We had such a wonderful dinner at Tutto Fresco in Lakeview this past Wednesday! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We started with the bruschetta and calamari, and I have to say, the bruschetta was probably the best I've ever had. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. We also tried the shrimp appetizer, which was amazing--the sauce was so unique and flavorful. I've honestly never had anything quite like it! Their wine selection is extensive, and I went with a Pinot Noir that was delicious and paired perfectly with dinner. For my entrée, I had the shrimp linguine, and it definitely did not disappoint. The pasta, shrimp, and sauce were all so flavorful and perfectly prepared. We brought the kids as well, and they happily enjoyed their buttered pasta--which was a big hit! And did I forget to mention the desserts?! Absolutely divine! Definitely save room because they are worth it. They also had a special homemade limoncello that was incredible. I can't promise it will still be there when you visit, but if it is, you HAVE to try it! Between the fresh, delicious food, wonderful wine selection, amazing desserts, and genuinely friendly service, we had such an enjoyable evening. Came in for a lovely Saturday night date night. They made the side room look pretty inviting, that's where we sat. We started w fried calamari that was fresh and tasty. I had the caprese salad that was great. Husband had the spaghetti carbonara w chicken, I had fusilli Roma. Both pastas were delicious. We took a tiramisu home for dessert. The quality of the food is very good and especially for the price. I've definitely had better Italian food but I've also had to pay significantly more for it. Our server was also incredibly friendly and it's a great family-friendly atmosphere and I think the restaurant is even family-run. I got the conchiglie al sugo di salsiccia, basically a light tomato sauce with peas and sausage. It was really good food and I loved the flavor. It was also a ton of food - I got nearly three meals out of it (albeit my wife and I split the calamari in restaurant to start). We also attended an even there which was really well done. So on Monday night we visited this restaurant for the first time and to say farewell to our friends visiting us from Texas. Lizzie and her parents chose this place, and I'm happy they did because it was awesome from the greeting of our server Efrain to the ambiance and drinks and foods. we were all very satisfied. I could've lived off of just the table bread, but naturally I had to order an actual meal, so I went with the spaghetti and meatballs. For dessert, I had the tiramisu which comes in a giant glass. It's really a special thing when the staff at a restaurant go out of their way to make you feel at home. I hate to paraphrase a chain restaurant, but when you're at Tutto Fresco, you really are family. My wife and I have been coming here since we discovered it more than five years ago. It's been our date night, our new job celebration spot, our we're too tired to cook so let's go out spot, etc. We've had tons of things on the menu, sampled many of their vast Italian wines, and have asked for many a "specialty" dish (if you've never tried Chicken Parmigiana in pesto sauce, you should - the chef even came out of the kitchen to tell me how much he enjoyed making that one). I wouldn't say that we are regulars like some of the folks we see enjoying the restaurant, especially because we make so much of our own Italian food at home. But, we are there enough for much of the staff to recognize us and make us feel special every time we walk in. Last night, for example, we walked in around 5:30 and were greeted with handshakes from Efrain Jr and Samuel, two lovely and knowledgeable staff members who truly have a passion for the service industry. This was only the second time we'd visited in the past four months, but they greeted us like we were home with our families for the holidays. Just a wonderful feeling and great start to the night. Tutto Fresco is never completely full, there's always a table available, but it is never empty. Which makes it a great spot to enjoy a meal, a bottle of wine, and some conversation over the course of an evening. Last night, we spent three hours at our table, conscious to make sure our table wasn't needed. We enjoyed the buffalo caprese special to start, the freshest of fresh beefsteak tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, truly delicious. Later, we each had a play on fusilli primavera, this time in vodka sauce and chicken. The vodka sauce, as is the case with all of their sauces, is really well executed, not too heavy or too much on the plate, but enough to coat the pasta and elevate the dish. The vegetables were super fresh and slightly al dente, providing a brightness and textural juxtaposition that worked perfectly. As we continued to enjoy our bottle of chianti, and chatted with Samuel (who really is just about the best server you will ever have in your life), the staff brought out some of their complimentary, homemade limoncello. It is excellent, and was the perfect cap to a delightful evening. My wife always sings "a bottle of red, a bottle of white" whenever we go here because it really has become our little Italian restaurant. We've been lucky to become "regulars" at a couple of places in the city these past six years, but nowhere do we feel more at home, more appreciated, and more comfortable than at Tutto Fresco. 8/3/24: I rarely find gems like Tutto Fresco. The restaurant happens to be next to my son's new apt., and I helped him move in. Tutto Fresco was convenient. We were treated like honored guests. The food was great. We shared fried calamari; carpaccio; Caesar salad, and Caprese salad. I had salmon with a cognac sauce; my wife had eggplant Parmesan; my son had veal Parmesan, and his roommate had spaghetti Diavola. For dessert, we shared tiramisu. I look forward to visiting my boy and eating at Tutto Fresco. They are just 4 hours away. read more

