I am reviewing this after hosting a bachelorette dinner in the private room for 18 guests. Event set up: 5/5 Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Tuscany Tavern. Setting up the dinner was really easy, and Erin, the woman I spoke with throughout the process, was prompt, professional, and patient. 5 stars for her. They did not charge me to rent the room, which was a huge bonus and money saver. Service: 3/5 We had 1 server for 18 people. Granted, it was buffet style, so she didn't have to deliver food, only drinks. I had to find her to take drink orders, she kept serving incorrect drinks to incorrect people, and didn't clear plates as we were eating. It was kind of serving 101 stuff she was messing up on, but she was friendly and seemed to be trying. Food: 5/5 We ordered the bruschetta, Mediterranean pasta, and quattro formaggio chicken pasta. Bruschetta and Mediterranean pasta were delectable and I envision myself craving these dishes. Quattro formaggio on the other hand was flavorless, bland, and just gross. Overall: 4/5 When I tried to book with other restaurants, their response time was very slow, I didn't hear back from them, or they required a booking fee to have dinner there. My husband and I went here on a whim while we were staying in Evergreen. It was a very pleasant surprise. The antipasto platter was so very good. The fresh bread tasted fantastic and soft. The chicken picatta was prepared just right and the sauted spinach...drool.... The stuffed pork chop though was slightly undercooked. I know that it is difficult when filling a meat product but, I believe that erring on the side of caution would be best. Dessert and coffee were tasty too. Soup was so so, salad served with unripe tomatoes, antipasto plate was skimpy on roasted veggies, and included mustard This was not in the discription and 2 of us are allergic to mustard. Canned roasted red peppers, no eggplant, too thick salami. Canned beans appeared to be used in the bean soup. The bread was wonderful. My daughter very much enjoyed the chicken picatta. The lamb chops were grilled perfectlly. The lasanga was lacking cheese, the sauce tasted commercially prepared. Cheese stuffed eggplant needed ricotto. My pasta was crispy, apparently having been held under the heat lamp. Nothing special here to make us want to go back. read more

One star is being extremely generous. The food was terrible, and the presentation was a joke, very subpar and generic for the prices they charge. Calamari was gross, pre-frozen nastiness. The Marsala sauce had ZERO Marsala wine in it, and it tasted like a sweet turkey gravy. Their Arrabbiata sauce lacked flavor, and to top it off the service was terrible. The wait was entirely too long just to get our wine, and when we complained about our dishes, the waitress didn't even ask if we would like to try something else. The only thing good was their steak, and how they decorated the place. And, with only one bite taken from each dish, the waitress only knocked off the price of one of the dishes. If you appreciate good Italian food and decent service, avoid this place like the plague. Seriously. read more

Wow, what happened? We dine here often and have always had solid service with good food. Tonight was different, with the service and food being way off standard. Our server was very inattentive and the meals came out exceptionally slow, with a range of quality. My wife's meal was average, but the mashed potatoes were half hot and half cold like they were microwaved. My meal was only lukewarm and quite flavorless. Our daughter had a Cobb salad with grilled chicken that had obviously been cooked long ago. Hard to understand why things were so off tonight since the restaurant was only about 3/4 full. read more

Heard good things about this place and decided to try it. Very disappointing. Not worth a return visit. First, salad lettuce was room temperature. Lasagna was mushy to say the least. Sent it back and ordered spaghetti thinking hard to mess up. Wrong. Noodles weren't properly drained so meal was like spaghetti soup. $45 Market Price for scallops and risotto. This plate had 4 small to medium sized sea scallops around a dollop of risotto. For $45. Scallops appeared to be steamed and were so overcooked they were inedible. read more

We came for dinner while visiting friends last week. It would definitely not be a repeater for me, even if I lived in the neighborhood. I think it might be okay for a beer at the large bar area. Waitstaff seems young, inexperienced, and despite the fact there were a lot of them considering the number of tables, quite harried. My friend's cutlery was dirty with baked on spaghetti sauce, which kind of got us off to a bad start, but I tried not to let it taint the experience. We ordered drinks: 1 gin martini up for me,1 each unusual beer (don't remember the name) for the men with me. It was unusually warm that day, and the dining room, though quite dark, felt just as hot as the outside had been all day. Courses came slowly, and our server seemed annoyed, but kept a toothy grin pasted on the whole time. Our Food: I had a green salad, which was okay, but the dressing (creamy Italian) tasted like thinned mayo. Followed that with veal marsala. I thought that would be pretty safe, since it's classic. The kitchen did well on sauteeing the veal, which is probably the trickiest part, although the portion was a tiny two scallops (not pounded, so too thick), about 4-5 oz.. The sauce tasted slightly of marsala (good), but not much else, and I could count the mushroom slices on one hand. Now I am a self-confessed mushroom lover, but by anyone's standards it was sparse. The selection for sides was good and along with the standards, potatoes and rice, offered broccoli and "sauteed spinach". I picked the spinach, thinking, spinach leaves sauteed in olive oil and garlic (Tuscan, right) and instead I got what was clearly frozen spinach that had simply been warmed. N. got the nightly special, which was tilapia sauteed with herbs and the broccoli, which also looked frozen. He like it, but he also counts Subway as his favorite lunch place, so not sure if he's a good taster for my senses. T had a steak salad. He said it was okay, but he was very hot and cranky, so not sure. The steak slices looked as if they were cooked just right, but again the wimpy dressing. A had his usual pepperoni pizza, almost always gets it when available, he said, "Eh it was all right; I was not really that impressed. N. picked up the tab, so I can only estimate that with drinks it was probably close to $100 for the 4 of us. Not that high, but value wasn't good because the food lacked. Go back? I REALLY want this place to be better because it's convenient and the only Italian restaurant nearby. We've been her several times for happy hour and dinner. The snacks in the bar are generally good but there isn't much variety or anything new. The bruschetta is consistently good. The dinner menu is never exciting. The food is good, but covered in butter and oil. It may be authentic, but it's much too rich and just not appetizing. They do have a nice bar and good wine list. Lots of TVs to watch whatever "game of the century" is being played at the moment. The crowd is usually fun and the staff is friendly. My favorite part of the whole experience? The free mints on the way out. This is one of those places where you want to grab two handfuls and stuff them in your pockets -hoping the hostess doesn't spot you and chase you out the door. read more

