A cute little spot near the hotel I was staying at! Wanted brunch food and coffee, and found a great spot. Vegan and vegetarian options available. Absolutely loved our sever, she was so friendly and amicable. I felt taken care of. As for the food, the coffee with rock sugar (very clever) and omelet were very good. Potatoes were salty and some ended up being burnt or hard so it was difficult to pierce with a fork. This breakfast shop has okay food. That said, for an early morning breakfast show it was also creakily slow to open. I was one of the first diners in the door - and the proprietor at the door was anything but polite and courteous. She gave a huff, took the menus, walked off to the back to help her employees open late.. Eggs, hash browns, bacon and herbs were made decently. My mistake was ordering the first cup of coffee from a burnt coffee urn. The joe tasted like the dirty scrub off a frying pan. Ech! Then the waiter spilled half/half all over the table. Turning Point needs to get it together early in the day. As I left after my meal, waitresses were hopping out of running cars (while vaping) and it was one late, scurried, splashed meal. The ambiance is that of a doctor's shop. No friendly greeting! Food took quite a long time to prepare and usually I don't mind waiting.. I'd try it for lunch. Completely underwhelmed by my experience here at Turning Point Princeton : ( My other experiences with Turning Point at other locations were great, but for this one it completely missed the mark. I came here with a bunch of my coworkers for breakfast after a crazy night shift at work and was excited to eat -- although tired haha. I ordered the Grand French Toast ... and that was the mistake I made. On paper it sounds delicious, but when I was put in front of me I thought I was given the wrong order. I thought I was being served some toast straight out of the toaster, but lo-and-behold it was the Grand French Toast (refer to picture). Of course I got syrup on the side, but this just wasn' it. Cutting into the french toast, it crumbled like toast straight out of the toaster and not even a side cup of strawberries (that cost $3 might I add) that I requested could save this dish. Spending a total of around $15 on 3 pieces of slightly browned bread and a mini cup of strawberries is not worth it. Try something else on the menu, please : / read more

Love Turning Point in general. They have many locations in NJ but are all still local and small business. Each one is decorated with decor local to the look of the area. This review is specifically for Princeton. Went with my husband on a Monday morning. Got seated immediately (there can be a long wait some times so plan ahead). Got seated next to the gas fireplace. Love that! Our table was very wobbly even with something wedged underneath it. Staff was aware of the issue. It was still annoying. Ordered the seasonal pumpkin spice chai latte. Beautiful. Aesthetic. Delicious. Only downside is that it's premixed chai so there's no non dairy option. They can give you non dairy milk on the side but not for the chai. That's a frustrating downside. I'm just lactose intolerant so it was worth the price I'll pay later. I ordered the Choose 2 lunch special for $11 but instead of a salad, I got 2 sandwiches hahaha (thank you to our waitress for not judging me). Got my favorite chicken salad sandwich. Love this sandwich. Always a classic. Has cranberries and nuts in it. Highly recommend. I'm not even a fan of chicken salad but this one is so good. Also got the seasonal fall harvest avocado toast: smashed avocado, arugula, crushed bacon, goat cheese, toasted pumpkin seeds, cranberries. Good in theory, execution was meh. Super messy. All the toppings kept falling off. The avocado mash was a little discolored. Whole avocado would have tasted better. The bacon overpowered everything. I wouldn't get it again personally but glad I tried it. Husband got a make your own skillet which he always likes but his eggs were severely over cooked. To the point where he didn't finish it but he didn't want to complain (I understand the hassle). Service was great. Used my perks card for points. I have mixed thoughts about the turning point. Not sure why on a Monday at 12pm there's a 40 minute wait with most of the tables open but the next day on a Tuesday same time same amount of patrons there was no wait. Maybe they were short staffed that day - who knows. Anyways the food here is pretty good but not phenomenal and not worth a potential 40+ minute wait imo. Came here when there was a crazy wait, but got a hot tip from a couple leaving that if you sit at the bar, you can walk right in, to which we did! I should mention that we were with our toddler, bv the server who took care of us literally asked us what my son's favorite Disney movie was and put it on the screen. I mean, how sweet and thoughtful is that? Just for that small gesture I would give this place five stars! Ok, but seriously, let's talk about the food. The wait can be long, so call ahead or use the Yelp app to put your name down on the waiting list. When we arrived, we only had to wait about 5 minutes to be seated, while others who were just arriving were given a 40 minute wait time. Their menu is so vast that it was hard for each of us to decide what we wanted. For the coffee lovers, definitely go for the french press. It may sound like a lot at $9 a pop, but you get a good 4-5 mugs of delicious coffee out of it. After much deliberation, our table ordered the Breakfast nachos (why not! Went here for a quick brunch with my boyfriend. There's plenty of parking available. They do NOT take reservations, it's on a first come first serve basis, but when you get there, they basically add you to their yelp waitlist. My suggestion is to hop on that waitlist before you're on your way over, depending how long it is! This saved us ALOT