    Acrylic nails

I went here on a whim because I wanted to see if this place was as good as the nail place down by the food court. It wasn't. I got a acrylic full set saturday 2/23, and already my nails have lifted! Granted I have small nail beds so the lady glued it extra for me, but they still lifted. When a tech at Modern Nails and Spa did my nails I got 2 months before any lift occurred, and she didn't glue the nail extra. I wasted $70 and now since I'm back at school i can't have them redo it or anything of the sorts.

NOPE! Never again. I just paid $45 for a mani/pedi for my 9yr old daughter. I have a job interview on Monday and really needed my nails done. We were at the mall already so I decided to splurge on this overpriced nail shop. I asked how much a kids mani/pedi costs and was told $12 for the manicure and $28 for the pedicure. These are regular prices in a lot of places so you can imagine how much my services were. Once thing that irks me is when places charge substantial amounts for kids but still act like they don't have to provide proper service to them. Every single customer in the salon was offered a tea or water except my daughter. Let that sink in....they don't offer anything to a CHILD because I guess the $40 they charge doesn't cover a drink. You know what else it doesn't cover? Alternating colors of polish on each toe(see photo). I'm not talking about two polishes on one toe. No, red on one then black on the next a so on. This costs an extra FIVE DOLLARS! I have been getting my own nails down for 25 years and take my daughter to have hers done regularly. She's always trying new colors and expressing her style. I have never had a nail shop charge me extra for using 2 colors. So, if you go here just remember that the $28+ pedicure only includes 1 color. Be careful, this place will nickel and dime you on everything. You know what they failed to do? Give me a $5 discount because I didn't get polish on my nails. I also did not appreciate being harassed for a tip while checking out. I was standing there ready to pay and the lady points to a sign about how they appreciate cash tips and says, "do you have cash for tips?" I said no. She's says "okay, do you want me to put it on the card". Then states that I need tips for 3 people and starts naming them and what services each provided. That's tacky! Do better. They must split tips at the end of the day because the sure was working for them. I will not be returning here.

Unlike many salons, there wasn't a strong chemical smell, which made the experience so much more enjoyable. They have a huge selection of polish colors, the pricing is fair, and they even offer a complimentary drink with your service. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming throughout my visit. The only small downside was that my nail technician didn't speak much English, so communication was a little difficult at times. That said, she was very sweet, did a great job, and I appreciated how hard she worked. Parking was easy with a nearby parking garage, making the whole visit convenient. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this salon and will be coming back!

I got the regular saloon pedi which was $55 but was charged $60 due to them picking the color I wanted. Apparently that brand of polish dries quickly. The space is very clean and they have you wash hands before picking your color which I love. They also give you a welcome drink. I got a Bellini which tasted well. Their chairs don't have the massage feature like many other salons do but are comfortable. The $60 pedicure comes with a scrub, hot oil massage, a steam towel foot wrap. The nail tech didn't push me for additional services or to upgrade to gel at all which was so refreshing. The work was done relatively quickly and well. I'd come back here for a pedi if I need one asap. For fingernails, they only do regular and gel manis and not specialized services like dip powder or acrylics.

When I went back to my original stylist a couple of months later, she said "Wow! This is an amazing haircut. Where did you get his done?". This was years ago. So today I am going to another part of the country and am looking for a salon in Las Vegas and remembered Helen. I'm half Asian with naturally curly hair. I do not like Deva Cuts. Helen cut my hair so I could wear it straight or curly and it looked incredible.

I arrived at the cozy salon after a short walk through the lobby of the Crystal Towers apartment building and an elevator ride to the ground floor. I was paired with a nail technician who appeared to be learning the ropes. Not an ideal situation and one I would have thought twice about had I realized beforehand! I encountered a series of mishaps during my appointment. The nail technician nicked my right pinky finger. Also, the color that I selected was so diluted that it required four coats and resulted a lumpy mess. The technician took the initiative to redo the manicure even though it delayed her schedule. I appreciated her commitment to providing a quality manicure instead of a subpar one resembling a toddler's work. The owner kindly offered an alternative nail polish color from a different nail polish brand. Throughout my visit, I noticed a few customers (presumably regulars) getting haircuts. While the styles weren't anything special, the clients seemed happy with the results. With two pedicure stations, two manicure stations, and some hair stations as well, this salon is clearly a hodgepodge of different services. My visit served its purpose; however, I would not go out of my way to get my nails done here again.

I got there and was greeted and offered a drink. They have sooooo many colors to pick from! There were ~10 other customers in the salon but my mani started promptly at 7:15pm (my appointment time). Sarah was so sweet, gentle, friendly, and detail-oriented. She took her time and did not rush me out. Everything seemed clean and neat inside. It seemed like there was street parking outside, not sure about any nearby lots or garages... it is a ~10-15 min walk to the crystal city metro. BTW - they do accept AMEX - i know some salons don't. I think my mani turned out great! I already had short nails, so there wasn't much to work with lol. She did 2 base coats, 3 layers of color, and 1 top coat. The real test will be how long it lasts, because my gel never lasts 2 weeks! I would definitely come back!

I went to Metropolitan Nail Bar for a dip polish removal and a new dip manicure. During the removal process, the technician left acetone on my nails for over an hour without checking on them, while working on other clients. My nails began to burn and became very painful. When she returned to remove the remaining polish, I told her it was hurting, but she didn't acknowledge or respond. She then aggressively filed the tops of my nails, to the point where they felt extremely thin, sensitive, and were burning. When applying the new color, there was a noticeable line between where the polish was and wasn't applied. I pointed this out, and she seemed visibly frustrated. Although she added more color, her tone and demeanor came across as annoyed and dismissive. For the next two days, my nails continued to burn, but I was too worried to use more acetone to fix anything, so I left them alone. Once my nails started to grow out, I went to my usual salon to have the dip removed. As I suspected, my nail beds had been filed down excessively. There is now a clear difference between the new growth and the previously filed areas, and my nails are now weak and breaking. Overall, this was a painful experience with lasting damage to my nails. I would not recommend this salon based on my experience.

I haven't gotten a full set in a really long time, so I was expecting the tips with crystal gel powder. I also asked for coffin shape. They have the card at the desk with the shapes and I told them there what I wanted. They put me in the chair for the pedi. I asked for one of the spa pedis with scrub. She scrubbed so hard, she reopened an old wound I thought had healed on my leg from a couple of months before. It literally was bleeding. There was not a scab there, so it's not like she took a scab off. She literally scrubbed too hard. For some reason, halfway through, she changed out the plastic. She didn't explain why, but it made me wonder if she just forgot to put a new one in after the last customer. As the nail tech was trimming my cuticles, she cut me twice to the point of bleeding. Then she proceeded to put thick layers of this gel shellac on my nails. She must have put seven layers on me. The gel was BURNING my nails. And I told her it was burning. It should never burn. I asked her when she was going to ask what color I wanted and she said, I'll put on a color and you tell me if you like it - I thought, what? No. And then she showed me she had put this really LIGHT PINK color on my nails. I said absolutely not. I wanted this red color that I had seen called LADY IN RED. I asked for the swatch fan back and I couldn't find it. She kept offering me other colors. Another gal, senior to her came over and asked me what color I wanted and I repeated LADY IN RED. Then she asked me what color is it, is it pink, blue, green? At that point I was so fed up I said it's RED. The color is literally in the name. Then she put at least three layers of that on my nails. And I did not get the coffin shape that I wanted. I was there longer than I had ever been to a nail salon before. All that and it cost me more than $150! This was literally the worst experience I'd ever had.
