Omg! One of the best gluten-free pizzas I have ever had. The caprese which is fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinaigrette and tomatoes and basil. Food is good. Bread is hit or miss lately. Usually it's soft and garlic butter glistening but tonight is was crispy thin like pita chips. Server didn't seem to understand they were not typical, so he was either new or had never tried the bread? Service is also hit or miss, last two times it was a miss. Recommend the pizza because the dough is really good. Pasta dishes are also good. Soups are tasty and original. Panini's also fresh made. Definitely worth going back. I have had pizza as well as pasta here and everything has been good but not outstanding. The Pepperoni Rolls were just okay. I probably wouldn't get them again. One word ..... PRICELESS! Trevor was our waiter, who was super helpful, well knowledge, kind, and had an awesome overall personality. He carried himself well and spoke highly of the restaurant letting us (my coworkers) know that the restaurant gave consistent good food. The ambiance is very nice for it to be connected to other shops. And they have wood stacked on the side... but it's because they are actually using the wood for their oven! I had a make your own pizza. The mozzarella was so fresh on the pizza as well as on the caprese that I ordered as a starter. The mushrooms were delicious!!! Dessert was so sweet but I loved it!!! Try the smore pizza if you have a major sweet tooth! Marshmallows are golden brown across the top, they use nutella and chocolate drizzle, the pizza is a fries dough that is nice and soft . It was okay... My blood sugar is really low and I need to eat and I didn't want to eat fast food. When I got here he gave me a basket full of very tasty garlic bread pieces, they were like leftover dough rolled out and then painted with garlic butter. But they were cold. I think they would be very delicious if warm. But they were OK cold. I ordered the pepperoni roll appetizer, which was kind of tiny for 12 bucks and was very greasy. But the taste was OK. The pizza was a lady margarita. And it was tasty and it was good value for $14 in a 10 inch. My problem is I can't at 12:30 during the lunch rush and there was the slowest service on the planet. And I don't think it's because the servers are bad I think it's just because everyone that few of them here in the restaurant. But that's kind of normal nowadays. Waxahachie isn't a particularly big town, and when you're in the market to visit restaurants mid-evening on a weekend, the pickings can be a bit slim. Tuscan Slice stays open late enough that we could get in with our group, and the food was good enough that we came back again for more. Like, really quite good. The bread was a great place to start, and you'll likely find yourself ordering more once you've finished the basket. Great flavor, great crustiness, and it's fantastic when you dip it in a bit of marinara sauce. Or your leftover white sauce from your pasta; that's definitely worth a try as well. You won't be disappointed. I made the decision to substitute the normal sauce on the gnocchi for the white sauce and with the spicy sausage, it came out absolutely amazing. Between the friendly service even "late at night" (by local standards, apparently 8pm is "late") and the great food, I'll be back next time I'm through Waxahachie. Drink service was punctual and the selection was pretty good, so we had a wonderful well-rounded meal that I'm quite looking forward to repeating. read more
