We stopped here after going to the Scarborough Renaissance Festival based on previous reviews. The place was not very busy on a mid-Saturday afternoon. We were promptly seated. We shared an Italian salad and it was enormous ($9.99). There was more than enough for 3 people and we took a lot home. Tons of toppings other than lettuce--beans, olives, tomatoes, peppers, cheese--it was a lot of food! My one complaint and the reason for 4 stars is that the lettuce seemed to come from a package and some of the pieces of lettuce seemed to be past their expiration date. We ordered the 14 inch margherita pizza for 3 to share and asked for thin crust ($15.99). It was the perfect size, not too much and not too little. When it was served the chef came out to say he did his best to make it as thin as possible. The pizza was beyond 5 stars! One of the best pizzas I ever had. The crust tasted freshly made. The toppings were super fresh and tasted great. The pizza was filling and light at the same time. I could eat that pizza everyday! Thank goodness I'm just passing through! My hotel and Yelp recommended this place. Please don't listen to them! Bruschetta's main ingredient is TOMATO not whatever else you decided might be a good idea. (see pictures) I did find whole cherry tomatoes cut in half uncooked on the Margarita pizza that I ordered to go because the 1000 pound sister surgery show was unappetizingly playing for over an hour as I waited that I KNEW I needed out! Was there recently, at one time in the past it was a great restaurant. The service was incredibly slow, and the general house keeping was horrible. While sitting at the bar there were inventory boxes sitting all over the bar. There were open containers of bar mix, and very dirty conditions on the bar floor and on counters. The service was lacking, our glasses sat empty waiting on someone to come and offer a refill of wine and beer. Even the dishes remained on the bar until we had paid the check. At one time it was a lively place to go have a drink and eat some great Italian food, but the bar side of the restaurant now seems very neglected. We made a reservation at Tuscan Slice recently, I asked about covid precautions prior to arrival and was assured that tables were being spread out or skipped. Unfortunately, when we arrived the restaurant was packed. They attempted to seat us in the middle of the restaurant with people seated at all surrounding tables. No social distancing what so ever. I reserved the large room for my husband's 61st birthday. All of our children and grandchildren were there. The staff was so attentive and patient. Wanted to like this place. Looking for a place to have a rehearsal dinner. It has western decor in an Italian space. Needs an update. The food tasted like something bought from Sam's or Costco. Chicken Madeira literally had no Madeira sauce and way too many onions thrown on top, it was just noodles onions and mushrooms. The crab cakes were chain store as is the gnocchi. We went during off hours so you'd think the service would've been great however our server was missing most of the time. Rather then keep it safe, I got their special pizza with pesto sauce, balsamic vinaigrette, chicken, tomatoes, and mozzarella. The pizza was a combination of sweet, tangy, savory. My hubby and I came here the other day with one of our good friends. They had recommended this spot and frequently visit for lunches and dinners. We were warmly welcomed and seated without a wait. Our waiter must have been new, because he didn't know some of the questions we asked (soup of day, specials, etc.). The hubby and I split the entree Ceaser salad (it was cheaper that way) and I got the spinach and chicken manicotti and the hubs got the lasagna. Well, it's strange because I've now been there twice but the 1st wasn't great. My parents and I ate there long ago and my mom was not at all happy with her veggie pizza- partly because it was pretty soggy and not very hot. I'm not interested in that kind of pizza so I had an all meat and it was...very bland. That's literally the best way I can describe it but I gave it another chance on St. Patrick's Day. This time I had the Alfredo pizza which had my favorite Italian white sauce, spinach, and chicken. I opted for no mushrooms. THAT pizza was very good and I really enjoyed it! The fried mozzarella was how I started and I have to say, they may be the best fried cheese sticks I've ever had! Excellent! And the pita bread or whatever it is that's covered in a terrific garlic butter is really good too! Zero complaints about my 2nd trip there and I'll give the all meat pizza a 2nd chance. read more

We have been in Waxahachie for 5 years. Tuscan slice was the best place to eat in the city hands down. The service was always slow and unorganized but the food was good. Unfortunately the service has gotten no better if not worse and after today I can say the food was below average also. Today's visit... ordered sweet tea was given an unsweet tea. No biggie it happens. I ordered a pizza extra crispy. It comes out in about five minutes and the cheese is barely melted and the mushrooms were completely raw. Sons kids meal came out about five minutes after mine undercooked as well. Wife's baked ziti was cooked correctly but the sauce had a metallic taste like it was out of a can. Hopefully they can get their wheels back on. I will stay away for awhile. read more
