We got the Freddo (which was like a shaken espresso) and that was 7.5/10! The regular iced latte (6/10) was decent but the coffee was not strong enough. It was a lot of milk and not enough coffee. Service was good and the baristas were nice! They don't have a lot of seating indoors but they have a few tables outside

Small line on a Saturday morning with friendly baristas. At this neighborhood staple, I ordered a Karl the Fog, an iced coffee with an earl grey foam top. I wish they had the sippy toppers for the cups to get more of the foam in each sip which was delicious.

Mid ahhh matcha, honestly don't even put matcha on the menu if you can't do it right lol

While in town, we stopped to try an iced cappuccino and iced latte. Service was quick. I was actually jealous of my husband's iced cappuccino. It was the best I have ever had with the foam on top. Inside is small but a few seats. They also had a few tables outside. Definitely will return!

the first and last time i visited was during covid so I never got to step foot inside the store until today! it felt like a little book underneath the stairs and the floral wallpaper was very eye catching. i knew i wanted an iced drink, something caffeinated and not too sweet. the two tonics stood out and i went with the espresso instead of matcha as i was feeling more coffee than tea. i also requested half the amount of citron as i don't like my espresso tonics too sweet. the drink came out in a few minutes and was the perfect afternoon pick-me-up! ill definitely come back again to try other menu items.

Now I will be honest up front, I did not consume coffee here but my husband, who is a barista and coffee snob, did! The shop was minimalistic and clean. Finally somewhere that wasn't crowded! But it was very small and seating was limited which was a bummer. I wish they had more bar seating that wasn't at the actual coffee bar. Simple menu and merch but extremely well done. Tasteful. My husband had high praise for both his espresso and pourover (he got the Guatemalan). I wish I would've been in a coffee mood but I'll just have to come back on future travels!!

tried the new 50:50 drink taiwan style ($4.50)--half cruel summer iced tea, half flash brew coffee ethiopia aricha, with a drop of oat milk. it was certainly interesting and refreshing, but as a latte girl I prefer my milk-based drinks! there were interesting pastries though, such as an ube snickerdoodle cookie I was eyeing.

matcha was mid (not bad not the best) but nice vibes. matcha was also a bit pricey for the taste. need to try their pastries

Great coffee and espresso, friendly service, cool shop. Bench seating around the perimeter, a few tables outside to enjoy your coffee.

Cute interior! Unfortunately I wasn't the biggest fan of the iced cappuccino--tasted a bit sour and more milky than I would have liked :(((

Instead of greeting us or explaining anything politely, he repeatedly rushed us, saying we needed to hurry up and order because they were closing soon. When I calmly asked what time they close, he avoided answering and instead said, "I need to get out of here," and told us to pay quickly so we could leave. What made it even more confusing was that there were still multiple people inside sitting and working on laptops, clearly not being rushed out the same way. When I asked about that, he rolled his eyes and essentially ushered us out the door. I completely understand businesses closing and wanting to wrap up for the day, but there's a respectful and professional way to communicate that. This felt unnecessarily hostile and unwelcoming, especially for a neighborhood coffee shop. Based on this experience alone, I wouldn't return.

There are tons of workout studios in this neighborhood and MNT Pilates and Barre Union are on the same block. I love the benches and table out in front, I always try to sit there because this stretch of Union intersecting with Fillmore is totally bustling. The 45 bus stops right in front so there's always people milling around. It's great for people watching and for being in the middle of it all. Sometimes you can see the Michael's Liquour store cat (located across the street) walking in the front of their store. The inside is basic and could probably do with a remodel. The coffee roaster in the eating area makes it looks a little cluttered. For coffee it's pretty standard but they are one of the only coffee places I know that sells hardboiled eggs, pie, and a Borgia.

The lady that I was watching was there for the matcha and I can understand why now. We tried the Yuzu Matcha Air Cloud and a Caramel Latte because I felt like we needed to try the coffee since it's a Coffee shop though I have to say I was not a fan of the coffee. We arrived just before the line outside started to form. There's seating available inside with a couple of people that seemed to be working. We originally sat in the middle section with the small round table that can't be moved but then a table opened up. There's a gender neutral restroom available that always seemed to have a line though I guess that's what happens at coffee shops. ~~Service: Good. It was quick to order and surprisingly very quick to receive our drinks as well. ~~Best Part: The Matcha. The coffee was a bit too bitter but it could be due to the fact that I do prefer to drink dark roasts. ~~Worst Part: Nit though maybe it's just me where we were expecting there to be a trash at the entrance so that we could throw away our cups as we were leaving but I guess there's no room for the bins at the beginning so you have to walk to the back towards the restroom to throw it away. ~~Tips: Get the matcha. I wanted to get the velvet but it looked so basic compared to the Yuzu matcha air cloud. The Yuzu flavor itself was refreshing in the foam form but I'm very basic when it comes to flavors and shouldn't have mixed the foam in because it was messing with me. ~~Return: Probably not. I wanted to check the receipt because somehow 2 drinks was nearly $20 but I realized there wasn't even an option to get a receipt.

We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. All the baristas were friendly and fast to help.

Coffee was solid across the board. Grabbed an iced americano and it did what it needed to do. Staff were friendly too, happy to chat and talk me through their menu and answer any questions I had. Where Sightglass lost points for me: -Fire up that hot spot, because there's no wifi. -My husband's breakfast sandwich was cold in the middle. -Worst of all... paper straws. I know, dramatic, but I want to enjoy my coffee without the inevitable ticking time bomb of a straw progressively getting more and more soggy with every sip.

Coffee Bodega was just around the corner of my destination, and it was a 5 minute walk from the Embarcadero bus station where I made my stop. The cafe was located in a little alley way next to Tender Greens and an ice cream parlor. I was feeling the earthy vibe of the place. I could see how the place paid homage to South American cultures with their coffee and food (i.e. arepas, empanadas, and alfajores). As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the most welcoming barista, which honestly made my day. She went above and beyond with her friendliness, helpfulness, and overall hospitality. She knew that I wasn't a regular and kindly offered her recommendations of their salted maple latte and mushroom and cheese empanada. Both items did not disappointed. Wanted to purchase coffee and use their bathroom on an early morning Friday. There was only one barista working which seemed to be fine as again still early. There was one person infront of us who was finishing their transaction. The barista then proceeded to making that customer's coffee which is fine - but the barista never acknowledge us. He saw us, looked at us but ZERO acknowledgement. That's fine, it's early, I said to myself. 35 mins later (a bit of exxageration) he finally walked back to the register without saying anything. And so I said hi can I pls get abc. his attention still w the customer infront me. Mind you a few people were starting to pile behind me. He rung me up then walked back to the bar to finish the drink. Then stayed there while chatting w that customer infront of me. Now the folks behind us left. I'm still waiting for my pastry. Ofcourse my very observant self was watching that interaction between the barista and the customer infront of me - they were exchanging phone numbers! So finally I realized that perhaps this is a regular customer that the barista has a crush on and finally asked for her number?! Idk. Would that be the appropriate place and time for it given there are other customers waiting? Def not imo Barista walked back finally greeted me like the first time he's seen me.
