Service was slow/non-existent and food was dreadful. When we arrived, there was no host/hostess to greet and seat patrons. We stood in the waiting area for quite some time and in spite of several staff members seeing us waiting, no one acknowledged us or assisted us. They were more interested in jabbering amongst themselves. That should have been our clue to leave immediately. The service was generally slow which was surprising given the near empty state of the place. The waitstaff seemed generally disinterested in assisting patrons, making recommendations regarding the menu, or even addressing feedback regarding the poor quality of one of your signature dishes - The Cuban Sandwich that my friend ordered. Additionally, the Jan's Burrito (chicken) dish was just a soggy mess of goo and in all honesty a trip to Taco Bell would have been much better and cheaper. The crunchy tacos are at the level of Taco Bell and the beans with bacon and onion seem out of place. The chips and salsa were decent. Normally a decent meal, usually have minor service issues, but on Valentines day it is expected to be backed up. So we waited 50 minutes for 2 meals & our daughters meal we ordered early so she wouldn't have to wait, they totally forgot. My salmon was missing its sauce & half my veggies were raw. My hubby, who would eat any meat, got an unseasoned steak that "tastes like the iron grill", & 1/2 cooked baked potato. But I would say the thing that bothered me the most, was the 4 teenaged hostesses in skirts so short one of them was bordering porn star. Two Rows has some really good daily specials. The $6 hamburgers on Tuesdays are especially nice. The burgers are big and tasty. My only gripe is that they seem to get a little cheap on the fries. Guys, it's not cool to see the white plate below the fries because you're trying to space them out to make them appear like you're getting more. Very generous with the burger, cutting corners on the fries. There shouldn't be a difference in portion just because it's a daily special. Otherwise, the people are great (management and servers). They cooked veggies super-done so I could mash them for my infant grandson. The mac n cheese was devoured by my toddler grandson. The service was great as well. Stopped in for lunch today and had the teriyaki chicken with broccoli and Mac and cheese and it came with a muffin. Tastes very good and fresh. The teriyaki sauce was a bit bland but not to bad. Also has some chips and salsa which were also good. For dessert the brownie explosion tasted great and was prepared tableside, it could easily serve three, it's huge. Have been coming to Two Rows for years. It's one of our go-to restaurants in Allen. The bacon ranch burger is my favorite. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the level of service has dropped in the last few months. Not sure if it's training or pandemic staff related but I hope it improves. The wait staff we've been getting recently kind of ignore us which is odd for someone wanting a decent tip. It wasn't this way pre-pandemic. This was my 2nd time being here and my first experience was great, so good that I came back a second time. DO NOT get the buffet on sunday. This is our new family go to! The menu covers everyone. Some Mexican, Homestyle and Italian so everyone can be happy. We love their margaritas and mojitos. The Macaroni and Cheese is so good and you get a big portions. So is the honey pepper bacon wrapped shrimp. I've had their potatoes and one guys posted on yelp they were instant but they tasted fresh to me. My son has had the pork enchiladas (they have a green sauce that's a bit spicy) and the street tacos were delicious. Me and my fiancé have been to countless restaurants in the past 2-3 months as everything is starting to open back up and recover from Covid-19 shut downs. We've noticed that obviously people are not only starting to quit and most restaurants are understaffed BUT also the customer service has been lacking SEVERELY. I met the owner today at work and I really liked him from the get go and he was in uniform so I asked if he's close due to me never hearing about it and to my surprise it was 10 minutes down the street! Came in looking just to just support a local restaurant and thought it'd be nice to try something new. Although we've been experiencing the lack of service like I said earlier this place was far from that. We had Wade as our server and he made me and my fiancé feel very comfortable and happy! Always with a smile on his face and the recommendations were on point to the point that we had 2 appetizers 2 entrees and a dessert. We couldn't eat it all but EVERYTIME he recommended something it was exactly what we didn't even know we wanted and we LOVED it. He always stopped to clean the table or would offer boxes once we'd slow down and push our plates away. NEEDLESS TO SAY Wade and the food obviously made this a place we will for sure come back to and those reasons are why I give it 5 stars. Mr.Booker, if you're reading this... Plain & simple: The honey pepper bacon burger is to die for. They will cook it to order (meduim rare, duh!) unlike a lot of burger joints who always overcook a burger. Every time I eat one I am sure it was the best burger ever. MMM! The chicken strips were coated with just the right amount of batter and had a great crunch. The chicken was tender and juicy inside. Started out strong and faded fast! Server was very nice but equally slow. Ordered the chicken fajita nachos pretty good but you don't get a whole lot for the cost. When our food came it had issues. My ranch and cheddar burger was good but room temperature, the grande burger was seriously lacking, 1 1/2 slices of cheese topped this burger it came out without its bacon and the Mac n cheese was hot and creamy the muffin/bun seemed dry but worked well so soak up cheese off the plate. Management came to check on us and "bought us" dessert the chocolate fantasy was very rich but pretty good. I've only been there for their Sunday Brunch Buffet, but that was a great Buffet. I take the whole family there on Sunday. Rarely do I have to wait more than 5 minutes. The food is EXCELLENT. The pricing is very fair (especially because their signature sweet pepper bacon is included) in the buffet. Their Bloody Mary is very good, but I'm usually too full to drink one! After seeing this restaurant go in next to the hotel where my parents always stay, we finally gave it a try last night. The service was great, the patio dining was perfect, and we all enjoyed our food. My mom and I shared a wood-fire pizza that we finished off. My kids had burgers that were the size of most standard burgers, and they made a custom-order shrimp dinner for my dad. We also loved the giant brownie prepared with sauces in front of us and the peach cobbler with a nutmeg-infused flavoring. On the patio it was quiet (except maybe for my two small kids), which melded with the perfect weather to make a beautiful setting. A nice bonus: No smoking on the patio. We came back for the Mother's Day buffet this morning with my in-laws, and we weren't disappointed. The food was plentiful, with a true brunch variety and was all good. Even the simple breakfast pastries were perfectly flaky. The server was very friendly and had plates and paper bits out of our way very quickly the whole time (and the place was packed). It was somewhat noisy with chatter and plate clatter, but given that it was full to the brim and people were getting multiple plates for the buffet, it wasn't terrible. We were able to hear each other talk, so it was acceptable. They opened at 8 am for Mother's Day, which was nice (they offer brunch every Sunday, though this one was a bit larger than normal). We arrived at 9 am and got a table for eight right away, though there was waiting soon after. The only bummer was that the $2.50 mimosas (a weekly thing) weren't served until 10 am. Blame the city of Allen for that one, though. We will definitely come back again. read more
