We had the Monte Cristo and the Smokin Hot Fungi burger. $36. The Monte Cristo was the worst we've ever had. It didn't have American cheese and the meat was lacking. It was also a little cold and had too much breading. We couldn't stop talking about how bad it was. The Smokin Hot Fungi burger was very good. Except that the mushrooms were too smoky. But, the spicy sauce and the plentiful meat and veggies made us overlook that small issue. The main problem is that the place was too busy. They did not have enough staff to prevent us from wasting over 90 minutes over the course of our meal. Not recommended if you have something planned after your meal. read more

I like the location, come here in the middle of the day and hope service is good. We have been sitting for about 5 minutes and nothing. So now I'm getting worried. Let me soon contact the manager since all we are doing is waiting. Now it is 10 minutes. Nothing!! Seems to be a problem here as 3 other tables got upset for waiting for any type of service Got a manager to come over and a young lady came over apologized and took our order. Super busy on a Saturday. Good selection of beers, and the service was pretty darn good. We also ate here, and the food selection was good. Portions were quite large. I had the nachos, which were wonderful. Others had things like wings, pizza, and salads. The pizzas were a little larger than a personal size, and easily shareable between two people. read more

Great! Everything was great. The cooks, the bartenders, and the greeters were all friendly and did whatever they could to help. It's a fine clean place with open, well-lit, spaces. The chairs and bay stools are a bit hard, so bring your arena pads. The sandwiches salads and soups are so tasty. The ones I found most delicious were the Monte Cristo sandwich, chicken Cobb with Greek dressing, and the posole. The Shiprock and Black Mesa pizzas are fantastic. Be sure to get another order for take home meals the next day. Their assortment of local draft beers is excellent and does well to promote 505 braumeisters. Everyone was kind. Great food, large portions so always have a take home box, the appetizers are all very delicious! I highly recommend the Calamari though. The staff is friendly and very helpful if you need a recommendation. The only draw back is the ceilings are high and if you have a hard time hearing you'll be uncomfortable with the noise level. read more

Because this place is convenient to my home, we went back. We waited a bit for a table, but some seats opened up at the bar, so we took them instead. The place was packed for a Saturday night dinner. I order a Reuben sandwich on marbled rye bread. The corned beef was all dried out and overcooked. Looks like it had been sitting under a heat lamp a long time, although the seasoned French fries were so overcooked and cold too. When you bit into them, the centers were hollow with a hardened potato shell on each fry. Ugh. The potato skins were decent and the highlight of the meal. The ice tea was so diluted and flavorless, even with light ice. Adding sugar did not help. The bartender was cute and very attentive. I did not complain, and just picked at my food . The acoustics here are bad and you can hardly carry on a conversation. The other location on Southern is so much better. The food preparation is better and you can carry on a conversation there. read more

I had such a bad attitude that morning because I was hangery, everything bothered me. We entered and you could have looked at me and smiled and I would have been bothered. They had sat us ALL the way in the back and it bugged me because everyone else was in the front of the house. Our waitress, Melody,came up and started taking to us and suggesting things that she liked and what would go good together. Needless to say, she changed my WHOLE attitude with HER awesome attitude and smile. I absolutely loved the pizza she had suggested because that's the way she orders it, and it was spot on. It was the Chimayo, sub jalapeños no green chile. It was amazing! I wanted spice, but not green chile and she knocked it out of the park. We also got the Cochiti combo, sub extra queso no salsa and the sun mountain sandwich. She also asked if we would like to have a roadie sodie( Dr. Pepper to go) Hell yes! Besides getting food in my stomach, Melody made our dining experience that much better and I appreciated her great attitude! read more

There seemed to be a dark, no service corner where families got sat in when we came with other people who had children. Our server took quite some time to acknowledge us to even get us drinks. I heard the manager ask him how he was struggling as he only had 3 tables total, we finally got his attention and ordered drinks and food at the same time. I noticed how long it took for food for the people before us which was fairly long. The table next to us got their food incorrectly made as one person had bad allergies and the server did not note it, so it had to be remade. We had the same server. If I came back here, I'd sit outside as we couldn't even fathom hearing one another and I don't want to be sat in the dark corner with no lights just because I have a child. read more