of time and we were seated within 15 minutes of getting to the location. Yes, you definitely still have to wait a little even if you add your name to the waitlist. They have comfortable seating outside and shops you can walk into around the establishment. Here is what we had: Drinks: I got the hot chocolate (it's HUGE) and it comes with a bunch of whipped cream. It's a good hot chocolate, if you're in the mood I'd recommend it. My BF got the cold brew which he also enjoyed. They give it in a bottle and give you a separate glass with fancy ice to pour it into which was cool. They offer you some simple syrup for it as well. Food: Shakshuka: we got this to share and it was OK. I'd give it a 7/10, probably wouldn't order it again. The eggs were poached nicely, but the tomatoes and all were a little too sour for me. I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to taste, it just sounded good so we got it. Maybe I'm just not a fan of shakshuka?? I'd try it if you're normally into shakshuka and see what you think! They also didn't give enough bread with it, I wish there was more! It tasted so much better with the bread. Pancake flight: We did the berry chocolatey and cinnamon roll! Personally, I am usually a chocolate lover but the cinnamon roll pancakes were SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! Hot, fresh and perfect. Most of the time, when my BF and I order food, we over order and have something left over, but after this meal there was almost nothing left, which makes me feel like the portions must've been kind of small and between the both of us we spent like almost $40-50, which is kind of a lot. After a poor experience at this Mercer Mall location, I decided to give it another try. At about 10:00 am on a Monday morning when I ordered coffee the server said they were out. I paused a beat. I expected to hear that a new pot was brewing and would be ready in a few minutes. But no the restaurant was out of regular coffee at 10 am. I spoke with the manager. He said that this sometimes happens if they have a busy weekend. There is a Costco about a mile down the road. They could have bought beans there. I had a great time the 1st time I was here (I ordered a tomato toast with 2 eggs any style - DELICIOUS), but this 2nd time I visited a few weeks ago, was not up to par. First and foremost, my 2 cousins and I were seated promptly after reserving a table earlier in the morning. Our waiter was attentive and nice as well. I ordered a caramel iced coffee but when I got it, it was black coffee with ice. I just assumed that a caramel iced coffee meant it was with milk/cream already added. It's okay that it wasn't, but our waiter should have let me know. There should be other cold coffee specialties, how about a caramel iced latte or macchiato or something? 2nd, I ordered the huevos rancheros, and it was NOT what I was expecting. Wow, last visit here exceeded expectations (per my review in 2016). Was seated promptly upon making a reservation and was able to eat outdoors as it was a beautifully warm spring day! Service was sufficient and polite. Ordered the avocado toast as appetizer and it was not jazzed with fancy fixins like many places do, however it was NOT needed. Freshly smashed avo, tomato slices, salt/pepper/olive oil on multi-grain bread. Simple and still SO flavorful. 4 halves, great to share. My entrée though... seriously. Salted caramel Belgium waffle. Had brown sugar, walnuts, caramel, and best of all the bacon bits which blended incredibly well. The waffle itself was sweet and fluffy - would have eaten it plain too. Very full upon completion. My first visit to this location but have been to the Marlton one several times. On first glance the decor is almost identical, just hoping the food is as well. My guest ordered their standard French toast, I was craving chicken and waffles, and we decided to split the avocado toast as an app. The toast was pretty good, but it's an item that can be easily replicated at home, and if during peak tomato season would be more enjoyable. The French toast was enjoyed, I loved my waffles, and though it's been awhile, this locations version was better than at Marlton. The sausage gravy was separate and I just used sparingly since it tends to be sodium rich. The chicken tenders were in fact tender and freshly breaded and fried, waffles just slightly savory. If I was a breakfasty/ brunchy person this would be my preferred choice. TTP has a pretty good rewards program that is a bit complicated. I think you have to present your perks card at least once a year to be active and eligible for those rewards. Even though I dined at the other location often enough, I didn't usually present my card, and thus became an inactive member. Maybe the work around is to ask for separate checks from time to time. Went to Turning Point this morning for my Birthday Breakfast with my wife. My wife and I made several attempts to let the server know it was my birthday while also displaying and then presenting my loyalty card. The bill came back with no discount, which I kind of anticipated based on his lack of acknowledgment. It took no less than four returning interactions before he learned he could not complete the transaction/discount. I then watched as he asked the manager twice to assist him who appeared to dismiss the request even with the original loyalty card, which he confirmed on his 5th or 6th return to our table adding that the cards are no longer valid, further stating that birthday meal discounts are available via the web app but he would be happy to assist me if I were to set it up while sitting here. Determined, I created the new account. Again our server entered the new information and returned with the corrected bill only to find out that the 30 minutes of back and forth was worth $5. It was further explained that I will get an email notice for my