The food is really good, but the service is subpar. Not just my table, but when you're being unattended to you tend to pay attention to other tables, and you notice that they also were being unattended to. There was an excruciatingly large period between getting the menus and ordering, and it was observed in multiple places. I'll give some benefit of the doubt though since I went on New Year's Day for brunch (was moderately busy) so they may have been understaffed. As for the food, it ended up being worth it but it's not somewhere I'd recommend to go during busy times as it doesn't feel like the "flow" is down. read more

The only good thing was their black coffee with animal crackers. It was also the only thing that came out for an hour. The service hear sucks. I mean really sucks. A woman who i guess was the host and manager wore a shirt that said "Women can do anything" yet she couldnt do her job any worse. There is zero management. Just a bunch of employees who refused to help us with anything. Took 30 minutes to order that coffee after i sat down. Each waiter i stopped said "let me get your waiter" and never sent anyone or followed up. Lets list the issues so the owner can fix them or fire bad staff: 1) zero refills of my coffee for an hour 2) they put ice without asking in my orange juice 3) we ordered a yogurt parfait to start, but it didnt come out until all of the other food came - guess they missed the point. I told them i was ordering it for table sk we dont starve to death after zero waiters for 30 min. I should have just left by then. Does a premade parfait take an hour to thaw before being served?? 4) I ordered Chesapeake Eggs Benefict. Description: "JUMBO LUMP CRAB with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce over english muffins" you cant say this and then simply smear a little bit of shitty crab meat. This is Baltimore for god sakes. Literally a sliver of mashed crab and shells - barely in existence. Worst crab Benedict ever. 5) my friend ordered burger medium well and it came out hard as a rock. I warned him to order medium because clearly there was minimal quality control, but oh well. 6) walls are decorated like a dentist office or an airport lounge. Literally photos of cities with their city names in bold. 7) i went to the bathroom and the toilet seat was hanging off the toilet broken. 8) waiters dont scan the room for anything. Nobody ever asked how everything was we ordered or if we needed anything like coffee refills or other stuff like water. Just ignored us. 9) this BRUNCH restaurant is BYOB. I usually like byob but yelp or site says nothing about this and i do t want to be shaking bloody marys at my table like WTF its fells point get a clue! 10) i watched multiple customers send food back while i was there. Not a good sign. And the WORST part?? Get this. Some waiter who wouldnt serve us snd kept forgetting to get us a waiter to our table all of a sudden just comes to our table, pulls out his IPhone, snaps a picture of us eating, and walks away. Guess its for their website. They better not post me on their website without permission. How fucking rude. I wont be returning to Twist again. Ambiance was ok but place is really really small. We arrived at 11/1115 and didn't get our food until roughly 1. It took just as long to get our server as it was for our food. Calamari was the best. It was nice and fresh and not over cooked. I ordered the crab cakes with a side order of asparagus. All of it was bland and crab cake was nasty. I didn't even eat all my food. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! On Valentine's Day I had made a reservation for my boyfriend and I. I called to ask if they would be serving both a prefix menu and their regular menu and I received a very rude response from an employee whom refused to answer my question. At this point I felt uncomfortable bringing my boyfriend here for a romantic evening as I have already been humiliated. It was very unsettling and I made a post to their Facebook page to resolve the issue and I was contacted by the owner who apologized for the issue, however he didn't offer any solutions to make me feel more welcomed. He explained to me that the employee I spoke to was their sous chef who has a language barrier. I am very understanding of these circumstances, however he was not friendly at all nor would he allow me to speak to any other employees. He simply told me that they did not have a Valentine's Day prefix menu, although it is clearly posted all over their Facebook page. I do not understand how an actual CHEF is not aware that they will be cooking a prefix dinner for a holiday. While the owner seems involved in talking to customers as I've seen through Yelp, he doesn't seem to care that the customer service is truly lacking. I thought long and hard about coming here for Valentine's Day and after everything that transpired I decided to cancel my reservation on open table. On the app it said I had to call to cancel. When I called I was told that they weren't taking any reservations for Vday and it was first come first serve. I am SO GLAD that I canceled my plans, otherwise we would have driven all the way to Baltimore to have no table, and likely the response from the owner would be "sorry". I don't want to hear sorry! I want things to be made right. I don't understand how this business is still open. This was an amazing stop on restaurant week. I started out with lamb sausage over roasted eggplant with pita. It was delicious, that lamb sausage was awesome and paired with the eggplant and pita it was a great opening appetizer. The braised lamb shank was incredible, I'm still thinking about it. I've never had meat fall off the bone like that before, and I want to bring everyone I know to try this dish. The tres leches was the only thing that I can complain about. It was a little hard and not the soft texture that I was I was expecting. Would visit again! Amazingggg! Went because of the yelp deal and was not disappointed. We ordered the chicken meal with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies and a steak dinner. The herb butter was a great addition but the steak was just as good without it. