The wait is a bit long so be sure to call before you arrive to get your name on the wait list. While you're waiting, you're free to help yourself to some coffee, which is nice. They need to be trained on friendliness and restaurant etiquette---check back with the table to see if there is anything else the customer needs. Never done ! Had to signal your server to come back. My biggest concern is the cleanliness of your establishment. I noticed the floor was dirty, food and paper scattered here and there. My table and chair was not wiped off and I noticed no other tables were cleaned prior to each guest being seated. The water glasses were dirty and the carafe looked questionable. I did not bother to ask for more, just did not want to take that risk. Another issue I noticed many of your staff place the carafes against their bodies (why) (their clothing is not clean) and then they carry multiple glasses with their hands, place the glasses down on the table but holding the glass at the rim. Your staff have touched many of surfaces, objects etc and to put your uncleaned hands on the rim of glass is insanely unacceptable! All carafes and glasses should be carried by a tray only. Picked up from the bottom never the rim. The restaurant promotes an unhealthy eating environment. Potentially putting customers at a health risk. I hope your establishment looks into these practices. Came hungry and didn't leave disappointed for Sunday brunch. Cause it's brunch there can be a little wait but it's worth it. They do close at 3PM so plan accordingly. The menu is a good spread. My party decided to do an nontraditional appetizer. We need the breakfast nachos. Great choice for a party. Went with the skillet and it's filling. Stopped by here for breakfast on a Saturday morning while I was getting my car serviced nearby. The place was pretty busy with a lot of families. I was immediately greeted by the wonderful team members, who seemed genuinely happy to be working here. I ordered a Wilbur skillet and one of their speciality espresso drinks (Fallin for Chai) - both were excellent. The potatoes were crispy, it was well-seasoned, and the over-easy eggs were cooked nicely. Only feedback is the salt felt a touch too much, but otherwise I enjoyed it. My waitress (Sage) was amazing! Very friendly and had a great attitude. Overall, I would say the best feature of this restaurant was the staff - it seems they all love working here as a team, and I am glad I came. After about 20 ish minutes, we were seated. Our server met with us sooner after and took our orders. Coffee first followed by this awesome looking bacon dish that we saw come out to another table. Coffee (dark roast) was meh. Not really strong, even after steeping for longer than instructed. I ordered shakshuka and it was pretty good, coming with some toast. No complaints there. Oh boy, where do I start? I've been wanting to go to this place for the last two years. I'm going to change up my writing style here so you can understand why I gave this place a one star rating. 1. We complained to our waitress twice and asked why it was taking so long. When we saw two other tables get their food before us (we were seated before them). He later came by our table to explain that the ticket order was submitted 12 minutes ago, saying that that was when we placed our order. I said, NO, we placed our order 40 minutes ago. I said, the proof is in my Yelp checkin app. Do you want to see it? He apologized again and said the meal will be on the house. 5. At this point the whole experience has been tainted and my assessment of the food may be biased. This was by far the worst French toast I have ever had. Even the bacon bits couldn't save this dish. It was served cold and lacked flavor. Definitely no OMG moment as the name of the dish suggest. More like, OMG, when the hell is the food coming? The shrimp hash bowl was decent but a bit salty. We've been to this place quite a few times now, and always on a Saturday/Sunday. The wait times at this place are pretty long, each time we've been here we had to wait for a minimum of 30-45 minutes, however the most recent visit literally tested our patience levels, we were initially told it'll be about 30-45 minutes but we ended up being seated after 90 minutes. The only reason we kept coming here is because their food is great and we love the ambience with all the natural sunlight from the sky lights above, it's a great start to the day. This visit however was too much for us. The service was very slow. We ordered a veggie omelette, waffle and pancakes. The veggies inside the omelette were raw after waiting for the food for over 25 minutes. So the good part about this place is, food is fresh and always good and feels healthy, not your typical IHOP kind of food. Their house specialty coffee shake is delicious!! The Turning Point of Princeton is one of a few in the area. This was my second time coming to this particular location. First off... it's BYOB which makes for a great brunch spot. The menu is somehow enormous but not daunting. There is a page of seasonal specialties including a long list of morning beverages and some inspired seasonal options. There are so many tempting and interesting items on the menu. This visit I went with the Grande Huevos Rancheros. It comes with three eggs your way whoaaa. A simple yet delicious way to start the morning. Prices are reasonable and lots of menu still to explore. They do not take reservations which makes it hard to go with a large group of people. I get that but I would definitely come more often if I knew beforehand I wouldn't have to wait 45 minutes to an hour. read more

