Twede's is the perfect filming spot for movies mainly due to their old school diner vibe look and the cute decor that surrounds the cafe. It is a seat yourself place, so my group sat at one of the tables near the entrance. We were handed paper menus that had many choices to choose from. I decided to go for the fish n chips, and I am so glad I made that choice. Our waiter was very friendly and he had a sarcastic sense of humor that made him a hilarious character. The food came quickly and all at the same time. The fish had a light, crispy breading and tasted so good with the large amount of tartar sauce they give you. I loved the tartar! I even used it to dip the fries in... so addicting!! Other reviewers complained that the price was too high for what you're getting (esp for the burgers), but it comes with bottomless fries! Plus, the burgers were fairly big and why order a $13 burger if you already know it's overpriced? Go to a burger place, not a diner if you really want a burger that badly! Wow, I rarely write reviews, but I am quite frankly irate. Not only did they not have a SINGLE table that could accommodate our group of six, but the ceiling seem to be oozing rusty slime. I had just concluded a hike with my pals, and it wouldn't have taken much to satisfy our needs as we were absolutely ravenous! But after eating my below average omelette with the dripping and greasy hash browns, I realized that I would been better off if they dropped a turd on the plate. Because that way, I wouldn't have eaten anything and would not be full of all that bullshit. After being in a horrible mood, while stuffing ourselves with the piles of grease, it gets worse. Our friend Jonny Mcgee who only acts with STRENTH, HONOR, DISCIPLINE, was charged 26$ for coffee, waffle, bacon. GREED COMFORT GLUTTONY is all I have to say to you guys at Twede's. THIS PLACE IS LITERALLY AMAZING. We went today (traveled from SoCal and it was so worth it!!!) My friends and I are huge Twin Peaks fans. I forget his name, but our server (he had Twin Peaks tattoos) immediately made us feel welcomed and immersed us into the experience. Because of the amazing service, we decided to stay another day here and come back to the diner for breakfast. The food was also incredible. We got the Twin Peaks Burger and of course some cherry pie (literally delicious). I really loved the ambiance inside, as well as the merchandise section. We had a friend visiting from overseas, and felt that the classic ambience (and TV series association) of this café in a small town would be something that she would appreciate. We had frequented this café several times over the decade. We came here for breakfast this morning, and given we had small appetites, decided to order 2 main entrees to share between the three of us. We ordered 3 pancakes and a vegetable omelet. The pancakes were huge and filling (we had to bag one pancake). Likewise, there were some omelet left overs that were bagged. The coffee was so watered down that it was the WORST coffee I had. Even worse than the drip coffee from the coffee chains in town. It was extremely over-priced at $2.50 per person. Don't throw your money away on their coffee. The total bill came out to $36 for 2 entrees and 3 coffees. This is our last visit here. read more

