There isn't a lot of seating available, but I guess they do a lot of takeout business and we certainly had no trouble getting seating on this visit. They are open two days a week, so you might want to confirm they are open before you go. The atmosphere and the service were terrific, as were the hot tender (bare) chicken wings we ordered. My wife wanted to try a special pizza they were offering that day, and I can't say I liked it as much as she (and others) did, but I suspect I would have liked a classic tomato sauce-based pizza much more, so it is just a matter of taste rather than quality. I imagine we will going out there again sometime, but I hope the roads are bare next time!

Placed between beautiful Main Stream and a quaint dairy farm, step inside this hidden gem and take in the modern contrast of good tunes and graffiti artwork. If you're looking for a bite to eat, ask about their specialty pizza of the week. It's sure to be differently delicious. Or try their wings if that's more your style. Whatever you prefer it's sure to cure the drunkies! East Outlet is surely worthy of being deemed "The Spot" if you're looking for a personal experience in one of Maine's dopest brewery.

We had the Barrel of Souls (an aged stout) and a honey mead/beer mix (I can't remember the name). Both were delicious, but the mead/beer was our favorite, the two flavors complemented each other very well. The bartender was super nice and had some suggestions for local shops to check out. The atmosphere was perfect, just a small space with a lot of vibes. This is somewhere I will definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

We went for dinner because two people in our party were vegan and this menu had vegan options which we appreciate so much. I don't believe it's her fault as there is no kitchen in this establishment, but the food was bad. Some of it was not fit for consumption, and, to their credit, I was not charged for those items that were inedible. I suspect the food would be great if she had what she needed to do her job, because the menu was really interesting. It's a local place with nice local people and we always try to support those businesses when we visit a town. But you cannot cook meals using one hot plate and an air fryer, or store restaurant grade food in a college refrigerator for extended periods. Go for the beer, but don't eat the food until this team can upgrade to keep everyone safe.

I like the Blackened Haddock Tacos and the pretzel sticks. Pro Tip: get BOTH the "beer cheese" and the "beer mustard" and get extra of both. You might have extra, but you can use the extra on sandwiches tomorrow. The extra mustard is also great with cheese and crackers as a snack. The blueberry cobbler is fantastic! The peanut butter pretzel pie did not impress my husband; he said the pretzels themselves tasted cheap, like grocery store pretzels. I have been trying to get them to add a vegetarian pasty to the menu. They have almost nothing vegetarian in there, and a Greggs style cheese and onion pasty would also be extremely traditional and surely wildly popular. PLEASE ADD A VEGETARIAN PASTY!! And/or a fish pasty, which would also be very traditional. Oooh, what about a Stargazy Pasty with leeks and cream? Now, THAT would be traditional and would certainly get some media attention. I will raise my rating to 5 stars as soon as this place adds a good vegetarian or fish Signature Entree (preferably a pasty!!). That is literally the only reason they're not getting 5 stars, that it's way too oriented towards meat eaters. (They do have a grilled cheese toasty and a vegan garden burger, so I would still go there if you are vegetarian or vegan, but keep your expectations low when it comes to selection.)

Bangor Beer Co. in Bangor, ME for a few pints & some easy eats for the last of four breweries on…read moreour trip in & around the city. Another new brewery for me, I was barely familiar with the brand other than enjoying the DISCO SASQUATCH DIPA in can back in mid 2025. These guys were established in late 2017 & will be celebrating ten years next year in 2027. This area is beyond flooded with taverns, restaurants & a good amount of breweries, but with a name like Bangor Beer Co. it felt appropriate to check it out while staying in the city. The brewery is attached to the Oriental Jade restaurant which also doubles as a kitchen for the brewery with a mix of American & Asian/Chinese food. A good amount of different styles represented on the menu with a emphasis on various IPA's, some lighter beers like a Kolsch, Lager, Gose, Cream Ale, Seltzer & more. Let's check out the three pints I scooped & get into the beer a little more here. I started off with a pint of the BRITE Lager, a excellent light bodied Helles that brought just the right balance of malts & hops. This was a great crisp & smooth starter with a subtle sweet honey finish. I then grabbed a 10oz pour of the HABITAP Kolsch, it was another solid light offering with a malty, bready & sweet flavor. Even at a light 4.5%ABV it still had a good amount of layers & was something you could crush a few of for sure. I finished with a pint of the delicious JURI IPA, this was a super hazy New England IPA that brought the juice at a perfect 7.3%ABV. Theres some guava & passionfruit gimmicks here with a ton of tropical flavor that easily made this my favorite beer of the visit. We ordered the Totchos, which if you have followed my pages you know I'm a tot slut. These were as good as expected with cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, avocado & savory sauce. Then came the Bao Buns with Pork Belly which changed the game. There was a lot of food stuffed in the buns with the pork belly, pickled vegetables, hoisin & cherry chili sauce to finish it off. I left devastatingly stuffed along with the beers & couldn't have put anything else in my body if I tried. All your usual seating options here including tables, hightops & bar with a patio area outside. Plenty of beer to go for home or tastings with friends later. Great spot & definitely BEERGASM worthy with those light beers & dank IPA standing out. Cheers!

Let me tell you, there is nothing "big box" about this place. It's quirky and fun. Outside is a garden area for nicer weather and I believe they have live music at times as well. Graffiti-style murals including Rick & Morty (can't find my exterior pics anywhere) and other fun stuff. They even had a bouncy house when we were there. And yep, we bounced around like kids. The interior of the brewery is also pretty quirky, chill, and fun. The employees and clientele are super cool & welcoming. They have a decent food menu that includes stuff from Oriental Jade (Asian restaurant that served Chinese and Japanese food). Oriental Jade had been around for decades. If you're a Stephen King fan, you know all about it. Their food is yum. Anyway, Bangor Beer has a lot of other offerings like fish & chips, burgers, typical fare that tastes anything but typical. The drinks: Yes they're a craft brewery and they also offer cocktails and mocktails. I've only had beer (did try the NA beer that had & it was good). Their pours are of the highest caliber. The taproom has 12-13 different beers on draft at any given time. And of course, beers to go (cans). Draft beers in growlers too. Oddball is probably my favorite. It's an oat stout that sits just right on the tastebuds. The 10-12 is a great IPA with just the right amount of hops. Total A+ spot.

It did not disappoint, but then some of us were distracted by the Lumberjack Lemonade (also worth the distraction), and decided to stay for food. So glad!!! It was interesting, unique (maple balsamic dressing, blueberry bbq sauce) and every bite delicious. Pesto Flatbread, pulled pork, Mac and cheese (with pulled pork), sweet potato fries (surprisingly amazing), French onion soup reportedly delicious. Service superb (thanks Jess!) and everyone so friendly. If I am ever around here again I would come straight here. Yummmmmmmmmmmm. Only downside was extremely limited wine selections for my wine drinking friend. Maybe have a couple more options, like Pinot Grisio.

The staff could not make some of the drinks because there was no bartender. When they did get a bartender, we were ignored for people that he knew for 45-55 minutes. My father, uncle and husband left after an hour of being ignored. One of the owners had come in at this point and apologized for the delay in service. We were comped a round of drinks at this point. This is a beautiful place and the food that we did get was good. It is a shame that they will probably fail due to poor management/training. I will say that I had a large party but there were only 2 other tables with people at them when we got there. It was Riverfest this past weekend so they should have expected a larger lunch crowd and been adequately staffed. I was up their 4th of July weekend and had a much better experience. If employees are blatantly ignoring customers for their friends, you have a big problem.