Went to this location on 2/18/23. I'm not sure if each location has their own menu or if it changes often but it was not a familiar menu. Nothing jumped off the menu sayin "try me!" After pondering the menu the three of us just blurted out something we saw versus something we wanted. Food took a tiny bit but it was packed. Quality was good but not great. Quantity was fair but not good. There's a couple more in the state that we have to visit but either it was the location itself or a view of things to come. I will qualify that this particular chain restaurant is not nor has ever been my favorite but it's my wife's and I go for her. Here's the thing with the Turning Point: If you're into eggs benedict, pancakes, waffles and french toast, then you'll likely be contented. The bulk of their breakfast menu is made up of variations on these breakfast standards. They've a few omelets, you can get some a la cart fried eggs and grits or a few skillet egg dishes and you've got a kind of odd take on a huevos ranchero, but the place doesn't really delve much deeper into the breakfast genre. I see lots of people getting those waffles, french toasts or pancakes covered with piled on fruits and nuts with drizzle of sauce, and they chow like pretty happy campers, but I've never been in to that. If I'm having fruit with my pancake, I like it in the pancake, not on top of it. I know--I'm finicky like that. My wife is nuts for the lobster benedict (which is why we've been there more than a couple of times). I had a chicken and waffle special the other day, and the chicken was fried chicken tenders with a small ladle of chorizo gravy on top. Chicken tenders? Really? The waffle itself was baked (weird?), blah and nothing special. I had to ask for syrup to give it some flavor. I don't know if that's their standard waffle, but if it is, no thank you. The huevos ranchero is filling, but it's not your madre's huevos ranchero. In a tortilla bowl (my tortilla was a little stale around the edges), it had a nice filling, and was much healthier than a normal ranchero, but when I order a huevos ranchero, I want it to my mother's huevos ranchero. If anyone knows where you can get an old school huevos ranchero for breakfast in the Trenton area, please let me know. Really. The Wilbur skillet was good and filling, but not exceptional or exceptionally different from something you can get in any other diner or can make at home, and I'm not a big fan of eating something for breakfast that I can easily make at home with ingredients that I usually have on hand. One big plus is that they make a pretty mean chocolate shake, which might not seem like something you'd actually want as a breakfast item, but that's only if you've never had one for breakfast. Get a chocolate shake for breakfast. You can thank me later. On the whole, the Turning Point is a probably a good place for the average person to have breakfast. It's clean, well staffed and carries a menu that the average American would be pretty happy to have. It's just not my type of place. In a word, it's "Vanilla". Not my favorite flavor. read more

I came in for brunch with my family not too long ago. Unfortunately, we chose midmorning a few days before Christmas, so it felt like everyone and their mother came to Turning Point that day. Nevertheless, we waited about 15-20 minutes to get a table, which was actually pretty quick for the amount of people that were ahead of us. Turning Point's ambiance has a cozy and familiar feel to it. It's not what you would expect, as its is sandwiched in the middle of other stores in a strip mall. Once seated, our orders were immediately taken by a kind and attentive server. I got the house coffee and the classic eggs Benedict. I found the coffee to be barely passable, but the eggs Benedict was reallyyyyyy good. Everyone else with me got the huevos rancheros and they they loved it too. Everything was seasoned perfectly and presented very nicely. I also stole a sip of my sisters s'mores hot chocolate and it was really yummy and sweet - definitely get it if you're looking to satisfy a sweet tooth. Prices were reasonable and portions were pretty decent. We loved this place so much that we talked about going there again one more time within the week (spoiler: we didn't get to). Home of the very best shrimp and grits that I've tasted since moving to NJ in December of 2020. Our reservation was for 11:00am and we arrived a few minutes early.We were seated rather quickly and immediately after that, we were introduced to our server " Owen" honestly, Owen is what inspired this review. Customer service skills 100/10. It seems as if every where I go following the pandemic a server feels the need to say " I'm new" or it shows based off of the service but today was a bit different. Owen, suggested other items for things on the menu I was uncertain about. Although the place was crowded "11am" on a Saturday he didn't seem annoyed or rushed and throughout our meal the restaurant manager Even came over to introduce himself to us. As a young, Gay, African American couple in "Princeton NJ" we didn't feel invisible.