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Ordered the tiramisu for dessert.. yummy! Great place!! Went for Valentines Day dinner, and they gave us complimentary champagne which is always a great touch! They had a preset menu for Valentines Day, but I had my heart set on getting the lamb shank that they were kind enough to let us order off the regular menu instead. Charming but strange? We were excited to pass by on a Sunday morning to see that they had a good breakfast menu. We walked in and were greeted immediately by the friendly but seemingly frazzled waiter. We were given a nice table in the back room which was great because we had a baby with us and it gave us some extra space. When we arrived the place was medium busy but by the time we left they were completely full. It took a little time after arriving to get attention, we finally placed drink orders and then waited another 10 minutes for coffee and juice. At that point we then ordered our entrees. The menu itself has a lot of different options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I decided to go with the breakfast burrito. It had a good flavor but almost all of the filling ended up in one half, while the other half ended up being all wrap. The potatoes that came on the side with them were hash browns but were very bland. I had ordered a side of bacon that never made it onto my plate, but did end up on the bill. Unfortunately we were in a rush to leave so had to exit without mentioning it. My wife ordered the white chocolate raspberry pancakes. Overall they were pretty good. The extra points come in because there was a great $15/off coupon on yelp which we discovered half way through breakfast. Overall a cool little restaurant that is a good value. My friend and I ate lunch here last week for Restaurant Week. There's a more casual area in the front, which was were everyone was seated for lunch. We did the pre fixe menu ($15 for 3 courses) for Restaurant Week. For the first course, we both picked the Moroccan soup. It was perfect for a chilly winter day. It had chickpeas and had a pleasant flavor but not as spicy as I imagined. For the second course, I had the lamb burger and my friend had the brown butter mushroom ravioli. My burger was more medium-well than medium, but it was still tasty. I am not a huge fan of mushrooms but the brown butter sauce really complemented the mushroom ravioli. For the final course, I had dark chocolate gelato. It was fine but was definitely more like milk chocolate then dark chocolate (especially since Pintago across the street has a fantastic dark chocolate gelato). My friend had the banana bread pudding, which tasted wonderful! The ice cream did cool the bread though so it was a little too chewy towards the end. Overall, the service was good, it's a convenient location, and the food was a great deal during restaurant week. GREAT food and WONDERFUL service! I took my girl here for breakfast a few weeks ago on a Tuesday morning. We had never been here before but were quickly impressed by both the indoor and exterior atmosphere, as well as the hospitality. I felt like I was back in Greece eating along the waterfront. It has an old world Mediterranean feel with contemporary music and a chill ambiance. The food was DELICIOUS!!! It's very apparent it is prepared with care and attention and embodies many flavors of the Mediterranean and North Africa. Our host and server, Marwen, was very kind and welcoming. He patiently answered all of our questions and was very professional. We enjoyed ourselves so much that I decided to host my girl's surprise birthday dinner there last night. We sat in the back dining room and had a wonderful time. They are a BYOB restaurant, so we came prepared. We enjoyed the mezze appetizer, salads, linguine and shrimp, and the braised lamb shank. There's also a $15 for $30 worth of food deal on Yelp. I got the homemade ravioli and really enjoyed it! The Chardonnay sauce was a tad too salty in my opinion, but the raviolis were amazing! The filling is so flavorful, with all the different types of mushrooms blending together perfectly. The ravioli itself is chewy and tastes really fresh! My boyfriend got the lamb burger so I got to try a few bites of that. The lamb meat patty is well grilled and very well seasoned. An overall juicy, scrumptious burger. Snagged a great deal on Groupon, so my boyfriend and I went here on a weekend evening. Parking is pretty difficult to find since you're in fells point. The place is quite small, but cozy. And we got a decent view of the nearby shops within the area. The service was very friendly here and that makes up the majority of my rating lol. Together we ordered the calamari (highly recommended), twist burger (tasted like any other burger), and chicken and waffles (chicken was okay, but crispy and the waffle was soggy). My friend got the lox bagel plate and the cream cheese was delivered in its individual grocery store bought packaging - we thought that was interesting. Also, the bagel was a very subpar store bought bagel as well. My other friend got a burger for lunch and it was a standard burger. I got the Mediterranean frittata. And, let me say, half the plate was sparsely filled with really riped/soft fruits. The frittata was a standard small frittata with olives, I guess that was the Mediterranean twist. Finding someplace to eat during the COVID pandemic has been difficult. A large part of my troubles have been because restaurant staff haven't been taking proper measures to ensure the safety of their guests and staff. Twist, however, left me pleasantly surprised. There are hand sanitizer and wipes by the front door for customer use, and all staff members are required to wear a mask, which is comforting. They offered me and my family plastic ware and cups instead of thinking we'd be ok with the standard silverware. Huge kudos for that! Through it all, however, I still have to only give them 4 stars because the food was "just ok." The salmon was great, but the vegetables tasted terrible. The turkey panini had too much bread and not enough meat. The best thing that we had was the chicken in waffles, which is their most popular dish I believe. All and all - you can't go wrong with Twist, especially during these weird times. read more

Right away, we were seated in the front of the restaurant, which was pretty empty but had loud, club-like music that did not at all go with the atmosphere. We asked to be moved to the back dining room, which seemed quieter, but were told it was full. The menu has a variety of great options - however, they were out of many of the items we were hoping to try. The food wasn't fresh and I didn't enjoy my steak at all. The lamb was also tough and didn't live up to the menu description. The food was pretty expensive and the quality definitely didn't warrant those prices. We visited the restaurant for brunch this time and had a much more positive experience. We decided to sit at one of the tables outside which was perfect - we could watch everyone coming to and from the Farmers Market which was fun! We had the same waiter as before who was very genuine and provided great services! We both ordered a breakfast dish and were pleased with our selections!
