bit less red onion next time, though, or no red onion because it was a pretty powerful flavor. We liked the variety of breads, too, which were so fresh and very flavorful (we tried the cheesy and the everything bagel and liked both). Do not skip the desserts- the cinnamon bread filled with cannoli cream was one of the most delicious and unique things we've had in a while. It's a little hard to eat but that's part of the fun of it :) This was a fun and unique lunch option- definitely recommend!

I came here when they first opened up, and they were already packed. I don't think this place has slowed down yet! Their chimneys are amazing as sandwiches, ice cream, or pastries. The owners story of going from a food truck and a dream to own ing a store front is also pretty cool. Anyway, the place is small and quaint, but the food isn't lacking at all. I got the italian sandwich with the cheese chimney bread. My grandmother got the Hungarian sandwich. The crisp and flakiness on the bread added a great texture to a good hoagie.

For dessert, I chose the Nutty chimney with cinnamon sugar coating and Nutella and walnut filling. The twisted pull was definitely satisfying. My grandmother chose the cinnamon coated chimney cone for her ice cream and it was filling...

This is a smaller cafe type of place that is more of a to-go style. You place an order at the counter, wait 5-10 minutes, and you are ready to go. Service was good and to the point. There's 3 tables with stools if you want to sit inside. It's a small space so I wouldn't bring too many people inside. The food is just...incredible. The chimney bread is like a croissant in that it has layers, but it is also chewy and flavorful. It is a little difficult to eat the sandwich because the ingredient inside will fall out the other end. I recommend trying to roll the bread a little tighter for the sandwich and maybe squeeze the end together so the insides don't fall out. The Hungarian was so fresh tasting and flavorful. The cheese crust outside has a little saltiness which is needed. The vegetables are crisp and the red onion is so thin it tames the usual bite which is appreciated.

The Nutty has all the right textures thanks to the walnuts and the Nutella. Excellent pairing of flavors and hard to put down. The S'mores is interesting because of the sprinkles but I think it almost does a disservice to the bread....

I've been wanting to come to this bakery for a long time. I finally made it, the restaurant bakery is very clean and modern. They were very helpful and gave me recommendations. I settled for the Hungarian sandwich and I tried the cannoli and pistachio twists. I loved all- they were delicious! I can't wait to go back!

I've had this place bookmarked for a couple months and finally had a chance to try this Hungarian chimney in Herndon! I came a little after opening time on a Saturday morning. They were surprisingly not set up, with the chimneys not in the display. If I were able to see the chimneys in the display, I probably would have created my own. I ended up just ordering something off the menu since I didn't get a chance to see the options up front/in person. I selected the Pistachella. It didn't taste/feel like it was freshly made (considering I've had freshly made ones in TX). However, the flavors were great, with the combination of nutella and shredded pistachios. I'm curious to try the savory chimney, and create my own sweet one. Customer service was okay, enough to be able to place the order. There was parking in front of the establishment. Would I return? definitely if I'm in the area.

If you like a simple sandwich with all the flavor and layers of textures, you NEED to go to Twisted Sweets and Savory. When you enter, you are greeted by the sweet bakery aromas from their sweet chimneys. There is an extensive menu for classic sandwiches and you chose what flavor chimney you'd like it pair it with. The chimney style bread solves the bread:filling ratio dilemma presented by the average sandwich. I ordered the turkey, caprese, smoked salmon and buffalo chicken. All were absolute hits. You will also enjoy this place!

OMG! This place is fabulous! I've never had a more delicious sandwich! I will be craving one forever now! I got the tuna salad on an everything chimney. YUMMMM. An absolute gem : the price and taste of the chimney sandwiches and the speed of service. There were 4 flavors of chimney bread for sandwiches: cheese, everything bagel, jalapeño cheese, and walnut. The everything bagel was nice and salty. There is a vegetarian sandwich that is terrific. The prices are NORMAL. There are tables and chairs inside, but is like a deli. Can dine in or take out.

This is a very interesting restaurant in a shopping center in Herndon. The food is excellent. The chimney sandwiches were very unique and crunchy/spongey. We ordered the Hungarian and a ham and cheese. The Hungarian was delicious and had fresh vegetables and a Hungarian mayo. My daughter declared the ham and cheese the best one she has ever had! These are so soft, flavorful and addicting! Absolutely a must try and worth the consistent 5 star rating! We tried the coconut stuffed with Nutella and I can't wait to try other flavors. You can choose between Nutella, dolce de leche and cream cheese frostings to stuff inside a variety of flaky pastries. Specifically, I really want to try the pastry stuffed with ice cream. They called us a sweet chimney and you can fill it with your choice of Nutella, dolce de Leche, or marshmallow fluff, and then pick your ice cream flavor. There are about five different ice cream flavors and then you can even add toppings! Service was helpful. Located in a spacious 10-table spot in a strip mall, this unassuming bakery is a great find.

