Bulalo - rich beef broth served with cabbage and green beans -
    Bing R.

They make Filipino food exactly how you would have had it at someone's Home back in the Philippines. It is not fusion. It is the real thing. Food to get here is Fried pork with crispy skin. Also their big bowl of Bulalo which is made with rich beef broth and so tender giant bone with lots of marrow and ligaments around the bone. It also has lots of cabbage. Actually this alone is sufficient for 2 people which is a meal in itself. But if you 6 people - then you can get 1 dish each but eat it like family style plus rice.

Loved all the items I had here! Favorites were literally everything I ordered, which were the laing, dinugyan, and especially the sisig pork. The palabok was just ok for me. So happy I found Tyang. Will be trying other dishes from here soon!

    Tyang Gelay's Breakfast Overload

We made it this time early enough for Filipino breakfast ( only served until noon ). Only a short wait for table, two parties before us. Service friendly and fast. Our breakfast was amazing, my "overload" had a serving of every breakfast items and was indeed an overload meal.

I got the chicken barbecue and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. There are a ton of super authentic Filipino food on the menu and the service was great. Plus the prices are far better than anything you'll find in other parts of NYC.

Speechless. The outside looks very suspicious, and the ambiance looks scrappy... BUT OMG. A legit Filipino food spot. Everything we tried is amazing. This place is the caterer of our company for the holidays and decide to stop by to dine in. The servers are nice. Had the bulalo and crispy pata which is AMAZING. And the breakfast overload is legit tasty. Will go back when Filipino food cravings hit.

    Bistec, lumpia and rice

I was craving Filipino food and wanted to sit in so I walked into here and it didn't disappoint. I ordered bistec tagalog which was absolutely tender and juicy it came with a little pot of rice in a metal cauldron. The portion was huge so I left completely stuffed. I also had lumpia which came with a little side of dipping vinegar and a calamasi juice. Service was good. There were a few groups of older ladies and I was the only non-Filipino there. Definitely looking at coming back.

Great food & service Came here on a late lunch Sunday afternoon A little wait for a table Can get loud with large groups but totally fine with us. I think it is the latest new restaurant in the area so lots of folks coming to try it out. #alwaysgutom #hangry #FilipinoFood #Queens #NYC #SevenTrain

Delicious food, obviously you're in Little Manila so you'll have options but for authentic Filipino - it's pretty close. I recommend!

Bulalo and kare-kare are highlights in this resto! Service is friendly and prices are competitive with other Filo restos around the area .

On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Chicken & waffles topped with bacon, very good chicken good combo dish. & the Lady's enchiladas great taste the enchiladas w the green sauce & cheese on top. Good size restaurant, small bar area towards the back, simple but colorful decor. Service overall has been good, they are attentive. Reasonable prices & u get a decent amount of food. They also have a temporary shed for the summer, for additional outdoor seating. For my meal, I had a pancake burrito, and it was better than I could have expected. The pancake was so fluffy and tasty, with a hint of crisp on the outside and a nice chewy texture overall. The savory components of the burrito worked surprisingly well with the pancake exterior, making for a medley of sweet, salty, and umami that went really well together in every bite. Our server was excellent, can't say enough about how good the brunch was. I definitely recommend this place!

Drinks: dad-mosa, red sangria, mango margarita and a passionfruit margarita. They cooked the bacon well done(crispy) the way it's suppose to be not that attempt to have it crispy( ifykyk). I wish the drinks were a little stronger but they were good nonetheless. The server was great. The place gave an old school save by the bell vibes very cute. They have happy hour starting at 3pm during the week. The bathrooms are clean. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't packed at all.