birthday voucher, but I can't use it this visit....i then ask for the manager to stop by. I calmly informed her I was not happy, and asked her to help me understand her limitations, why she couldn't have assisted us in any way, while pointing out that had I known the only discount available was $5, I would not have wasted the time in the first place. At some point she asked when is my birthday which I replied... ah today?!.... to which she replied a kind of insulting "oh .. happy birthday" and then offered that she would honor the entree voucher up to the first of next month.......to which I replied ... so January 1st minus Christmas and New Years?.... Travelled down to New Jersey last night to see some old high school friends and decided to stop by at the Turning Point of Princeton for a Sunday morning brunch. Logistics: If you're looking to come here for a Sunday brunch, make sure to call ahead as you'll likely be looking at a 30 minute to 1 hour wait (fully worth the wait). The Food: Phenomenal. I ordered the Avocado Smash Benny for myself and split a huge french toast dish with my friend --both were very filling and definitely hit the spot after a long night of catching up with my friends (check photos to see what the dishes looked like). The absolute highlight of the meal however, was the XXL BOURBON PEPPER BACON that we ordered to start (it was so good we asked for a double order of the bacon). Those strips of meat sent my mouth straight to heaven, no cap. Sweet, salty, fatty, and blackened, the bacon strips literally melted in your mouth. If there's one thing you take away from this review, it's to ORDER the bacon appetizer. Aside from that, we also ordered two salmon platters to share. Just your standard bagel, lox, and a few veggies -- high quality food, but nothing mind blowing. We arrived on a saturday morning around 11 am and were offered a table inside after some confusion with another party that arrived after us. The tables and chairs were not 6 ft apart, some people from different table were sitting pretty close together, and half of the employees inside were not wearing masks including someone who looked like the manager. We also saw one person wiping the table who dropped the rag on the floor and continued to wipe the table. We decided to wait for one of the three tables outside instead and were seated rather quickly. Avacado toast with poached eggs on top was pretty good. This is also not the cheapest place for breakfast. Between 4 people we all ordered 1 breakfast item, 1 coffee or juice and our bill was $85. I love the Turning Point in Brick so I was thrilled when I found out Princeton had one. Well 2 years and 4 visits later I'm so disappointed in this restaurant. The service is always slow and the last 2 visits I've gotten a dirty glass for my water. This morning they brought us out warm water to drink which I couldn't drink because my glass was dirty. The food is pretty good so this is entirely a bad service situation. My wife never got her iced Chai that she ordered. This rating is painful for me to leave for what was once one of my favorite restaurants in the area (Schezuan House now holds that honor). I used to frequently come here with my husband and my mom. I had an intense project I had to do today after staying up all night last night. I was starving and I needed caffeine so I decided to get Wilbur's Skillet with a Caramel Latte. I can't even begin to describe how inedible the food was -- you all should be ashamed to have delivered it. The potatoes were completely cold, there was barely any cheese, the egg was cold and the bacon was cold and wasn't crispy. It was just absolutely disgusting and I had been looking forward to it so much. I literally couldn't even eat it and ended up throwing it away (except for the english muffin). I will never come back and will make sure to tell my mom to stay far, far away. You all have changed, this absolutely is not the same establishment I have been frequenting since I moved to the area six years ago. I would have been much, much better off ordering from Cracker Barell, or hell, even IHOP. I got the eggs benedict and it has the hollandaise sauce. It also comes with bacon, and avocado spread with bread. That was so good and yummy. I wasn't a big fan of the hollandaise sauce. The order also comes with cube potato fries and pancakes. I got the walnut pancakes and the blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were very good. I also got the Cuban sandwich which also comes with chips. I would highly recommend the pumpkin pancake dish which is seasonal. I got the Wilbur skillet which I thought was fine but ordinary, like what you can make at home. On the other hand, my friend did not enjoy his bacon sandwich. Our service was excellent even though the wait was so long on a Sunday morning (1.5 hours for a large party). I used to like this restaurant when they opened. Recently, I noticed that they don't have enough waiters to serve people. It is understandable that it's hard to hire people to work nowadays. That will affect the service for the customers. Since staffs are shortage, the cup and utensils are being dirty and need to throw out some that's making people not wanting to come back. Even though they see the brown stuffs sticking on the cup, they are still serving it anyway. read more

Came here for breakfast and wanted to sit outside. Manger said out door seating wasn't available and next people came in and sat at the table I requested. Then ordered coffee and we are on minute 15 and still no coffee. You would think that it's close to Princeton that service would be better Let's add bugs to the table too little red bugs coming from the utensils bag 20 minutes still no coffee. But the manager did apologize and gave us a meal voucher for the next trip and took off the appetizer. So add one more star for effort. read more
