Because we were flying on an international flight where dinner would be served, we opted for a drink and light meal of shared plates. Our salad was large and well dressed with a nice variety of fresh vegetables, cici beans and cheese. The fried calamari was over done -- either the oil was too hot or the squid was in the fryer for longer than necessary. It was edible but not the best. I stopped in here while on a layover in Terminal B in ORD for an early lunch. I was greeted and sat immediately, and the hostess was friendly. My order was taken quickly, and I ordered an iced tea and caesar salad. The salad came quickly and was very good, with the lettuce being fresh and not wilty at all. It was nice having a normal Italian restaurant feel that didn't feel like it was in the middle of an airport, especially nice if you have a long layover and want to relax and have a break from the airport atmosphere. The prices are airport prices though, as a caesar salad was a bit more expensive than you'd expect at a normal restaurant (more than $20). When ready to leave, it took a while to get my check and it seems that there was a bit of confusion in this. It took a while for the server to come by and ask if I wanted my check. I finally stopped someone to ask if I pay at the table or up front, and she said the other waitress would come by with my check. After a few minutes she talked to the other server, and brought my check after a little bit. The service was good before this, though it may be a problem if you are in a rush for a flight. This might be worse if the restaurant is busier too, as I was one of less than ten tables I believe. If in ORD on a long layover again I may stop, but I may sit at the bar for faster service or stop at the grab and go counter. read more

I was seated promptly to a very quiet hostess. My seat was next to the entrance of their kitchen which lead to the porters standing over me while I waited or was eating. Made for a very uncomfortable experience. The lighting was bright and the seating was cramped but expected from an airport eatery. To my displeasure the pizza looked like it came from the freezer section from a local grocery store. It tasted as if it was hatched from a freezer and blasted in a poorly calibrated oven. I believe red baron pizza tastes about the same as this. The table nearby had a burger that looked pretty delicious. Worst airport food I've ever had, and that's saying something. Had a breakfast on a Sunday morning. Espresso machine was broken, so drip coffee. Got a veggie omelet, and wow I can't believe they call it an omelet. It was basically a single crepe with some pre-chopped frozen bell peppers and mushrooms. You know the type of veggies that I mean. Because of that they were soggy and mushy and made the whole thing watery. When I say it was a crepe, it was so flat that the toast and potatoes were twice the thickness. The frozen veg basically drove past an egg on the highway. The potatoes must have been pre-cooked and reheated and then left under the heat lamps. They were dehydrated except for the soggy bottom from all of the water coming off the "omelet". Service was fine, ambiance was fake fancy with tablecloth on tables but paper covering them up so they don't get dirty and menu headers in Italian give off cheap and cheesy "Mama Mia!!'" vibes. Never thought I'd be giving an airport restaurant four stars but here I go. Located in Terminal 1, in an enclave at the very end of the concourse, beside a Hudson newsstand, there it awaits. A calm oasis amongst the crowds and chaos of the Chicago O'Hare airport. This restaurant is a little more spacious and a little more peaceful (while we were there anyway) than their competition whose conventional environments are tight, crowded and noisy. The tables were even covered in checkered tablecloths. Jeez! Can you believe I tasted some of the best pasta I've had anywhere? Sure did! It wasn't even a pasta dish but merely a side to their delicious, generously portioned chicken Parmesan which was unbelievably delicious. There were 2 portions of chicken on the plate. It could easily have been split between two people. The accompanying pasta which I am so enamored with, was fresh, unsauced, but buttered and sprinkled with herbs and man oh man, was it good! Never had anything like it. It was light and perfectly cooked. I couldn't get it into my mouth fast enough. They also serve you Ciabatta with a fresh mound of Parmesan cheese and every table has a large bottle of olive oil on it. Husband had the sausage and peppers, another winner! Our meals were 22 and 19. We also had a bottle of pellegrino and one glass of wine and with tip, it came to 71.00. Service was good, but not great. Our waitress never came to check on us or offer me another glass of wine but the food came out quickly which is a plus when you're catching a flight. Great waitress. She was really attentive and had quite a few tables to attend. That being said, everything was pretty slow, thank goodness I wasn't in a hurry. I got a glass of wine and chicken and zucchini which actually was pretty good for airport food. Chicken breast wasn't overly dry and they just cooked it, I can tell fresh chicken from reheated. My husband ordered fettuccini took about 15 minutes to get enough sauce to be kinda moist he said it was really bland it was $17 & did not even come with a salad!!!! DO NOT ORDER THE FRITTATA!!! I came here for breakfast before my flight in hopes to avoid eating the nasty and expensive plane food. The frittatas here at Tuscany are obviously prepared in the microwave and I was not even sure whether or not it contained real eggs. For something that I had to wait 20 minutes for, it was a huge disappointment and certainly no better, and yet more expensive, than what you get on the plane. Furthermore, I noticed an outright scam on their drink menu. Drinks without alcohol have clearly listed prices next to them. However, drinks with alcohol DO NOT have the prices listed next to them at all; and when I asked my waiter for the actual prices, they were simply outrageously expensive. So if someone orders an alcoholic drink without inquiring on its cost, he/she should be prepared to be stuck paying between $10 to $25 for a single 8oz alcoholic drink. THIS IS NOT RIGHT, IT IS DECEPTIVE, AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!!! Any reputable restaurant should clearly list the prices for ALL items on the menu! read more
