We've lived in Evergreen for one year. Tuscany has been the "go to" place for great food, great service and consistency. Just learned that they celebrated their 15th year in business. I can see why. Real Italian food with tasty sauces and plenty of options to quench the pickiest pallet. Have had all chicken dishes and most of the pastas. Never been let down. read more

With the limited restaurant choices in Evergreen, it was nice to find this place. I was craving some italian food, and didn't want to drive down the hill, so I ordered some take out calzones. Pulled up, they were ready and they were delicious! I'm no expert but I think the dough was hand made. A touch pricey, but worth it so I dont have to drive down the hill. I was visiting friends in Evergreen & they suggested the Tuscany Tavern for dinner. I can't speak to the internal atmosphere as we dined al fresco. Very pleasant on the patio!! Weather permitting it will be my choice for future visits. Great selection of Italian dishes & seafood. The salads were fresh, crisp, and served on a chilled salad plate along with some pretty good Italian bread w/garlic butter. My veal marsala was excellent, and my friends seemed to thoroughly enjoy their steak & shrimp dishes. Can't wait to go back & sample more from their generous dinner menu. read more

Made a reservation...thankfully! It was packed on a Saturday night-7:30...prime time. I thought it MUST be good. It was not good. Ordered the Mediterranean pasta-dry, but acceptable since I'm dieting anyway. Added shrimp for $3...the price should have tipped me off. I couldn't even eat them they were so terrible. Waitress took them off my bill. Husband ordered blackened salmon which he said was good, but it was served w no sauce or garnish. Bad presentation. And anyone who knows Italian food expects an artistic and delicious experience. Blah. Kids' meals looked fine, and they finished most of their meals (although our food didn't come out for an hour after we ordered so they were 'starved'). Bread was alright, although our server was a such a slacker she needed a lot of support from the hostess and bussers-the hostess carried out extra bread for us using a paper beverage napkin-? Seriously! It was all very unprofessional. Thank God it was dark and I couldn't see how dirty the place may have been. We won't be back unless forced to do so. They should at least aim to be in the same category as Macaroni Grill...I can't believe I'm saying that. Overall, most of the food was edible and if our server had been more interactive she may have been able to save our experience, but it was clear she hates working there and doesn't know how to enhance a visitors experience. Service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. The soup of the day was a beer, ham and cheese soup. Neither my husband or I could finish because it was overly salted. I originally ordered a Mediterranean pasta dish. I am sure the dish tasted the way it was supposed to, but I just didn't care for it. If I didn't have an olive in the bite it had no real flavor. This place is pretty much Olive Garden without the never ending bread or salad. I've tried this spot a few times hopping I would have an experience that would change my mind. Please please please do not go here. If zero stars were an option I would've chosen that. There is nothing redeeming about this place. The service was...fine. Friendly staff, but not knowledgeable. I ordered the pork chop and the waitress came back to tell me it was frozen. I asked what entrée wasn't from a frozen product and she shrugged her shoulders and said "well a lot are..." Well that's promising. I then ordered eggplant al forno. The eggplant was tough, under cooked, greasy and inedible. The waitress empathized with me by apologizing. My husband ordered pasta with vegetables, but the vegetables were from a generic frozen mix bag. Flavorless. Our party ordered margarita pizza bread. Literally French bread with sporadic cheese. No basil. Isn't that cheese bread then? My sister was so sick when we got home. She had shrimp organata. Pure oil...it was hard to look at let alone eat. Great stop. We stopped in on an early Friday afternoon. We were just coming to have a snack and a drink so we sat at the bar. Christy was behind the bar and provided great service. We ate shrimp chowder that was fantastic. We had bread and butter served with the chowder that was hot, fresh and delicious. The place had a good feel and a patio with a great view. We will certainly return and we highly recommend the place. read more

Brought my 7 year old son here last night as a special treat. The Seafood Marinara was delicious and the kids meal HUGE! Perhaps, more importantly though, was the community feel in this place. There was a nice older gentleman at the bar that went our of his way to make this restaurant special for everyone. He stood up and thanked every guest. He noted my son was a baseball fan and cheered on the Rockies with him. I found out later that this was the owner. He really made our "date" special and I am excited to return to an establishment with great food but also such a welcoming atmosphere...five stars read more

