our appetizer. Pretty much a train wreck all around. read more

I fell in love with Tupelo at their location in Greenville, SC, so when I moved to Tennessee, this location was a must-try for me, and it did not disappoint. It's just as cozy, charming, and Southern hospitable as the one I knew, and they still have my absolute favorite biscuits (biscuits being the primary source of my TN weight gain). Their Fried Green Tomatoes are unmatched, and all the rest of their fare is delicious. I've tried half the menu and there is nothing I wouldn't recommend. read more

Went here recently with some friends for dinner and cocktails and it was great! The food was delish and our server, Asia was amazing! She kept our larger group happy and she was pretty funny too! It's a counter service joint; you walk up, order, and then someone runs the food to your table. First off, they asked for a point of service tip; that bugs me when I'm ordering my own food at the counter and fetching my own drinks. The menu is fairly standard for a southern BBA joint; brisket, pulled pork, ribs, turkey, chicken. I am generally suspicious of any place that offers chopped brisket. Brisket is meant to be sliced and enjoyed as a slab of meat, not as a pile of hash. So, the chopped brisket sandwich was out for me. I asked if the brisket platter would be served as slices, and they assured me it was, so I ordered brisket with two sides. They recommended the beans and the Mac 'n cheese, so that's what I went with. They also asked me if I wanted the meat lean, marbled, or half and half; I took that as a good sign, and asked for marbled. They food came out in about 5 mins; just enough time for me to head to the soda fountain and fill my own cup. Maybe they should tip me? On the plus side, the portions were pretty large. I'm guessing that the served at least 6-8 ounces of brisket, and the individual sides were pretty large as well. On the other hand, whoever sliced the brisket simply didn't know what they were doing. They sliced it WITH the grain, producing slices full of stringy meat. Stringy meat that was hard to cut with the plastic cutlery provided. I find it hard to believe that anyone who regularly serves BBQ brisket doesn't know to cut the meat against the grain. The meat appeared to feature a nice bark; however, on further exploration, a) the bark was so tough that it couldn't be cut as all with the plastic cutlery, and b) when I tore into it with my fingers and ate a piece, it had no taste. Not even a basic Texas salt and pepper rub could be detected. A large portion of tasteless, poorly cut meat does no one any favors. The beans were a little underdone; IMHO, that's far better than mushy, overcooked beans. However, they, too, had no flavor. No spice, nada. The mac and cheese was shells in a white cheese sauce. Strike 3; zero flavor for the sauce. I don't know how you can make cheese sauce without flavor, but they managed to do so. I have never, ever thrown as much food away at a a BBQ joint than I did today. What a shame. Not recommended, not even a little bit. Try Martin's or Edley's; if you prefer a chain, Mission BBQ will do you much better than Hogwood.

Wonderful addition to the Franklin/Cool Springs dining options! I love a place where you can go have a nice relaxing drink at the bar before/after dinner or while you wait for your table. The bar staff is super friendly and helpful...and very attentive. The tap beer options are many and great! You can sit at the bar or choose a table in the bar area. The jury is out on the Hostess stand; sometimes they are on top of things and very friendly, and other times they seem a little overwhelmed and distracted, They DO have a big job trying to accommodate a huge crowd of people, but still.... Not a deal breaker by any means; just an observation. I'm sure they will get the kinks worked out. Their menu is both simple and fun, with an eclectic flair; makes you want to read it in entirety. After the server takes your drink order, they bring you a delicious, warm biscuit with a side of blueberry jam and a tub of honey. Superb! I am a vegetarian and it can be challenging to find a restaurant that has more to offer me than just a salad and a side of vegetables, Tupelo Honey has an AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS black bean burger. It comes with a dairy-based aioli sauce, so if you are vegan, be sure to ask them to omit that. There are several side items to choose from, which is nice if you are looking for a healthy alternative to french fries (although their fries are pretty good!). They serve Hunts catsup, and that's a downer for me; I'm a Heinz girl, but I'll survive. I also adore the County Fair Avocado; it is deep fried. Enough said, On my first visit there, Josh was our server. He looked like a young version of a rat-pack member with his perfect hair, and he had the perfect personality to go along with it. Super friendly and very attentive. My second visit, although another great experience, was met with a female server who seemed more annoyed with having to wait on us than she was happy to serve. But everyone has their bad days, so I'm not judging. My third visit made up for the prior disappointment, with a different server and a fantastic attitude. As a side note....They say that it is the little things that count, so I give Tupelo Honey kudos for the little, individually-wrapped chocolate mints at the hostess stand; love them! A HUGE plus to this restaurant, other than the awesome food and fantastic service, is that you can make a reservation on their website; even if you only have two in your party. If you don't like waiting, then I strongly recommend that you take advantage of the online reservation option; the restaurant is very popular and there is usually a wait (which is a sign of a great restaurant!). I don't utilize the reservation option, because I find it very fun and relaxing to sit in the bar area while we wait for a table. Their website is extremely user friendly and provides ALL the information you need to gain knowledge about this wonderful restaurant. Sarah was excellent and the only reason our visit did not completely fall apart. She was professional, attentive, and respectful, and she deserves to be recognized for how she handled our group. The manager, Natalie, on the other hand, demonstrated behavior that was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. She was openly rude, dismissive, and handled food and drinks in an aggressive manner--throwing items down and slamming drinks in front of customers. Her tone and body language made it clear she did not want to be there, and it created a hostile and uncomfortable environment for everyone in our group. This is especially concerning because this behavior is coming from a manager. Leadership sets the tone, and in this case, the tone was disrespectful and unwelcoming. This is not a minor issue--it reflects poorly on your entire operation. This situation warrants immediate attention and accountability. No customer should be treated this way, especially by someone in a management role. If this is not addressed, it will continue to damage your business and drive customers away. read more

