5 stars for this old Vietnamese couple's simple small traditional Vietnamese deli store. The old couple is so sweet and down-to-earth. They don't speak English but you can feel they are so genuine. They put their love into food they make. They made the fresh lemongrass chili tofu for me since it was sold out. My favorite is the sesame ball with mung bean filling. They are so fresh and with amazing SUBTLE warm toasted sesame aroma along with natural earthy mung bean sweetness! A very thin layer of crispy dough wrapped around the mung bean.....Simply the best!!! It reminds me those I had in Bay Area years ago. Thank you! It made my 4 hrs flight from NY worth every single minute. Lol! read more

was in the area and wanted to try something new. This place had great reviews on Yelp, so I decided to stop by--but wow, I was shocked. As soon as I walked in, I was hit with a strong sewer smell. The store was dirty, the floor was wet and slippery, and there were items scattered all over the place. I've been to many stores before, but this is one of the very few I walked out of without buying anything. I honestly don't know how the health department still allows this place to operate. Thanks to Yelp I found this place! I have been driving by it a few times and didn't think much of it. It's a small shop with no frills. The sesame balls filled with mung bean are delicious and not overly sweet. The mini shrimp eggrolls are great as a snack but would be better to take home to eat with lettuce and herbs. Ate them all on the car ride heading home so make sure that you get enough to enjoy at home too. The bean curd egg roll was crispy and ate with soy sauce at home along with the lemongrass chili tofu. Not a place that you sit down and eat, but easy place to pick up to go for additional sides to eat at home. Cheaper than a restaurant but beats having the need to make it yourself at home. Also, the owner seemed very humble and nice. Let's be honest you don't make much money from selling tofu. Also, it's cash only so be prepared. read more

I've been a regular customer here for many years. I'm absolutely disappointed with this place. I love their tofu here but with the size of tofu and the selection the worker picked for me will be the reason, I will no longer come support this family business. I waited for fresh batch, however, they selected the old, small, thin sliced fried tofus instead of the new ones for me. The person standing before me waited in line and got the new batch. This does not make sense. There were plenty fresh ones! The price remained the same, but the quality of the tofu is no longer the same! Basing on what I see and paid for were selected based on age and how much you buy. This occurred many times I've been here and realized they're not going to change even when I voiced it out to them. read more

Also got the deep fried sesame balls with mung bean and coconut at $.75 each. They got 2 types of spring rolls: one is smaller while the other is bigger. No idea what the fillings are. So many people compliment their eggrolls that I wish they have business cards that I could pass around for them at these parties. I usually call ahead to place a big order and pick-up. I stopped by last night after work to pickup some banh tet or sticky rice cake wrapped in banana leaves. Tried it this morning and it taste pretty good. Nice and soft, cooked all the way through. I got the vegetarian or chay version. The spices are perfect, not too salty. The mung beans was cooked and grounded instead of leaving the beans whole. Lots of flavor that leaves you craving for more. I might have to go back in a few weeks. So why only 4 stars? Because I also picked up a pack of Banh phu the ( husband and wife) that taste like plastic rubber. The jello like cake was crunchy to bite into. It's suppose to be semi-soft. Good Tofu is not an Oxymoron. I didn't know until a few years ago that it was possible for Tofu to taste good. It doesn't have to be nasty. Really. It doesn't. Freshly made it is a thing of Joy and Beauty. Tofu, after all, is a fresh cheese, just like Ricotta or Yogurt. It just starts off with a different category of "milk". It is possible to buy fresh tofu in Dallas. North of LBJ, east of Central. Corner of Audelia and Walnut, tucked away into a tiny store-front in a large strip center. Almost no one speaks English. They will sell you 4 cakes of fresh tofu for $1. There is a fair amount of pointing that goes into this purchase. Fresh tofu has a substantially better flavor and taste than any other tofu I have ever encountered. I tried to find a website,but there isn't one. They just have an address. In addition to Tofu, they sell other food items. I haven't had anything there that I enjoyed, but my Foodie BFF Vanessa, just raves about the balls with the red bean filling. If you go, consider also making a run through the gia-mormous Asian grocery in the same strip center. Lots of really beautiful produce. read more

I love this place! It's a classic Vietnamese deli with fresh tofu made daily in a variety of styles. My favorite is the lemongrass stuffed tofu. Great, fresh Tofu! If someone had told me 30 years ago, or even 4 years ago, that I'd be happy about finding a place that makes and sells fresh Tofu I would have said they're crazy. But, my diet has changed greatly and, because of that, my health has greatly improved. Tucked away in the middle of a center that I need to spend more time exploring, especially the Vegan Restaurant and large Asian Grocery store. I'm glad to have found Tuyet. Fresh Tofu does make a difference. Already made a Tofu Scramble from a few cakes and it's great. I also got a couple of their Lemongrass/Chili cakes which were wonderful. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Looks like the items change frequently so check back. Be aware that this is a cash only business when you head there. Do some research on storing Tofu too. By Day, vegan. By Night, Pescetarian. Just kidding. I eat vegan at home and pesceterian when I go out because this is Texas. Tuyet tofu is the only place my family and I go to for our pre-fried tofu. The house favorite has always been the blocks of salt grass tofu. Pop them in the oven for a couple minutes when you get home to make them extra crispy and serve with soy sauce and rice. PERFECTIONNN As of an hour ago, those go for 2/$1. Normal fried tofu blocks are 4/$1 and are ( in my opinion) best sautéed in a sauce of sorts or cubed and put in soup. They also have these rolled thingies ( very technical, I know) which are a mixture of tofu, mushrooms, glass noodles, etc that are wrapped and fried in bean curd. I believe that they are 1/.75 cents. A personal favorite of mine. Also amazing when popped into the oven for a few minutes and served over rice. It's pretty salty on its own but a little soy sauce never hurts. Don't let the questionable appearance turn you off. They have the best tofu in the DFW. This is not a restaurant by the way. Amazing hole in the wall! If you're looking for authentic tofu and other homemade food items with no preservatives, MSG, and all those processed ingredients, this is the place to go to. I'm a big fan of tofu, so I've been to a few tofu joints and this is definitely up there as far as taste, authenticity and price. the environment definitely has the feel of a mom and pop type. The service was good. The people helping me did not speak fluent English, but I definitely was able to make out what they were saying.