An enjoyable evening. The service was very good and the food was good with nice size portions. Not to much and not too little.

Some restaurants deserve a second chance, unfortunately this one does not. Service: Three staff members saw us waiting, none gave us eye contact or greeted us in any way until I waylaid one and asked if this was a seat yourself kind of place. Once seated, service was unbelievably slow on both the wait staff's part as well as an amazingly long wait for the food itself. Every question we asked of our wait staff about the food was met with blank stares. "How long have you worked here?" we asked, wondering if it was her first week. "A year," was her astonishing reply. I had to get up and ask where to pay at the end of the meal after we had waited at our table way to long to have our credit card swiped. Food: The bread which preceeded our meal was actually good, although unusual. I wondered if it was bread that hadn't risen that day as it was flat bread. It was tasty and edible. Which could not be said of the soup. The daily special soup was tomato steak. It was inedible. It tasted like a can of hunt's tomato sauce with a piece of meat thrown in. Just no depth of flavor, waaay too tomatoey, and just to make it toxic, there was some chemical taste in the flavor profile...dish soap perhaps? It was definitely not edible. Our server was so late getting back to our table that everyone was finished with that course, so I simply asked for a salad to go. The eggplant parm was edible, as was the chicken parm. These were subpar and reminiscent of the old frozen Banquet TV dinners in quality. My fetticinni alfredo was granular--a definite rookie cooking mistake--as well as not being particularly tasty. There was another eggplant dish recommended by our waitress. There was not enough light on the outside area to see our food, so we could't really see what the dish consisted of, and we certainly couldn't figure it out by taste. It was barely edible and not tasty in any way. All in all, when both service and food are awful, we will not be revisiting this restaurant and I only give it one star. read more

Stopped in to Tuscany Tavern for a quick lunch on our way down the mountain. Our server Sarah was fantastic. It was actually the best service I have received at any restaurant in several years. She was sweet, prompt, and quick to refill our empty water glasses. The house salad was fresh and crispy and their homemade dressings were delicious. The fresh baked bread and herb butter had us eating more carbs then we planned for the day, but it was so worth it. We left happy and with full bellies, and a sweet treat to eat later. After mtn biking we popped in here to grab a bite to eat. Stella & 1554 on tap started us off and once we ordered food they bring out some fresh bread. I am not really an Italian connoisseur so I usually just pick something with chicken in it but the Penne Al Arrabbiata (the angry noodle) on the menu caught my attention. Bacon, onions and mushrooms sautéed in red wine and tossed in a spicy marinara sauce. It looked a little soupy and would of been better with more of that free bread! It was spicy enough and I enjoyed it but I dont think it was worth $14.95 even with the small salad included. Friend got the chicken parmesan and the breasts were huge so she shared and it was thick and juicy. My husband and I had dinner here on New Years Eve with some friends. We had eaten here 4 or 5 years ago and decided not to go back, but it was the only restaurant in Evergreen that night that still had some reservations. My $18 seafood lasagna had fake crab, the $1.99 a pound whitefish that's processed and then reformed to tubular shapes that are orange/red on one side and white on the other side. My husband ordered a stuffed pork chop that was dry and over done. My friend ordered the crab cakes which arrived cold. Once she was able to get them reheated, she said they were pretty awful and only had a couple of forkfuls. I ordered wine and it took a half hour of pestering our disinterested wait person to get it. All in all a bad dinner out that cost the four of us over $200, plus a $40 tip for substandard service. None if us wil be back. read more

Wow. Couldn't have been worse. We arrived and asked to be seated on the deck. We were seated and then unseated and told we'd have to wait in the bar. The wait staff and owner were brash and extremely rude, like it was our fault. Strike one. We then we're in the bar and approached again by the owner and were treated poorly again, like it was our fault for the staff seating is. Strike two. We were finally seated on the deck after a short wait. We ordered food after a long wait seated, getting the food took another hour and a half. Strike three. After we received the food, which they forgot the salad, the pasta was sticky nasty. Bland as possible. The steak I ordered medium rare came out well done like it was boiled in water nasty. It was uneatable and sent back. Me and my wife came home and and were sick all night, just crazy. Definitely the food we ate. Nasty garlic burps and major stomach pain!!
