Place is poorly run by management, the food and service is lacking as well. Toast was 1/2 of a slice, potatoes were under cooked. My wife ordered crab cakes eggs Benedict with the hollandaise on the side. They put the sauce on the eggs and didn't want to remake it. Then we get the bill and they charged $5 more than the price listed on the menu. I said something to the manger and he said that they raised the prices on some items but didn't update the menu. He said everyone expects the higher prices and they don't complain. I just think if you're raising prices 20-30% you should reflect that on the menu rather than just hoping people don't notice. I was actually around the Fells Point area today so I figured why not. I'm happy to chat with restaurant owners about their businesses and to help them out. So I gave him a call, twice, at the number displayed. However he did not answer. So I walked into the actual restaurant because I was about a 2 minute walk away. When I walked in, the person managing the place didn't even greet me. I had to walk to him and say hi. He didn't even say hi back to me. I asked him if the owner was there. Turns out the owner is on vacation. For 3 weeks. The person I talked to was very rude to me and didn't even seat me. I was actually going to grab a bite to eat here again but nope. I left. He didn't even give me the time of day. ---- I was reading positive reviews of this place, noting that this place was a hidden gem in Fells Point. However, I don't particularly think too highly of it. My gf and I came here for dinner one day. We were walking around Fells Point and stumbled upon here. We were greeted by an employee who seemed to the the owner or manager. He gave us the menu and poured us glasses of water. We asked him what the best items on the menu were. He praised the Lamb Shank so I tried that. It took around 15 minutes to be ready. It came out and it looked pretty good. I was expecting a more on the plate for it's price. I picked out some pork and ate it. It wasn't too bad but it definitely didn't live up to my expectation. Our waiter said they put a special sauce in it which gave it its nice taste. I didn't taste anything special though. I'm willing to give this place another try, I guess. People on here seem to love their brunch menu so maybe I'll come here for brunch next time. Excellent dining experience! This was my second time stopping by Twist. It was the first warm day of the year in Fells point and the neighborhood was packed. It was Sunday during prime lunch hours. Twist was super busy too but we lucked out with getting a seat outside since I had my dog with us. One of the staff members brought a water bowl over right away for the dog which I thought was SO kind! Our table was nicely shaded from the sun with umbrellas and comfortable seating. A large party had walked in right before us and we were nervous service would be delayed because of it but that was not the case. Waters we're delivered right when we sat down, our server came over to us shortly after for our coffee order which came out within minutes. The food was perfect! The Croissant French Toast is 10/10! The staff was so friendly and fun & that made for such a pleasant experience. I went here for dinner a few weeks ago upon recommendation from a friend, and it did not disappoint! I ordered the lamb burger, and it was delicious - perfectly cooked and seasoned, not chewy at all. Had a table for two reserved for a Sunday and still had to wait ten minutes to be seated. Was very confused about who our true waiter was, had to wait 30 minutes to order, and another hour to receive our food. There was a table outside that seated, ordered, receive and finished their meal all before we got ours. We asked 4 different servers to check on our food and each of them said "it's coming up." We're "Out-of-towners", stopped into our favorite little harbor town, and walked around Fells Point, checking reviews to where to have a late lunch. Twist was a great choice! (thank you very much to the good reviews) It is very small, but we we loved it. The food for the most part seemed all fresh, hand made dishes & delicious. We will go back to Fells Point & we will return to the Twist...absolutely would recommend UPDATE: I want to give a special shut-out to "Liz" & "Marcel", after our wonderful meal @ Twist, we got home (2 hrs away) to notice my CC was missing. I preface this review with the fact that I was part of a large group and the staff was extremely nice. The decor was really nice and most of the food was very tasty. I loved the Moroccan Scramble, and would highly recommend it! The rest of my group enjoyed their food as well. We did hit a few issues that put a slight damper on the meal. The whole service took quite a while and we kind of felt like an after thought in the back room (though we are thankful to have been accommodated with our large group in a very timely manner). I ordered a cappuccino that had a very weird, chunky film over the top that kind of ruined the cappuccino. There were nails slightly poking out of one of the seats. We also found out at the very end of the meal that their card machine was down and we had to pay our $100+ meal in cash. Some friends and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here this weekend and were very pleased with the food. I got the lamb burger, which was cooked perfectly and very juicy. My boyfriend got the braised lamb shank, and it was so tender it fell off the bone. We highly recommend both! Prices are decent given the quality of the food. It's BYOB which is great (not a lot of those around here), but just beware that there is a $5 corkage fee regardless of what kind of drinks you bring. They take reservations, so I definitely recommend making one beforehand since the space is small. It was also very hot, I don't think they have AC (or at least it wasn't on) so they had a fan next to our table, but it was uncomfortably warm in the back room. Came across this spot after several other brunch places were too crowded in the area. There was a decent crowd in the restaurant, but they could seat our party of 5 immediately, not to mention it's byob too! The ambience was very welcoming - cool modern steel-top tables, and a homey decorating style. Being in Maryland, two of the diners had to get the crab eggs Benedict, while the other three of us gravitate towards the hash brown bowl, a dish i don't normally see! We went for a Friday brunch and when we realized it was BYOB we made a pit stop at a nearby liquor store