Coming home from a harrowing drive from Leavenworth, the kids and were famished. Seeing as how we love diner fare, I thought I'd treat them to Twede's, and I described in length the Twin Peaks connection (the show was long before their time!). It was busy but we got a seat and the server promptly took our order. How hard can a bacon burger and a BLT be to make? Apparently, quite hard. The bacon in both the BLT and the burger was burnt. Like, black burnt. And the bun on my burger was burnt. We were all so hungry, we ate it all anyhow, but I was really surprised they'd serve obviously burnt food like that. The couple at the table abutting ours had some sort of breakfast hash dish, and I noticed the guy's toast was blacker-than-black burnt, too. To be fair, my french fries were good, and one kid had the cherry pie, and she loved it. At the cash, I presented the bill to a guy in a cowboy hat. He didn't look at me or talk to me. No "how was your meal?" or anything. Just totalled up the bill ($40 for the three of us - and my two kids split the BLT. So, not cheap) and announced the total. I couldn't hear, so he said it again, louder. I handed him my debit card, he ran up the transaction, put the slip in front of me to sign, then took it away and turned away. No "thank you" or anything. I said "thank you" to him and he walked away. Wow, unreal. They have Neanderthals working the cash. After a sunrise hike at Rattlesnake Ledge, my best friends and I were staaarving. Luckily, Twede's is only like 10 minutes away from the trail, so this was a great place to stop before heading back home! Twede's is definitely old school. The sign outside is definitely an indicator that this place has been around for a while, as is the fading pie painting on the side of the building. Stepping inside is like going back in time to some circa 1950's diner, but I was diggin' it because it's super cute. The waiters and waitresses aren't overly nice, but I think it was because they were just pretty busy. A few times we got a weird vibe from the people we were served by, but it was nothing negative so it's whatever. The food is amazing and you get GIANT portions. I mean, I know this is America, but the portions are big even by American standards. I got the Chicken Fried Steak and was not disappointed. The gravy that came with it was nice and peppery which is my preference for ANY kind of gravy, so of course I loved it. The chicken wasn't as crispy as I've had at other places, but it was still pretty good. Their hashbrowns are also cooked perfectly, which is another must for any breakfast place I go to. The only thing that I noticed that kind of surprised me was that the prices for sides are kind of ridiculous. My meal that came with the country fried steak, eggs, toast, and hashbrowns was $12.95 (fair) - however, I was contemplating adding one pancake because I was really craving one... Almost $6 for ONE pancake. What?!?! I'm going to assume the size of the sides are also outrageous because for that kind of price, that pancake better be bigger than my torso. I saw that the price for a side of hashbrowns was also close to $6. I go hiking in the area quite a bit, so I think I definitely will be returning to Twede's to try more of their menu. read more

Now I liked Twin Peaks but not so much so that I ventured out to North Bend to try a damn good coffee, but that's because I don't drink coffee, yes I'm weird I know. Anyways on our way to Yakima Labor Day weekend we needed breakfast, stopping in North Bend we thought there'd be plenty of places but really there wasn't. That is unless you wanted fast food and that I did not want. So by the suggestions of the WaMu tellers we headed to Twede's Cafe. I'm not a big fan of seat yourself establishments that are crazy busy like this place was. Every empty table was dirty so it was either snag a dirty table to stand and wait while others behind you grabbed a dirty table. A dirty table it was for us. But thankfully as soon as we sat down someone came and bussed the table and cleaned it up for us. I of course went with the biscuits and gravy thinking this place would have good biscuits and gravy, I'm determined to find delicious biscuits and gravy in the state of Washington. GBF#1 had the Spinach mushroom and feta omelet. The first bite of my biscuits and gravy was good second not so good. The biscuits were on the dry side and gravy was on the floury side and the hash browns were just hash browns a rather disappointing breakfast. GBF#1 said his omelet was good and left it at that. The tweety birds hanging all over the ceiling kind of scared me but I did enjoy the pictures from Twin Peaks lining the wall to the ladies room, which had a nice roto rooter invoice hanging on the wall to ask the ladies to not flush their tampons down the toilet because apparently it cost $248.39 to fix the ladies toilet at Twede's when you do. read more

This place is a trip! Home of "Twin Peaks" cherry pie AND bizarro world to a million Tweety Birds. Because, you know, the owner's last name sort of sounds like "tweety." While not exactly charming, it made me laugh. The food is diner food. Pretty much every burger you can imagine (50+ variations), omelets, milkshakes, some other stuff...you get the picture. Nothing to write home about. My grilled cheese was pretty kickin', though. The service was some of the better service I've ever experienced in a diner, which was refreshing. Best coconut creme pie ever! I was too young to appreciate the whole Twin Peaks craze everyone talks about when you mention Twede's, but I love this place none-the-less. Food is decent, everything you'd expect from a small town diner - sandwiches, burgers and salads. But it's the pie that keeps me coming back! Meh. Met a friend here for lunch, as she is a Twin Peaks fan and wanted to see the place. Quickly found a booth on a hot, Sunday afternoon in North Bend. Waited almost ten minutes for water & menus, and at least another ten for our server to take our order. All the while, no fewer than 3 other servers sitting around on the bar stools chatting with no regard for the customers. The place was not packed and really seemed to have adequate staff, if not overstaffed, for the amount of work any of them were doing. We both ordered burgers and fries. My friend requested no onions, and of course her teriyaki burger had onions. My burger was fine, avocado bacon cheese burger, but seemed like a pre-formed frozen patty. Nothing to write home about. The bacon was good, and the fries were decent, although a little on the greasy side. Our server never came back to see how our meal was, or to refill our drinks. Definitely lacking in the attentiveness arena, and again, they weren't that busy and the whole time we were there most of the visible staff was just standing around talking. We did not bother with pie, and honestly I wouldn't go back there just for that. read more

