It was hard to decide what to pick but decided to get the brisket Mac bowl. It was amazing a still hot when I got home. The portion was a lot so I definitely have at least 2 more meals. There were crunchy onion rings on top which added a nice touch. I'm definitely going back to try the spicy chicken bowl as it was a hard choice between the 2.

Tried twisted Mac today. I was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good most of the bowls are $12.99 with the exception of the brisket Mac. We tried the Nashville chicken Mac and the pesto Mac and it was pretty good. I would advise to let it cool off before digging in. It is hot and as it cools the cheese thickens. Fried mac and cheese balls are the bomb! Owner was very kind. The space was clean. They also have subs and pizza so I will be back to try more. Someone had fried and those looked good. Also you get a lot for the price we still took some home and had it with dinner.

Great customer service by Russell! Very clean restaurant, and cute cheese theme. The food is very high quality, even my very picky daughter loved it!!

I finally got to personally visit Twisted Mac, the new restaurant located within the Crestview Village shopping center. I stopped by earlier today to see about ordering a Mac and cheese casserole for a potluck for later. I was happily welcomed by the manager, Russell. He was able to put together a large order of their smoked macaroni and cheese and stated everything is made from scratch and made to order. I noticed there were a lot of Jr. High kids there, and they said they enjoyed hanging out there to get an after-school snack too. I returned later in the afternoon to pick up my order. I am not usually a macaroni and cheese person, but this dish was delicious and does not even compare to the boxed macaroni and cheese.

Stopped by Twisted Mac for dinner tonight the service was amazing! The employees were very friendly and personable . We ended up ordering the smoked mac and then the brisket Mac. Very good! The smoked Gouda was delicious and then the brisket was falling apart. Will definitely be going back! Can't wait to try the appetizers and another Mac n cheese option!

Food was great. Had the Cacio e Pepe Mac and Cheese (I skipped the chicken). It was a huge portion and it was so good! Lots of options here and owner was so nice!

I was craving mac and cheese so we visited Twisted Mac for brisket mac, a meatball sub and a delicious chocolate cake dessert. The place is light, clean, inviting and the service was outstanding. We will be back!

Pesto Mac & Cheese

Found this place on a whim when my friend and I were looking for somewhere new to eat. And who doesn't LOVE mac & cheese??? It's located in a very unassuming spot in the shopping center, right next to Big 5. The location could use a bigger sign for awareness. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. There were a couple of people waiting for what looked like to-go orders. The overall ambiance is quaint and very clean. They also have s couple of tables outside. We asked the employee for a recommendation as well as his favorite item, and he said it was the BBQ Brisket Mac & Cheese. My friend went for that option while I ordered the Pesto Mac & Cheese. Both were delicious. We liked the addition of the pickles in the Brisket Mac & Cheese. My Pesto Mac & Cheese also came with chicken and had great flavor! The portions are big... we both took our leftovers home with us. I will definitely go back so I can try some other items on the menu!

Barbecue chicken mac & cheese to go.

I just tried twisted Mac. The food here is absolutely delicious. I had the barbecue brisket, mac & cheese and barbecue chicken mac & cheese. I would absolutely recommend this new restaurant. It's right next to big five on Manzanita. There is just a tiny little sign above the door. You have to really look for it but it's worth it. The Owner Russell was super nice.

The hostess greeted us with a question. "You ladies came to drink or to eat?" She asked. We came for both! We sat outside near the entrance way. It was a nice shaded corner and it gave some privacy from the plants that were decorated along the entry way. The menu was small and interesting. First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. The ribs-10/10 fall off the bone seasoned well with some kind of green sauce at the bottom. The garlic shrimp- 10/10 in chili garlic oil with focaccia bread. Watermelon tomato salad- 10/10 feta cheese always takes the show! Beef sliders- 10/10 us just being greedy but so good. French fries- 9/10 decent portion! Blackened salmon- 8/10 compared to how flavorful the appetizer's were it made the salmon lack in taste. Something was missing but it was still good loved the coconut milk flavor in the jasmine rice! All in all 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Our server, Jaden, came over to the table right away to introduce himself, provide water, and ask if I wanted to get started with any drinks. I decided to wait for my friends to arrive, and while waiting, I took a look at the food and drink menu. Upon arrival of the two friends, we ordered cocktails first and then decided on food. I ordered the Pink Pony and later the cosmopolitan, and eggs benedict for breakfast. My meal was quite delicious and I finished every morsel on my plate. The poached eggs were done perfectly and I really enjoyed the potatos. We were seated in the interior dining room to the left of the entry and I did not check out the other interior areas of the restaurant, but I loved the Mid Century Modern / Palm Springs vibe. I especially loved the "fly fan" on each table to use because the bar behind where we were sitting was open to the outside. We did not have an issue with flies but the fans are a nice and considerate touch. Jaden provided excellent customer service, checking back as our drinks got low, and checking back on the food, which we all very much enjoyed. When we left there was some live music outside, but we did not stay as it was a pretty warm Sunday on 6/14/26, but I will most definitely return. I'm especially looking forward to returning in the evening when the weather gets a little cooler toward the end of summer. This is a really fun place, with great food and great service!

There are steps first to the area or you can go around a longer way to get to where this is a ramp. There is not clear signage of where this is. It was a very hot day, I went a few days ago. Important factor - I use a walker on good days, wheelchair on worse. Today I was using a walker. They asked indoors or outdoors and because of the heat I asked for indoors. The server / hostess guestured and said "Sit anywhere". But almost all the tables were quite high and require mobility. They were those raised chairs and tables you almost have to climb up to sit. And at the end of the counter there was a lowered portion with two seats that were accessible. However, they were using this counter space for storage with bunches/little buckets of utensils, ketchups, a dirty dish rag, napkins, other various items. To the credit of the man working at the counter part, he did offer to clear it up for me. I did refuse because if you only have two accessible seats inside, using that space as storage sends a message that my business isn't wanted. Same with stores that use the only accessible changing room as storage for all the put backs. It's the principle of the thing. My husband and I ended up leaving and eating somewhere else. I have just moved to the area a couple of months ago and had a good time at one of the coffee shops the week before nearby and like the little downtown Fair Oaks vibe for walking around, local businesses, etc. I hope in the future they can be ready for disabled folks like myself in a similar way that they are for all patrons.

While a booth would be preferable as they can accommodate a group our size, those are prized on Trivia night. This evening, staff brought an additional four stools to the bar so we could all sit. They were out of the "Jackrabbit done gone working(?) Pilsner" so, I ordered the lager. On the special list was a rib eye, but I didn't care for the sides (garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus), so I went with the New York off the main menu which included herbed butter, mashed potatoes, heirloom tomato with crumbled gorgonzola. Steak was done to medium rare perfection, potatoes delicious and I very much enjoyed the tomatoes. Katie ordered a salad, She and JJ shared her margarita pizza. It was huge. We brought some home. Didn't see what the others ordered but all enjoyed their food and drinks. Trivia here is a ton of fun. Friends have hired the emcee for private gatherings.