Twisted Sweets and Savory is an authentic Hungarian gem! Having visited family in Hungary, I always enjoyed kürtőskalács (chimney cakes) and would get cravings for it. The owner, Julianna, has not only perfected this delicious treat but has also put her own *twist* on it by making savory options for sandwiches. Which I now also get cravings for!!! 10/10 I recommend this place, so glad it's right here in Herndon.

This restaurant/take out is a gem. I've mostly done take out but ate there once. FYI, very small restaurant seating if you plan to dine-in during rush hours. Now on to their sandwiches. Very unique as they are called chimney sandwich. Basically hollow bread with yummy fillings in the middle. We tried Chicken salad(my favorite with fresh crisp veggies included), Tuna, limited time Reuben. Also tried the sweet Cannoli sandwich. For me the issue is once I like a sandwich, it becomes hard for me to try others. Wish I can get half and half... I know I can at least split a sweet chimney with my family so looking forward to trying other sweet chimneys. Almost forgot my other favorite item from this place. I love their pickles that come with the sandwich.

OMG, I am always craving this delightful Hungarian chimney sandwich. From the fresh baked chimney to the fresh ingredients inside, it all just melts in your mouth. You can choose from a sweet or savory chimney. My favorite is the Hungarian sandwich. It's the perfect amount of spread, meats, cheese and veggies and the chimney is soft and chewy with each bite. I just wish they were located a bit closer to me so I could go more often!

I stopped by as I was driving past because I was interested in seeing what they had but it turned out they were closing just as I walked in.. The young man was so nice and helpful and he apologized and gave me a free sample of a cinnamon twist thing and I left so happy. I'm definitely coming back just because of this nice gesture. Went in for lunch around 11:30, but the restaurant got busy quick. We ordered the salmon and Italian sandwiches with everything bread. The bread was delicious and had a wonderful crispy texture, but very soft on the inside. Even though the chimneys didn't look big, they load up the sandwiches inside. They were delicious! We also had a pistachio Nutella chimney for desert and it was out of this world. The service was very quick and very friendly. Inside the restaurant was spotless. Must stop if in the area for lunch, highly recommend for a lunch stop or desert.

A 5 stars for service, food-quality, uniqueness, and price. This is the kind of small business we need more of. The owners here are friendly and genuinely care about their customers, not to mention care deeply about the quality of food/options. They make it themselves! I've come here three times, twice for the sweets (ice cream chimney s'more which was amazing and the Oreo chimney), and once for their vegetarian sandwiches; both were high quality, flavorful, and delicious. The ambiance/space - although limited in seating - was cute, too. I can see this place grow into bigger Hungarian café serving more even options. Great job!

I recently found out about this place from a client and let me tell you - it did not disappoint! Being my first time there I kept it traditional and tried "The Hungarian" sandwich and it was delicious. The bread is incredible and super unique and the meats and toppings are super fresh. It was one of the better sandwiches I have had in awhile. Happy that Herndon has non-chain gems like this and will continue to support. Definitely give this one a try! read more

I've never had Hungarian food but these sandwiches were amazing. That rolled bagel/ bread they use was so good with the right crunch. the meat to bread ratio was perfect. I ordered a turkey on the jalapeño twist and added roast beef and it hit the spot. Will definetly return for the sandwiches and try the sweet twists. Service was excellent. Small shop with maybe 5 to 6 tables but definitely worth a try you can't possible be disappointed if you like sandwiches. read more

Came on a busy Saturday and ordered 2 savory (Hungarian and turkey) and one sweet (bounty). The wait wasn't too bad for how busy the small space was and knowing that the food is made to order. The twisted bread sandwiches held up to a short 20 minute drive and were delicious. Well worth going out of your way for! The bounty was also very good, but I think it would be better with a different sweet roll, maybe the coconut or cocoa instead of the cinnamon sugar, and next time I will probably request that substitution. We will definitely return! read more