If you are a fan of the legendary 90's television show Twin Peaks, dining here is an incredible experience. If not, this is just your average mediocre diner. I have been captivated by Twin Peaks since I was a teenager, and always dreamed of visiting the place where it was filmed-Snoqualmie, WA. The director (David Lynch) chose to film the majority of the show at actual locations in the area-Twede's Diner being one of the most frequently visited. The diner, known as the Double R in the show, looks almost exactly as fans will remember it. The place has plenty of seating, with a circular island in the center with bar seating, surrounded by booths. Overhead is mid century neon, and memorabilia cover the walls. In the hallway near the restrooms are one of a kind film negatives, newspaper articles, and other original photos from the filming of the show. The food was okay. The prices on the menu initially seemed a bit high, until our food came out-the portions are huge. My boyfriend got a HALF order of Biscuits and Gravy, and it was a mountain of food. I got a SIDE of hash browns, and I could not even finish half of it as my main dish. I added tomatoes, spinach, and mushrooms (and plenty of hot sauce), and it made for a pretty tasty brunch. The cherry pie was not good, and I suppose it doesn't have to be, because people will order it anyway. Served cold, the crust was bland and undercooked, and the artificial maraschino cherry filling tasted straight out of a can. Their coffee on the other hand, was indeed damn fine. I had mine black as midnight on a moonless night, and thoroughly enjoyed every sip. I could not resist taking home one of their mugs, which are available for $20. While I would not go out of my way to return, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Twede's. read more

I would personally categorize this as a diner. You can come here, order a couple of eggs, some hash and a damn fine cup of coffee and be completely satisfied. Also, the serving sizes are very generous, I don't believe I've finished my entire plate yet, granted, I'm usually ordering the omelettes. The service is very small town, so if you are looking for fast and quick, you'll prob be disappointed. However, if you'd like friendly service with a smile, then you're in the right spot. Finally, a great way to finish your visit is of course with a cherry pie. Both tasted great, no complaints at all. As far as kitsch and camp go, this place is great. We've all been there. Overwhelmed by hunger, you visit an establishment that you might not ordinarily frequent. Food hits the table, you start to eat and midway through, you realise the taste is just kinda... meh. Well that happened here but the kicker is we planned a visit because yes, we're Twin Peaks nerds. Three of us went and had a lackluster experience from a relatively indifferent waitress. I admit we gobbled our food down and couldn't pass on the reason that we drove here: the pie. We wanted a some of that (hopefully) good cherry pie to go with our "damn fine cup of coffee". Pie arrived: filling on the cherry was too sweet. I only had one refill of coffee which was far from damn fine. The bottom line is this: your meal will be overpriced for the quality. If you simply NEED to do the diner thing, stick with a pie/coffee combo. $4.50 for a slice of that pie and another $2.50 to make it a la mode. Add that "damn fine cup of coffee" to and you're already at a tenner without tip. Skip spending any money here on their wholly average diner food. My opinion is take photographs outside on a grey day with the mists swirling. Continue on to Snoqualmie Falls and take more photos there while you hear the iconic opening bars of the theme song play on your mental jukebox. read more

I visit Twede's each and every time I visit North Bend and I have to say that that it is such a special place to enjoy great food and a restaurant that takes you to another place altogether with their cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. They make a vegan bean burger that is to die for and endless fries that i just can't say no to..l that is until my wife gives me that look... :) I'm also excited that they will be adding more vegan options to their menu including a vegan cherry pie! Twede's is under new ownership and the new owners are awesome people who care about great food and awesome service. I can't wait to come back. read more