The reason for 3 stars was the slooooow delivery of our meals. We were told the kitchen was backed up. We waited at least 20 minutes from the time we ordered until our meals came. Did someone not show up for work, understaffed for another reason. This was on a Sunday for brunch which is a busy time. Our server kept informing us that the orders were being worked on. After church, we sought a delightful brunch spot with visiting friends, and we found just that at, Tupelo Honey. The homemade biscuits were a must-try, especially paired with the delightful jam compote and honey. We enjoyed them so much we ordered two batches! The coffee was another highlight, definitely something I'd reorder. Our server was not only responsive but energetically attentive, setting a lively tone for our brunch gathering. The ambiance was light and perfect, enhancing our time together with friends. I opted for the shrimp and grits, which transported me back to the streets of Louisiana, reminiscent of family-owned hole-in-the-wall spots I adore. We took several of our employees from Universal Music and an outside marketing company there last night. They accommodated our party perfectly, checking with me on several occasions before the evening to make sure we had all we needed. We all had food, drinks and dessert. Everything was fantastic and the environment was great. Everyone had an awesome time. Sam was our waiter and couldn't have been anymore professional and helpful. Everything he recommended was top notch and he was on top of everything the entire time we were there. I would definitely recommend rather for entertaining guests or just out with family our friends. This was a brunch excursion while traveling! Loved the atmosphere! Food was great! Our table ordered the fried okra and spicy cauliflower bites as our appetizers. We all absolutely loved the cauliflower! The okra was good, but not as amazing as the cauliflower. Entrees chosen were honey-dusted fried chicken, breakfast bowl and avocado toast and a side of creamy tomato soup. All were DELICIOUS! The only hiccup was a one-piece side of chicken ordered. The piece ordered was a dark piece. It came out as a burnt breast. The server quickly remedied the situation and made everything right! We left full, happy and appreciative. First time visit with the family and my parents. Wanted to try something different. We tried apps and several entrees and the food was very good. Our only issue was service was poor and we were there early in the evening and the restaurant was half empty. Slow on refills and took multiple requests to even get water. We had to stack our own dishes because they were not clearing the table after the appetizers were finished. Just made for an uncomfortable and long evening when you have 3 kids along. We are hoping it was just our one server and we are going to give it another shot because the food was good and there is other items we want to try. read more

My four roommates and I went out for dinner together at Tupelo Honey one busy Friday night, and our experience was incredible! This ever growing community of Nashville has made eating out on the weekends a bit of a gamble between the wait times, the quality service and comfortable atmospheres, yet Tupelo Honey nailed all three Denise was our server and she was so kind and attentive in both detail and hospitality. I highly recommend her service if given the choice! Additionally the food was delicious! My roommates and I shared many different dishes. My daughter and I came here for brunch on a Sunday. We were seated right away and met our server, Zac. He was so sweet and so helpful. I love to be able to talk and cut up with servers and he was such fun person! He recommended some fabulous meals and very attentive. The food was excellent, I had the Banana Pancakes and they were HUGE. I wasn't able to finish them all but I took them home to enjoy another time. We will definitely be back for the food. It was my first visit here, but everything is just quality! I got the fried pickles appetizer, honey dusted fried chicken entree, and mini mason jars for dessert. The chicken was done perfect, juicy and super tasty. Dessert was rich and amazing, definitely don't need a huge portion. A nice southern menu with an upscale twist to it. Our server, Denise, was outstanding as well. She was so kind, and on top of her stuff. She took care of what we needed before we realized we needed it. I was on business in the Franklin TN area and was told about the restaurant from the hotel I was staying (right across the street). The food was very good and plenty for me to choose from. I enjoyed it so much that I went back 3 times in my first week. Not only was the food good, the service was superb. Just flew in for a wedding in Franklin and was recommended to eat at Tupelo. Absolutely fantastic food. Homemade, fresh and unique southern cooking. Great menu. Pamela (our waitress/barmaid) was great and recommended our lunch. We had the fried pickles to start. Probably should have gotten 2 plates because they went fast! I have been here for business lunches a couple of times and finally got a chance to go for brunch for my birthday. My only complaint is that I have a hard time deciding what to order! The menu is a combination of everything I love about Southern food. Goat cheese shrimp & grits topped with baked eggs, hollandaise & creole sauce (So. Recently diagnosed with hosimotio's and on AIP diet. Tupelo Honey is one of the few restaurants that are AIP/paleo friendly. Oh yes, yum, doesn't begin to describe the taste. I had the beet salad, and my friend has a sweet potato bowl. Both were amazing. Now the service: Our waiter, Lawson, was very knowledgeable about items on the menu. Came here with my family a little while ago after hearing from some friends in the area that it was the place to go. I told our server Bekah to just surprise me with my dinner. She asked me for a few likes and dislikes, I ended up with their signature fried chicken with a side of potato hash browns and the best grits I've ever had. We've had consistently good food when visiting. They, like all restaurants in the area, occasionally struggle with staffing once kids return to college in the fall. I'm not sure I can hold that against them as it's a universal issue. They do a good job of seating only the number of tables they can serve during these times, so that helps a lot. Overall very happy with the quality of the food and speed of orders. Hope they are here for years to come. read more

Greeted upon entrance, there was a wait for the table so we decided to sit at the bar. Chris was so helpful and friendly that we decided to stay at the bar for dinner. He explained the the menu choices to us with great detail as the restaurant is a little different then what we are used to. Went for dinner and got the honey bee dusted fried chicken. The menu says 1/2 chicken with their famous honey bee dust. They should rename it the 4 piece combo. It's just 4 pieces of fried chicken, which is indeed half a chicken but the quality of the chicken was poor at best. Flavorless and lukewarm. Places with better fried chicken.
