Just had lunch at the TT. I ordered the Quattro Formaggio Pasta and my wife had the cheese ravioli with red sauce. First the bread was fresh and warm and the compound butter was tasty. I added a salad which tasted fresh. As for the pastas, my 4 cheese was very disappointing. The sauce tasted like a basic béchamel sauce (Google it) with no cheese flavor and no seasoning. I even added salt (which I almost never do). It was watery and pooled below the pasta. My wife's pasta which I tasted was just as bland. It tasted like canned tomato sauce with no added spice (couldn't even see any sign of oregano added). The waitress had previously described it as a lite red sauce. We didn't that meant lite on flavor. The ravioli was similarly devoid of flavor. I've been here in past years and remember a decent if not good meal. Not sure what's going on with the kitchen staff or management but won't be returning anytime soon. Also note the the owner does not respond to any reviews-take this as a big red flag. read more

Wonderful place. My acid test for Italian is to order a sore of meatballs; they were excellent. The sausage as well. We had a Mediterranean pasta dish with kalamata olives and feta along with garlic, sundried tomatoes, artichokes. So good. Great wine. And a shockingly delicious simple dessert of scoop vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate syrup and a shot of excellent espresso poured over it. Wow. read more

Good food. Good service. Good atmosphere. But NOT DOG FRIENDLY. I had my dog on the patio at 4 pm on a weekday. She was barking at people a little bit but I was working on it with her. I was just about to move my dog to the far side of the table to see if she would chill out when I heard a snobby condescending voice say behind my back, "This just does not work for me." I ignored her because I had no idea she was talking to me. I continued to push my dog down into a submissive position and tell her to be calm. Then the snobby voice can closer and said, "You need to remove your dog right now. He (actually a she) is clearly very protective of you." She didn't offer empathy or assistance like I think most Evergreen restaurant owners with patios would. Something about her personality just made me so mad that I took my dog and drove away. I am an honest person normally but I don't care that I didn't pay for the beer I drank. They probably had to give my unfinished order of food to an employee, too. I only feel badly for the server. Ok it was getting late in the day and we had a softball team from Northern Virginia in a 12 passenger van and we needed to feed these kids before we started a long drive back to Fort Collins. So we went to YELP for some advice on where we could find some good Italian food. We read the review and decided on this place. It was 30 minutes before they closed but the owner and waitress could not have been more accommodating. He first provided all the girls with drinks and salad. The salad which was excellent was on him. The food and service was perfect and we feed an entire softball team without a hitch. I highly recommend this place not just for the food but the service was excellent. read more

Do not waste your time or money here! If I could give it zero stars I would. I really want to give local restaurants my support, but my experience here was HORRENDOUS. First of all, the service is beyond painfully slow. Though the staff is nice, it takes an obnoxious amount of time for food to come out. There were probably 5 occupied tables in the whole place and it still took an HOUR to get a soup and salad. Calling the food mediocre would be giving undue credit. Everything is bland and gross. You couldn't pay me to go back to this restaurant and I'm surprised they can keep their doors open. read more

We really enjoy Tuscany Tavern. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, the staff friendly and efficient, and the owner is present and cares about his clients and food. Even during their rush times, we have had great service, and were kept informed. In good weather the outdoor patio is very pleasant. Food - delicious! The food is fresh with tasty ingredients, nice portions. We have had stuffed shells, ravioli, lasagna, carbonara, and the chicken picotta (in lemon caper sauce). All are excellent. And sometimes we get a pizza, and consider it our favorite pizza in town - sauce is well flavored, the toppings are fresh, and the Italian sausage well spiced . Crust is a perfect texture. They have a very nice selection of wines, have discovered some new favorites by trying these. read more

HOW DOES THIS PLACE STAY OPEN?...Because it's in Evergreen and when your on an Island ANYTHING sounds good. Pretty sure the on-site owner never reads these reviews cuz he needs to start all over. Service has always been just iffy, especially with the attitude behind the bar, but the food never reaches any level of quality Italian fare at all. Spaghetti-O's in a can has more flavor. We keep trying-being on an island - to find something worth returning for but every time they disappoint - tonights' carry-out had the overly salty beer cheese soup in a small styrofoam cup, bruchetta without the topping on it, and the driest lasagna I've ever had. POOR QUALITY FOOD ~ OVER PRICED ~ The menu stated the calzone came with sausage and pepperoni. There was no pepperoni to be found in my calzone, instead there were large chunks of bell pepper and large chunks of onion, (they don't dice here). The calzone lacked flavor and ingredients. The house salad was small, consist of a bit of lettuce, one small piece of tomato, one small slice of cucumber and a little cheese. It too was tasteless. The small loaf bread served with the salad was warm, but without flavor. No Italian spices added, just baked dough. Tuscany Tavern has been in Evergreen for at least 10 years. Unfortunately I was less than impressed by my last visit. The restaurant needs a make-over. For example the door leading to the terrace needs painting. The outside tables are inconsistent and the cheap plastic furniture is uncomfortable. The umbrellas are from Home Depot and don't do any sort of justice to a Tuscan-like atmosphere. I had the Pasta Aribiata, which was 70% sauce and 30% pasta. Never in Italy have I seen a smoked chipolte pepper used as a spice. My wife's simple pasta dish drowned in butter and was completely over garliced. If it wasn't for the friendly service, Tuscany Tavern would rate one star. read more