After receiving bum directions to our intended breakfast location in Issaquah, my friend and I decided to continue east on I-90 to have our morning meal at Twede's. Fate smiled upon us this day. I'd actually had a burger and pie at Twede's a couple years ago and while the experience was fine, it didn't compel me to drive back 30 miles for more. Based on breakfast this past Saturday, however, I think I'd be willing to trek eastward often for more Twede. Service was no-nonsense but courteous and we were waited on quickly (9:30 a.m. on a Saturday). I can't say that our food came out to us with lightning speed, but the timing was nothing to whine about. While perched on the sparkly blue bouncy vinyl booth seats, my friend and I raved about the enormous crumbly biscuits with nary a care about the Tweety Bird decor overhead. The scrambled eggs from my profoundly-named "3 Egg Breakfast with Meat" were spot-on and the chef even remembered to throw in the cheese I'd special-requested. Hashbrowns were superb and bacon was thick and plentiful. My friend was equally impressed with her Pepper Jack & Green Chile Omelet, and her coffee cup was kept full. They serve breakfast food and all sorts of typical diners food such as sandwiches, salad, burgers and so on. Honestly, this diner is just ok. The food was nothing to die for. Walking into this diner felt like you are turning back time into the 80s..so that was interesting. The place also got some hype as one of the setting for Twin Peaks as well. A group of us ordered various kinds of burgers and I had just biscuits/gravy. The food was just subpar..nothing memorable except we all earned a bragging right to say that we have eaten here (for all those Twin Peaks fans out there....). But...as a person who never watch Twin Peaks..I'm not sure if I actually think this cafe lives up to their height :) Overall, a good, affordable and casual place to stop by and grab something to fuel your stomach, without any expectations for food to be so great. Bad food, bad service and bad accommodations. The only reason I come here once a year is to have breakfast with family before they get back to Montana since it is on the their route. There is nothing special about this place. I ordered bacon and cheese omelette and it had no test, cheap bacon and awfully greasy. Bad thin bread quality, and undercooked hash browns. My niece and nephew had chocolate chip pancakes and it came with less than half dozen of cold chips on the top. My sister ordered veggie omelette and the pieces of the onions were larger than the mountains that surround the city. Waiter was not very friendly at all. Putting the Twin Peaks nostalgia on hold, Twede's Cafe is a classic American diner with great food. We went for breakfast and I thoroughly enjoyed my Double R breakfast special with a biscuit. Eggs were perfect, and the bacon was thick and delicious. The biscuit was one of the best biscuits I've had the pleasure of savoring. They serve a home style biscuit which is dry yet moist with the perfect amount of crumble. Definitely get a biscuit! The thrill in going to Twede's comes from its celluoid history. LOVE TWIN PEAKS. As a restaurant, it's a diner with bizarre decor that seems a little dirty. Not dirty in the grimy way, dirty in the 'previously manhandled by scads of other patrons communal texts' way. Also, seriously, what's with all the stuffed Tweedy Birds? They get grimy and dirty looking and I bet they're a bitch to clean. Also, the counter is crowded with doodads and t-shirts and hats and golf tees for sale - the overall atmosphere is equal parts diner and cheap tourist kiosk. It's also overlit and coooold. The food is typical diner fare (which I just /love/), and it's pretty good. My chicken sandwich was good, anyway, and the cherry pie was ace, and I don't even like cherry things (except cherries themselves). I mean, of course I had to try the cherry pie - plz refer to my default pic. If you're going on a roadtrip or something, stop in. If you're doing a TP tour, you definitely have to stop there. But it probably shouldn't be the sole destination. Well, I mean, if you live in North Bend, that's a little different. Anyway, it's fun, and the servers are nice, and if you're a diehard TP fan, you can pick up a hat that says 'Coroner - Twin Peaks County' or a Twede's t-shirt with the TP catchphrases. You have to visit Twedes if you're in town. I've been to a lot of restaurants and I've never been treated better than I did at Twedes. Jacob was our server and he couldn't have been nicer. We had a large party with children and everything was handled so smoothly. The food was good but I would come back again just to see the staff work their magic. Great job guys! read more
