Awesome craft beer selection from local breweries! Food is good but it's definitely bar food. Great happy hour, but regular prices are a little steep. Wednesday $7 pizzas are a great deal. So I felt like having a burger today. Just not a fast food one. Thankfully Turtles is doing to go, and I figured I'd give them a shot. I ordered a cheeseburger medium, onion rings and their special seasoned sour cream. This totaled out at just under $11, which is literally the same as you'd pay for a Double Whopper with cheese and onion rings at Burger King. Think about that for a second you could pay a huge multi national corporation for something that requires you use quotes when you describe it's patties as "beef", and onion rings that taste like plastic; or a locally owned restaurant making good fresh food. Seriously even if it wasn't very good, which it was, that alone earns respect. On to the food! The burger patty was nice, thick enough to allow it to be actually cooked medium, but thin enough that it has a good sear. It was seasoned perfectly. I went simple because I was totally judging them and just got cheese, nothing else. Ron Swanson would be proud, and he would also love this burger like I did! The bun was fresh and toasted well. Over all it was just a damn great burger, like hella good! The onion rings were crispy, and it seemed like they took the time to prep the onions correctly so I was able to take a bite without extracting the rest of the onion from the delicious golden brown batter! They stood on their own with out any condiment, but the seasoned sour cream tipped them into epicness! Really great together! If there were more stars to give, Turtles would get them! I'm looking forward to exploring more of what these guys have to offer. TLDR: really great food and good prices. Stop going to chain restaurants and EAT AT TURTLES!!! read more

We were next door at Shakopee Brewhall and decided we wanted to get something to eat so tried Turtles (after checking out the Yelp reviews, of course!). Turtles consists of three rooms - a dining room with a bar on each side. There is zero ambiance here; furniture is VFW-style. Lots of TVs if you're needing to watch a sporting event. The hostess and the waitress were very friendly and efficient. On the advice of some other Yelpers we went with pizza (the Hey Dude) and tap beer. The pizza was great and they do have a lengthy list of local brews. We were there on a Saturday night and it was very busy. There was a wait for tables as we left. So, I'd maybe come back if I was in the area and didn't have other options but I wouldn't go out of my way. read more

server Anne, was obvious that she did not want to wait on us outside. there were no exchanges of pleasantries and we did always so please and thank you. took at least 20 minutes to get appetizers, pizza took over a half hour to get and it was overdone. So disappointed, I love this place. We always come for the great craft beer list and have always been impressed. Today, I tried to mix it up with some build your own Mac and cheese- wow terrible experience. Served ice cold - which totally happens. The bartender started out kind and said she would have them heat it up - great! But when it returned it was colder than the first time. Then she completely ignored us, no how was it? Is it better? Zero. Eventually when I could get her attention, I asked for a to go box and said it was colder than the first time - she just smiled and go the box. I don't even understand the whole experience. This place has been great in the past. I'll take my food home, heat it and calm down. Unfortunate service experience. read more

We ordered food from Turtle's while at Shakopee brewhall. We ordered beef nachos and wings from Turtles. The food was expensive and not worth the money AT ALL!! The wings were $15 and it was the smallest servings of wings I've ever seen! (And I'm used to seattle prices) MAYBE worth $7 on a good day. The nachos hardly had any cheese, cheese that was there was clumped together with the sparse ground beef, had lettuce all over which made it hard to eat and was mostly just chips with canned olives and lettuce. This also cost about $15 and incredibly disappointing. I rarely write reviews but this was a bad enough experience that I wanted to let people know. Don't order food from Turtle's! It's not worth what you'll pay!!! read more

Food is pretty good with lots of options on the menu. A bit overpriced for what you get. The very young teenage staff can be hit or miss.

Stopped by here on the way home from Valley Fair. Forgot that the Vikings were on but was still seated right away and the game crowd was of all ages and very well behaved (as well as could be on border battle day) Pretty large place with tons of TVs. Wait staff was friendly and engaging, also trying to keep tabs on the game :) Was pretty hungry so ordered a decent amount. If not so hungry definately shareable entrees. Started with a pitcher of draft root beer, very smooth and creamy, beats big names any day! My daughter ordered the Chicken Alfredo, nice sized pieces of grilled chicken and a very cheesy and creamy sauce. On her scale from 1-10 she says it was a 7. It comes with a side salad and garlic toast. She isn't much for salad so I ate it, pretty good side salad. I ordered the wings and cheese curds. The Thai flavor was ok, next time I think I'll try their Dragon. The cheese curds were white cheddar and had a light breading, not over cooked. My wife had the chicken tender meal. The tenders were juicy and crispy. Cole slaw was good, was chunky with a creamy sauce and not sweet or sour. The potatoes were ok, paired well with the dish, maybe try a different side next time. The turtle sundae is a bit unique, comes in a small taco bowl which has cinnamon and sugar like a churro. A healthy scoop of ice cream covered with chocolate and caramel sauces. Overall a fun time was had with good food and seems a great place to watch games. read more