We came back for dinner last week and it was a huge disappointment compared to our previous visit. I ordered the chicken parmesan with a side of angel hair pasta. What I received looked like someone else's leftovers. Two paper-thin, dried out chicken breasts with some nasty gummy coating which I can only assume were breadcrumbs, and topped with a dark red pasty "sauce". The angel hair was overcooked and swimming in something oily (no sauce). I think the chicken was made a long time ago, frozen and reheated in the microwave. Gack. Never again. read more

We stopped in here and ordered to go. The staff was incredibly friendly and offered us some bread and butter while we waited. I had a glass of wine while we waited for our food. The food is so good. I ordered the chicken parmesan and it was so worth it! I would definitely come back here. I believe they have outside seating which has a gorgeous view of a lake and the mountains. Great atmosphere and patio, the staff was nice and attentive. I had the special, rockfish with mash potatoes, which was wonderfully prepared and full of flavor. We haven't been to this restaurant for several years so decided to give it a try last night - what a mistake. The service was good and the waitress was friendly but the food was absolutely terrible. My wife had the eggplant parm- the eggplant was from frozen patties and they put a half melted slice of provolone cheese on top and the side of penne was severely over cooked. I am Italian and have been to thousands of Italian restaurants around the world and can honestly say that I have never seen anyone use a slice of provolone on any Parmesan dish - disgusting! I had one of the penne dishes - again severely over cooked and mushy. The red sauce on everything was sweet and overlooked. We also had two glasses of wine and it was obvious that the bottle had been open for a long time and the wine was oxidized. The waitress was kind enough to open a fresh bottle and take these off our receipt. We won't be back and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that has had half decent Italian food before. read more

We had a straight up bad experience here! To start with, it took over 40 minutes to get our toddlers food which I ordered as soon as we arrived. We received water and warm bread, but it took over 20 minutes before we actually got our drink order. We finally got our toddlers dinner and it was still another 15 minutes until we received ours, and we never received our salads. To sadly agree with a few of the other reviews, the meal was mediocre. My husband ordered the spaghetti and Italian sausage and I had the seafood fettuccine. They were both pretty tasteless as well as very small portions for the price! The comment that our waitress made when we had to leave as soon as we received our meals was that she was sorry it took so long but that we had arrived when a lot of people had just ordered. Due to the horrible service (we sat with empty water glasses for over half the time spent there) to the ridiculous amount of time for our unimpressive meals to arrive, the sorry reason for all of the above and the price, we will mostly definitely not return or ever recommend this place. read more

I have visited my family numerous times over the years and always ended up "traveling" a good distance, for authentic tasting Italian food. My husband and I just moved back to Evergreen and we won't be traveling for wonderful Italian food with outstanding service! The Scaloppini was amazing- full of flavor without leaving you feeling weighed down. Portions are generous but not outrageous. I'm almost afraid to sing too many praises for fear of not being able to get a table the next time we go- which will be soon and often! Pricing is also very reasonable.... Don't know that I can come up with many more superlatives...GO!!!!! read more

I've been here twice because I think everyone deserves a second chance. I will not return a third time. Service is pathetically slow. We had to wait to be seated because the gal was entering an order. Our server took our drink order and wandered around for a while before bringing what we ordered (coffee). She offered us bread but wandered around for a while and we had to ask for the bread she originally offered us. Then we had to ask how long it would be to get our meals. We've been here 45 minutes. Last night had dinner here and was fine until the dinner entree came. I ordered the chicken piccatta and was sorely disappointed. After the first two bites could not even stomach the taste. Pasta tasted like paste with very cheap olive oil. The chicken was small and so bottle lemony. Capers were very tasteless. My husband ordered chicken Parmesan and I ate some of the chicken with the one tablespoon of sauce and cheese it had. Was very dry but tasty. My son order a Stromboli and liked it. They should stick with the little less pricey dishes or get a chef that knows Italian food. The appetizer of cheese and apples was very tasty other than the fact that the apples were thin cut and only five were serves, must have run out of apples? Salad was delicious with bleu cheese dressing. Server was attentive and friendly. $80.00 wash in our eyes. Overall experience not good. read more