to make our own mimosas. The restaurant was cute and a little on the smaller side but they had a really nice area in the back that is probably for special events. The service was excellent and the host, who had a thick accent, was very personable. We brought out a bucket of ice to chill our bottle and helped us uncork (I believe there is a fee per bottle). The food was great and was very photogenic. I ordered the chipotle turkey panini which was served with a side of fries in a cute wire basket. The panini was delicious, savory, and had the perfect amount of filling. The menu has a wide range of prices with a lot of brunch options around $10-15. My friends and I had a good experience there but I've been told that this place is hit or miss, which explains its lower yelp stars. I got the b'more omelette which had crab meat and Swiss cheese in it. Great food but the hash browns were over salted. Really unnecessary, let people add their own salt if they'd like. The omelet on the other hand was great- cooked perfectly. I'd definitely come back here but ask beforehand not to salt anything. I was also disappointed in the Orange juice. The menu is misleading and says fresh orange juice. It was just regular orange juice (minute made, it tasted like). I thought it would be fresh squeezed. Twist is my favorite little gem tucked in between some hustle and bustle bars in Fells Point. Besides being a BYOB place (score!) The food for Brunch and Dinner is INCREDIBLE every single time I have visited. I've had the privileged of going twice during restaurant week, both of which fabulous menus were created. This restaurant is somewhere I've been wanting to go for over a year now. One day my husband and I came here but were unable to get a table because they were so crowded, which sparked my interest even more! So I saw deal with this place on Groupon, and decided to purchase and visit the same evening. When we visited we walked in the dining room which was pretty empty but that was because there was a lot going on outdoors and therefore there were people outdoors walking the streets as well as sitting immediately outdoors and ordering. It was very very very hot in there, our waiter was awesome and service was great! I ordered Twist Grilled Chicken Wings & Glazed Carrots and my husband ordered the Amish Pan - Grilled Chicken (w Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus, a Green Pepper Corn Sauce) * They are out of asparagus and gave him spinach. It was very good. My hubby was over the top about this place and would probably give his place at 10 if he could I'm at a 3 because I like the location, I love my waiter, and the menu was pretty good... My food... I will say it was less than average. The best part of my dish were the glazed carrots, but I don't think they were worth what I paid for it. I do plan to return in the future, because my husband wouldn't be happy again if we didn't, but I'm definitely going to try something different and I look forward to a different point of view. read more

They charged an automatic 20% service charge and there was no service -- only one mediocre waiter (who only took orders) and the hostess. The bacon was a disgusting patty of greasy cheap bacon, the Belgium waffle was basically an eggo waffle and the almond croissant French toast was simply bread soaked in syrup. No one stopped by once to check on us and the check was basically dropped on our table with barely two words. No one ever stopped to see how we were or care that 90% of our food was untouched. The staff looked annoyed to be there. It was a very subpar brunch on our anniversary weekend. I cannot recommend even though the outdoor dining had a nice ambience. read more

Wonderful little spot in Fell's! So glad I decided to try this place on a whim for my birthday. We had the calamari to start which was SO delicious and tasted so fresh. I had the lobster ravioli and was nearly licking the plate after it was so good. Will definitely go back just to have that again! Ate here for the first time on Sunday and was expecting to get brunch but just missed it... had lunch instead...BLUF: enjoyed everything!: Mezze- fabulous mix of spreads: hummus was perfect consistency and not pasty (I like it a bit grainy); both eggplant dishes were deliciously flavored and some of best I've had; though I'm not a huge fan of olive tapenade (usually too salty for me) I actually didn't mind their version; pita was warm and pillowy- yum! chicken quesadilla- good amount of moist chicken and cheese, accompaniments of sour cream, guac and pico all fresh Amish pan-grilled chicken- moist, minimally seasoned which was great since there was a sauce (we requested on the side/separate) and that ensures not too salty and/or competing flavors/spices with the sauce; garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus were tasty as well Linguini with grilled shrimp- hard to choose a favorite between this & the chicken but this dish might have (barely) edged past the chicken; shrimp were good size (?12/15) and amount (6), juicy, well seasoned to complement the pasta which was just right and not too firm or soft; sauce wasn't overpowering / drowning the pasta; would have appreciated more spinach/veggies but that's just because I like veggies and not because I think they put too few ordered flourless/GF chocolate cake to take with us and enjoyed it later- SO rich and was more like eating straight-up chocolate, smooth & velvety! (Hot unsweetened tea balanced the richness & sweetness) Service: mostly impeccable (note that they automatically add 20% service/gratuity - we gave additional for exceptional service); we could barely finish our food before they cleared dishes etc - in a very attentive yet non-intrusive manner! Yet again I stumbled across a place that was packed from the front to the back and jumping from the time I walked in to the time I left. This place was a great stop for brunch. The staff was doing everything to accommodate anyone that came in, moving tables, chairs, you name it! I ordered the chicken and waffles and man I was not disappointed! It came with a wing, thigh, and a breast! I ordered a side of bacon to go along with it thinking I would need a little extra but this plate alone will fill you up (at least for me, I eat a lot ). If there were any opportunities for improvement, I'd say the bacon was a bit salty but other than that, great through and through and if you do intend to have a party 3+ and eat in the front room it will be a bit tight and may feel a bit congested.