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this Hungarian sweets shop that specializes in selling chimney cakes, and I must say that everything looks so delicious! What I loved most about this sweets shop was the fact that they offer a wide variety of different flavors and toppings, so there is something for everyone. From classic cinnamon sugar to more adventurous options like Nutella and Oreo, there is no shortage of options to choose from. They also have savory options like everything bagel and jalapeño cheddar. I tried an Oreo chimney with soft serve icecream. The chimney is fluffy when warm, but felt a bit stale when it was cold with the icecream. Nonetheless, it was a good balance of sweetness and texture. I was a bit disappointed that the staff didn't provide information about the chimney cakes. I would have loved to know more about the flavor variety and tastes. Love the chicken salad on cheddar jalapeño chimney. It's super filling and makes two meals, eating half each time or sharing. The jalapeños get hotter if you save half for later but I like heat. The veggie toppings are so fresh and crunchy. Also, the sweet chimneys I've tried have all been delicious. Glad I work close and can stop in when I want.if I wasn't on such a tight budget. I'd be there more frequently as every thing is fresh and delicious. If you're in the area, this is a must visit. read more

It's a very little small shop with like 3 high top seatings. It's more of an order and go kinda place. Heard about this place from a friend and had to try it. I really did enjoy their Hungarian sandwich which was highly recommended because of its popularity, it wasn't anything fancy but it was pretty good for how simple it was. The Oreo chimney was so good! They use it to offer soft serves to! Service on the other hand was ok. It wasn't friendly but wasn't terrible either, I think they might be so busy that they just take your order and get on with. Upon arrival a guy walked up and didn't greet us, he was just on the screen looking and tapping away, we stood there for quite sometime before someone helped, a lady walked up to let him know we were standing In front of him. Could of just been a busy day for them. Overall I'd come back. Good amount of parking. read more

This was the best freshest deli sandwich I have had in a long time. now the ice cream and the yummy twisted sugar breads OMG. the ice cream was awesome, the oreo smores twisted sugar bread with marshmallow fluff and sprinkles was fantastic. Go there and enjoy a fantastic sandwich with twisted bread, and get the ice cream dessert just because it is amazing!!! Awesome place we will be back!!! read more

oh my gosh- this tiny little cute restaurant hidden in the corner is THE best! I came with a gf last week- we each got a sandwich (the ham and swiss on a jalapeno chimney): messy but DELICIOUS!! Do I try the "coffee toffee" or "salted caramel". Since I really like "salted caramel", that was what I chose. As I sat there eating it, I found myself wishing that I had chosen "coffee toffee". Try as I might, I barely tasted any caramel and absolutely no salt. What a disappointment! If they are going to offer this flavor, then it would be expected to be able to clearly taste the salt and the caramel. Both times, service was good at the Reston location, no problems there. As for ambiance, it's quiet and laid back (at least it was that way when I was there). All that said, I may go back at some point and try another flavor. Well...time will tell..

Indeed, most of the Vietnamese clientele in the small restaurant seemed to be enjoying hot bowls of bun bo hue, so I went with a bowl of that and my non-beef-eating wife chose the bun rieu. The bun bo hue possessed a clean yet very flavorful broth with notes of lemongrass and hot chili. The meat portions included generous slices of beef shank, pork trotter, blood cake, and pork sausage. Some of the beef shank cuts were a little tough, but the meats otherwise tasted up to par. The accoutrement of herbs and veggies included some authentic, hard to find garnishes such as banana blossom and Vietnamese coriander, which added a fresh, crunchy bite to complement the heady soup. Overall, this was an excellent bun bo hue and rivals many you can get at Eden Center. Similarly, my wife's bun rieu was superb. The broth had a light body but a very distinct and savory shellfish flavor. The crab and shrimp paste had a very silky texture and the bouncy fried tofu cubes soaked up the tomatoey broth perfectly. The bun rieu ran just a touch salty overall, but nonetheless is among the better renditions we have tasted in the area. Our bowls were about $18 each. While a bit steep, the portions satisfied and the quality of ingredients merited the cost. As the name alludes, bubble tea is also served here. My wife enjoyed a solid taro milk tea along with her noodle soup. We have gotten drinks from here in the past and find the offerings above average though, unlike the awesome soups, not necessarily worthy of a dedicated stop. Teabreak also serves other Vietnamese dishes such as banh mi and meats over broken rice, which actually looked quite appetizing coming out of the kitchen. I give this place a solid 4 stars for really tasty, specialty noodle soups and can easily foresee a five star upgrade in the near future after sampling some more dishes.
