This little spot is truly a hidden gem, me and my mom stopped inside for a quick lunch after seeing it in passing by, and I'm so glad we did. I really wanted to try shrimp and grits without bacon. I know that smoky bacon creates that classic "southern comfort" flavor but I prefer letting shrimp shine. The chef was a little skeptical about my request but he still allowed me to order it without bacon. I added a touch of Cholula for smoky heat and created a Mediterranean-forward, chopped tomato rich flavor. They even have pistachio and chocolate croissants! I got the vegetarian omelette and the pistachio smoothie and both were absolutely delicious! If I had to pick a favorite food though it would have to be the perfectly cooked and crispy side of roasted house potatoes. I will literally come back just to eat those again! I find that the presence of the counter gives it a cafe vibe that makes it very easy to feel comfortable as a solo diner. The shakshuka was full of value not just from a flavor and freshness standpoint; you also get a great mix of carbs, fats, and protein in this dish, which I really appreciate as a solo diner. Oftentimes, you go out on your own and have trouble deciding what to order because many dishes are huge and either really carb-forward, fat-forward, or protein-forward, and often not super nutritious. Husband didn't really like his Turkish coffee, it was plain black, without any cardamom or sugar. We had Turkish coffee before at a middle eastern restaurant and it had cardamom and milk. Portions: generous portions, I shared with my daughter and feel full. Healthy options and good range of options for different tastes. Parking: street parking, we got lucky with a spot close by. Space: when we came there was one last table available for us and one was "reserved" yet nobody sat there for a whole hour (are they keeping it for a random VIP?).