My friends and I met here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We had 6:30pm reservation and the restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. There were a few parties sitting outside on their patio, but we decided to sit inside since it was a bit chilly. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer and it was warm and crispy! For our mains we ordered salmon, gnocchi with pesto, and penne aka vodka. Each of our mains also included either soup or salad. The tortellini soup was on the saltier side for me. My salmon was cooked perfectly and still moist even though I asked for the sauce in the side. I also tried my friend's gnocchi and it was perfectly fluffy. All the servers were very attentive throughout dinner and our water glasses were never empty! We had a wonderful time and would dine here again. read more

You can sit inside of the restaurant or they have an outside patio (it's more like continuation of the restaurant) The service staff here is very friendly and make you feel like family! This is a small and authentic Italian restaurant. As soon as you walk in, it feels romantic has a really nice ambiance. The staff were extremely accommodating and really lovely. The service was quick and the fact that all of the servers and the atmosphere feels so authentic, really makes it an awesome experience. The pollo vesuvio was delicious, I could've eaten more of it. I would recommend this dish to anyone. The surf and turf was a special item when we went there, it had great flavor but the steak was a bit tough, still really good though. Went to Tutto Fresco for Mothers Day brunch. There were many dining areas throughout. We sat in a garage area that was pretty cool. They offered many Italian menu options at a fair price. We started with an eggplant and mushroom pizza that was good. We had many items including chicken parm, egg plant parm, and salmon. The salmon was really good, the rest were ok. Unfortunately missed the mark on the service as the food took over an hour to arrive. The waiter kept saying it's coming up but to no avail. Many of the other tables were frustrated on the wait. classic neighborhood italian! i just moved to the area and my dad and i came after finishing up moving me in. this place was phenomenal. not too expensive for a glass of wine and a nice selection overall. we were starving so we started with the grilled calamari and this was PHENOMENAL. the seasoning that it was served in was divine. after we finished the calamari, we proceeded to dip the bread in it. for entrees we had the chicken limone and the meat lasagna that was a special. chicken tasted great (could have been a bigger portion) but the lasagna made up for it. you could tell that the ingredients were fresh and that it was homemade. one of the better lasagnas that i have ever had. we ended the night with the limoncello cake which was very light and tasty. the only critique that i have is that the busser checked on us a bit too often. it was late and we were one of the only tables in the restaurant but it felt like they were constantly coming over. will definitely be back now that i live in the neighborhood! read more

Horrible horrible HORRIBLE experience. Completely ruined my Friday night. We had reservations for 6:15 pm and arrived five minutes late. We were seated at 6:20. No one came by to take any kind of order (including just drinks) until 6:45, and only after we asked what was going on. No apology or explanation. I should also mention we had my two year old with me, so starting to get worried about getting food for her. We asked that her food at least come out first given how long it had taken to just get someone to take our order. Our food did not come out for another 25 minutes, again after repeatedly trying to flag someone down to get an update. No one had stopped by to fresh water or anything like that. When the food finally did come out, it was so bad. We would have been better off making Kraft mac and cheese at home. Pasta from a box with a watery sauce. Just from start to finish the whole experience was horrible. And their attitude about it was even worse - zero level of interest in trying to improve our experience. A hidden gem. Some friends and I decided to try this place after driving by it many times. The ambiance was great and the patio area was huge. The service was great, very attentive and kind. We ordered some apps (calamari fritti, shrimp vesuvio, and bruschetta) it was all delicious but my personal favorite was the shrimp vesuvio. A must try! We followed that with the bianca pizza, shrimp scampi, and the fusilli Roma pasta. The portions were plenty enough for us all to share and try all the dishes.