Every so often we find ourselves in Evergreen around dinner time and have no idea where to dine. Heading north on Hwy 73 last week I noticed quite a few cars around the stop light next to Tuscany Tavern. We turned in and looked at the menu - prices seemed reasonable. It was warm that evening and we just finished rowing and walking around Evergreen Lake so I was not in the mood for a heavy Italian meal. I ordered the Cobb Salad was it was easily one of the best ever. All the ingredients were super fresh and tasty. A very nice touch was the addition of a little minced basil - it gave the salad a kick and some mystery. My wife ordered a small pizza which she said was excellent. The service was outstanding, from the hostess to the waitress to the bus personnel. If you're lucky to nab one of the five tables on the outdoor patio you will be rewarded with beautiful view of the small lake nearby. This is a magic spot on a warm summer evening. read more

I have popped in a couple of times, always giving this place a second chance. My waitress didn't have anything to say when I complained about a brown avocado on my Cobb salad. She proceeded to take off the avocado and said she would bring a new one. Never did. Instead, Maria (a host I'm assuming) very apologetically brought us out some more avocado in a jiffy. She was the only one who seemed to know how to do her job. But overall, very disappointed. Can't say I will go back. read more

I moved from Denver 2 weeks ago to Evergreen and saw Tuscany Tavern en route to my new home and decided to stop. I was so pleased with my decision. I have lived in North Denver for years and have not been that impressed with the Italian in the big D. N. Denver was once the old Italian hood so it harbors many o Italian restaurants. When a I asked if we could wait until the appetizer was served before we ordered the entree she told me that she would allow it only because they weren't busy. Worst food in years. Beet and goat cheese salad. $12.95 3 Julienne pieces of beet, 2 pencil eraser size pieces of goat cheese. Crab cakes were worst I've ever tasted. Old and nasty. Full of bread crumbs with a hint of old fish. Not even sure it was crab. Hope we don't get sick. "Risotto" was no way arborio rice. Had to pre-order on Thursday for a meal on Sunday for our "big group" of 12 at 5:30. Nobody in the restaurant. A real joke. Scampi was 4 small shrimp with no flavor over a bed of over cooked angel hair with no flavor as well, Added 20% gratuity on to our bill; usually no problem if the service and food is adequate for a group. We live in NW Denver (i.e. several great Italian places), but were in Evergreen for a bike ride up Squaw Pass. Now it might have helped that were were starving after our ride, but we had a great Sunday afternoon experience at Tuscany Tavern. Our server was a sweet young woman who was attentive and friendly. Both of our dishes were generous portions and delicious. I had the Cioppino which was full of all kinds of seafood and had a very tasty and nicely spicy sauce. My wife has her favorite, Italian Sausage sub, that was huge, also very delicious. We will be back for sure! read more

To start with....NO Happy Hour! A small glass of wine is $6.50 which wouldn't be so bad if it hadn't been so small. My husband and I ordered the calamari and split the cobb salad. Tuscany Tavern serves consistently good pasta. They have a decent wine list and their service is always friendly and efficient. My favorite entrée is the seafood pasta and their bread is awesome. Another good thing is that a small salad is included with each entrée. We have lived in the foothills for 10 years and Tuscany is always one of our favorite alternatives to driving "down the mountain" to a chain restaurant. Food is good but pretty aggravated that we called in a to-go order for family style meatballs. We did this once before for 10 meatballs for $20 and it was great, but today they decided to charge $30 for the order. We live nearby and have eaten here a couple of times. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is fine, but the service is not great. Tonight we went in for dinner and walked out after a good 10-15 minutes went by without anyone coming to our table. The three servers in the dining room (which isn't terribly large) kept walking past our table, but we weren't given menus or even acknowledged. We had two little kids with us, so I was curious if we were getting ignored because they didn't think we would spend much (we would have bought a bottle of wine...how else does one survive two kids under two?). Overall it was very frustrating and I'm not sure we will go back. I haven't been super impressed with the service in the past and tonight was the proverbial nail in the coffin. It's just too much work to load up a family and get to a restaurant just to have to turn around and leave because you've been ignored. read more

My kids really like this place and I love that they've added GF items to their menu. It's a really pretty setting, especially when you can eat outside.