Arrived just before 5pm and half the tables were open. We came specifically for someone's birthday and we were all looking forward to it. When we asked for a table for 10, which we assumed would be no issue since half the tables were open, we were told it would be 1.5-2 hours wait because they had already used their large table. When my older mother asked why, both hostesses snapped at her and were so rude and unprofessional. I'd hate for your establishment to act professional and maybe complete the rigorous task of pushing 2 tables together. Your staff lost income from a large tab and all future business! I'd suggest looking elsewhere if you're considering dining here. Bosque is just down the road and treat their customers kindly. read more

We enjoy coming to this location when we want Turtle Mountain because it's bigger and the ambiance is lovely. Their salads are always delicious. The only thing I wish they had was the Three Rivers sandwich that can be found at the south location. The service is always great and I've never been disappointed! read more

When we first walked in the door, the two hostesses barely acknowledged us. They looked like they wanted to be ANYWHERE else than there. No smile and the briefest of service. They had no issue giggling and smiling with each other we noticed. Besides that, the food was typical, but fairly tasty. The waiter was not too bad. Our family bounces between Turtle North and Turtle OG weekly! We love the staff, the food the atmosphere! I admit I have grown up with many of the folks that work with Nico, shoot, I have known Nico for over 20 years. With that being said I still feel this review is worth posting and is as candid as can be! Hot damn are the braised rib special they had today at Turtle North next level!!! Our son, Xander, ordered them and was a little cautious eating ribs with braces. However we were assured they were so buttery they could be cut with a spoon! Sweet goodness; they delivered! The braised ribs were decadent as well as the creamy garlic mashed potatoes and crispy green beans! My only apology is that by the time this is posted the special is probably sold out! Picked-up order. 2 younger girls could use some lessons in manners. My big toe has more personality than they do. Absolutely, no eye contact and holier than thou attitudes. The one getting the food for the To-go orders kept playing with her hair then touching napkins and food and flirting with staff. So unprofessional. Pizza had been sitting under the heat lamp for over 10 mins. Got home it was cold. I knew it would be and when I said something she snarled her answer at me. As I was watching, the cheese fries had been sitting as well which made them dried out. Totally gross. First time since Turtle Mountain North Opened that I received such service. I might as well go to Turtle mountain South if I want nasty food and awful service. Suggest the manager fire the girls. It may be that generation but no excuse for their attitudes. Food and service are always consistent. Prices are reasonable. Clean restrooms. Can get a little loud but the TV's at the Bar are always on and have something good to watch. Can get a little cold so I always take in a light hoodie/sweater. Staff at the Bar always have recommendations other than Beer, Wine and regular Cocktails. Food was great! My husband and I were seated in the back of the restaurant near the back door, bathroom and a beverage station. It was loud and colder than the rest and we were separated for everyone in the restaurant. The wait staff were fine but it was a strange place to be seated and we both felt ostracized. We didn't attempt to ask to be moved which we would do next time we think. We first tried to assume they were filling that area but never seated anyone else near us. read more

Very nice addition to the way north side of Rio Rancho. The have a great selection of beer on tap and we had the Truchas pizza made in a brick oven and Monte Cristo and they we both very very good. I tried the Slice of Hefen and was a great taste and light compared to most of the heavy beers in New Mexico. The staff was very friendly and came around many times to make sure we were taken care of. The bathrooms were well maintained which is a big deal for me. read more

Great beer, really really good pizza and salad, the kitchen's limit right now due to staffing issues, post-height of COVID when everyone is struggling to get back on our feet. Had the Truchas pizza, with artichoke hearts and pine nuts, a porter, and the dry Irish stout, true  to style, all delicious. The pizza crust was a nice combo of foldable middle and crunchy edge. Also a house salad which was nice and fresh. My only criticism is the load of cheese on the pizza that left me wearing it on my chin a couple times. Orders came up quickly, beer samples were offered to help us decide. A serious high point was the staff who seemed mostly young and were pleasant, super attentive, and communicative with each other. They worked together like a well oiled machine.  I live far away, but when I'm on the west side, if I survive the traffic (like NASCAR with no training or experience), will definitely stop in. This is apparently a new location for TM. The location is convenient and the restaurant is nice but the pizza was ordinary and nothing to rave about. The beer was fine. The salad my companion ordered was also described as ordinary. Apparently they forgot to bring the chicken for the chicken salad, could have been a misunderstanding while taking the order. read more
