The gentlemen on the phone (yes, I called multiple times to update my list of furniture and discuss the move) were always kind, helpful, and patient. My old house was on a private lane with a challenging driveway entry situation. They were able to do an initial drive-by to figure out how to best address the potential problem. Fortunately, they constructed a solution that would work best and be the most cost-effective for me. The movers were very prompt, arriving on time, a little after 7 in the morning. They did an initial walk-through with me so that they knew exactly what I was taking and what was supposed to be left in the garage for Habitat for Humanity. I was then allowed to head to my new house to start unpacking boxes while they moved the furniture onto their truck. When they were close to finishing, they called me to return to my old house so that we could do a final walk-through to make sure they didn't leave anything behind. Then we all headed to my new house, where I directed them on where to put everything. The team of 4 worked seamlessly and had nothing but respect for one another, for me, my furniture, and my home. Once everything was moved into my house, they did one final walk-through to move anything I wanted moved. Additionally, I had 2 very challenging items to move: an exercise machine and a massage chair. They figured out how to disassemble and reassemble both of them, which was quite a feat. On top of everything else, they did not once scrape up a wall or my furniture; they were all super careful. I'm sorry I didn't get everybody's name to compliment; this was such a busy time for me. After my experience with College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving, I was completely frustrated. I had…read morescheduled them to arrive between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., but instead they called that morning wanting to come early. I was initially quoted around $800 to remove the items from my father's estate, but when the crew finally arrived around 7:00 p.m., the estimate suddenly jumped to over $3,000. At that point, I told them to forget it. Still needing a very heavy antique Mosler safe removed, I called Gone Guys in Glenview. Other companies had quoted me anywhere from $2,500 to $3,000 just to move the safe. Gone Guys quoted me $450, arrived exactly when they said they would, and their crew was professional, efficient, and courteous. They not only removed the safe without any issues but also helped move several additional items. I would absolutely use Gone Guys again and highly recommend them for moving, estate cleanouts, heavy-item removal, or junk hauling. They were honest, straightforward, dependable, and delivered exactly what they promised. My experience with them was night and day compared to College Hunks.

This was my first time using this service. Customer service was amazing! They really worked with…read moreme on every problem that I came across. Example: I needed to change my move dates by 2 days it was incredibly easy to change it. Second example: I was having trouble opening and closing my box. I called the office and they sent someone out immediately to WD 40 it and show me how to correctly close the box. I wasn't completely bringing the handle over to the left. Third example: They issue safety vests to wear while you are loading your boxes. There are semi trucks coming and going with loads of our boxes and merchandise, so you need to be careful and the truckers need to see you. They follow rules for our safety and they do care. Make sure you wear your vest! It was easy to call and speak to customer service. Make sure you have your info ready so they can help you with all the details. I ended up renting 2 boxes from U Pack. My contents all fit inside a 12 foot moving truck that I rented from Home Depot. If you have a lot of furniture you may need to use U Haul to transfer your items. You DO have the option of having the boxes delivered to your home instead of the facility. It was less expensive for me to pack at the facility and transfer to the closest facility in my new state and rent a truck to haul the final distance. There are many options for you to choose from: Renting space in the semi, Having boxes delivered to your home to pack them up to 3 days in advance of moving or you can pack at the facility itself and save more money. The downside? Only getting a couple of days to pack is not enough time. I hope they change this in the future (two weeks would be better). The second downside was when my boxes arrived the Knoxville location didn't set the boxes completely on the pavement they were leaning against U Pack boxes behind mine that slanted them forward. When I opened the boxes all of my items came tumbling out due to the slant. This is NOT U Pack's fault, but the fault of the forklift operator who moved the boxes. I still give this company 5 stars. My boxes arrived quickly to the destination. Very few items were damaged. The customer service was wonderful. The workers from the office workers to truck drivers also really seem to like working for this company. That says a lot. I highly recommend this company for people who are moving by themselves, have to move quickly, moving on a budget, moving to another state or are even moving within the city. They also offered the best rates. They know what they are doing. Cut them some slack nothing is perfect. I had a couple small items that were damaged, but I had to expect that not all of my items would arrive perfect. Pack well and strap it down well. Happy moving.

We called them on Easter Sunday at 7:15 am hoping they might be able to help us out. They picked up immediately and said they could be at our apartment as soon as 8:00 am!! On Easter Sunday!!!! It was an Easter miracle! They charged 70 bucks an hour for two guys, or offered us 4 guys for 140 an hour. We took two guys since we said we would be helping out as well. It was an additional $100 for the truck rental on their end and they called us the moment they were outside. There were no additional side charges. Period. Just $100 dollars plus $70 per hour. SUPER good deal! I received a quote from one other place, and the other place had me fill out a huge quote for, and quoted me over 500. We had a bunch of other boxes and small stuff but told them to just grab the big stuff. In total we had the following items to move: 1 couch that pulled out to a queen sized bed, 1 dining room hutch, 1 huge cat tree, 1 enormous dining room table, 1 queen sized bed and giant mattress, 1 large dresser, 1 TV stand, 1 coffee table, 1 kitchen block/cart, 1 large cupboard, 1 Huge desk with a versa desk on top, 1 entry way bench, and 1 set of file cabinet drawers. We lived on the first floor of an apartment building (still had a flight of stairs to go down) and we were moving to the 2nd floor of a new place just down the street (still had about 3 flights of stairs). Both places had very difficult back stairwells (common with old apartment buildings) to maneuver. Mark and William showed up and did an absolutely stellar job. They took a total of 2.5 hours and took incredible care of every one of our items. In total, our final bill $275. These guys rocked and the price was so reasonable. I was literally in shock watching how quickly and efficiently they moved. They were lifting things as if the items weighed nothing. At one point one of them had the set of file cabinet drawers strapped to their back and just breezed up the back stairs. I literally couldn't believe it! They were so so so friendly and kind. I would recommend A&R moving to anyone and everyone!!!!!!
