I have been coming to this place decades before the name changed to twin rivers. And I have been getting the clam chowder for decades also. Today I went to pick up the Friday only favorite chowder. The so-called new owner has raised the prices through the roof. We use to buy chowder for $15.00 for a 32oz cup now they are charging the same price for a small 20oz cup. Plus the garlic bread is now half the size. I asked what happened and was told new owner. The bartender little miss attitude said THINGS CHANGE, and all I could say is obviously NOT FOR THE BETTER !!!! I for one WONT EVER set foot in the place again. This might be petty, but come on... paying almost double for 20oz cups. I an extremely disappointed. My 35 + year favorite is no more. I've been going to the twin for over 15 years. Love this place. When Corey took it over the place improved 150%. I used to rave, brag and bring people to say "OMG...the tacos are to die for and the burgers!" I don't know what has changed but the last three times we've gone in there...the taco meat tastes like it's been precooked and then reheated, all of the appetizers are premade and frozen. I know because they were out of several items and the waitress said the truck hadn't come in. I know that things change, places change. But it's all the same people cooking. Maybe life circumstances change and I get it's a family business. You built this up on how quality it was and awesome. It's to say, I don't crave this place anymore when I come into town and won't be raving about it. Crossing my fingers, they bring back whatever they were doing before. read more

Cool people. Played some pool. Sang on their outside stage. Cooked my own steak, but I'm sure they wouldve done it just like "mom" used to...(so better than I did) Everyone was crackin jokes and having a great time... Except that one "Driver" guy...he was far from the designated driver lol. unless it was a death cab or DUI train... But everyone else was personable, courteous, and "hometown" kind of people. I had to stop by after passing this place so many times and seeing a big sign that says "deep fried gizzards" - a rather rare dish I grew up with. They were superb! I also ordered the fish taco - the shell was deep fried flour tortilla - excellent. The downside is that I had to wait a full hour for my food to arrive even though it was not crowded. We found this place on Resturant.com. We went on a Tues evening around 5:30 and were a little concerned by the unimpressive building, but the inside of the saloon was decorated with all sorts of fun old pictures and thousands of dollar bills signed by past patrons. They offer a special "cook your own steak" dinner starting at 6pm. We were short on time so did not try it. We got the Cowboy burger and Fish and chips. Both were excellent and were large portions. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back the next time we are passin throuh Modesto! read more

Can't remember ever having done so but when you are treated disrespectfully on a regular basis by the same bartender each time you visit an establishment it's time to warn others. I don't go to Twin Rivers but maybe 4 or 5 times a year because I have to. It's a great place for events. The owner Corey seems to be a nice enough man. The food is great, drink prices are average. The older female bartender with the big blond hair is absolutely one of the worst. She never fails to ignore & help others that haven't been standing there as long as you. She pretends to not see you. She does this to me every time I go there. This last time I went I thought it was just me but 3 of my friends who are male said they get treated the same way. She treats male & female alike. Guess she isn't to worried about tips. Either way I will continue to go somewhere else. No one likes to be treated this way. They could have a much better thriving business if they did away with this woman. read more