Meant to write this a couple of months ago but was thinking about returning and remembered the experience. While the service was good - it was almost too good - waiters and bus boys hovering around your table - I felt like if I put my fork down for a second my plate would be whisked away. Food was ok and our server Sarah was very sweet but we could have done without the heaving dosing of perfume she was wearing. It was so strong that I could taste it - in fact I believe some of it rubbed off on my plate from her wrist/hand. So nothing personal about her but lose the perfume - it isn't necessary in a restaurant! read more

Visited Tuscany Tavern again last night after our first visit over a year ago. We won't make the mistake of waiting so long to go enjoy the great food, atmosphere and superb hometown hospitality. Our first visit to TT was the evening I proposed to my wife, and we visited last night on our first wedding anniversary. We were seated in a secluded spot on the back patio overlooking a small lake which was just perfect for our anniversary dinner. Our server was excellent; quick to respond to special requests, on the spot without hovering, and very nice. She even put up with us asking her to take pictures for us! We had the surf-and-turf special and the scallops with risotto, and it was all excellent! Well prepared and very tasty, and wasn't left hovering under heat laps. It was almost as if our server was waiting for our food to come up and brought it out right away. For dessert we had the ice cream and espresso. We mentioned to our server that it was our anniversary when we asked her to take pictures for us, and she and the owner were very nice, taking care of dessert and our wine for us. It's so nice to have such a great place in Evergreen! We were so taken with our experience that Tuscany Tavern just earned two more regulars! Never going back! I have been going there for a few years, but as of late it has gone down. Quality of the food is my big issue. Service is good but portions are small, come on its pasta. This place is horrible. Horrible. It only exists because when hungry and lazy, the last thing the Evergreen population wants to do is drive down the hill for (halfway) decent Italian. I have eaten here three times once because I was genuinely curious, the second time because I was in disbelief, and the third time because I was desperate. There will not be a fourth mistake on my part. The first was take out. I ordered the eggplant rolatini with a side of broccoli. I received two rolatini, each no longer than 2.5" and 1" in diameter. This is nothing, folks. There was more steamed frozen broccoli than actual entree. My second experience was ordering a pizza take out. How can they skimp on a pizza, right? Hoping for the best, I picked up a custom pie with feta, jalapeño and pineapple toppings. When we got home and opened the box, the ENTIRE pizza was slathered with feta cheese. There was no mozzarella. Just 1lb of feta. I don't even think a Greek could eat that! It was disgusting. They did exchange it for one made correctly, but i had to drive all the way back there and I wasnt comped for my troubles. On my third, desperate patronage of this place, my pasta was delivered sitting in a good half inch of water. This place belongs on the Food Networks Restaurant Impossible. I would love to see Robert Irvines face when experiencing the food and the service. read more

Where to start? The service was so slow that we forgot what we wanted to order by the time she finally came to take our order. I ordered Eggplant al Forno and my husband ordered lasagna with side salads. After she gave us the salad, she asked if we wanted any bread and we told her we did. The salad barely had any dressing, like 3 drops, but she didn't come back so I ate the dry lettuce. Way after we were finished with the salad, she shows up with a very white tiny loaf of dough. It wasn't cooked through at all, complete dough. We told her and she laughed and took it away saying she'd bring more. Our food came and my husband's lasagna was tiny and unfortunately not good at all he said. He left part of it which I've never seen him do. My eggplant al forno was eggplant parmigiana. I waited and waited and waited for her to come back but she didn't so I started to give up and just eat what I had. I was 4 bites into it when she came back and I told her it was the wrong order and she laughed again and told me she'd give me some money off the ticket but she couldn't do much because I had already eaten it. I almost laughed at my very near full plate of food. She didn't offer to get me the right eggplant either. After that, she brings yet another piece of uncooked dough to our table and our check at the same time. Good grief, really? read more
