Tyne is one of my new favorite weekend coffee spots. They do not disappoint. It's an east county hidden gem taking El Cajon to a new level. No joke, I think El Cajon is a better place because of Tyne! I wish they had cool spots like this back in the day when I grew up there. I kept hearing about this place and I am so happy that I finally checked it out. Their drinks are not only consistently delicious but the last time I went, I was obsessed with how beautiful mine was. I got an iced Americano with pumpkin cold foam (or cold cream...I can't remember what they call theirs). Either way, it was ridiculously good! I am salivating just thinking about it again. We loved our breakfast from Tyne Coffee. It is such a cute place located in a sort of weird part of El Cajon. The inside is darling with plants, shelves with things to buy like coffee and stuff. I loved the disco ball! The counter guy was super kind and friendly. We got the breakfast bagel without the ham. So good. I had the avocado toast and maybe it could have had a bit more seasoning and be a bit more toasted but I still loved it. By far my favorite thing was the oat milk vanilla latte. I was going to have a caramel latte which is my go to when I saw three big jars of powder. I was like what is that? Apparently they make their own vanilla powder and they also had matcha and chai. Tyne Coffee Co. has recently taken over Chainline Brew Cafe. They kept some of their menu items but also included some of their own. Today I had something of their own, the bagel sausage breakfast sandwich and a Cortado. The Cortado was excellent. It was smooth and rich with a clean finish. The everything bagel breakfast sandwich was outstanding. I like the way they pressed it nicely in a panini press. The egg was properly prepared and seasoned, the the sausage patty was quite savory. I liked that they did not hold back on the cheese. It was a scrumptious breakfast sandwich. In addition to the line-up of espresso based beverages, they also offer open faced toast, oat meals, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, and baked goods and pastries. Great customer service. read more

First, the latte I drank was decent --- no criticism for that. The breakfast sandwiches that I tried, two different ones, had Swiss cheese that tasted like American cheese and bacon that I prefer to be crispier. The breads used were a bit of a disappointment. The brioche bread was not good. The panini style bread was a bit better. I think that the owners may want to consider choosing higher quality cheese and higher quality bread. Cooking your bacon, hopefully in an oven, a bit longer so that it is crispy and not stringy would also help. read more

So I can only report that the coffee was good and the server at the counter worked quickly. My wife prefers hers in a real cup and was miffed to see afterwards that there appeared to be some cups on top of the espresso machine but she was not asked "for here?". This is a cool little place that is kind of off the beaten path! My kids and I were looking for a new coffee place with good coffee and breakfast sandwiches - and this place has both! Probably one of the weakest coffees I've ever had. I ordered an iced Americano with three shots, and somehow it still managed to taste severely watered down. The cup was pumped full of ice, which didn't help ,it just diluted what little coffee flavor was there. Let me start by saying the seating is super limited, most people will come in to order their coffee fix and leave right after. I think there's a total of 5-6 comfortable places to sit and do computer work at a table. There is additional shaded benches outside, but who wants to do work in San Diego's summer weather. But, the coffee will never disappoint. I find myself craving their original iced latte with house-made vanilla and hazelnut flavorings very often. They offer maybe 5-7 syrup flavorings, its not anything crazy, but it is high quality. Their coffee is so delicious and well-sized for the price point. They have a food menu as well, I've had their turkey sandwich off their lunch menu and their "dressed" avocado toast. Both were good, just a bit overpriced for what I was expecting. For example, I pay a couple dollars more for a "dressed" avocado toast only for there to be two measly slices of onion on each piece of toast, it was almost comedic when I opened it up, check out the photo, it was $9! They can do better with the serving sizes for their food items, but the coffee is SO worth the visit! I visit this place often for their coffee, check it out if you can. read more

Me and my sweet baby went to get a coffee for some grandson and grandma time. Cashier was a skinny girl, short hair pretty sure that baby's hair was red. Very cute cafe! We ordered a dirty chai, hot sugar free latte, sugar free iced latte, bagel with cream cheese and a ciabatta sandwich. The ciabatta sandwich has soft bread and tons of flavor. The lattes were great! (A lot better than any of your chains!) We got our drinks with almond milk and oat milk.
