This is a great spot to go for dim sum with friendly service. The carts that come around with a variety of options that are hot from the kitchen. They're good at showing you each dish and not making you feel weird about not knowing what everything is called. Pro tip: they have soy sauce with jalapeños AND chili/hot oil. I prefer dim sum over entree dishes because you can try a little of everything. They have some of the classic dishes and a couple things I don't normally order. I was finishing some work and decided to have a meal delivered and the site offered contact-free (leave on doorstep) option, which I really appreciate - especially for the delivery driver. I live within 2 miles of the restaurant and it was early (4:45pm) but I had my food delivered so fast, I could not believe it - quality was exceptional as always and very satisfying. My order? And we were blown away by the quality of the dishes and the friendly service. This is now our favorite dim sum in the city! Today we stopped in for a easy going Christmas dim sum brunch. They opened at 10:30 and we arrived at 10:35 and there were already a bunch of cars outside. We were asked if we had a reservation, but we didn't. They still managed to squeeze us in but by 11am the whole restaurant was packed so we will definitely make a reservation next time. And there will definitely be a next time! Made reservations for the family for Ty Ginger's Sunday dim sum. Pay attention to your order, if you do go for dim sum, as the menu does NOT have prices. Six of us adults, and the final bill was $269 and change. We had several leftovers, too. The biggest question mark pertained to the dim sum ordering process. Instead of the small plates coming around on carts, allowing us to order as we ate, our waiter told us we had to order everything at once and they would bring the items out as the orders came up. This was a pain in the rump, as we couldn't just eat till we were full, then stop. Instead, having to order from the sheet of paper, we over-ordered. ALSO, my biggest disappointment was I couldn't keep the dishes straight as to what they were, since time pasted between ordering and the dishes being brought to the table. I don't remember the names, thus pictures are "loosely" labeled. We got our drinks first, of course. My taro bubble tea with milk was not very good. The tapioca balls had an odd flavor - not sweet. Most of the plates, however, were tasty. Liked the potstickers, the crab rangoon was great, and the shrimp balls were on the addicting side. We did try the mango buns, and the mango purée was more paste, kind of a grittiness to it that wasn't too appeasing; obviously a personal preference. Like I said, there were several really tasty dishes that we devoured. Service was good and there wasn't much of a wait for the food to come out after we ordered. A few of my favorites were the law mei gai, stuffed crab claws, turnip cake, and mango pomelo sago. All of the food had really good flavor, but the law mei gai definitely stood out as the best. I actually found myself thinking about it later in the day after I left the restaurant... it's that good. We live about 45 minutes from the place but we have been there four times over the past year. We would have gone more if Covid hadn't happened. Each time we go, we order so much food to try, share, and of course our favorites. My husband's birthday was the 10th and he loves their crunchy pan fried noodles with chicken and mushrooms so we headed down. I asked for recommendations for soup dumplings and I had everyone tell me this place was the best. It's good, but I wouldn't say that best. First of all please update your hours between your website,yelp and Google not a single one is right. They all said between 930-10 you closed. I called on my way Wednesday night since it's a long drive they stop seating at 830 and close at 9. I was real disappointed, so I came the next day. The best food I ate personally was the bbq pork buns and egg rolls they were amazing. I came for the soup dumplings they were good, but not great half of them didn't have soup in them and they didn't give you the spoons to hold the dumpling while to poke the hole. The prices range from $5 to $8 for there regular dim sum items, which for the small portions it's okay not great but not horribly overpriced. The crab Rangoon was good as well as the pot stickers. We typically love siu mai but didn't like this at all it was super chewy not a good flavor and no sauce. That was also disappointing was a lot of these did not come with a sauce, which makes them a bit dry. We did not like the fish balls the marinade in it just wasn't tasty to us. Service was friendly but it took several minutes standing at the host stand with someone there for them to acknowledge us and seat us. Also, it was hard to find a server to ask if you needed anything. I still want to come back on the weekends for baked buns and rice noodles. So, I have been there several times after the second visit. The waiting time is much shorter and the service is muuuuuuuch better. At first time, they sold out their dim sum; therefore, I cannot make comments on the change of food quality. However, it is pretty good. The dim sum should be one of the best dim sums in Midwest.
