Found this little gem by accident! Turning Point is a bright, airy place off of Roherstown Road to go to for breakfast or lunch! The staff were very welcoming (Shout out to Anthony here for his friendliness and food recommendations.). My husband and I both ordered omelets and they came with English muffins and/or a small salad or potatoes. I ordered The GOAT with the salad. The salad was topped with a light, citrus dressing! Food- I got the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast without the cheesecake frosting. It was the best I've ever had, and I would definitely get it again. I also got the Cookie Explosion Hot Chocolate, and that was good, too, but I sort of wish it didn't have caramel syrup in it. Otherwise, AMAZING toppings, AND hot chocolate! Also, they have free coffee while waiting and free cereal for children along with peppermints! Service- Great waitress, I love how nice she was. I came here for breakfast with a party of 7 over the weekend. I called ahead around 9:45 to ask about wait times and put our name in, being aware we have a large group and brunch wait times can be long generally. I said we would be there in about 20-25 minutes and was told that was perfect, table should be ready by then. Fast forward to our arrival (I had just confirmed via text we were coming) I go inside and the host tells me the table needs to be cleared and isn't quite ready. No big deal it seemed. The next hour proceeded to be a back and forth of the host reassuring us "we're just waiting for this one table" and "you're next in the queue" and other statements without ever giving an actual time estimate or saying it will be a wait. We reached an hour past our arrival and asked if we could just sit at separate tables. We said if they were unable to accommodate large parties that's fine just tell us so we can go elsewhere; they were unable to give any straight answer which was frustrating. We finally made it in to be seated shortly after that conversation and the experience was fine, food was fine, service was great and the prices were about what you'd expect. If not for the terrible communication about the wait I would have no complaints. If we had been informed at any point that we would have such a long wait time it would have been better. The constant false assurances about an upcoming seating felt unprofessional. There were other options we would have gone to for breakfast had we known it would be such a long wait, but when you're repeatedly told it's fine, you're up next, they just have to clear the table or they're just waiting on one party, we didn't realize it was a problem. Ultimately, if there had been any clear communication about the difficulty of seating a large party or anything at all about the long wait time that would have been much preferred to the vague assurances we received along with lack of any acknowledgement or apology from the hosting staff. I want to first say, that the staff at Turning Point restaurant are the best!! They are very polite, helpful and attentive. Now, about the food...I wasn't immpressed. I ordered a cup of hot chocolate to start off with and the presentation was great, however it tasted like it was made with water. Even all the whipped cream on it didn't help. I was expecting a, chocolately, velvety rich flavor, it was lacking in that area. Secondly, I ordered the basic skillet meal (eggs, potatoes and cheese)... and the potatoes were very dry, they actually ruined the meal. I also would have appreciated a creamier cheese base. All in all, it is a nice place with good service, but the food just wasn't the greatest (in my opinion.) I may give it another try, but no time soon. read more

Found this place on Tik Tok so we went for breakfast. Our server Alexis-Skyy was absolutely fantastic. She reviewed the menu, what to look for and gave an appropriate wait time for our order. She made the whole experience pleasant, in addition to the food quality. The well done home fries and the Pavo Cubano panini were excellent!!! We drove all the way to Lancaster from Harrisburg to meet up with our sons they have been waiting for 45 minutes when we came in they said they already signed up so after an hour we decided to go to YI PIN in Columbia about 0.5 miles we were already eating at YI Pin When my son notified our table is ready. Been reading reviews after I came home and I looked into their Camp Hill location and same problem exists long wait and there is always something forgotten or missing in someone's order. I am a Turning Point fan from way back. I used to frequent the one in Hazlet, NJ, frequently. So I was surprised and delighted to learn that they have now ventured into PA and have a restaurant in Lancaster. I loaded up my posse on a Saturday morning and off we went. I also watched the wait times on their website and got on the waiting list before we arrived. I was happy to see they have the same farmhouse vibe I remembered and "fancy" feeling- like our French Press coffee came with doilies on the plate and a rock candy stirrer. It's just these little touched that make me love this place so much. The restaurant was as busy as expected but the staff hustled to clear tables fast and get people seated. The dining room was clean and bright and not overly crowded. I didn't feel like we were on top of other diners. We started with a French press of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee. We're coffee snobs and this was delicious. For the three adults partaking of this coffee, our server said one press would be enough, but the provided mugs are HUGE (they even say "We like Big Mugs and we cannot lie") so the three of us each had about 2/3rds of a cup of coffee. We should have ordered another one. We also had the starter cinnamon rolls that are covered with your preferred amount of icing at the table. We got a lot of icing. I had the Avocado Smash Benedict, and I'm picky about eggs. These poached eggs were PERFECT. The whites were perfectly cooked and the yolks were still runny. I asked for extra hollandaise. The flavors were great. Putting it on ciabatta was interesting because it was a little difficult to cut through. I still loved it. My husband had huevos rancheros and I had a couple of bites. It was delicious and fresh tasting. I liked whatever type of chorizo they're using because it wasn't overpowering the rest of the dish. My son had the benedict that included smoked salmon and he loved it. I didn't have any. My friend had the Breakfast Combo and upgraded her pancake to the cannoli pancake and it looked amazing. It was good but a bit more or stronger mustard would have helped. My side was spiced, roasted potatoes which were also good and plentiful. Service was prompt and friendly.