My wife and I had an awesome chance to be together on a Saturday, which is rare because one of us usually has something going on. We looked in the Entertainment book and saw a 2 for 1 at Turtles and decided to give it a shot. The restaurant is among a bunch of different bars and restaurants and when you walk in it is dark yet friendly. To the right and left are two bars and in the middle are tables with tons of huge TVs hanging on the wall with sports going on. We were seated and I ordered a tall Summit and my wife got a Diet Coke. The menu had a ton of great items on it, I was waxing and waning between a buffalo chicken pizza or a Reuben or a Monte Cristo. My wife ordered a cheeseless pizza with chicken so I went for the Monte Cristo. Usually my favorite! Instead of the fries I went with a dinner salad with blue cheese on the side. The dinner salad was fantastic, just the perfect size and our server brought it out quick. I could have used some more dressing, but that was probably my bad. I had a few pieces of my wife's pizza and it was awesome! The sauce is just spicy enough! Lots of chicken! Great crust. My Monte Cristo was awesome, not fried and greasy, lots of meat and cheese with a raspberry yogurt on the side which was a great condiment. It was sooooo good. The service was fantastic and prices were reasonable, I would have liked to see a cheaper beer, but you can't have everything. A fun Saturday date. read more

Ordered two pizzas and they came with canned mushrooms on them. Not what I would expect at all when ordering a pizza pie. Cost was about $38 for two pies. On they heavy side of costs for what we received for a product. However we did love the trivia they had for free!!! read more

Turtle's has always been our go to beer bar south of the cities because they always seem to get the best beers on tap...that, and the prices on their food (especially burger Mondays) are fantastic. However, we had a major miscommunication last night as our Craftapped buy one, get one beer wasn't honored. We left upset, but the owner followed up with us afterwards and not only apologized, but gave us a refund and made sure to let their Craftapped partner know to ensure that patrons can use it for nearly all but the most expensive/exclusive beers. I was super impressed by his response and will be sure to stop by many more times in the future. My only remaining complaint is I wish they were closer to Rosemount! read more

Visiting from CA, you can't find a more respectable staff. Probably the reason it's been my lunch spot.

They got the best roast beef sandwich in the county and their breaded mushrooms set the standard for what breads mushrooms should be.

Two birds, one stone -- lunch at Turtle's (I'd heard of it) and then a stop at the consignment shop across the street (always described by its owner as "across the street from Turtle's). My companion has eaten at Turtle's before; I had not. I wasn't very hungry and my interest went to the lunch menu. I ordered the walleye sandwich and it was quite excellent! The kettle chips were crunchy as they could and should be. The Coke was delicious, too. LOL! The best part of all of this is that my total bill was $10 and change. I didn't mention that the walleye sandwich was a mere $7. Is that possible for walleye? Whatever it was, it was delicious. Service was good, too. You should go. read more

Should have stuck with the pizza, instead had the chicken and ribs. The ribs were pretty bad with a generic BBQ sauce, the potatoes were from a box, coleslaw was unbearable an the roll was crusty and nasty. The chicken was the only item that tasted any good and immediately after finishing had a stomach ache. I got home and did not feel well and spent an extended time in the bathroom. My eldest also felt ill and had to take a shower after his toilet bombing turned to the worst (he had the steak sandwich). I've been here once prior and remember the pizza being good but I would stay away from anything else. They do have portable gaming tabs on the tables that are free to use but the after ill effects can't make my review above a 1. read more

Solid. Locally owned...good craft beers on tap...solid burgers...good staff...where else ya gonna go in Shakopee? Update: this place has amazing pizza... And the specialty pizzas really are special... The hot Jordan... The bigmac pizza... Sauerkraut pizza... These are things that Jordan and the crew in the kitchen literally make special... and you can't find them anywhere else We have now gone here twice for their Easter brunch and for what you pay... Literally about $15-$16 a person... They have everything you could imagine for breakfast including Hall made omelettes... And their brunch part includes beef and turkey and ham and cheese filled noodles... It's really well done... And all their pastries come right from the Shakopee bakery Applebees is crowded with teenagers and crap beers! Give turtles a try! read more

My wife and I tried Turtles on a whim since we are fairly new residents of Shakopee. We were very disappointed in pretty much every aspect of our visit. The food was not very good. Our server was grumpy. The place is in serious need of cleaning and updating. My wife and I have both said to each other, simultaneously, that we won't be back. The leftovers we had, couldn't stomach much of it, was tossed in the trash bin outside before we got back to our car. If all you want to do is drink at the bar, Turtle's may just be fine for that. But if you're hungry, go elsewhere. Edited to add: I need to add that my wife had a buffalo chicken wrap. She said it tasted like a taco chicken wrap. I tried it. It tasted like they confused Cajun seasoning with taco seasoning. Worst. Wrap. Ever. read more

For a bar/sports bar, this place has fantastic food. Nothing gourmet, but very solidly executed american fare. Pizzas are always very good. The specials are always quite good. I'm never disappointed. That said, this place is a bar. They could use an overhaul of the decor, and more vigorous cleaning on a regular basis would do this place good. read more
